Absolutely love the DS & Durga store in NYC! This place is a gem for perfume lovers. Their selection is vast and unique, with premium scents that you won’t find just anywhere. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and never pushy. Just genuinely excited to share their love of fragrance. It’s always a delight to stop by, whether I’m browsing or buying (though let’s be honest, I always end up buying something). My latest acquisition was Rose Atlantic (springtime fave!)—a beautifully fresh and light floral scent. It’s not too feminine, which I really appreciate, and it wears so well throughout the day. If you're in the city and love fragrance, this is a must-visit spot.

Got a sample set of 4 for $40. Two of spray mechanisms did not work. Sent an email to their customer service, no response. Good way to lose potential customers even if they liked the fragrance.

Bailey was a wonderful sales associate and extremely knowledgeable on all the fragrances, candles, and car scents. I came with a fragrance already in mind…but it was nice to get Bailey’s input on others I was considering, and also some of her faves. I would recommend D.S. & Durga for more out of the box fragrances. If you want to challenge your nose…go into a store and give them a try. I walked out with The Carlyle.

I went to the mulberry street store and was looked after by a lady called Bailey. Bailey was a breath of fresh air. She turned a frustrating situation around to be a really pleasant Interaction. Bailey ensured all our needs were taken care of and was so attentive, noticing and remembering small details then acting on them to make us feel special. She is a star, someone who should be cherished by management and a model employee for the brand.

I went here about a week ago and had a great experience. The girl working was super nice, helpful, and knowledgable about the product. I bought two candles, Concrete After Lightning & Breakfast Leipzig and really enjoy them both. I will say the Breakfast Leipzig candle is very subtle once it is lit. I don't have a particularly large bedroom, but even in my small place, it's hard to notice it at times. I decided to move it to the bathroom instead, and the smaller room did the trick to bring it out more. I might have to come back for more soon. Wonderful =)

I had an amazing experience at DS & Durga. My time here wasn't as long as I'd like as my Uber arrived literally a minute after I entered the store. The associate was very sweet and took her time with walking me through scents based off the scent profile I described to her that I was looking for. She was also very knowledgeable on which scents offered nice silage and longevity. The store has a minimal feel which is great to not overwhelm you. I was able to get a beautiful scent and was pleasantly surprised when I got home and opened my bag to discover all of the goodies that the sales associate placed in the bag for me. I'll definitely be back!

No samples at store. I like their scents and I have two that I bought because another retailer gave free samples of it. I truly don't understand how a company owned store doesn't give samples I won't purchase from them directly for this policy - as long as I can get a scent elsewhere and get a sample first. Scents are nice and staff was ok. I'm from out of town and I made an effort to come their store, it's an awful business decision to not let potential customers get samples for expensive perfume.

The perfume is nice but their policies re returning are time consuming and frustrating. I ordered on line, received an email that item was delayed, and when I did receive it, it had arrived too late -- giving it as a gift. To return one must first write an email requesting a return label. Did that. Next day they wrote back asking why I was returning. Answered back with reason: arrived too late. Next day email from them asking if I agree to a 12.00$ charge for the return label. I emailed them back asking why are you charging me if item was late? Next day email from them saying it was not late and do I agree to the charge. I emailed them back and replied yes (I was so frustrated with all these emails). Did not hear back from them for two days. I wrote again, "Yes, I agree to 12.00$ charge". Next day I was sent the label telling me I have 4 days to return it!!!! 4 days?! Two people were corresponding with me: Ashley and PeggySue. It was a Thursday when they sent me the label so I went straight to UPS. It arrived in their warehouse the following Wednesday. I wrote them the next week on Tuesday asking for my refund (because I was so annoyed). They wrote me back Thursday saying their warehouse did not have a record of it. !!!! By that time I was so frustrated with them and emailed back stating, "it's been in your warehouse for 7 days and if you don't refund me promptly I'm going to dispute the cc charge". They refunded me the next day. But wasn't all of this unnecessary? And 4 days to return something?

Came in with a friend yesterday and we both purchased perfumes (collectively spending $700+) and we weren't offered any samples!!! Extra bothersome considering we were in the store for at least 15mins both clearly debating between more than one scent. I don't know how they expect customers to blindly drop $200-$300 on a bottle of perfume without smelling it more than once (the rollerballs are still pretty pricey at $75!). Generally it is customary for brands to at the very least promote their latest release so I was pretty surprised we weren't even offered a sample of their newest scent at checkout. Very strange marketing strategy (or lack thereof) for a perfumery and disappointing customer service for what is supposed to be a high-end store / shopping experience.

Looking at recent reviews, seems like something has changed with how Durga handles online shopping. I bought a sample kit which was supposed to take 2 days to ship. A week goes by and I ask for an update. Ashley says they're out of 1 sample I ordered and offers 15% off my next order. Then radio silence. 2 weeks pass and nothing ships! I asked for a refund and no one answered. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get the money back. What's the point of pouring all your money into brand and visuals while neglecting the basic customer service needed to back it up? Yelp wants me to be proud this is a woman-owned business but you guys are an embarrassment to women's ability to manage!

I have ordered items from them before and the shipping has always been very slow. This most recent order was during the sample sale. I ordered two items, a lotion and a liquid hand soap. It took about a month to receive my package. When I opened the box there was one item inside, the lotion, and a packing slip with only one item listed, the soap. I paid for two items so I sent them an email which they responded saying they needed two days to respond with an answer. I let 6 days go by before reaching out again. No answer. Four more days went by and I sent another email. No response. I went ahead and opened a case with PayPal and finally heard from Ashley saying they were going to send the missing item from their Abbot Kinney location and I should have it shortly. I waited a week and still no package so I escalated my PayPal claim and got my money back. Ashley sent a tracking number and when I enter it in UPS it still says the label was created but no package exists. These people are a bunch of liars and thieves. I got my refund but what a hassle.

I really enjoy DS & Durga fragrances so I was thrilled to happen upon the boutique, which I hadn't even considered while I was in Manhattan. I'm so thrilled I did. I'd been meaning to get a sampler set and was able to at the store. Plus, they have their candles available too. Staff was super friendly. If you are looking for unique, interesting fragrance, this is your place.

Cannot recommend the dsanddurga.com online store. Intended on becoming a new online customer. I responded fully to their website's offer for a 15% discount on my 1st order, immediately was provided with what appeared to be relevant discount code, registered for an online account, went to order a $170 item, applied the 15% discount code and the immediate response from the website was that the code wasn't applicable to the item to be purchased even though the website did not post nor otherwise inform of any such limitations. I went to phone them at their advertised phone number on the website (917-740-2805) and "of course!" discovered that they were not accepting incoming phone calls. I tried their posted website "chat" feature and "of course!" immediately discovered that it was non-functional. Emailed "customer service" which provided no resolution other than agreeing to delete my account. Needless to say I will never order anything from their website.

2 Stars because I do love the scents, I own several candles and perfumes-otherwise it would be negative stars. Unfortunately I am only able to purchase online from D.S directly as I'm based in Los Angeles. Shout out to Ashley, who handles customer service issues. My order went for weeks with no acknowledgement. I sent several emails asking the status. Ashley says she sends it out same day with samples for inconvenience. 3-4 weeks into the purchase, I reach out again. Ashley says she's canceled my order. I said you're not offering anything just canceling the order? Not offering to extend the price towards another item or anything. Until today, after Ashley said she was sending a discount code + sending something to compensate nothing. I want to support small businesses. Just not this one.

Bought 3 products on December 9. It will be shipped on the dec 19. But they charged my credit card immediatel!!! It will NOT be here before Christmas. Huge disappointment. I emailed them 2 times. After several days, I received an email from someone saying they are the only person that handles emails and she is 3 to 4 business days behind. She said we would send my request to have it mailed. Not going to shop here again!!! Very disappointed for a high end fragrance business.

You would think that paying a premium price for a product would include premium customer service, but unfortunately, that's not the case here. I purchased an item online that was in-stock. Almost three weeks later, no delivery, no shipping confirmation, nothing but a runaround from customer service emails. I requested a cancelation of my order and an immediate refund. Will follow up on Yelp on how that goes. Very disappointed.

They shipped me two boxes, neither of which contained my fragrance. I have been trying to contact anyone in their customer service department since last week and no one has gotten back to me. Terrible service from a luxury brand (or at least one that positions itself as such). If you have to have their scent, buy it from a different retailer. Keep away from this scammy company.

Fun place to shop. Was there a few days ago and spent $35 on a bottle of hand soap. For $35 you would think it would work, but the pump on the bottle doesn't work. So now I have to go buy an empty bottle (or go buy a Meyer's hand soap and use it up) so that I can put the D S and Durga soap in a functioning container. Sorry, but that sucks.

This is a review of their Williamsburg, Brooklyn location. Wonderful customer service - I came in looking for a small lotion for a friend, and they immediately knew what to get her. Attentive and helpful. Their perfume gets rave reviews from everyone. Love that they're cruelty free and vegan.

I had such a wonderful experience here today. The sales associate was friendly and knowledgeable, and was very patient and helpful as I selected a few scents to take home in their miniature sizes. I look forward to going back to select a full size once I've lived with these for a bit. It also felt like a very safe COVID shopping experience, and I didn't feel that my ability to properly evaluate the scents was compromised. The store is also beautifully designed!
