Baltimore’s 38 Essential Restaurants

"Ashish Alfred’s showcases his precise culinary technique in dishes like a crowd-pleasing croque madame, succulent duck confit, and a burger blanketed by rich foie gras, blueberry jam, and gruyere cheese at his beloved Fells Point French brasserie. Oysters on tiered plates arrive in a chic space lined with burgundy booths and white tiled floor. Duck Duck Goose also has locations in D.C. and Bethesda." - Jess Mayhugh, J.B. Hollander

Duck Duck Goose Review - Dupont Circle - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for a romantic date night spot, Duck Duck Goose is the place. The Dupont Circle restaurant is captivating, with candlelight reflecting off the yellow velvet seats, casting a warm glow throughout the room. The French bistro’s menu, as indicated by the name, is an ode to all things duck. Think french onion soup made with duck confit and a foie gras burger served with duck-fat fries. But the real scene-stealer, ironically, is not the duck at all, but the croissant bread pudding. It comes with layer upon layer of puff pastry drenched in a caramel and chantilly cream and is one of the best bread puddings we’ve ever had." - Omnia Saed

Engaging Ahso Is Worth the Drive, Says Washingtonian - Eater DC

"The restaurant receives two stars from Washington Post critic Tom Sietsema. Highlights include the roasted Japanese eggplant appetizer, bronzed scallops with Israeli couscous, aged duck with glazed beets and beet puree, and ratatouille with grill-singed zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant, and tomato. The chef and owner Ashish Alfred has an impressive resume. Fish fans should order the branzino elevated on creamy white beans, and vegetarians should try the cauliflower steak on smoked date puree. For lunch, the steak sandwich with twice-fried frites is recommended. Avoid the thinly sliced foie gras and the dull cream puffs and chocolate sauce for dessert. A better ending is the two-toned white chocolate pot de crème." - Tierney Plumb

My sister, Surreal W. Smothers, and niece, Madison, brought for my belated birthday Brunch. I had French Onion Soup, Duck and Waffles, and Eggs. Everything was simply delicious. The service was excellent. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you!

Google
A cozy little festive spot with some seriously fancy and delicious food! The prices were a bit high, but the quality was top notch and the servers definitely can point you in the right direction based on your preferences. I really enjoyed the cocktail menu, and the burger and fried rice were both excellent. If you're in downtown Baltimore and want something a bit fancy, you should definitely check this place out.

This is (or was?) my favorite restaurant in all of Baltimore. The food here is consistently great. They removed the grilled foie gras from the menu, but had duck liver pate as an alternative which was still pretty good. My favorite is the duck fried rice, and you can never go wrong with the Escargot. I would rather have a baked Camembert instead of deep fried, but it was pretty good. Overall, I left with the feeling that they are making the menu more American and less French, and this breaks my heart. The truly awful part of my latest visit was the service. The waiter had NO idea what he was doing. He missed part of the order and forgot about our drinks. Most of the evening he was MIA, and never cleared the table before bringing the next dishes or the bill.

Very delicious food. We chose to go here for our last day of a short stay in Baltimore and we were not disappointed. The seats were fairly comfortable, although we had a booth table. On a Thursday evening it was not busy. My fiancée and I ordered appetizers and shared an entree, which I would do again. The flavors were excellent, especially on the duck confit, the steak tartare, and the escargot. I'd recommend the chocolate mousse for dessert. We also tried the pavlova. The latter was fun for the novelty, but I didn't find the flavors to be too interesting (especially in comparison to everything else). Portions were a little small, but we didn't mind. The prices, I think, while high for the area, were below what we've seen in other cities for high quality French cuisine, so I have no doubt the restaurant has close margins here. Service was quite attentive. All in all, I recommend coming here. Maybe not the place if you're starving and just want to stuff your face ; instead, you'll enjoy dishes that make you feel like it's fine dining. Our subtotal was around $100 for two people with three appetizers, an entree, and two desserts. Not bad at all for a date night!

I’ve had this place on my Baltimore bucket list since I was in grad school and could only dream of affording a place whose google page had $$$ on it. This was absolutely magical. The food was delicious and the wait staff was very kind and attentive. I would recommend treating it like small plates and only getting the appetizers because the cost of the entrees to the quality wasn’t great. The small plates are where this place shines. They were great with identifying foods with my allergens and brought out champagne for us after dinner to celebrate our special event! Will definitely be going back.

Came for Baltimores restaurant week. Everything was incredibly delicious. My favorite was the pear and cheese appetizer, such a great pairing! Loved the outdoor space, would be even better during the warm seasons. [Until next bite -K]

I'm not sure where to start with Duck Duck Goose but it is hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to in the city. Duck Duck Goose specializes in French cuisine and has seasonal menu items. When I visit, I always go with whatever duck dish they're serving paired with some Foi Gras. This occasion in particular was spectacular. The duck was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The sauce complemented the meat quite well and was savory but also tangy. The beans added a complementary contrast for the dish. Each bite was delectable. We also got the seasonal gnocchi which was also marvelous. I am always looking forward to coming here for special occasions (It is quite pricey) and am never let down. I highly recommend!

Google
Food was disappointing. Duck confit was dry and overcooked, rice was too salty. Could not finish the food. The lamb had tons of fat. The French onion soup was good. Service was ok. After we returned the food, they did not charge for one of the 2 entrees. After reading the reviews, I thought it was going to be much better. In my opinion, way overpriced for the food served.

Yelp
Drinks were good Food was ok - burger not all cooked, ordered medium Shrimp n grits - ok shrimp little chewy/ overdone Service horrible-- 30 mins sitting there n still no water. Ppl near us complained about their bill, another couple across from us complained about their order..maybe not as busy on weekdays? Try at your own risk

Yelp
came for Baltimore Restaurant Week! we had a three course dinner menu with escargot, steak frites, and bread pudding. we also chose to try the duck liver pate in addition. all options were good. it wasn't too busy when we got there but it did fill up fast. we did spend more time waiting for our dishes to come out unfortunately than we spent eating, but it could have been due to the nature of our meal. the decor inside is inspired with lots of cool duck-themed paraphernalia. servers were kind! I would be interested in coming again.

Yelp
My friend was raving about the bread pudding here so we decided to come for brunch one weekend, and it really was wonderful! The exact word I used at the time was divine, so just to start off, I recommend the bread pudding in the least. We also got the eggs Benedict and the short rib hash which were both delicious (my boyfriend probably ate his eggs Benedict in 4 seconds that's how much he loved it, literally I took one taster bite of it, looked up, and he was done!) we also had some drinks which must've been strong because after one and a half I was pretty tipsy. Our waitress was awesome, attentive, and patient. I also really liked the decor and all the windows. So overall, at least for brunch, it was a really positive experience!

Yelp
We visited Duck Duck Goose during a recent trip to Baltimore per the recommendation of a local Philadelphia chef. We had no issues making reservations - we had a concert in the evening, so we got a spot right when they opened. I had never been to the Fells Point neighborhood before, but it was super cute, giving Duck Duck Goose a lovely backdrop. We dined indoors, where there is ample seating, but they also had a few outdoor bistro tables set up - on theme with the French vibes in the restaurant and on the menu. There was no crowd during our dinner, so we had adequate attention from our waiter. We started with the roasted cauliflower per the rec of our server. Featuring a bed of date puree, the veggie was nicely charred and accompanied by some pickled onions. A nice starter! For my main, I opted for the duck a l'orange, a newly added menu item per our waiter. The duck had a perfect balance of crisp on the skin without compromising the succulence of the meat. The rosti was OK, nothing too exciting as a pairing, but the orange flavor that brought it all together was quite lovely and fresh. The portion looked on the smaller side, but I felt decently full afterwards. My husband opted for the DDG burger, really enjoying the blueberry jam alongside the duck patty and the duck fat fries to pair. His was certainly heartier than mine! We finished our meal with the croissant bread pudding topped with chantilly and caramel - decadent without being too indulgent. Our meal was accompanied by complimentary champagne (we were celebrating our anniversary) and some cocktails - mine was adorably adorned with a little duck decal. OVerall, our meal at Duck Duck Goose was a great way to celebrate our anniversary and experience the Fells Point area. Our meal was solid - although the portions could have been a slightest bit bigger for the price. I would definitely revisit to try some more menu and cocktail offerings, perhaps next time enjoying some people watching while sitting outside!

Yelp
Had a chance to visit duck duck goose when we were up in Baltimore for July 4th weekend. Came as a group of 4 on a Monday night. We'll start off with the service which was attentive and great throughout the night. The accidentally placed a wrong entree for me and I ended up having to wait an additional 15 min while everyone else ate; however they gave me another drink and a round of champagne for the table on the house so no complaints. We started with the French onion soup which was probably on par with what you find in France. It was cheesy and flavorful without being too salty (which is a hard balance to find sometime). The entree I got was the duck breast Pithivier. Appreciate the effort and the flavor was good; however the foie gras and mousse did not seem to add much in terms of flavor/texture to the dish (just the price) the duck breast was delicious. I wish the sauce was on the side though cause it soften the puff pastry and made it a bit soggy and unpleasant to eat. It also was too salty from the sauce. Would probably be back to try other things but maybe not for a while. The price point however is the harder point to swallow. While the dishes were tasty, it feels like you can get something similar for cheaper.

Yelp
First time trying duck and it was pretty good! Small and quaint restaurant in the heart of Fells Point with cute outside seating. Went on a slow day and even though they only had one server, we still received great service and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Great location, consistently solid food, and very nice service. Love their DDG burger and while on the pricier side, would say they're one of the best brunch spots in Baltimore and never disappoints. We dined outside on a hot day with our dog and the waitress brought him a cold-ice water bowl, how considerate! We'll be coming back again.

Yelp
I genuinely enjoyed this spot! Came here with my husband on a weekday for dinner. We did stand in line for a bit waiting to be seated, but thankfully it did not take long. We were able to sit in the basement level of the restaurant and it was so beautiful! I ordered the duck and it was so good! The wine here is also spectacular! Highly recommend. The ambiance, service, and overall experience was amazing. I highly recomme

Yelp
I came recently during the Fell's Point Fun Festival and we were able to get a table by the window to see all the lovely action! The restaurant itself is super chic and definitely has some Parisian charm. My partner and I were dining to celebrate our anniversary and the welcomed us with glasses of champagne, a much appreciated touch! The food was delicious and the cocktails were well balanced. We ordered the steak medium rare and it came out a little more done, but the meat was great quality and it wasn't tough or dry. The gnocchi were light and airy, a nice nod to summer on a warm fall day. The duck fat fries are phenomenal too! Definitely a must try item.

Yelp
THE fells point brunch spot. Cocktails and mocktails are beautiful and the duck confit waffles will knock your socks off. Even the French omelet is simple yet scrumptious. Our server Brittany was so wonderful!

Yelp
9'18'2022 Birthday Brunch for my Party of 8 I picked this place for my birthday brunch because I heard great things. Great things. Well, started off great w the gorge décor and detail. We were sat at the front long table. It was perfect. Great service by Tim. I saved the name Sam from this venture but cannot remember why. Collectively we ordered the following. Herb Roasted Chicken Sandwich Fries La Vie En Rose Shrimp & Grits Nutella French Toast Everything came out quickly and delish. After great convo, eating and letting our food digest, we were ready to go. Of course I wanted a great memory of this wonderful outing. I asked the hostess, a female, Sam if that's a female to take the pic and they said "No". Caucasian female, about 5'7. I thought that was kinda cold. If Sam was not her name and is a guy, he was awesome. I will def take better notes going forward as great folks deserve their accolades. Nevertheless, a stranger overheard and hooked us up w the perfect pics. I probably won't return but a 11 second pic would have gotten this place 5 Stars. Geeze.

Yelp
I've come here mainly for dinner which has always been great. Today I came for brunch which is what my review is on. The prices have gone up in general but the food is still amazing. My experience with service here has always been good and our server today was great. It was quite nice out but still breezy so my friend and I chose to sit indoors. I got the Short Rib Hash while my friend chose the Croque Madame (I've had it before and it's delicious). My shot rib hash wasn't what I expected it to be but it was still super tasty. The hash was crispy and the runny yolk made a nice little sauce in it. We also got the French Toast to share. It was quite thick and Nutella ran out when you cut into it. With the brûléed banana, it was a sweet party in my mouth and a perfect ending for brunch. I'm already looking forward to my next visit because I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Overall, good food if you don't mind a leisurely dinner! Food - gnocchi: delicious pillows in a wonderful corn sauce with mushrooms. I haven't had a gnocchi like this before and it was very creative. The corn sauce and piece of corn and also puree. $23 - duck confit fried rice: comes with a piece of duck and a large portion of fried rice with pieces of duck. This was very good and filling. $24 Service - Our drink order of 2 cocktails and 2 wines took a long time to come out. Longer than our food!

Yelp
Lunch here was a culinary highlight of my short trip to Baltimore. Even though Baltimore is known for its seafood, don't rule out other cuisines like the French food at Duck Duck Goose. There weren't many people at the restaurant, so my service was attentive and friendly. It wasn't easy to choose from all of the mouthwatering offerings on the lunch menu, but I decided on a dish that isn't easy to find in my hometown - Duck Confit - and the Herb Lemonade. The Duck Confit was delicious, with crispy skin and tender, savory meat. Underneath the duck was an interesting white bean cassoulet that worked really well to soak up the richness of the duck. It was a heavy meal, so I had to pack the leftovers. After returning to DC, I learned that there is also a second Duck Duck Goose location in DC. If I lived in Baltimore or DC, I would definitely return to try more items on the menu.

Yelp
Still a solid dinner experience! GLOWS: -The ambience is very cute -The overall service is good--- when issues arise, management is super helpful - They provide complimentary champagne with sparklers to celebrate birthdays - I enjoyed the salmon and chicken entrees - The bread service was delicious to me! - The guacamole apps is good and they give you a ton of caviar GROWS: - I prefer sitting in the dining room off to the side. The main/bar area can be extremely cold in the winter and the community table isn't always fun if you don't have good neighbors. - The bathroom is extremely close to the seating, which can also be problematic
google avatar

Chiseko I.

Yelp
I usually cut zucchini, eggplant, and tomatoes into cubes for ratatouille, but I noticed that ratatouille made with sliced vegetables are also delicious. The colorful layers of vegetables looked beautiful. The minced vegetable sauce was flavorful. Duck confi cassoulet was also tasty although I prefer to eat duck and creamy white beans separately to enjoy crisp duck skin. Limonade aux herbes contained passion fruit juice and it was a bit sweet for me. Since it was cold today, I am happy to have these warm dishes for lunch. The timing of serving was perfect. My productivity of work increases after eating a delicious lunch. I am satisfied with the visit there!

Yelp
I really like this restaurant! All the food is great! I love their cocktails and the wait staff is so friendly and attentive. The ambiance is great too! I love all their starters. We got the duck French onion soup. It is warm and has a slight duck flavor from the chunks of duck meat. It goes well with the stewed onions and melted cheese! We also got the escargot. The meat was tender and soft. It was delicious with the butter sauce which went well with the soft bread. Their goat pear salad was good too! The pear was really pretty and purple and it went well with the cheese. The fresh salad was perfect with the sweet pear and creamy cheese. You have to try their duck burger. The meat is so tender and soft. It is so juicy. The meat is well balanced with the sweet jam! I also really liked their lamb shank which was fall off the bone tender. It was also flavored so well. I got the duck breast which was cooked perfectly. It went well with the various assortment of beets. The beets added a nice touch of sweetness to the meal. Their desserts are great too! I really like their caramel croissant bread pudding. It is so soft and fluffy. Also, it has the right level of sweetness. I did enjoy their chai tea dessert. The cream on top goes perfectly with the dense chocolate dessert.

Yelp
Food: pricy but, so is duck (which a majority of the dishes are) I couldn't speak to the DDG burger that's just a beef burger (verified by the waitress when I asked what was so special) but, $36 dollars for a burger was definitely out of my experience. They have high end options. Duck fat used for frying and many other duck options such as the duck pithivier. Duck confit ($30), ratatouille with center cut lamb ($45) all high end options I've not seen anywhere within the midwest. I'd say this place is comparable to 'the dime store' In Detroit. Duck options I've had the duck Philly, amazing and at a reasonable price. The table next to me got the duck liver, looked to be about a 4-6oz size. Service: there was only one server. We walked into the physical place but it was empty, then had a guest think we worked there. They have great outdoor and indoor seating however, a greeter would be great to navigate the large space and not just wonder around. The server was very accommodating and helpful. It did take a bit to get to the table as there was only one service person working. Ambiance: Sitting outside can be great. I personally like to sit inside. If I'm paying for an ambiance, the road noise, Loud music and homeless around my table are not for me. However, the inside was diner type of atmosphere. Small quaint table seating, window seating and very historic type of feel. Overall, a unique experience. Very high class in price and in entrees. Intimate and seating on the road. I appreciate it but, little out of touch with what I was looking for. What brought me here? I did check the menu (outdated) I wanted the duck old fashioned which had changed to be made with rye, so I didn't get that, and the ratatouille used to be a single dish and now it's with the center cut lamb as a side so, I wasn't trying to get that heavy as a dish. I got the fries, they weren't to greasy, the portion sizing was standard and the price for duck fat fries goes from 8-12 anywhere they had them for $9 so, very reasonable. Gets a five for cleanliness, i would give it a 4.5 due to service but, the quality of the service aside from the tentativeness was great

Yelp
This has been on my list for years so we were excited to finally try this place out. The high price tag has always prevented us from coming here but since it was our anniversary dinner we decided to make the reservation and splurge. Onto the food! We started with the Guacamole al la Maison and the French Onion Soup. The Guacamole al la Maison was good and tasted fresh-- but no different in taste than the guacamole you can buy fresh at Whole Foods. However, the caviar was a nice touch and complimented the guacamole well. The French Onion Soup was definitely the star of the show-- the broth was rich in flavor and had a generous amount of duck confit and onions. The top layer of cheese and bread absorbed the flavors of the broth very well. The duck tasted slightly over cooked but was still good. For our main, we shared the Ribeye with the Truffle Mac and Cheese. The Ribeye tasted like it was in the sous vide cooker for a little too long-- almost a big soggy tasting. It was still meat with some seasoning, so it wasn't the worst in the world, just was definitely not worth the price. The way we described it was truly that it's just a slab of meat, nothing more and nothing less. Moreover, it was an incredibly large portion and we couldn't even finish it, so it was definitely perfect for sharing rather than as just one person's entree. The Truffle Mac and Cheese that accompanied the steak was a bit too watery and barely had recognizable notes of truffle. There was a lot of cheese that lathered the noodles so it was still fairly decent. Honestly the food was not worth the price at all-- it did feel like I was throwing away money. The redeeming quality of this place was the impeccable service. The second my water cup was low there was someone ready to fill it up. I am happy that I finally crossed this place off my list but I'm not sure if I will be returning unless the quality of the food improves and the prices match what you are actually getting.

Yelp
Suuuuch a cuuute spot! Ambiance great, food delicious, server was friendly and attentive. I would 100% go back again. Drinks were very very nice. They also have outside seating. In the back they even had a private outdoor patio that would be perfect for a private event. Why didn't i give five stars?........the duck confit and waffles comes with 3 qtrs of the waffle.... Why not just give all four pieces? Also the female bathroom didnt work, so you had to walk all the way through another restaurant and hotel, (that was connected), to get to the substitute bathroom.

Yelp
Located right off the harbor, this restaurant tends to be packed, so I'd recommend making a reservation. There's a $50 fine if you miss it, but still worth it. The service was very attentive and friendly, as you'd expect at an upscale spot like this. Appetizers: We tried the Duck Bucatini (spaghetti, tomato sauce, duck) which featured a very fresh red sauce with chewy al dente noodles. We also got Burrata, which comes with tomatoes and toasted bread for dipping. Both were delicious and impressively big servings. Main dishes: We couldn't miss the Duck Confit, which lived up to its dazzling reviews. I'm not usually one for fatty meat, but this was amazing. It also comes with a potatoes and a yummy sauce. We also tried the Roast Duck, which looks raw but was delicious as well. Overall, you have to try Duck Duck Goose!

Yelp
I was super excited to try this restaurant a few months ago for restaurant week, but my date and I were dissapointed. Perhaps because it was a busy Saturday night, the ambience+dishes did not feel as impressive as I would hope for the price. The restaurant interior is charming, but the tables are crammed close together with limited space for the wait staff to serve. I would not recommend this restaurant for a date night on the weekend - we were often getting bumped by people walking by our table. The service was great. All of the staff seemed really kind and professional. The food was okay, but very underwhelming for the price. The grilled broccolini and poached pear salad felt basic. We were particularly dissapointed by the pasta dish with duck (which I think is not on the normal menu). While it tasted good, it did not taste like a special dish at an expensive restaurant and the peices of duck seemed to be shreds of the least desirable portions of duck. I will not return unfortunately.

Yelp
I popped into DDG for lunch on a sunny afternoon and though it was busy we managed to grab a table by the window. Our server was phenomenal! He paid extreme attention to detail (taking our handbags and placing them on a plus stool), making thoughtful suggestions based on our conversation, and really catering to our needs. He made our last minute lunch date feel so luxurious and decadent. Between the two of us we tried the Croque Madame, Herb roasted chicken Sandwich, French onion soup, croissant bread pudding and took another bread pudding to go! Each dish was expertly prepared, and delicious. The standout by far the French onion soup and bread pudding. The soups broth was so flavorful and the bubbly gooey cheese complimented it so well. I can't wait to come back and try their dinner options!

Yelp
My mom was in town and I knew this would be the type of dining experience she'd appreciate. I made us early reservations on a Wednesday. We were seated immediately and given the option to dine al fresco. They have the cutest Parisian-esque courtyard - you just have to walk through the kitchen entryway to get to it. Nothing major just added to our confusion at the end. Haha. Anyhoo, our server was knowledgeable, attentive and delightful. We never had a need that wasn't met immediately. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name but even her suggestions were spot on. My mom got the Duck Confit which came with a potato cake herbs and duck jus. I got the Crispy Rohan Duck Breast with foie gras, a beet medley and duck jus. We also ordered the Black Truffle Mac and Cheese and Heirloom Carrots to split. We loved every dish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our respective duck and we especially liked the Mac and cheese. I'm so glad we ordered so much because I was able to enjoy this a second time and share with a friend the following day. It was a little too warm out to have drinks so I'll have to dine at the bar on my next visit. Can't wait!

Yelp
I come here just for the scallops in the summer menu! It comes with a side of rice that compliments it. We enjoy the beef options as well, and their first plates are amazing. The broccoline and fried camembert are some of our favorites. The portion sizes are fair in my opinion for the quality of the dish. The staff have always been extra friendly and generous with us, making a great experience all around!

Yelp
Are you looking for a new brunch spot to try out with your friends or even by yourself? May I introduce you to Duck Duck Goose and just like the childhood game you'll enjoy yourself here. We learned about this spot on Tiktok and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was delicious and because we dined on water Sunday, the waiter brought us a glass of wine and bread so we can partake in "brunch communion" (DJM ). My favorite dish was the brunch burger (so rich yet not too heavy), shrimp and grits, and the cocktails are amazing. Can I also mention how the playlist they had that day was lit . There was Afrobeat, R&B, Pop, honestly something for almost everyone. I can't wait to return because I know I will have an amazing time.

Yelp
Did happy hour at Duck Duck Goose! They have some of their speciality cocktails listed for $8. The flower in the sun was my personal favorite. The bartender was also amazing. Will definitely be going back for happy hour!

Yelp
We visited duck duck goose on off hours around 4pm. We were the only ones sitting at the bar and it took us about 15 minutes to be served. The espresso martini was delicious. We did not order food, but overall good vibes, nothing earth shattering. It is in Fells Point so very walkable to the water and to other places around there.

Yelp
Food was good but I was expecting somewhat French themed style. I had the escargot and it was very buttery and flavorful. Could've used a little bit salt. The waiters were excellent it was a friends bday so they gave us two glasses of champagne.. I had wanted a pear martini and the bartender didn't disappoint. Best pear martini aside from my own lol.

Yelp
Tried DDG again and it was better than the last visit. Our waitress was fantastic, even though she was relatively new. She was very attentive, and personable and provided exceptional service. I'm sorry I don't remember her name because she should be recognized. She was younger, with above-the-shoulder blond hair if that helps. She's the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 3. Escargot, pate, and roasted cauliflower were excellent. Duck a L'Orange, and Beef were very good. I would definitely do the Duck a L'Orange again. The downer of the meal was the Duck Fried Rice. Everyone said the rice was overly salty, the duck was good but fairly certain the duck was roasted and not duck confit as advertised. I understand duck confit is more work than roasting but you should refrain from promoting one on your website and replacing it with something different in the restaurant. Finally, we had the same problem as last year. Someone ordered a dish only to find out they had no foie gras to make the dish. Other French restaurants around never have issues getting these poultry items so I'm assuming this is a little mismanagement. Come on DDG, you folks are so much better than this!

Yelp
"Disrespectfully good" croissant bread pudding is a phrase that will not leave my mind anytime soon -- our wonderful waitress said it, immediately convincing us to order it, and it did not disappoint. I've been to DDG several times and I think each time it got better. I personally loved their (summer?) Parisian gnocchi, it was some of my favorite gnocchi I've ever had, exclusively because of the sweet corn sauce. I love a good French onion soup, and DDG definitely knows how to do it (can add duck confit too!). I don't know why I keep ordering vegetarian, but I got the mushroom risotto last time, and it was also super savory and cozy. I especially liked the crunchy parmesan chips against the creamy risotto. The vibes make you feel rich, the service is incredible, the drinks are yummy, the decor is pretty, and it's perfect for a special occasion or just to treat yourself. Excited that I have so many more things to try!

Yelp
We stopped by for a late brunch on a brisk cold Sunday afternoon. We were seated indoors and received prompt and friendly service from our server Britney. The manager Ronnie was great too, making sure we got a nice table a little further from people. I opted to get duck prosciutto and camembert for starters and waffles with duck confit for my main. Everything was delicious. The duck confit really does go well with waffles and syrup (might have ruined chicken and waffles for me now) My boyfriend got the french onion soup and a beet salad which was also pretty tasty. A bit pricey for brunch fare overall, but would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
This is a can't miss brunch place in Baltimore!!!! Service was great, they were full on reservations but able to seat us promptly. The place is decorated beautifully and they played fun music, great atmosphere. For drinks we both enjoyed the Golden Goose. Delicious, beautiful, and it came with a full refill for only $16. For food we split the smoked salmon tower, which is not only super cute (looks like a little tea tower) but was so delicious with so many different topping options. There was so much lox that it would have been enough to split between the two of us if we had gotten some extra bread pieces. We also tried the farmer's salad (basic but delicious) and the French onion soup (VEGETARIAN!). Both were great add ons. Can't wait to return and/or try their location in DC !

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food and service at this really cute restaurant. It's a perfect place for brunch date. The DUCK L'ORANGE cocktail was really unique and soooo delicious. It is nice and smoky but also really rich and flavorful from the duck fat. A truly novel cocktail that makes you crave for more. Really happy I ordered that cocktail. The escargot was also really yummy with a very nice butter sauce. It also comes with toast to get more of the delicious sauce. The Foie Gras burger was also really rich and the well timed. I thought the beef and four gras really complemented each other. It also comes with duck fat fries that are to die for. Perfectly crispy and salted. Overall I had a great time here and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This is a nice little brunch spot in the heart of Fell's. The decor/ambience is great, and the service was fantastic. We tried the following: Eggs benedict ($23) - 3 stars for the somewhat lacklustre hollandaise sauce and the poached eggs which were not runny. The avocado toast with crab meat ($29) - "spring on toast", literally, with little flowers perched on the crab meat. I'd give it 4 stars only because the toast was burnt on some edges. Drinks - la petit mort ($16) - 2 stars. I could barely taste any alcohol, and it went down more like a refreshing spring juice than a cocktail. The portions are sufficient, and the staff are lovely, but I'd have to say it didn't quite hit the spot for the price point. I would go back to give their banana bread pudding a go though.

Yelp
I am a bit conflicted with this review. I thought this restaurant had high highs and low lows. I went for weekend brunch without a reservation. We were seated at small round tables. The seats were uncomfortable because the sank so low. I think they would be extremely uncomfortable with anyone who is taller. The table, although beautiful, was way too small. Our plates were hanging off the edge. The bread plate was delicious. I wish I had just gotten this. The croissant was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The baguette was the same and the honey with butter was delicious! The preserves were also yummy and not too salty. The shrimp and grits was disappointing. The dish was cold. Although the creamy and cheese grits were tasty, the taste was completely overwhelmed by the the tomato sauce. Literally everything on the plate was cold which made it less than desirable. We got the crepes and I would recommend! Yummy Nutella in a thin crepe with fruit on top. Also the coffee was delicious!

Yelp
5 for food but a 3 for service. Though we had a bright window seat, we didn't expect to be sat next to the bar for our anniversary celebration and ignored for the evening. It took about 20 minutes to place our drink orders then another 30 minutes after that to finally place our food order. They didn't have a wine list, so only 5 bold reds to choose from with minimum $60 per bottle. We ended up getting 3 glasses in total ($13-14 per glass)- which in my opinion, the price points dont make sense. For starters, we shared the beef tartare which was amazing and a good portion to share between 2. The runny egg was a great accessory. Next, the duck confit and center cut lamb were equally as tasty. I am glad I opted for the duck confit over the DFR, because that hash brown was one of the best! Both meats were incredibly flavorful and tender. We had ordered the lamb medium rare however, but it came medium well. Both dishes left us satisfied however each felt lacking in either a portion of vegetables (my duck) or a starch (his lamb). Our total bill was $150 before tip.

Yelp
My husband's birthday was this past Saturday, so I surprised him with dinner at Duck, Duck Goose. So many people have been raving about this restaurant and I can see why. Our experience was amazing!! The restaurant itself is very quaint! The quarters are small and close, yet you don't feel crowded. It's is very warm and welcoming. The decor is absolutely gorgeous! The mural on the wall of the ducks and geese is so beautiful! I've been to many restaurants, but this was definitely one of the most visually appealing one to date! The entire restaurant staff was very friendly, from the hostess to the waitresses. They checked on us consistently, offered menu suggestions and even asked us if we were celebrating anything special. I had totally forgotten to tell them that it was my husband's bday, the champagne toast and sparklers at the end of our meal to celebrate his day was definitely a welcomed surprise! Now, to the food! My husband was thoroughly pleased and so was I! The charcuterie board was amazing, if you've never had goat cheese, it's an absolute must, definitely one of my favorites! The escargot was so flavorful, the sauce they were cooked in was excellent. My roasted chicken had a wonderful, crispy skin, yet it was moist on the inside. My husband's duck breast was also very tasty! As you can probably tell from my review, we had a very pleasurable experience at Duck, Duck Goose! I plan on returning is the very near future. If you're looking for the perfect place for a nice date night with your significant other, look no further!

Yelp
Three because you be had diverging experiences that lead me to see it to be good food that is overpriced and with slow service. I love a great a French place And the food is good upscale bistro in fare, but woof on prices. See the burger with fois gras for example. The bummer was a Sunday brunch with deeply disappointing. Waits from food and service. The order went in and waits and waits. We clicked our entire brunch time at over 2.5 hours!!! Not a good business practice either as turning over a table in reasonable time can be smart. The ratatouille is really a delicious dish ...egg dishes good too!

Yelp
My wife asked me where I'd like to eat for my birthday dinner and I could not pass up my chance to try Duck Duck Goose. She's recently sent me a link to their brunch menu and I knew it was a great place for us to try. We love food and exploring new places to expand our pallets, and this menu allowed us to do that. I reviewed the menu at least 4 times the week of because I was excited to try the escargot. We love a good charcuterie and our love for it grew more when one of our favorite rappers mentioned it. So it's always a little laugh for us when we come across one. Located in Fells Point, Duck Duck Goose is amongst all the hustle and bustle of the great bars and other venues. It's very intimate but also great to come enjoy drinks. It was wonderful to sit and look out the window and "people watch" lol. The host and hostess were great with greeting us at the door and confirming our reservation. We were offered water while we waited to be seated, though we did not wait long. The menu isn't huge but it is enough options to whet your appetite. I had the honey roasted duck and my wife chose the herb roasted chicken. The lentils that accompanied the duck were so flavorful and I want the chefs recipe. For the appetizers we had a charcuterie and escargot. Everything tasted amazing and were excellent choices. Again it was a great night and I'm thankful my wife gave me this option for my bday dinner.

Yelp
My boyfriend took me here on a date & let's just say me and him both loved It . The black truffle Mac and cheese was really good . We also enjoyed our entrees . It's pretty pricey but delicious and different so you pay for the experience. My boyfriend ordered the Wagyu sirloin & i got a burger that had foie gras on top of It ( i did not like the text of It ) but the burger itself with the blueberry Jam was really good .

Yelp
I came here on a rainy night and had the steak tartare fledgling and the crispy trout (pictured). It was a lovely experience and I enjoyed it! The place itself has some prime corner real estate in Bethesda but is a little small. Definitely gives off a quaint, french parlour ambience. I found the steak tartare a little underseasoned but the crispy trout was delicious! The only thing that was a little uncomfortable was as more people came in it started to feel a little crowded quickly and I was happy to have finished my meal. But I would recommend as a date spot or outing with friends for a delicious meal with good service!

Yelp
Oh Duck Duck Goose... my long awaited friend. I have been hoping to come here for YEARS and I finally got around to it. Let me just say, it did NOT disappoint. I made a reservation for a fairly early dinner at 5:15pm on a Friday. I was a little worried about parking as Fells Point can be tricky but being that it was so early, I found a spot on the street fairly close by. I have always walked by DDG but never once seen the inside. The decor is a clean, mid-century modern with a touch of vintage. There is very minimal seating indoors which makes this place feel like even more of a neighborhood gem. I was asked to sit at the front lounge area while they finished setting up the back patio area. The wait was very short and I was escorted to my table by a friendly hostess. The one thing to keep in mind about the back patio is that you have to walk through a hallway that is right near the kitchen. Be prepared for the host/hostess or your server to loudly proclaim"GUEST COMING THROUGH" as you walk to and from your table. This was a little cringey but I just had to laugh it off. Once outside, the back patio truly feels like a slice of Paris. I've never been to Paris... so I have no idea what I'm talking about... but it's what I imagine Paris to be like. My server, Michael, was the sweetest. He was super helpful and accommodating and made sure to explain the menu to me. I'm one of those people who always looks at the menu beforehand and I had in mind what I wanted. But once Michael explained the Duck Confit to me, I completely changed the order I had in mind. I ended up ordering a glass of prosecco, a side farmers salad to start, and the Duck Confit. Prosecco - very refreshing! Michael told me he had just opened a new bottle. The cocktails, in my opinion, are too pricey ($16 regardless of which one you get) so I stuck with my $9 wine. Maybe the cocktails are really good? But I just couldn't justify it! Farmer's Salad - this is listed on the menu as a side but it is a generous serving. Very fresh and generously slathered with dressing that was flavorful enough without being overpowering. Duck Confit - the absolute star of the show. I'm not a duck person - I actually barely eat meat. I think I may have had a bad experience with duck before because I always perceived it to be chewy. This was the opposite! The first bite absolutely melted in my mouth. I was in heaven. From the presentation of the wine sherry being carefully poured onto the plate when it arrives at your table, to the pairing with the potato cake, to the perfectly crispy skin and delicate meat inside. I walked in as a person who was not a fan of duck and walked out a true fanatic! I guess you can say DDG officially converted me. Thanks, DDG! I'll definitely be back to try more and say hi to my new friend, Michael.

Yelp
Chic atmosphere in this Fells staple. Food and drink are pricier than most, but some items are well worth the cost. The duck fat old fashioned and tartare are especially good. The bartenders are skilled and great hosts.

Yelp
I went here on a date & when I tell you that I couldn't have chosen a better restaurant. The food was amazing & well seasoned, the atmosphere was intoxicating the staff was pleasant & had such amazing energy!!! I will return here for as many times as I can!! The duck confit was spectacular to say the least. The fries were crispy, and the mac and cheese was for lack of a better word delicious. The drinks were phenomenal. I left this place with a full stomach & nothing left on my plate . If you're in the Fells Point area I definitely suggest making this a restaurant to frequent.

Yelp
I took a group of friends out here for a girl's night and was not at all impressed with the food. It was incredibly expensive, greasy, burned, and the only flavor I could make out was "salt". I felt bloated and dehydrated after eating here. The staff was nice, the food was gross. Meh.

Yelp
Wanting something good to eat, I came to this place hoping for the best. Food - Not the best. There's nothing I would really recommend as it was all just meh. Service - Nice and friendly Parking - Some alleys nearby Overall, this place is decent, just not as amazing as they used to be.

Yelp
Duck Yeah! Charming little French spot in the heart of Fells Point that is a perfect for a romantic dinner. Very cool ambiance and vibes. The French onion soup and ratatouille were delicious starters! Both were so rich and flavorful. The DDG burger (sorry I didn't get a great picture) was definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had. The Duck on it was so tender and the the burger was perfectly cooked and delicious. The roasted chicken was spectacular as well!

Yelp
DDG has a quaint, homey ambiance that is perfect for a date night... were it not for the loud club music of early 2000's being blasted in the space. Not really sure what vibe they're trying to go for, however the music selection was excellent and it brought me back to my college clubbing days. lol - whatever vibe it's supposed to be, it's fun. The food is also excellent. We enjoyed everything from the cheeses and charcuterie, the ratatouille and the Parisian gnocchi. The corn and mushrooms in the gnocchi make the dish; so delicious! The espresso martinis are perfection. If I lived in the area, I'd be back for drinks alone repeatedly. Overall, DDG is a great dining option if you're not in the mood for seafood!
