"When ordering peking duck at Duck House, the menu is broken into three tiers: For $79, you get a whole roasted duck with a traditional spread. For $91, you get the duck “two ways”: the traditional spread and one other duck dish of your choice (bean sprouts, soup, or a deep-fried duck bone.) The third tier, at $103, comes with the traditional spread and two duck dishes. There’s a lot to parse, so we’ll keep it simple. Get the second tier and order the bean sprouts as your extra dish. They’re warm, savory, and the perfect complement to the rich duck." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren

"Our Favorite Dish: Peking Duck (call 30 minutes in advance) This classic restaurant requires you to call at least 30 minutes in advance to reserve your duck, because they spend hours preparing their birds the night before, and sometimes run out. But at least you know you’re getting the real deal - their duck has an excellent, not-too-gamey flavor, with plenty of crispy skin that basically tastes like duck bacon. Bring a group of friends, reserve a couple of ducks, and go to town building wraps using the rice paper “pancakes” and plum sauce they provide." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox, brett keating

"Movie Pairing:The Last Black Man in San Francisco (Prime) “There are so many reasons to love The Last Black Man in San Francisco - the incredible cinematography, the ways it weaves in complex issues like gentrification and displacement without being heavy-handed, Danny Glover. Plus, it’s a two-hour love-letter to the San Francisco I know and love. One of my favorite memories from when I lived there was when I’d walk to Irving St. with my boyfriend at the time, and we’d order all the char siu, bao, and duck we could carry, then pick it all apart with our hands while watching French bulldogs celebrate their birthday in Golden Gate Park (this absolutely a real anecdote). And while we can’t do that anymore, you can still order whole Peking ducks from Lu Din Gee, a Taiwanese restaurant in Monterey Park that specializes in Beijing-style birds, inexplicably. Call (626) 284-3227 to set up a delivery or takeout.” - KH" - brant cox, kat hong, brett keating, james montgomery

Absolutely amazing experience. Some of the best food I've had in the San Gabriel Valley. The quality of the food was undeniably fresh and well prepared. everything was extremely flavorful, clean, and meticulously prepared. The peking duck was better than any I've had in the US and even better than many in China. Atmosphere was also perfect and clean. The matching silverware was beautiful and showed their attention to detail. Will absolutely come again.

Every time I am craving duck I come to this restaurant. They usually seat people quick and cook fast as well. The ambiance overall is nice and the service is great. I recommend buying the duck and you can get the combo in which they serve the duck with a soup. Besides the duck I like the steamed black cod. I usually also order the sweet buns too and different kinds of sautéed vegetable dishes

I recently dined at Duck House Restaurant and had an amazing experience! I ordered the Peking duck, which was beautifully prepared and incredibly flavorful. The crispy skin paired perfectly with the tender meat. I also tried the cucumber salad, which was refreshing and a great complement to the richness of the duck. Overall, the Dinner was delicious, and I highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine.

Ample space, good ambiance, tasteful menu. Came in today for dinner, originally recommended by a family member. Looking at the menu immediately gives you a good impression on the experience. Ordered a good amount enough for my party of 4. Ice plant - good sauce, never tried this before but it was a great. Heard from the owner that it’s seasonal and they grow it themselves, so you can expect the quality to be good. And besides, it’s all organic which is always good to hear. Peking duck - a bit different from the Peking ducks I’ve had in the past, but they do it good here. Presentation is unique. Very good overall, not much to say about a good Peking duck. 5/5 Fillet mignon steak cubes - sat on a bed of onions, they continue with the tasteful presentation here. It tastes as good as it sits on the plate. 4/5 Mapo tofu - Again, a very unique presentation on the dish, not as spicy as traditional Mapo tofu but very umami and always a good side if you have rice.

We had a reservation for 4 on a Saturday night, but still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was packed and noisy, and we were crammed in the entrance. Surrounded by crying babies and clattering plates. It was difficult to hear each other. The service was inadequate, despite having a service button at our table. Our servers seemed forgetful, taking 20 minutes to bring us ice water after we asked. However, the food was a highlight - the duck was excellent, and we enjoyed both the traditional and cumin-seasoned fried bones. The steak and onions were juicy and flavorful, and the truffle lobster, string beans, and jellyfish salad were also tasty. However, the timing of the dishes were off, with the fried rice arriving last and disrupting the flow of the meal. Considering the high prices, I didn't feel that the experience was worth it, especially compared to other options.

The food here is absolutely delicious, especially the roast duck — it’s flavorful, tender, and the crispy skin is just perfect. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the dining experience even better. The restaurant is also very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic and tasty food in a great atmospher!

This place is really good. I was very surprised by how good all the food was. 1. Ice plant: Tender, crispy, ocean flavor. 2. Duck 2 ways: chicharon skin without gamie flavor. Duck fat bean sprouts were very flavorful. 3. Filet mignon beef: Black bean paste marinated and fried, crispy and tender. 4. Fried rock fish: Show stopper with a hint of citrus.

Located out in Monterey Park, is a fabulous Chinese cuisine, it has a traditional look for a restaurant, with ample seating. The parking lot is scarce with availability, so you’ll have to park on the street. We ordered the Traditional Roasted Duck (24 hours in advance), with pancake, scallion and cucumber. Very good and crispy. They placed the serving plate on top of a bowl of hot water to keep the food warm, that was genius. Loved the deep rich flavors that were combined to make this scrumptious meal. We also ordered the Filet Mignon cubes in black pepper sauce. The beef cubes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tender with every bite, loved every bite. The Sauteed string bean with ground pork and dry shrimp was a nice addition as it help round out the flavors. The Dragon Ball that is lightly fried fish balls with shrimp roe’s filling was a surprisingly delicious treat that added to our experience. The Crispy scallion pancake was a must have as it gave the full experience needed to enjoy this hefty meal. The service was faster than expected, as this place is on the higher end of quality food, which is a good thing. I would definitely come back, just because the flavors are so good.
