What To Eat At Market 57 - New York - The Infatuation

"When you are in the mood to eat a bunch of sandwiches, Due Madri makes great Italian ones, served on pizza bianca, a type of flatbread sold by the square in Rome. We’ve yet to try one we don’t love, but our favorites are the Nonna, because we’re always looking for a great vegetable sandwich, and the Nina, because any sandwich with both mortadella and stracciatella is going to be good. Grab a sandwich to go, or sit at the bar and get a spritz and a charcuterie platter after work—or on your lunch break. We’re not here to judge." - carina finn koeppicus

Due Madri - Review - Chelsea - New York - The Infatuation

"Due Madri is an Italian counter at Market 57, which makes a bunch of sandwiches served on pizza bianca: a type of flatbread that's sold by the square in Rome. There's a bar counter where you can get a spritz and a charcuterie platter after work (or on your lunch break, we're not here to judge), or you can grab a sandwich to go. We’ve yet to try one we don’t love, but our favorites are the Nonna, because we’re always looking for a great vegetable sandwich, and the Nina, because any sandwich with both mortadella and stracciatella is going to be good." - Carina Finn

This pizza brought back memories of high school pizza... only with less flavor. Though a tad bland, but fresh in flavor or have good ingredients. With a bit more flavor, it would be really good. It's a shame because that baguette was amazing and crispy. Service was definitely bland... I stood in front of her for a good while until i had to ask if the place was still open.

The sandwiches are phenomenal. The service is top notch. The bar and kitchen were kept very clean. While enjoying a sandwich and a beer, the owner kept great conversation with me while cleaning up, as it was closing time. I was at a Google event that ended late and she didn't mind waiting some time for me to finish up. The sandwiches remind me of my time living in Italy and had an authentic flair to them. The ingredients she uses are top quality, with ingredients imported directly from Italy. If you're in the area and looking for a fantastic sandwich with an Italian wine or beer, look no further, you've found the spot.

Google
Food was great, service was friendly enough. Wish I could give a 5, but the Bianca sandwich + coke is about $7.88 too expensive ($27.88 incl. tax + tip) to justify the price.

Google
Delicious food - bravo! However, the staff was so unfriendly. They preferred to talk amongst themselves instead of checking on us, hey, maybe a glass of water? Also, they were out of arugula, bread rolls and even red wine. We used to love this place but it has slipped. The wine choices used to be so much better but now it is just ordinary hock. Boo Hoo!

Due Madri – Meatball Sub Heaven in the Heart of the City If you’re looking for comfort food with serious flavor, look no further than Due Madri — a cozy spot that’s quietly serving up one of the best meatball subs around. From the first bite, the meatball sub hits all the right notes: juicy, perfectly seasoned meatballs nestled in a crusty, fresh-baked roll, smothered in rich marinara and melted cheese. It’s hearty, balanced, and somehow manages to feel both indulgent and refined. The space itself feels like a hidden gem — warm, casual, and welcoming. You can dine in or grab it to go, but either way, you’re in for a satisfying experience. 💵 Price: Expect to spend around $15–$25 per person, depending on what you order. The portions are generous, and the quality absolutely justifies the price. Due Madri blends traditional Italian flavors with a modern, no-fuss vibe — and that meatball sub alone is worth a detour.

Google
Decent sandwiches but very expensive for what you get. My meatball sandwich was cold and the service was not great. My wife got the Bianca, which was a delicious turkey sandwich but quite expensive for the size.

Google
Three large security at the entrance to the market from street denied my entry into the building and said i could not go in to buy something with my mobility scooter, which was off and i was not riding, and told me i need to fold it and carry it (it is 50lbs and i cannot phsyically do that). I asked if they are denying my ability to patron this establishment and they say they are not denying entry but at same time said i cannot enter the facility with it. Oh well, never again will i go to this place. The restaurant owners should be aware that security at the front is denying customers entry to your facility and not allowing customer to buy your food. Three security to prevent me from being a customer. Never experienced this before anywhere in nyc, especially somewhere that is not near any trains. Zero stars.

Google
Cool bar for a quick beer and snack at the Pier 57. The pesto potato chips are delicious and the prosciutto portion is good. Good wine and beer. The pilsner beer tastes a little bit like an IPA - it’s good. A bit overpriced but it’s probably because of the location.

Yelp
A great lunch option inside the Market 57 food hall at the pier! I tried the Nina sandwich and loved it - the pistachio spread is sooo good. Quality of ingredients makes the price worth it (and I got two meals out of my sandwich).

Yelp
On one particularly sweat-inducing afternoon in Manhattan, Jamie W and I were feeling rather overwhelmed by the swarms of tourists as we made our way around the nooks and crannies of Little Island. By the time we got off the island, we were feeling quite peckish but still dealing with the crowds when we walked into the congested food hall on the next pier, Market 57. We walked to the end of the hall just about ready to give up because of the lines. However, this contemporary Italian sandwich stand was strangely bereft of customers even though their photo menu looked pretty good. Not sure why except the location was a bit off the beaten path. They specialize in using a thin Roman-style flatbread called pizza bianca. We decided to split the $18.50 Lupa which was stuffed with plenty of thinly sliced porchetta, accompanied by their own salsa verde, and slathered liberally with garlic aioli (photo: https://yelp.to/iIBNvI_5Em). It was tasty and ended up being plenty for both of us. Just a little greasy from the salsa and aioli if you asked us. Luckily there were free seats at the counter, so we could eat right away. FOOD - 4 stars...not a bad Italiano sandwich AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...crowded food hall but this space wasn't so terrible SERVICE - 3.5 stars...kinda quiet and ready to leave TOTAL - 4 stars...big enough to share RELATED - Hungry in NYC? Yelp
Wow, a surprisingly delicious sandwich!! It's pretty rare for me to stumble into a food hall with no plans of which vendors to hit, but my husband and I just walked around aimlessly until Due Madri caught our attention. It reminded us of the viral All'Antico sandwiches that we love so we decided to get the Nina ($23.95) on a whim. It was fantastic! I was impressed by the meat to bread ratio, and just how thin and crispy the bread was - definitely different from All'Antico but in the best way. Took away a star because of the steeper price tag but honestly a great find.

Yelp
Sandwich and wine bar tucked away in the corner of the Pier 57 food hall by Chelsea Piers. There is some seating with a view north into the ocean and city, as well as a solid selection of wines and summer-y cocktails. The sandwiches are simple but all have solid ingredient lists. Service was very friendly and my sandwich came out quickly. The flavors were very prominent and you could taste the tangyness of the balsamic and how well it went with the meats and cheeses. The creamy cheese spreads they put into the sandwiches add some moisture and great flavor. Glad to have dropped by and found this outpost. Worth a stop!

Yelp
Vegetarians in search of the best veg sandwich, come here! We came to explore the Pier 57 rooftop park and found the best sandwich we've had in ages. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about artichoke on a sandwich, but the mix of that, red pepper, tomato and pecorino was divine. I highly recommend bypassing Chelsea Market and coming here for a better market atmosphere and by far a better lunch than I've ever had next door.

Yelp
Super unique sandwiches, loved the very simple and straight forward menu! I tried the nonna which was anything but your ordinary sandwich from the pesto to the peppers and the bread was just incredible- super thin and fluffy!

Yelp
skip this place.. make a sandwich at home. dry bread, rude owners, overpriced products.

Yelp
This is the Sergio from the Pier 57 Market, Due Madri. I was walking around looking at the different options but decided to get this sandwich because of the bread. The bread looks amazing, but tastes even better.

Yelp
These sandwich's are ridiculous. So easy to get there. The perfect lunch spot!!! The Nina is delicious
