The 6 Best Restaurants For Peking Duck In LA

"When ordering peking duck at Duck House, the menu is broken into three tiers: For $79, you get a whole roasted duck with a traditional spread. For $91, you get the duck “two ways”: the traditional spread and one other duck dish of your choice (bean sprouts, soup, or a deep-fried duck bone.) The third tier, at $103, comes with the traditional spread and two duck dishes. There’s a lot to parse, so we’ll keep it simple. Get the second tier and order the bean sprouts as your extra dish. They’re warm, savory, and the perfect complement to the rich duck." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren

The Best Places To Eat In The San Gabriel Valley

"Our Favorite Dish: Peking Duck (call 30 minutes in advance) This classic restaurant requires you to call at least 30 minutes in advance to reserve your duck, because they spend hours preparing their birds the night before, and sometimes run out. But at least you know you’re getting the real deal - their duck has an excellent, not-too-gamey flavor, with plenty of crispy skin that basically tastes like duck bacon. Bring a group of friends, reserve a couple of ducks, and go to town building wraps using the rice paper “pancakes” and plum sauce they provide." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox, brett keating

The LA (Takeout) Dinner & A Movie Guide

"Movie Pairing:The Last Black Man in San Francisco (Prime) “There are so many reasons to love The Last Black Man in San Francisco - the incredible cinematography, the ways it weaves in complex issues like gentrification and displacement without being heavy-handed, Danny Glover. Plus, it’s a two-hour love-letter to the San Francisco I know and love. One of my favorite memories from when I lived there was when I’d walk to Irving St. with my boyfriend at the time, and we’d order all the char siu, bao, and duck we could carry, then pick it all apart with our hands while watching French bulldogs celebrate their birthday in Golden Gate Park (this absolutely a real anecdote). And while we can’t do that anymore, you can still order whole Peking ducks from Lu Din Gee, a Taiwanese restaurant in Monterey Park that specializes in Beijing-style birds, inexplicably. Call (626) 284-3227 to set up a delivery or takeout.” - KH" - brant cox, kat hong, brett keating, james montgomery

"Offering free delivery of its roast Peking duck with a minimum $25 order, Duck House in Monterey Park was featured in a Hangry Diary Instagram story shared by the Wongs as an example of the kinds of SGV restaurants they’re promoting to show what’s available for curbside or delivery right now." - Matthew Kang

Google
Duck House in Monterey Park is out of this world. The duck skin is perfectly crispy, wrapped with freshly cut spring onions, house sauce, and ultra-thin warm tortillas. The braised pork belly is buttery soft and melts in your mouth. Don’t miss the underrated dishes. The wine-marinated chicken and the marinated cucumbers & jellyfish are refreshing and addictive. The fried rice is fluffy, deeply flavorful, and you can truly taste the egg. Service is a solid 4.8 stars. Believe me, I am picky. Duck House is a must-visit in Monterey Park.

Michelle C.

Google
The Peking Duck here is absolutely phenomenal—crispy skin, tender juicy meat. It’s easily the best I’ve had outside of Beijing! The pancakes were soft and warm, and with the hoisin sauce, scallions, and cucumber, every bite was a perfect balance of flavors. Beyond the duck, the menu has plenty of other delicious dishes worth trying, but honestly, the duck alone makes the trip worthwhile. The staff were attentive and made the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. If you love authentic Chinese cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. I highly recommend the Peking Duck—it’s their signature dish, and it lives up to the reputation.

Google
Duck House in Monterey Park was really good. Everything we ordered was comforting and flavorful. The duck was juicy and not too heavy. The lighter dishes balanced the meal really well. Nothing felt overdone, just simple and satisfying. The food felt warm and comforting overall. The environment was super chill and relaxed. Great spot for sharing dishes with friends. Easy place to take your time and enjoy. Would definitely come back.

Miranda L.

Google
Had the duck three ways there. The duck skin is very crispy. The flavor is very good as well. Quite generous portion as well. The duck soup was also nice and tasty. Service here is impeccable, very friendly. Quite nice of a restaurant with traditional decors and instrumental music. Good for conversation.

Yan Y.

Google
The roast duck here is definitely worth trying! The skin is perfectly crispy and fragrant, while the meat underneath is lean and tender without being greasy — you can really taste the quality. I especially liked that the fat under the duck skin is well-rendered, making it a lighter, healthier version compared to traditional roast duck.

Google
Peking duck was good. A little on the pricey side but worth the cost. We also ordered onion pancake, green beans, and chow mein. All the food was good and had good flavor. Service was great and the staff was very attentive. No crowds on a Monday night.

Jim H.

Google
The food was not as good as they used to be. We had the duck in three way and the babao chicken both needed to be reserved in advance. The duck is good as always but the side green onion are not fresh and they didn't use the small cucumber as veggie. The chicken is quite small and we can barely find the sea cucumber in there while mainly are the mushrooms. The most disappointing dish is the fried shrimp which is definitely overcooked while the breading are all messed up. Good place for friends and families gethering but they really need to get their food quality back the same as old time.

Jen K.

Google
I usually go there when my dad visiting from Korea. This is must place he want to come when he is visiting me. I went again for my FIL’s birthday with all my in laws. He loved the duck so much! My MIL does not like peiking duck, but she was satisfy as well. Skins are crispy, and meats are juicy and tender. One thing is it is better to order estra pancake and cucumber/scallio because it is always not enough. Other side foods are all so good as well. I love bokchoi with dry scallops and crab as well and fried rice is soooooo good. Waitress who served us were so nice too. Warm greetings and explanations and when we need something, she was not hesitated. Now my FIL wants to visit here again for my husband’s birthday 🤣 I need to visit here again soon.

Carina H.

Yelp
The best Beijing duck in the area! The skin is super crispy, and the portion size is generous. The lotus leaf pancakes that come with the duck are so thin and soft -- absolutely delicious. The sweet & sour pork spareribs are tender and full of flavor. Service is excellent -- friendly and attentive. The restaurant is also very clean and comfortable. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

Yelp
Duck was dank. Everything else was great as well! Would come again! Bring the family!

Yelp
Duck is very juicy and flavorful. Service is good. Recommend to come with your family and friends.

Yelp
We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Duck House and it couldn't have been a better choice! The food was absolutely delicious. the roast duck was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, beautifully presented (just look at that plate!). Highly recommend Duck House for any special occasion or really, any time you're craving amazing duck and a great dining experience!
google avatar

Jeanie L.

Yelp
Just finished family dinner here and left so full. We ordered the set for 6 people and it was plenty of food for us. We even had leftovers to pack! The highlight was definitely the duck. The skin was so crispy and the meat was pretty tender. Service was pretty good maybe because we were sitting in the room so they were very attentive. Will definitely be coming here again in the future!
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday and wow, everything was so good! My wife and I loved the cozy, family-style vibe -- it felt like one of those meals where everyone just keeps passing dishes around and everything's a hit. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp (perfectly crispy and coated in that sweet mayo sauce), the Filet Mignon Cubes in Black Pepper Sauce (so tender and flavorful), Stir-Fried String Beans (super tasty and fresh), and of course the star of the show, the Peking Duck. The duck was crispy, juicy, and came with the little pancakes, scallions, and sauce... perfection. Service was great too. It was friendly, fast, and super attentive without hovering. Definitely one of the best Chinese meals we've had in a while. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
It is hard to beat my fav place in this category, Ji Rong, as I am sure these 2 places get compared a lot. But glad to have tried this is in a large group setting so I could try almost what felt like all the dishes on the menu. The peking duck was so tender and juicy, we ended up ordering 3 rounds because it kept getting instantly demolished, inspite all the other dishes we had too. It was also nice that all the other dishes were solid too, with the veggies and fish dishes as super standouts. This is a great place for a large group. Bring people and eat family style, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Trinny T.

Yelp
I called the place at 11am to get reservation for 12pm. They would pick up despite opening at 11:30am. The restaurant is situated in its own lot so all parking spaces are for them. The restaurant is smaller compared to Ji Rong and less crowded when I came on Saturday. The food was served so quickly after we ordered. And we ordered way too much for a table of 2. All the food options are unique and diverse. Peking duck 5/5. The duck skin is crispy. I think Ji Rong duck and here is comparable though Ji Rock includes the thighs. Oyster mushroom and bok choy 5/5 no complaint on this. It was displayed nicely and cooked well. Pork belly 4/5 I wish they cut the cubes smaller. They're too big. Deep fried duck bone in cumin 5/5 I had no problem finding meats on the bones. It is not spicy though. String potatoes 3/5 they are oily and slippery to pick up with chopsticks. But they taste good. Overall service is amazing. They refill my water. I forgot my bucket hat and the lady came out to hand it to me! There is a service fee of 16% included already.

Yelp
In general, I do not like duck, however, we were celebrating a milestone birthday and the birthday girl wanted duck. Surprisingly I really liked the duck, the skin was very crispy, and there was a fatty layer underneath with flavor, full dark meat that you wrap with some veggies and sauce. Everyone agreed that it was quite delicious. Another item that was a big hit was eel over rice, the eel was very soft and flavorful and the rice was similar to what you get in the sticky rice wrapped in leaves (i don't know what that's called but it's usually shaped like a triangle). The rest of the dishes were good but not memorable, the dessert was well like by others, but I thought the egg soup was a little weird, it's too similar to egg flour soup, which I dislike, but I did love the sesame rice balls, they seemed homemade. The place is small but nicely decorated and the parking lot is small. The service was good.

Yelp
It's been a while, but we came by for family dinner. Everything was delicious! Love the Peking Duck! Service was great! Ambiance is nice.
google avatar

Carmen L.

Yelp
Came here to eat dinner with my family. First time here and needed to try their delicious duck! Crispy and juicy. This was enough to share with 6 people. Each person was able to eat more than 3 pieces.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Great service! Yummy duck dish, great for family dinners as the environment is cozy. Would recommend the beef fish (filet mignon cubes) as well!
google avatar

Anna Y.

Yelp
This is my favorite duck place, I crave it! The duck is crispy and all the dishes are delicious. Plus the service is the best, attentive and friendly! Must try!
google avatar

Yelp
If you're craving authentic Peking duck, Monterey Park Duck House is a must. We ordered the Peking duck and soup combo, and it was the star of the meal. The duck came out perfectly roasted with crisp, golden skin and tender meat, paired with warm pancakes and hoisin sauce. Pro tip: make a reservation if you want Peking duck, since they prepare it fresh!!! The second course -- the duck bone soup -- was rich and comforting, with a clean savory flavor that felt light yet deeply satisfying. Beyond the food, the restaurant has an elegant ambiance with soft lighting and background music that makes the meal feel more upscale and special. Very intimate space! Service was efficient, and the portions are generous. Definitely a spot worth coming back to when the craving for Peking duck hits.
google avatar

Connor M.

Yelp
Truly the best duck in town. Totally worth the trip to 626. We had the best time in the private room. Loved it!
google avatar

Catherine Z.

Yelp
Delicious beijing duck!! They only offer the duck at 7 PM for dinner so keep that in mind before coming. Would definitely return if I was in the area
google avatar

Kyle K.

Yelp
Food was good. Everything had good flavor. Prices are a bit high. Service was great, staff was very attentive.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and service. The ambiance is good. We ordered the duck one hour ahead and the food was served on time.

Kitty C.

Yelp
One of my favorite dish ~ Peking Duck Quiet ambience and food served quickly. Reasonable portions

Yelp
Duck house was delicious. We ordered many dishes but the duck was outstanding. The service was quick and everyone was friendly. I would come back again to try more dishes or try the lunch special!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Good dining environment. Would definitely come visit again.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was great! We came here for the Peking Duck and we ordered other dishes and everything was so good! We would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Food was good. Eggplant and Peking duck was our favorite. The service was great and attentive! I would come back again.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
The Peking duck is great here as are all the other dishes. Some choice picks: eggplant, mapo tofu, fried buns. Service is amazing!!
google avatar

Sabrina Y.

Yelp
The food of course. Besides the Duck, we've also ordered the shrimps, beef, veggie, the applizer and of course the soup. The Chef did an excellent job today!
google avatar

Wesley Y.

Yelp
Soooo good! Was looking for a new duck spot and found Duck House. Was greeted by the owner, and saw that the restaurant had both a main area and small private rooms. Ordered the 3 duck combo that came with soup and bean sprouts. Flavor was immaculate. Also ordered a crispy pork intestine and 3 cups tofu. Chefs kiss fasho. Food came out pretty fast and they did a great job packing the leftovers. Would recommend making a reservation so they have time to prep duck if you order it. I am def coming back to try out other things on the menu!
google avatar

Henry C.

Yelp
I've been coming here for the Peking duck for a while. In my opinion one of the best around. The duck skin is crispy but not too fatty and the wraps are always warm, a little elastic, and when paired with the scallions, cucumbers, and duck, it's delicious! The other food items here are also very yummy, but the main attraction is always the duck!
google avatar

Amir H.

Yelp
Amazing duck! Crisp skin and always so succulent. Other highlights are the stir fry beef, potato "salad," crispy shrimp and trust me when I say you MUST order the garlic pea shoots. Accommodating staff and attentive service to boot! Don't miss out on the amazing food at Duck House!
google avatar

Fiona P.

Yelp
Fantastic Peking duck. One of the best in Los Angeles and they have been here for many many years.
google avatar

yvonne c.

Yelp
We've lived in the area for 20 years and with passing by so often, we've never stopped to eat but this is our second time in one month. Food is amazingly presented and delicious! The dishes came out so fast! Highlight of the night though other than the food are the staff, so polite, attentive, and friendly! I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back soon
google avatar

Leo K.

Yelp
The Duck House has been one of go to spots for Peking duck. But what makes this place special is that everything else on the menu is just as good. We always end up ordering way too much because it's hard to pick favorites. The eggplant with spicy garlic sauce is addictive, the XO stir-fry noodles are packed with flavor, and the scallion pancakes are so good the kids usually fight over the last piece. The mixed seafood and crab meat soup is comforting and full of fresh ingredients, and the Shanghai-style pork ribs are delicious. If you're into eel, the Taiwanese-style BBQ eel rice is fantastic. Service is always friendly and the vibe is welcoming. Every meal here feels like a treat, and it's easily one of the best Chinese restaurants around.
google avatar

Shirley L.

Yelp
The duck skin here is very crispy and yummy! There are some parking spaces in the parking lot or you can also park on the street in the front. Service is quick and friendly. I like this spot better than Ji Rong Peking Duck, and it seems like they give more cuts of duck skin here.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Great Peking duck, but the black pepper beef filet mignon was the real standout. Excellent service too!
google avatar

Harvey L.

Yelp
This is my second time coming to Duck House. I especially love the duck bone soup that comes with the Peking Duck course. I tried the Ice Plant with Sesame Sauce for the first time. I loved the texture - very crispy and delicate. But the taste was quite acidic, don't think I'd get it again. The sesame dressing helped but still not my favorite taste. Service was great, and ambiance is modern and elegant. Neither factor into my review though, my rating is just for the food.
google avatar

Leonis C.

Yelp
The soup was appetizing and scrumptious. Their service was nice and polite. It had a savory flavor. The place had a nice comforting area.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
We celebrated my daughter's second birthday here, and the food and service were so amazing that we decided to come back for my grandpa's 90th birthday. Once again, they did not disappoint! The staff provided excellent service, and every dish was delicious. I also love that they have a private room, which makes birthday celebrations feel more intimate and cozy. It was perfect for our family gathering. Highly recommend this place for both the incredible food and the wonderful experience!
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was little! Love this place so much. Their peking duck is honestly the best you can find in Southern California. The skin just melts in your mouth it's too good. Their stirred fried green beans is delish, and omg their filer mignon black pepper steak! Service is always amazing and attentive. It's also nice that they got service call buttons for the private room we booked with two tables enough to sit up to 20 people. They played a soft music in the background that is perfect for a lovely evening gathering. Had my birthday dinner gathering this year and we had such a great time. Everyone is impressed with the yummy assortment of foods we got (we ordered over 15 dishes!) They have a nice variety of dishes so everyone got to have something to eat based on individual preferences.
google avatar

Andrea Y.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant for Peking duck and duck bone soup! I always come here when I'm in the mood for Peking duck. They also have other solid dishes too - the string beans, braised pork belly, and cumin lamb.
google avatar

Hellen N.

Yelp
Reddit said this restaurant has the best Peking duck in LA, so I had to give it a try. They were right! One of the best Peking duck places I've had before. The duck skin is crispy but not greasy. The pancake is soft and stretchy, making it super easy to make a roll. Each part of the dish is done well, so all together they make a perfect dish. We also tried the black pepper beef and the crispy mayo shrimps. I liked the beef more than the shrimps. The shrimps are not as crispy as I would like. The beef was perfectly seasoned and super tender; it paired perfectly with white rice. We were seated promptly and food came out within reasonable time. Service was good. This place is perfect for a friend hangout or celebration with family. I highly recommend if you're Peking duck fanatic like me. Remember to call them ahead of time to reserve a duck.
google avatar

Mindy Z.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday evening for a party so we had the back room reserved. It has two large tables that can comfortable accommodate 20 people. The room has a service button you can push to call for staff. Tables are the rotating type for family style eating. Dishes are all family style as well. Their specialty is of course duck so the Peking Duck was the star of the show. Skin was crispy. Meat was tender, albeit a bit dry without the sauce. The crepe paired perfectly with the duck. The fresh cucumber and scallions added even more texture, was refreshing, and balanced the fat of the duck skin. The fish, although it looked nice, was a bit lacking. It felt like they fried it and slathered it in super sweet and salty sauce to mask the "fishy" taste that comes from not as fresh fish. They provided utensils and disposable plates for cake that we brought. The parking lot isn't very big but we had no issues with finding a spot. They have a lunch special, but we didn't get a chance to try. Maybe we will come again to check it out!
google avatar

Crystal S.

Yelp
Great food and an excellent dinner spot for large groups. We had the duck and it was so delicious we ate every bit! They served it sliced nicely with a cute little duck decoration. We also had fresh crepe wrapper, plum sauce, scallions, and cucumber with it. We also ate the filet mignon cubes, tofu, green beans, and so much more. I'd also highly recommend the pear juice. We can't wait to come back again soon.
google avatar

Katherine U.

Yelp
I just dined at Duck House in Monterey Park, and it offers one of the more memorable Peking duck and Chinese dining experiences in the SGV. Duck House has a spacious, comfortable interior with tables suited both for small groups and large family gatherings. Servers are attentive and very friendly. Peking Duck: This is absolutely the star here. The skin is impressively crispy; the meat is tender. The thin pancakes, scallions, cucumber, and the flavorful house Peking sauce make for a satisfying wrap.

Seung Yup L.

Yelp
One of the best foods i had in la. I am Korean and i fully endorse it! This is very close to what i had in beijing.0

Evan S.

Yelp
Authentic duck dishes, great friendly service, highly recommended! Good place to dine with friends
google avatar

Ellis K.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best duck in the SGV, look no further -- Duck House takes the crown, hands down. We've tried spots all over the area, and nothing comes close to the quality, flavor, and execution here. The Peking duck is the star of the show. The skin is impossibly crisp, the meat tender and juicy, and everything is served beautifully with pancakes, scallions, and sauce for wrapping. It's the perfect balance of texture and flavor -- the kind of dish that makes you stop mid-bite and just nod in appreciation. But don't stop at the duck because the supporting dishes are also fantastic. The classics - eggplant, mapo tofu, cucumber salad, filet mignon, fried rice - all hit the mark, each one fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Portions are generous and everything comes out hot and consistent. The service is warm, and the space is inviting which makes it great for family dinners, celebrations, or just a night out when you want something truly special. After trying countless restaurants in the SGV for duck, I can say with confidence: Duck House is the one. If you love duck (or even if you think you don't), this is the place that will win you over. PS didn't take a great photo because the duck was consumed so quickly
google avatar

Vicky H.

Yelp
The restaurant is clean and inviting. The food is delicious! We had veggies, whole steamed fish (black cod), fried tofu, Peking duck! Service was very friendly. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
We came here for a big family lunch and it was fantastic! First, the staff is super friendly and gave awesome recommendations. The duck was delicious and does not have any gamey taste at all, the fish was fresh and tender. Everything we had was very tasty. It was a very comfortable setting, like we were having a big family gathering at home. We'll love to come back again! And bonus for the "no tipping policy"! A great establishment that takes care of their employees!

Yelp
The duck is amazing. Staff is wonderful. My favorite place to order duck. It is so stupid that they make me do 85 words. How else do I describe... The duck is perfect.

Tony C.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner here at the Duck House. The food is the real star--the Peking Duck was flawless and beautifully presented. The Tofu cube and the beansprout was also very testy. The ambiance is very cozy and inviting. It definitely worth a five stars review. We highly recommend it and will be returning.
