The 6 Best Restaurants For Peking Duck In LA

"When ordering peking duck at Duck House, the menu is broken into three tiers: For $79, you get a whole roasted duck with a traditional spread. For $91, you get the duck “two ways”: the traditional spread and one other duck dish of your choice (bean sprouts, soup, or a deep-fried duck bone.) The third tier, at $103, comes with the traditional spread and two duck dishes. There’s a lot to parse, so we’ll keep it simple. Get the second tier and order the bean sprouts as your extra dish. They’re warm, savory, and the perfect complement to the rich duck." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren

The Best Places To Eat In The San Gabriel Valley

"Our Favorite Dish: Peking Duck (call 30 minutes in advance) This classic restaurant requires you to call at least 30 minutes in advance to reserve your duck, because they spend hours preparing their birds the night before, and sometimes run out. But at least you know you’re getting the real deal - their duck has an excellent, not-too-gamey flavor, with plenty of crispy skin that basically tastes like duck bacon. Bring a group of friends, reserve a couple of ducks, and go to town building wraps using the rice paper “pancakes” and plum sauce they provide." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox, brett keating

The LA (Takeout) Dinner & A Movie Guide

"Movie Pairing:The Last Black Man in San Francisco (Prime) “There are so many reasons to love The Last Black Man in San Francisco - the incredible cinematography, the ways it weaves in complex issues like gentrification and displacement without being heavy-handed, Danny Glover. Plus, it’s a two-hour love-letter to the San Francisco I know and love. One of my favorite memories from when I lived there was when I’d walk to Irving St. with my boyfriend at the time, and we’d order all the char siu, bao, and duck we could carry, then pick it all apart with our hands while watching French bulldogs celebrate their birthday in Golden Gate Park (this absolutely a real anecdote). And while we can’t do that anymore, you can still order whole Peking ducks from Lu Din Gee, a Taiwanese restaurant in Monterey Park that specializes in Beijing-style birds, inexplicably. Call (626) 284-3227 to set up a delivery or takeout.” - KH" - brant cox, kat hong, brett keating, james montgomery

Google
The Peking Duck here is absolutely phenomenal—crispy skin, tender juicy meat. It’s easily the best I’ve had outside of Beijing! The pancakes were soft and warm, and with the hoisin sauce, scallions, and cucumber, every bite was a perfect balance of flavors. Beyond the duck, the menu has plenty of other delicious dishes worth trying, but honestly, the duck alone makes the trip worthwhile. The staff were attentive and made the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. If you love authentic Chinese cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. I highly recommend the Peking Duck—it’s their signature dish, and it lives up to the reputation.

Google
I had an amazing dining experience here! The Peking duck was beautifully presented — the crispy skin was perfectly roasted and the meat was tender and flavorful. The pancakes were thin and soft, and when paired with the fresh scallions, cucumber, and the rich hoisin sauce, every bite was deliciously balanced. The plating was elegant, and the portion size was generous. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right. This is definitely one of the best places for authentic Peking duck I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend!

Google
Duck House in Monterey Park is one of the best spots around if you’re in the mood for Peking duck. The duck comes out with super crispy skin, juicy meat, and all the fixings to wrap it up just right. It’s definitely the highlight, but the rest of the menu—like the seafood, noodles, and stir-fried dishes—are also solid and full of flavor. The place feels a little upscale but still comfortable enough for family dinners or hanging out with friends. It can get busy, so service might feel a little rushed sometimes, but overall it’s a tasty, reliable spot that’s worth checking out.

Google
Absolutely amazing experience. Some of the best food I've had in the San Gabriel Valley. The quality of the food was undeniably fresh and well prepared. everything was extremely flavorful, clean, and meticulously prepared. The peking duck was better than any I've had in the US and even better than many in China. Atmosphere was also perfect and clean. The matching silverware was beautiful and showed their attention to detail. Will absolutely come again.

Google
I came to Duck House Restaurant expecting to be wowed by the Peking duck, and while the duck was indeed impressive, the real star of the show was, surprisingly, the lobster. It's easy to overlook a seafood dish at a place named after duck, but that would be a huge mistake. The lobster was an absolute masterpiece. It was incredibly fresh, with a succulent, sweet flavor that spoke to its quality. The preparation was simple but perfect, allowing the natural taste of the lobster to shine through without being overpowered by heavy sauces or seasonings. Each piece was tender and cooked just right, pulling cleanly from the shell. The portion size was also generous, making it a fantastic value. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was great for a family dinner. But truly, if you visit Duck House, you have to try the lobster. It's a hidden gem on the menu and a dish I'll be coming back for again and again. It completely redefined my expectations and proved that a place can excel at more than just its namesake.

The neon sign on this restaurant had always intrigued me as I drove down Atlantic but a Cantonese friend of mine told me that it was only so-so. But he knows his duck and I just started on this path. The worm wanted duck and we went and it was delicious and succulent and we had a great time. The vegetable dishes or really well done and for the first time I got pork ribs. And they were good really good the vegetables were really high quality, we got that bok choy and oyster mushrooms and the cucumber salad which I believe had a touch of zanthoxylum oil , which is what I put in my cucumber salad when I make it. Hostess was really friendly and Shelly was very efficient. Also the tea was outstanding it was a pinkish gold Jasmine that I really liked and we saved the whole pot while digesting the fowl and Flora

Google
Every time I am craving duck I come to this restaurant. They usually seat people quick and cook fast as well. The ambiance overall is nice and the service is great. I recommend buying the duck and you can get the combo in which they serve the duck with a soup. Besides the duck I like the steamed black cod. I usually also order the sweet buns too and different kinds of sautéed vegetable dishes

Google
I recently dined at Duck House Restaurant and had an amazing experience! I ordered the Peking duck, which was beautifully prepared and incredibly flavorful. The crispy skin paired perfectly with the tender meat. I also tried the cucumber salad, which was refreshing and a great complement to the richness of the duck. Overall, the Dinner was delicious, and I highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine.

Yelp
Good food, great service, nice music, would come again with more friends! Would be better if there's different sizes for the duck.

Yelp
We love to dine at Duck House everytime when we visit from San Francisco. My kids love their Rosted Peking Duck in Three Ways.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was great and flavorful. The service was nice and fast. I highly recommend this restaurant. The prices were also reasonable. Not too distant from Pasadena.

Yelp
Delicious beijing duck!! They only offer the duck at 7 PM for dinner so keep that in mind before coming. Would definitely return if I was in the area

Yelp
We have been coming here for a long time for special occasions like birthdays and get togethers with old friends. We love the duck so much that sometimes when it's 3 of us we just order 3 Peking ducks, 1 for each of us. They have a good variety of dishes and they are all prepared and presented beautifully. In addition to the Peking duck, other must have dishes include the baked eel with sticky rice, braised pork belly, crystal shrimp, and stir fried satay beef noodles. The restaurant itself is very clean and nicely decorated. They play classical music in the background. The service is prompt and attentive. It can get busy so make reservations ahead of time. If you want a Peking duck, you will definitely need a reservation and tell them how many ducks you want.

Yelp
Very tasty and high quality Good atmosphere Good food Great service The duck is delicious

Yelp
This is my second time coming to Duck House. I especially love the duck bone soup that comes with the Peking Duck course. I tried the Ice Plant with Sesame Sauce for the first time. I loved the texture - very crispy and delicate. But the taste was quite acidic, don't think I'd get it again. The sesame dressing helped but still not my favorite taste. Service was great, and ambiance is modern and elegant. Neither factor into my review though, my rating is just for the food.

Yelp
I ordered Peking duck to go, called one hour ahead before pick up. The duck skin was crispy, and the entire dish was not greasy! It looks like they took off most of the layer of fat underneath the skin, and the meat was cut up in small pieces. Very easy to eat without a single bone.,,such as from the legs or thighs of the meat. They serve it with a bowl of scallions, cucumbers and delicate, thin tortillas. I actually prefer these thin tortillas over the white bun. The duck portion seemed a bit smaller than other places, but it was delicious.

Yelp
All the entries were great at Duck House. The duck was excellent--crispy, flavorful, and well-prepared. Portion sizes across the board were generous and satisfying. My only complaint is that there weren't enough wrappers served with the duck, which made it a bit hard to enjoy all of it the way it's meant to be eaten. Otherwise, a great experience overall. Service is quick and restaurant is clean. Bathroom is dirty.

Yelp
Great food, really love the service and speed. Ambience is good for a date and for larger parties

Yelp
Calming ambiance, delicious food, the most friendly customer service, and clean restrooms! First time coming here and I already want to come back soon.

Yelp
Thank you John, Shelly & Team for excellent service and super yummy duck & food spread
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and got the jellyfish salad and the duck two ways. Jellyfish was refreshing and the duck was bomb. Idk if I prefer the little baos at other places or the wraps they have here, but they are both good. Duck soup was solid also. Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Yelp
One of our family's favorite restaurants in Monterey Park, the manager and the owner always make you feel welcome The food always keeps up with good quality that's why we always want to come back!
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Have been coming here for Peking duck for the last two years. It's definitely my favorite place to go to and I keep bringing my friends and coworkers over. To be honest, the service is better than your typical Chinese restaurant so I'm pretty happy with it. They have set menus for bigger parties as well. If you love Peking duck, I'd give this place a try.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing peking duck!! The wrap is delicious and we ordered a second serving. Looks like it's a great setting for large family dinners and has street parking/parking lot in the front. Would definitely come back again

Yelp
Came on a Saturday evening for a party so we had the back room reserved. It has two large tables that can comfortable accommodate 20 people. The room has a service button you can push to call for staff. Tables are the rotating type for family style eating. Dishes are all family style as well. Their specialty is of course duck so the Peking Duck was the star of the show. Skin was crispy. Meat was tender, albeit a bit dry without the sauce. The crepe paired perfectly with the duck. The fresh cucumber and scallions added even more texture, was refreshing, and balanced the fat of the duck skin. The fish, although it looked nice, was a bit lacking. It felt like they fried it and slathered it in super sweet and salty sauce to mask the "fishy" taste that comes from not as fresh fish. They provided utensils and disposable plates for cake that we brought. The parking lot isn't very big but we had no issues with finding a spot. They have a lunch special, but we didn't get a chance to try. Maybe we will come again to check it out!

Yelp
Brought my family to try this amazing place. Every dish is a 10/10 and they agree!! We had sour and spicy soup, stir fried eggplant, tangerine chicken, sautéed string beans and bamboo with tofu!!

Katrina S.

Yelp
Duck is so good as always! This tofu dish is worth to try! The cold dish of jelly fish very delicious !
google avatar

Sabrina L.

Yelp
Consistently yummy! Been here 10yrs ago with family and the quality is the same and service is friendly
google avatar

Becky C.

Yelp
We came to Duck House and ordered the Peking duck three way which included traditional style duck, a soup, and fried duck bones. The duck skin was perfectly crisp and flavorful. My personal favorite was the fried duck bones because the seasoning was so good it was hard to stop eating. The traditional style was solid and my dad loved the duck soup the most for its rich and comforting flavor. Service was great and the interior was clean and elegant. Also worth noting they are a non tipping restaurant which was a pleasant surprise.
google avatar

Chan F.

Yelp
Peking duck skin is super crunchy yummy!!! Came here 40 mins for this and the drive is worthy with the peking duck and whole duck for 2 is super full
google avatar

Ray C.

Yelp
Went here for my father's bday. Ordered the duck 1 way, house fried rice, sweet and sour pork ribs, and cold chicken in wine sauce. Food was very satisfying, but not mind blowing. Service was very friendly and food came out fast! Definitely lives up to the reputation
google avatar

Yvonne Y.

Yelp
I have come here many times! Both the food and service are excellent! Absolutely the BEST roast duck in LA!

Judy C.

Yelp
Great service tasty food and comfortable environment. I shall try the duck next time.

Yelp
Food was delicious! We had duck two ways, which was the Peking duck and duck soup. Also got the mala sesame cognac konjac that was really refreshing. Then finished off with a glutinous rice black sesame soup!

Yelp
Service was good. Owner and waitress were very friendly. Did the lucky draw hoping to win a labubu. Ended up getting a $15 voucher for next visit.

Christine W.

Yelp
Delicious food and nice ambiance! We got the duck because of course! Crispy skin and delightful pancakes. Would also recommend the steamed black cod!

Kevin Z.

Yelp
Good here was amazing with good staff and very responsive. 10/10 would recommend! We had the duck and a bunch other dishes. The jellyfish was amazing.

Darla M.

Yelp
Peking Duck is soo good! The skin is super crispy, and the meat is juicy and flavorful. This dish is a must-try. Plus, service is really good. And there was ample parking space. Definitely 10/10 would recommend

Tiff F.

Went for a friends birthday, the Peking duck was delicious, especially the skin! Would recommend.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
BEST PEKING DUCK EVER! I would come drive to LA just for this dish. It was amazing and the service was great too.
google avatar

Leeza D.

Yelp
We celebrated a birthday here at the restaurant. Reservation advised and the Peking duck must be ordered in advance. We were seated in a semi private room. The Peking duck meat was moist and tender and the skin was crispy. This gets wrapped up in a Chinese equivalent of a tortilla with sauce and green onions. What an absolute treat. We ordered other dishes like shrimp curry, green beans and eggplant. Soup came with the meal and I personally very much enjoyed the tofu and Napa cabbage soup. The meal is special as we shared it with special family and friends. The restaurant gives you the option to take the duck carcass home, which I did and I'm eager to make soup k. Parking is in a small lot. Good service. Seating was comfortable in the semi private room. Please visit to create your own experience.

Davey W.

Yelp
Very pleasant experience. The food came within 10 minutes and it was great. The staff were also very friendly. Food was great!!
google avatar

Martin K.

Yelp
The main focus here is the traditional style of preparation, puffing up the skin for a crispy wafer-like crunchy texture. The crispy skin is separated from the tender duck meat. We definitely made a good call for a reservation with two peking ducks. Other decent dishes are oyster mushroom bok choy and black pepper filet mignon. Our family has been coming here for long time way, and now it looks refreshed and more polished than before. We came here to celebrate a family birthday, and we were seated at a big table in a room for more private ambiance. The service was great with desserts and cake at the end too!
google avatar

Gabbie T.

Yelp
Best Peking duck in SGV, and really great service! Also they have yummy dessert and spicy szechuan foods

Qingjiao Y.

Yelp
Delicious! The duck is a must but make sure you call in advance to place an order! I will definitely come again especially because of all the delicious dessert spots nearby!
google avatar

Desiree D.

Yelp

Yelp
Great food and our waitress was lovely. Walnut shrimp and black cod were fresh and tasty. We come here for family celebrations and always enjoy our meals.

Yelp
This place doesn't disappoint whenever I come here. The Peking duck is legit worth it. Remember to order an hour in advance by calling it in. Service is good. But you don't come for quality service. I come for the duck!
