Nestled in the original Farmers Market, Du-Par’s is a beloved diner known for its legendary pancakes and nostalgic vibe, serving hearty comfort food 24/7.
"Sadly, Du-Par’s “always open” operating schedule came to an end a few years back (it now closes promptly at 9pm on weekdays, and at 10pm on weekends), but this long-running diner at the Original Farmers Market is still a great place to take out-of-towners (or yourself) when granola for breakfast won’t cut it. An order of their fluffy, buttery hotcakes is the standard here—they’ve been making them since 1938, after all—but if it’s close to lunchtime, the patty melt is the move. Served on well-griddled bread with caramelized onions and swiss cheese, it’s a burger that’s as simple as it is spectacular." - brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder

"“If I’m with my family and want to go somewhere that feels nostalgic, I go to Du-pars. It’s about one hundred years old—or at least it feels like it is. It’s also in the Original Farmers Market, which is my favorite thing in Los Angeles. It has a sense of history, it’s food-centric, and it’s old school. I went to Du-par’s for dinner the other night, and I got my favorite thing: a hot open-faced turkey sandwich with gravy, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. I also love a diner breakfast. Their pancakes are world famous, and I like mine with their boysenberry syrup.”" - sylvio martins
"Original Farmer’s Market spot Du-Par’s has family-style holiday meals available for four-to-six ($155) or eight-to-ten people ($255). Orders include choice of a ham or turkey, plus options like butternut squash soup, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and more. Each order also comes with a pie. "You’ve finally reached the point in your recovery journey where you can chew soft foods. Congratulations! You (and your appetite) must be thrilled. Pancakes are thankfully delicious, filling, and easy to chew, and few places do them better than Du-par’s. The griddle leaves them slightly crisp on the outside, but spongy and soft on the inside. Go all in on the tangy boysenberry syrup." - sylvio martins
