Dublin's Bar & Grill

Dublin’s Bar & Grill is one of those great Chicago spots where the food truly stands out. Everything on the menu is hearty, comforting, and genuinely delicious. One of my absolute favorites is Dublin’s Homemade Irish Beef Stew. It’s rich, flavorful, and the kind of warm, satisfying dish you don’t forget. On top of the great food, Dublin’s also has an awesome late-night bar scene. It’s lively, fun, and welcoming, making it a perfect place to unwind, meet friends, or just enjoy being out in the city. Great food, great people, great late-night energy. Dublin’s is always a favorite stop for me.

Would definitely return for their buffalo caesar wrap!! The service was very Chicago vibes all the servers had dry humor and got the job done. We grabbed a glass of wine and some food on their patio and had the best time!

Currently here on a football Sunday. 10/10 I had the chili and fish and chips. Phone did not eat first.

This is the spot!! Cecilia, Aryam, Ryan, and Marco are all FANTASTIC! Reasonable prices, great food, and exceptional staff!! There’s a reason why I’m in here three times a week! So good that even when I’m walking the dog, she tries to come in! 😉

Julien was our waiter. Very attentive and polite. Suggested to add shrimp to my Dublin salad, delicious! I no longer drink, but it seemed everyone was enjoying the bartender and his drinks. Definitely a cute little Irish bar environment to visit if in the neighborhood when visiting Chicago

The service was great and the food was delicious. We had the taco plate and the meat had the nice tri tip chard end and the rice had a very unique and flavorful flavor.

The drinks weren’t the best. The fries were just minimum acceptable quality. We ordered desert too, we got beignet and it tasted like a frozen donut! Nothing were good or above basically. So, We probably won’t give it a second try.

Went for the bears game and had one of the worst experiences with our waitress. Right from the start she was very rude. 2 people in our party don't drink, and she told them "you cant keep ordering diet coke all day". She only came around to take orders twice while we were there (it was very busy so we did not mind and understood). When she came back a third time, we were given our check because "we did not spend enough money and had to leave". All 6 of us were planning on ordering food when she returned to our table, but we were not even given that option. The table next to us even noticed and told us they couldn't believe how terrible she was. We really like the environment and have been before, but will never be returning again. The younger gentleman that was the host/working the door was so nice, and we wished we could have given our INCLUDED gratuity to him instead.

A little pricey. Seafood salad was very good and their ciabatta bread is excellent (from Montelimar Bakery). Daily soup and specials, sandwiches (lean corned beaf, burgers, chicken sandwich). Breakfast is now on the menu... Corn beef hash could be much better. Service is immediate and very good (Ryan, Todd, Terry, Brinna). TVs, full bar.

I stopped in after a night out with the girls and was shocked that they had a full service menu after midnight. The server was quick and attentive, especially for it to be a packed bar and late at night. I got the chicken parmesan, it was ok, just a little too cheesy and the chicken/sauce could do some more seasoning/flavor. I also had the cheesy poppers and they were good, I really enjoyed them. I would go back for cocktails and to try some other items.

Went with my friend earlier around 2:30am as it was our first night in town and was the only place close by that was still open with food plus we're familiar with the place. Honestly thought it was OK at first same vibe as usual. But a guy I had met while at the bar had told me as soon as we left, the bartender who worked there at the time told him to "be careful around us because we had robbed someone last night and that he can tell by our 'character' we are dangerous". It's our first night in town. We definitely didn't rob anyone last night or any night ever. And most definitely aren't bad or dangerous ladies. It definitely wasn't his place as a BARTENDER to spread FALSE information about us to a bunch of men. It was extremely rude and not safe for us either. People are weird and honestly need to keep their mouth shut! I am VERY bothered by it.

We decided to pop into this small inconspicuous little pub named Dublin as we meandered through the streets of The Gold Coast in Chicago. It's small and cozy with an obvious local clientele. Always a good sign. The staff are friendly and welcoming. This bar opens very early and stays open very late. They also do food. The menu is pretty big. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and fries which hit the spot. Very well priced here!

Waitress over charge my credit card said she was going to credit it back but she did not!! Tried to talk to the management several different phone calls and a few days later no call back no action was taken on their part Finally went in and tried to rectify the situation basically was told they were not going to do anything and I have to deal with it through my bank Very poor customer service mediocre food will never go back!!

I just love this place from the cocktails to the food and The waitstaff have been going to this establishment for over 20 years never fails me.

As you can probably tell from the name, the vibe of Dublins is an Irish Pub. It's nearly impossible to find somewhere casual in Gold Coast, but Dublins is perfect if you don't feel like dressing to the nines for dinner and/or drinks. Perfect place to watch sporting events too. They had high quality bar food from my experience. I got their spicy chicken caesar wrap, which I was only slightly disappointed with because it tasted more like a buffalo wrap than caesar. I loved that it came on a little bed of caesar salad though and I also loved that the chicken was breaded inside. Worth checking out if are looking for bar food, just want to grab a beer or a place to watch a game!

Really cool Irish pub in Gold Coast. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was slammed! They had TVs everywhere playing soccer and The Masters. Huge menu - over 25 different items to choose from for food and a large beer list. We enjoyed the chicken parm sandwich and fish and chips. The service was pretty bad but we were just hanging out for a while so it didn't bother us too much. Overall, would probably only go back for drinks!

Highly recommend the Bison Burger! The fried egg running down the side makes for one heck of a burger. The atmosphere is nice and the patio seating is perfect for those Chicago summer days. Our sever was tentative and the auxiliary staff was quick to wipe down the tables and refresh waters.

Nice neighborhood bar. We came in for drinks and even though the plsce was full we were able to get drinks quickly. They also have warm drinks in the winter.

I needed a cheaper place to eat. Although this place ain't exactly cheap, if you compare it to other restaurants in this area.....it's a lot better than paying $90 for a steak or $55 for a plate of pasta. There are many eateries doing that in this neighborhood. It was a late Sunday afternoon. Place was packed, but I found a lone stool at the bar. Music was loud. Bartender was coy, but friendly. One thing I was asked to do before ordering, was to let the bar hold on to my credit card! This is a first for me. Perhaps prevents dine & dash? I ordered a corn beef sandwich ($15) and a bottle of beer ($5.50). As I sat there waiting for my food, there was a heated discussion between a server and a manager. Another manager had to get involved as well. Despite the loud music, I could hear it. I was surprised they even discussed their problems right in front of a customer, but it is a very small and cramped joint. I could watch the kitchen do its thing from my bar stool. If cooks handling food without gloves is a deal breaker for you.....don't order anything to eat here. Sandwich arrived promptly, mediocre at best....along with a generous portion of French fries. I'll probably go elsewhere next time, for variety's sake.

I came here two weekends in a row for drinks, and was even more impressed with the bar food. Excellent service, great drinks all around for a dive bar with good pours. The bartenders and staff in general take care of you as well. For food, we got the Mediterranean beef salad, which was delicious and fresh. Lots of meat with a nice dressing. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip, but this wasn't my favorite and was a bit watery. We got a side of fries, which was actually a huge plate and excellent thin cut fries. Overall this was a great spontaneous dive bar dinner- no frills but awesome bang for your buck.

Grabbed a bite with a friend on Friday night. It was pretty crowded but we got a table. Had some drinks and some food. I always walk past this spot and when I saw the menu was vast and reasonably priced I just may come back. All sorts of people are in there black white Indian Asian Latin a mix pool but of course it's a pub so mostly white. It's in the heart of Rush and Oak so there's a lot of people watching. My food was cool.

Bus boy, Joe put his hands on me trying to act like a security security guard at 2 AM because he was drunk. Now you can play back the footage everything I'm saying is true. Security said that because he worked there, he was entitled to whatever. I went to the security for help after I had a strange encounter, security, then laughed at me. Try to wait for an Uber and a bus boy joe decided to call me a whore and scream horrific names at me. maybe he should focus on washing more dishes instead of trying to get a pay grade above his. Bartenders were great no complaints about them, but the security that worked tonight and your little bus boy named Joe who sits outside of the front door at 2 AM thinking that he's all that needs to shut the fuck up. Because of my encounter tonight, I will never recommend this restaurant to anybody. horrible bar, horrible service, horrible security and shitty company. This alone ruined mine and my friends night after spending hundreds in the bar..

This place is awesome. Staff is exceptionally attentive and friendly. The menu is extensive and the soup of the day was very tasty! Really enjoyed it here. Laid back and easy place to hang out. Highly recommend dropping in if you are looking for a chill place to hang out/ enjoy some down time.

By the name, anyone can guess it's an Irish pub, but it's harder to guess if it's any good. Dublin is a typical casual looking pub in a hip neighborhood. It actually looks a little divey compared to other restaurants. Gets rowdy in here. There's always some drunk bastards making a move on women, oh by the way, excuse me. Guinness is on tap of course. It's $8 a pint. That seems kind of a lot but oh well. It's ice cold. They also have a better than expected food menu. Even vegetarians can find something good, because they have a Beyond Burger. It's $12 and is a big hunk of non meat. This comes with plentiful lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Other food is typical for a bar. They have wings and those kind of greasy bar favorites. Have some good Irish fun awhile. It's better than it looks. The entertainment includes watching games on TV and watching winos make fools of themselves.

Their 5'5 bouncer either battles with roid rage from all the steroids he takes or he's coked out. I had to call the police to assist. Take your business elsewhere.

This place never disappoints!!! The food is delicious. My go to option is always their blackened sea scallops salad. This restaurant is a classic Irish staple in the heart of downtown that you must try.

We really liked this small pub in the city. We sat at the bar receiving friendly and prompt service even though they were quite busy on a Friday evening. We had our typical Guinness. I got the fish and chips which were really good. My husband got the hot chicken and fries which he liked. The bill was reasonable, and we were glad we made the trek out in the cold night to go there.

Never got to try the food or got service for that matter...I sat at the bar, no one came, then I asked to be moved to an outside table and still no service. The server looked at me, served everyone else and never came to take my order. Will not be visiting ever again. I also saw her rudely brush off another black couple when trying to ask a question. She literally served every single table twice, and as I said, looked at me, and never serviced me.

A holdover from the age before the area got so fancy. This is my neighborhood bar and grill for when I just want good food without a whole scene. They make a lot more effort with the food than many comparable places. Standbys include the steak sandwich, waffle fries, and lamb shank. They do a very nice, thick cheeseburger. My favorite dish is the Gold Coast seafood salad, which is pretty great in both quality and quantity, especially when you consider the price point and the high-rent neighborhood. It does get very noisy, sometimes quite early in the day, and the waitstaff can be hit or miss.

Waited over 10 minutes for two beers! Seems like the waitress was drunk or doesn't want to make money. Go to Gibson's instead and get great service.

customer service is always great the bartenders and servers are awesome and the prices are decent for chicago haven't tried much food yet but i will continue to go back

After a meeting with quite a few people here on The Gold Coast, we adjourned and several people were walking over to Dublins Bar and Grill. Having walked by this establishment a kabillion times and never venturing in, I said "What the hell, let's do it"! Now don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against Irish Bars; I've been in a million of them including in Ireland (in particular). I guess at this point, it became an age appropriate thing as this place rocks with a clientele way younger than me. So, I mosey on over on this rainy Wednesday night with tornado sirens blaring and it was packed. The walls are jammed with photos of Chicago landmarks , sports memorabilia and TV sets clamoring with every live sports event happening in real time. Our rather large group find this long narrow high-top bar table and start ordering. Yes, it was a young crowd, yes it was boisterous, yes it was a bit unpolished, but what do you expect from an Irish bar, crumpets and tea? Everyone here (and by everyone I mean a whole lot of people) were having a good old time, including myself. Did I have to yell to communicate to the person standing next to me - yes! Do I own a pair of 501 Levi's older than 3/4 of the people in this bar - yes! Was I having a very good time hanging with my group after a tame business meeting, a resounding - yes!

Great spot, lots of locals and iced cold beer! Definitely worth stopping. I was in need of a cold beer and they didn't disappoint.

So last night, for the first time since I've been going here since mid 2000 it was embarrassing and very disrespectful/disturbing We were asked to put a Credit Card up before they would take our order. I asked the manager did he ask everyone to do what he asked us to do and he replied YES. Of course I asked a couple & they said No interracial couple, so I asked another table that was a rainbow of people they said No different races ... So my guest that was visiting from Michigan said they WOULD NOT patronize a business that clearly based our group on what seem very Racist So we left and took our business to another restaurant that was more than happy to accommodate us! Dublins you really DISAPPOINTED ME as a long time customer!!! You need to check the manger & his judgement call.

Rudest service ever, for meh food. Never again. How do they stay in business? Waitress seemed like she'd rather be at the dentist than work here.

Make sure you close out your tab. I was charged $65 for one drink . I came Saturday night around 1am. I paid for one long island for $15. Woke up two days later to find out my card was changed at 5am for $65. I never gave a tip off my card. I paid cash tip. I would never tip $50 for a $15 drink!

Great establishment. Chicken tendies and fries are Abe was the BEST, he kept us safe in a kind of uncomfortable situation (weird guy at the bar). Love you.

Racially profiled !!!on December 21st 2023 me and my friend went to have drinks and get something to eat when we was entering the door we was stopped by a man name moe (Mohamed) he proceeded to tell us we smell like weed and couldn't get in which was a lie he didn't even let us get in the door he said his manager would complain moving forward i ask him to speak to the manager he then began to lie again and say he was the manager after he said the manager was inside its very disrespectful for him to lie straight to our faces like we was uneducated because the color of our skin it was very unfortunate we were racially profiled if you are black they will find a reason to turn you around no colores folks allowed guys this is the second time they found a excuse not to let us in is the only reason I'm writing a review spend your money somewhere else:)

Went here on break for some chicken tenders and fries today. It was all fine up until a cockroach decides to fall from the ceiling straight onto me and my coworkers plate of food. Disgusted, truly doesn't give the experience we just had justice. The health department clearly needs to run by this establishment to make sure they aren't spreading unneeded viruses around the city. In all honesty happy it didn't fall on our head. As a loyal customer of dublins, I most definitely will not be going back.

The food is good for bar food- the one thing I don't like is they always change the fries. One day it will be steak fries the next waffle fries there is no consistency and today they just taste old. Onto the real complaints - Terry server during the day has brown hair she always seems to have An attitude like we are disrupting her for doing her job. Hunny you're a server if you don't want to wait on people look at a different career. She is the rudest thing. EVERYTIME I go there she has a stick up her butt. When ordering she doesn't even let you finish before walking away. She needs to go or change her attitude! Like not okay I don't care how long you've been working there you shouldn't treat your customers as if they are an inconvenience...

Edwin was a great host! We came to watch the euro soccer match and the atmosphere was just what you want in a pub/dive bar. The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding! I live right around the corner so Dublins will now be my game day spot!

Very bad service. Called with a couple questions and the women who answered the phone was very disrespectful and hung up on me before I was even able to ask anything. Don't go here

my friends and I were waiting for a table, when one is the waitress started calling us assholes. We didn't realize we were blocking the doorway, again we were waiting for the hostess to seat us. she was grabbing menus and we simply waited. We were so confused by the situation on why should we yell assholes to us. When we finally were seated the manger came over and told us we had to leave Because we offended the waitress. he didn't even want to heat our side. We try to explain to him what happen, he simply didn't want to hear us out. what kind of business allows their employees to call customers assholes. NEVER going back!! do not recommend it at all.

Wow I'm not typically one to write a poor review, but I'm honestly shocked by the treatment I just received over the phone. I called asking to place a pickup order for food (I love their oysters rockefeller and was looking to pick up an order to accompany mine and my boyfriend's homecooked Valentine's Day dinner). The lady said I don't normally do pickup orders and then asked if I lived in the neighborhood, to which I said yes, and she said I okay I can do it what do you want? I ordered a half dozen oysters (she had an attitude about me asking if they can do a half dozen). She replied "Ready in 20" and then hung up. I am still at work and was hoping to have the oysters ready in about an hour since they are served warm.... So I called back and asked her if they could be ready in an hour, and she said no I already put them in. So I said okay can you can cancel them then because I don't want them cold. She said yep and hung up. I understand if they don't typically do pickup orders, but she should've either just said no or specified that it would have to be ready in 20. Instead of having a terrible attitude and hanging up before I could add that part of my request. I can't imagine they're extremely busy at 3:30 on a Wednesday, so I am just confused why this woman would speak so rudely to an avid customer, especially on Valentine's Day:( I hope her day gets better.

Food is decent but don't call in to pick up an order. Apparently the rude server or host that spoke to me over the phone today informed me they don't accept call ins but she'll help me out this time. Didn't feel like help with the condescending attitude either. If she's right and this establishment doesn't do orders over the phone and to pay and pick up at the restaurant then they're seriously missing out on an opportunity to bring in more money. Just baffled me at first but then the lady kept on talking over the phone I knew that I had to check the other reviews for this place. I guess this isn't the first time a customer has gone through this over here. Lol why be so rude if you work in the customer service industry??

Great food, great history, After 20 years I stopped in again and got addicted to thei "appetiser", Scampi with saffron rice, The only reason I won't go ther again, after about 10 times the last few weeks, is the abnoctious daytime Over the hill "hostess", Don't like to be insulted before I even sit down, The rest of the staff is great, especially their chefs and evening severs! Guinness could be a little warmer,

In my younger years this spot often got passed as I chose more lounges and clubs to party at. I feel like I missed out on a chill spot with some pretty great bar food. I finally got the opportunity to dine here and outside on a cooler day where there was such a light sprinkling. Luckily there is overhead coverage and it was nice to have our dog out with us. Our waiter Anthony seemed like he was in training as another waiter accompanied him, and so both were nice and helpful letting us know food would be coming up and keeping up with the refills. The guy that seated us outside was great getting a water bowl for our dog, too. The weather called for soup and so I got the Saturday special New England clam chowder soup and the well raved about seafood salad. Both were delicious! I loved that the seafood was grilled and very flavorful and the vinaigrette dressing paired very nicely. I am a fan and made a fan out of my MIL who asked for a paper menu so she could call and order in the future. I am sure I will be back to try other items.

We live around the corner and have tired to hang at this place but the waitstaff is so insanely rude. On Monday, we had a dark haired waitress who seemed annoyed that we were even there. She didn't even stop to take our orders, just like kept walking and said, "what do you want?" Tried again last night and, again, they're just unfriendly. So, we'll stick to Butch's. Thanks!

As usual the place was packed so we got food to go. The Italian Beef sandwich and the Calamari sandwiches were fantastic! Time was reasonable and waiting outside by the door was very entertaining! This place embodies the Chicago culture in many ways, great food and service and a deep love of sports! PS: the door man is a good guy but don't mess with him because he will be happy to straighten you out! Lol. Super great Gold Coast hang out!

Insane. Chaotic. Amazing! We had the best bartender of all time, we couldn't get up to the bar so he came to us to get the drink orders. He kept it up all night, never forgetting us or making a mistake. In such a packed bar, that s very impressive!

Solid - Decent Irish Pub in the heart of the Gold Coast. Great beers, decent food, and semi attentive staff. Possible improvements; try power washing Everything inside and out. Then a bit of paint, stain and polyurethane! Oh...and use a lot of windex!

Nice place! I definitely love the chill atmosphere. This is a place you can come to, to watch sports (eat and have drinks) or just to simply hangout with friends. I love the old memorabilia picture frames on the wall. Staff is great and friendly. I definitely recommend this place. Thanks for the great first experience! Will come again!

Dive bar in the gold coast. Its a dive bar with regular irish bar prices which was a little annoying. I feel like you just pay a premium to eat/drink over there

We sat with Terri & she was THE BEST - so personable, was great with a child too. Our drinks were never empty & our stomachs were full!! Thank you, Terri and team!!! :)
