I visited DubuHaus with my family after traveling for spring break. We were all craving for authentic Korean food and after some googling we found out that a new tofu place (that actually makes their own tofu) opened in Koreatown and decided to take a try with a few friends.
We started off with the gogi mandu which was a great hit with the kids. We then ordered white rice, braised short ribs and the yellow croaker for the kids and nutritious rice, bossam, budae soondubu, spicy pork & dubu for the adults. We also had some makgeoli (rice wine) to compliment the meal and dubu ice cream to finish off.
Overall the food was really good. We highly recommend short ribs if visiting with kids. The meat was tender and easy to chew on and the sauce was really good that my daughter decided to make her own version of bibimbap adding the sauce, mushrooms and meat to her rice and mixing it up. My husband and I really enjoyed the budae soondubu, bossam and especially the nutritious rice which is hard to find outside of Korea. The tofu was fresh and flavorful with texture unlike other tofu places. The dubu ice cream that came out for dessert was a delight as well. We didn't notice until the end that it wasn't vanilla but in fact tofu.
Anyway, we would come again especially with groups of friends with different dietary restrictions(vegan) or looking for authentic Korean food.

This newly opened restaurant in the heart of k-town, will be my favorite. The beautiful grand entrance welcomes you at first sight. The interior is modern and warm. Having said that, let me tell you about the food, I mean atmosphere is great too but you know it's all about the food! ;) Already I visited twice in just 3 days and planning on another very soon. First, as it is "dubu haus" the dubu (korean for tofu) was top quality! Reminiscent of how my grandmother made when I was a baby. Authentic!!! If you love tofu, this place will top every tofu house you ever visited. And my fellow dieters and vegetarians, you know you need your healthy protein. All the other dishes were just full of flavors from nutty to savory to fiery if you can tolerate spicy. I couldn't just recommend one specific dish. And please pair with some makgeoli (korean rice drink) by their awesome mixologist. You just gotta come everyday to try all the dishes!

I’d like to give a big shoutout to Danny and John for their outstanding service! We were truly impressed by the extra effort they put in to ensure we could fully enjoy our dining experience. We will absolutely be returning with friends and are excited to dine at Howoo too. Although there was a wait to be seated since we had no reservation, both Danny and John made it well worth the wait! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, with even the side dishes being so flavorful that they could easily make up another meal. The dishes were perfectly balanced, not overly seasoned allowing the natural flavors to shine through!!!

Love Howoo and was excited to try their new tofu spot but the service was pretty inconsistent at DubuHaus. We didn’t get the tofu starter like other tables did. The banchan and rice arrived after we kept asking for it but we were already halfway done with our meal. They charged us for rice when it comes with the soups. And we waited a long time for the free ice cream and had to ask someone for it. The space is big and the food is okay but the service definitely needs some work.

Authentic Korean Cuisine Made with House-Made Tofu
This spot serves traditional Korean dishes crafted with their own freshly made tofu.
The ambiance feels like a high-end American restaurant, but the presentation stays true to Korean roots.
Portions are generous—some dishes might be a bit much for smaller appetites.
If they offered half sizes, it would be perfect for sampling a variety of flavors.

Fire Korean food, sizable portions, and surprisingly affordable given the vibes and attentive service. Short rib was flavorful. The mushroom hotpot was so tasty but didn’t need the bulgogi in it. Complementary tofu-based ice cream was light and pleasant. Would come back for sure.

Dubuhaus is a Korean gem- immediately became my favorite Korean spot in nyc! Now I get why it’s so hard to book - everything was amazing! The handmade tofu they serve before the meal was divine, and the presentation of the banchan (side dishes) and kettle pot rice was so thoughtful. The food was absolutely delicious - authentic Korean flavor at its best! The space feels luxurious, the service is top-notch, and somehow the $19 soondubu comes with tofu soft ice cream at the end?! Insanely good!!!👍

Would not recommend. Poorly executed copy of Cho Dang Gol. Went for soft opening and second time because friend wanted to try. Ate several appetizers, hot pots, soon doo boo (tofu stew), short rib. All of it was very bland and muted. The tofu doesn't absorb any of the flavor. The soup itself is very watery. The dumplings and short rib are very average. Only redeeming quality is that the place is more spacious and clean than your average soon doo boo house. I really wanted to like this one because I'm a big fan of HOWOO, the connected KBBQ restaurant, but this one is a big miss.
