Google
Great spot for an easy, affordable, and delicious lunch or dinner! About $50 for three people is very reasonable these days, especially for quality, fresh food. The starters and dumplings are great, as expected, but don’t sleep on the three day ramen!

Google
Super friendly service on a very cute clean and cozy spot. Dumpling and bao were both delicious. Counter order and food is delivered quickly

Google
Why have I never heard of this place before? I've never even been to Weston before today and found this place. Today was my last day being vegetarian and I broke it with their Pork Belly rice bowl. Oh my God it was delicious!! I mean insanely delicious!!! I will return back to this place for the rest of my life. It was that good!

Britte van Zadelhoff

Google
Been coming here since they first opened and have tried a lot of the menu. Boba is of course always a purchase, but food wise, I could their garlic eggplant everyday and love their tofu roll-up, it makes something that most people wouldn’t choose super flavorful. My siblings love the chicken ramen, beef buns and farm raised chicken salad. People are always friendly and the food comes really quickly.

Google
These were the worst dumplings I’ve ever had. The skins were thick and rubbery—clearly mass-produced. For a place built on the story of growing up with chef parents and homemade dumplings, this is an embarrassment. Tradition sold out for scale.

Robert Laferriere

Google
Went there for dinner, bill was $148.81 with tax. Food was pretty decent. After going thru my credit card statement a week later I noticed that I was charged 177.81. They so graciously gave themselves a 20% tip on my card. I left a cash tip on the table because I didnt know they stole their own tip already, as he told me my total was 148.81. Not for nothing, they added a tip for what?? You go up to a counter, order your food and go sit down and you clear your own table. There is no waitress or server. Imagine if McDonald's added 20% tip to your order? It's literally the exact same service. I've called 3 days this week to speak to a manager and there is never one there. I asked when she will be in and they also said they don't know. Cool thanks. maybe this will get your attention.

Google
Love the salad with salmon and miso ginger dressing....my go-to take out selection. Other family favorites are the wonton soup and spicy chicken dumplings.

Google
I ordered take out yesterday and I liked the food, which is fast food. I thought the sauce for the pork and cabbage dumplings was really flavorful. The glass noodles with beef and cilantro were good. The Dan Dan Mien is a little different from what I have had elsewhere, but I liked it. My daughter liked her Chicken Katsu rice bowl. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying a few more of the dishes at this restaurant!

Yelp
The restaurant is a great change of pace. It is an order at the counter and sit at tables that lack silverware or place settings yet it is the perfect place for a family and group to sit over a casual meal or a place for a snack. The food comes in real dishes and one can get real silverware. Glasses were plastic cups. It works and a really nice room Then the food. All gone. Tried dumplings and they were stars. Scalian pancakes great and ate too many. Won ton soup classic and flavorable. Nothing went to waste. Most helpful is their knowledge of allergies. This point should be highlighted and fantastic their understanding and ability to guide choices. So go and try it. Not for fancy but for that comfortable meal with great choice.

Yelp
We enjoyed our dinner at Dumpling Daughter last night. The pan seared dumplings are consistently delicious and high quality. My husband enjoyed the kimchi fried rice with egg, adding beef to the dish, and the kids got mango boba tea. We ate outside on a lovely night, and appreciated the patient service as it took us a few minutes to decide on our order.

Yelp
We stopped by here for lunch and from what I've heard about this restaurant, I was expecting so much more. I wouldn't categorize this food as authentic Chinese food at all. Everything comes out in plastic containers even if you're dining in. You're using single use plastic silverware. The plates were the only thing that wasn't plastic. The dumplings (we ordered the pork and chicken ones) were so-so and reminded me of frozen dumplings you can get at the store. The lo mein was okay, but it reminded me of something I could get at a chain fast-food Chinese restaurant. The green beans were extremely salty and ended up being inedible for us, which was so disappointing. All this cost $44 which felt expensive since this was a quick dine in/takeout spot.

Yelp
Super friendly service on a very cute clean and cozy spot. Dumpling and bao were both delicious. Counter order and food is delivered quickly

Yelp
I had the shrimp dumplings, which were OK, and the bbq pork bun, which was probably fine but too much vs meat for me. Hubby enjoyed his spicy tofu rice bowl and garlic eggplant, both of which were too spicy for me.

Yelp
Sharing a side entrance with Heirloom, I wanted to try this dumpling-centric restaurant next door. I had the pan seared pork and cabbage dumplings and pan seared Shanghainese buns, which were fresh and flavorful. The interior has beautiful decorations including a large vase and especially gorgeous and endearing aquatic and nature-themed bathroom wallpaper. One odd thing is even when you eat there, they serve the food on plastic containers and plastic silverware, which many others have commented on too. But all in all Dumpling Daughter is a great place and I'd happily visit again.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I'm Asian and I live in an area where predominantly are Asian. This place is not authentic by any means. Was it tasty? Not bad.. The favor has been adjusted to cater to non Asian person. The grandma beef noodle was dry and not enough sauce or topping. The Beef soup noodle was okay. The pork belly rice was good. The dumpling schesuan sauce: the dumpling skin was too thick but the sauce made up for it. I usually don't like schesuan taste but this one is very good. Not spicy what so ever but very tasty. I even pout the sauce to my grandma noodle since it was lack of flavor. The Thai tea was okay. It was normal, nothing special. The service was okay, not fast and not slow. The server was very nice and friendly. This restaurant will not survive in So Cal for sure..
google avatar

Deanna B.

Yelp
Pretty good dumplings. I liked that I could taste the cabbage in the pork and napa cabbage pan seared dumplings. The service was pleasant and I'd go back to try another type of dumplings or bun. I tried the Shangainese bun which was okay but I feel like I'd enjoy the roasted BBQ pork bun more. I do agree with other reviews that the abundant use of single use plastic is kind of surprising. As an example, you tell them you're eating there and they serve the food in plastic to-go containers even when your intention is to eat food there. The only item that is washable that they provide seems to be small plates that you can eat your food off of. The utensils are plastic and you only know that there are chopsticks available when you're throwing away items from your meal. It is a really nicely decorated establishment. There are beautiful vases, wallpaper especially in the restroom. I do think there is some wear and tear with the dining tables but it shows that it's being used. I would come back though.

Yelp
I haven't been there in years. Last time it was delicious . Went last week and went to order food. I asked him what are your most popular dishes , since I didn't know what to order. He had zero personality and was no help. I just ordered dumplings, something like Ravioli, a rice dish with a spice and string beans. This was all for me.. . I ate the string bean dish and the trash ate the rest. Sorry everyone but that was my story

Yelp
I'm not local, so I stopped by during a roadtrip. I had come here many years ago and very much enjoyed my experience then, but I'm sad to say that my recent visit did not match my memories/expectations. I was shocked that even in my dine-in order, my food was served to me in plastic take out containers. Even for my noodle soup, the broth was served in a separate container, and I had to pour it over the noodles myself. And then there was only trash - no options for recycling all of these plastic containers - so wasteful. As for the food itself, the dumplings were tasty. For my beef noodle soup, the broth was incredibly salty but the rest of the food in the soup was good.
google avatar

Grier F.

Yelp
Their slogan is "best dumplings in boston" and they've truly underdelivered. Dumplings taste like they were frozen and reheated. The garlic dipping sauce just isn't it. It's not authentic. Noodles were dry and it just lacked flavor. Where is the umami that authentic Asian cuisine always has? The lack of authenticity is such a shame. Don't be hyped by their social media tactics, I was surely tricked.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Food was okay, dough for dumplings was too thick and meat in lo mein tasted old like it had been in a refrigerator, uncovered for a week.

Yelp
I just dropped in to grab some dumplings because I was next door and I couldn't resist. I've gone to Dumpling Daughter in Brookline a few times and loved it, and the Weston location doesn't disappoint! The guy at the counter was super friendly and the steamed dumplings I intended to nurse for a while went down in like 3 minutes

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite spots - I LOVE the food and have adored getting to know the owner, Nadia. She is an amazing woman and is constantly giving back to the community! Dumpling Daughter has been a staple in my takeout rotation for years, and I've also dined in a number of times and have always been impressed. Top 3 orders: Fried chicken bao buns: everything about these are literally perfection. The crispy chicken, SUCH flavorful sauce, breading, and the textures of the bao buns contrasting with the chicken are perfection. Would highly recommend - these are a crowd pleaser for sure! Grandma's Beijing meat sauce over spaghetti: this has always been my #1 order in terms of a main dish. The sauce is incredibly unique and has both beef and beans - I've never been a fan of beans but this is SO GOOD!! I could eat 5 bowls in a sitting... Scallion pancakes: can you ever go wrong with these? No, but also...DD does them ESPECIALLY right. I would highly recommend as a side!! You have to try Dumpling Daughter on your next takeout or casual dinner night. I hope you love it as much as I do!!

Yelp
Ordered and waited for order. Mid afternoon so no crowds. Fast delivery of order. Food was excellent. We ordered dumplings, noodles and fried rice.

Yelp
Too much single use plastic! We enjoyed our lunch at dumpling daughter. Very tasty. But it would have been infinitely more enjoyable if served on non-plastic tableware. Please make the change to non-plastic in house serveware and biodegradable and compostable take out containers and cutlery so we can enjoy your food again soon and often!
google avatar

Erica L.

Yelp
Had the scallion lo mein, and the chicken dumplings. I liked the chicken dumplings and the noodles were alright. There was a huge portion of the noodles! I did not like the donuts. It was a delivery order and it was quick and efficient. The to go containers held up during the drive as well. The bubble tea cover was sealed well and did not spill. I am interested in trying another type of dumpling and lo mein there soon.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience at Dumpling Daughter the other evening. At the recommendation of a fellow Yelper, we ordered three type of dumplings; pan seared pork & cabbage, chicken, and vegetarian. Even after a 10 minute drive home, they were still crispy as they were not covered in a lot of oil. Also, the batter was thin and not that very thick, doughy type that you get at many Asian/Chinese restaurants. . In fact, a few minutes in the air fryer the next day they were just as good...and maybe with a little more crunch. Delicious! While not usually a fan myself, friends wanted to try the steamed BBQ Pork buns. Three came in an order and they were separated nicely with paper so not to become a stuck together mess on the drive home. They found them to be very good, but a little light on the filling compared to the overall size of the bun. The buttery miso noodles were also ordered with vegetables and the healthy serving size in a bowl made for easy sharing onto smaller plates. Scallion pancakes were ordered and like the dumplings were still very crispy after the drive. Moreover, they were far thinner than most other restaurants and not soaked in oil. Very good! An order of chicken and broccoli was also ordered, but with all of the other food was less popular. Lastly, and perhaps my favorite were the organic chicken cutlet buns. Served with the vegetables and sauces (no mayo) they were crunchy and delicious. Next time we will order a second item since there are just 2 to an order. Overall, very good food with easy to get to convenience. In the sleepy little town of Weston, they close at 8PM, so don't wait to call or book your order on line. They even allow you to indicate any food allergies with each item which is very helpful when you actually do have someone with a shellfish allergy to advise them about.

Yelp
Consistently terrific service, variety of great food, freshly prepared dishes, cozy ambiance, quick prep, hot & tasty offerings.

Yelp
Pretty good but nothing worth trying again. I've seen it advertised on a local food show and we were nearby so stopped in and got Pork buns and Pork dumplings, frozen so we could eat them at home later. The buns were OK but didn't seem to have much pork and the dumplings were OK but nothing worth going out of our way for. It was OK for a visit but not enough to go back.
google avatar

Selena L.

Yelp
I have been here a few times but this place is very mediocre with very fusion type of noodle and rice bowls. Their ramen is yellow chinese noodles. Their rice bowls is 85% rice with few slices of meat and toppings. Their buns and dumplings taste like frozen buns thrown in a steamer. Never hot. I know this place is popular for dumplings seen at local markets but definitely a 2 star for authenticity.

Yelp
I stopped by Dumpling Daughter in Weston for takeout recently. They are doing takeout only due to the pandemic. I placed my order online and it was ready for pickup 25 minutes later as promised. When you arrive, just call the number posted on the window and your order is brought out to you. I ordered the Three Day Pork Ramen ($12) with Extra Noodles (add $2) and Steamed BBQ Pork Buns (3 for $6). The dry ramen ingredients (in a bowl) and ramen broth (plastic container) were packed separately, pour broth onto dry ingredients when ready to eat. The ramen dish was very good, served very hot which had tender pork belly, quail eggs, bamboo, ginger, seaweed and scallions in a rich tasting pork broth, not too salty. The steamed bbq pork buns were nice and soft outside, filled with modest amounts sweet tangy chopped BBQ pork pieces inside. Overall, I enjoyed a very good takeout meal and hope to dine-in here for dumplings once the national crisis is over.

Barrett F.

Yelp
Whole family loved the food. Was allergy friendly which the group appreciated (no nuts). Will definitely be back!

John G.

Yelp
Nothing handmade. All frozen. Real dim sum is in the morning and in china town. Sorry dumpling daughter.
google avatar

Tina S.

Yelp
We got there at 11:30am as it opened. The table was dirty. The food is served in single use plastic. the DAN DAN MIEN was really only a bunch of noodles with very little else. Chicken and cabbage dumpling just OK. Won't be coming back at least not soon.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Love this place! Excellent quality food and the bubble tea is perfect- not too sweet and doesn't make you feel guilty for drinking so much sugar afterwards. Glass noddle with cilantro was nice and spicy. Wings were super tasty. Dumplings are always a bit hit with everyone in my family. And the veggie dishes too - green beans, bok choy...love it all
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Just awful in general. The decor was nice, but the quality of their dumplings were horrible. You would bite into it and it just tasted so off. The staff were alright but the service took forever to eat the food. I do not recommend you eat here.

Baba G.

Yelp
Not what we expected. This was our first time here and all the hype and hoopla about this place was very disappointing. The ramen I could have bought next door at brother's market. The food lacked flavor and quality. The dumplings (shrimp and chicken) seemed like they were frozen at one point. Staff were nice. Would not be going back.
google avatar

JP D.

Yelp
Always a WIN with Dumpling Daughter ... been too long since we ate here. We drive 40 minutes one way to get all our favorite things. Bao, shrimp dumplings, pork buns... everything on the menu is amazing. Scheuzuan dumplings is a must! I wish we lived closer
google avatar

Lala T.

Yelp
Informal and pleasant space, most dishes heavily sauced with szezchuan pepper oil (it tingles) and loads of salt. My tongue was macerated. Sometimes this is what you want, and other times you find yourself at Dumpling Daughter because there is no other choice in the area. If I were being fair, I'd give it four stars, but the boba failed me. Don't get the boba.
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
They're still doing only take-out services, so you'll pick your food up from a window counter after ordering ahead. We got the two most popular dumplings - Pan-Seared Pork and Napa Cabbage & Steamed Pork and Chive, bbq pork buns, and pork belly baos. The pan-seared dumplings were definitely superior to the steamed dumplings, but both were pretty good. They come with a bit of soy sauce to dip and flavor your dumplings. I was pretty disappointed in the bbq pork buns, it didn't have the right flavor, texture, or color to the bbq pork that I expected. The pork belly baos were filled with pretty big pieces which made the bao enjoyable to eat. There was enough sauce on the pork belly with the super-soft bao bun made a great combination. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I don't see myself coming back for more.

Dottie B.

Yelp
Tried tonight and it was disappointing; we likely won't be back. Pan seared pork dumplings were the best thing we tried, though they were messy looking and not evenly seared. Not much filling, either. I would think with the name Dumpling Daughter they could be assembled to look better than ones you might make at home. Ramen broth was bland and pork belly overcooked. Green beans were salty, BBQ pork bao was fine but wouldn't get it again. Fried rice wasn't the texture of fried -- just soft rice with veggies and again too salty. Nothing was BAD, but nothing stood out as great, either, hence 3 stars.
google avatar

Brooke T.

Yelp
My family enjoyed our meal at dumpling daughter. When we visited they were still takeout only and not open for indoor dining, but we were able to order our food and enjoy it at the tables outside. Their menu is a bit eclectic, but they have some good options. I particularly love their vegetarian potstickers and definitely recommend trying those! The sesame bubble tea is also really good!
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
This is one of those places you've heard about repeatedly, seen on food shows, anticipated going to, and just never got around to - which means expectations couldn't be higher. Dumpling Daughter exceeded those expectations. Exceptional food, easy to navigate menu, streamlined service, clean and modern, with great special dishes. They've expanded into Boston and it's a treat to now be able to order their food in via UberEats in Southie!

M R.

Yelp
Great homemade dumplings and other specialties. The wait is usually too long and eat in lacks atmosphere, but the food makes up for it!

Amelia B.

Yelp
I'm from out of town but every time I come to MA this is my first request for food! I have only gotten takeout so I don't know how the service is.

Jini J.

Yelp
Got takeout from here on my way home from an appointment. The food was ready at the time promised which was good. That said, it was downhill from there. Once home, I opened the bag to find that they had put the ginger sauce in with the food!! It had spilled all over the food which was awful. The food itself was average at best and each dish quite disappointing. Won't be going back.
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
A few weeks ago, I dropped by this place to get takeout lunch since they don't have dine-in service yet. I ordered the pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings, braised pork belly buns, and the pan fried pork buns. The pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings were amazing. Although it's not the bursting juice type of dumpling, they were still very delicious. I like how they put some ginger bits inside the meat. The braised pork belly buns came with a slab of pork belly, cilantro, slivered cucumber and hoisin sauce. It was very savory although I wish the pork belly was more of a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The pan fried Shanghainese pork buns were fresh and good as well. Out of the three, the pan fried dumplings were definitely my favorite. I'm already craving for it again!
google avatar

Rick B.

Yelp
Easily the best lunch I've had in years. Delicious every single bite. Starting with the bubble tea, moving quickly to the pork bun, then to the tofu in scallion wrap (spicy), and pork dumplings. My 11 year old and wife agree. Best ever.
google avatar

Gary G.

Yelp
I was tempted to give Dumpling Daughter a 2 based on the gap between expectation and actual experience, but the rating that feels right is 3. It's not that there's anything terrible about the place; it's just that there's no real oomph. Two visits have yielded buns and dumplings that were okay, nothing special. They felt a little tired with flavor muted compared to similar restaurants; the dipping sauce was one-note (no additions) and similar to storebought. On our first visit, we spotted frozen dumplings being poured out of plastic bags into a steamer. On the plus side, I'd say there's good value considering the dumplings are a buck apiece and there's convenient parking. Treat it less as a destination and more as a convenient stop when nearby and you'll do okay.
google avatar

Jill I.

Yelp
This was a great spot. We all shared everything and it was all great. The eggplant has a bit of a kick to it but was very tasty. The chicken and cabbage dumplings delicious as well as the pork ones . Cucumber salad was good but not amazing. I had my first bubble Black tea, loved the tea flavor but not a fan of the "bubbles " . Nice place really clean and staff was really nice . Will definitely go back when I am in the area.
google avatar

Maddie W.

Yelp
I love the food here especially the pork dumplings, katsu bao, cuke salad and noodle dishes. The reason for 4 stars is that even if you eat at the restaurant everything comes individually wrapped in sooo much plastic. I understand that not every restaurant has the space for dish washing but it's just so wasteful. Even if they could get compostable utensils and napkins and a recycling bin that would be a huge step in the right direction.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
If you come here, stick with their dumplings, and don't get any of their other food. While I know the place is literally called "DUMPLING daughter", I thought it would be nice to try a bit of everything. However, I was pretty disappointed with everything but the dumplings. All of the other food was too salty, or just didn't match the flavors I was used to. I tried the pork and cabbage dumplings and those were great! Will definitely order those again if I'm ever back in this area of Mass.

Jane S.

Yelp
Food is absolutely delicious. We get takeout every couple of months. It's very reasonable and my kids and I would go more often it was closer.

Sandra D.

Yelp
I bought a lunch order to go today for the first time at the Weston location & the food was excellent! The prices are also very reasonable. I had the lo mein, noodles w/chicken broth & 2 spring rolls. I'll defenitely be returning.

Yelp
If you appreciate real asian food you would not disgrace the food as bad as this place. Just judging by the picture I had low expectations, but I gave it a try because of the good ratings. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things, but I came after work on a Friday night. I at least expect the food to be fresh. I ordered the pork leek dumplings which they must have been rationing the filling and had little to no flavor. Apart from the soy sauce on the side. The crab rangoons looked like they were sitting under a heat lamp for 6+ hours. And tasted like it too. Also the filling tasted way too strong of salty crab. The spicy wonton dish had only a bit of spice and unusually sweet instead. Not at all what I expected. The cold cucumber side dish which is supposed to be a sour spicy flavor was instead a mix of light spice and mild pickle juice. I am not trying to be racist, but the ramen was mediocre with chasu that tasted like pork buns and egg that tasted like marinated tea eggs. The noodles were over cooked and the soup was some mixture of other chinese broths. It felt like a chinese mixed noodle monstrosity. Overall I rated each dish out of 10 and came out to a whopping 9/50. Unfortunately I will have to round up to a 1 star review, but this place has to have one of the most inflated ratings that I have ever seen. We need more real reviews please.

Kim H.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped into this restaurant for lunch I have to say we were deeply disappointed. The pros: we ordered a bowl of the ramen, which was really good. We also had an order of the bao. Equally tasty. The cons: we ordered an assortment of dumplings. They were quite disappointing. The dumpling shell was very doughy and thick, thus taking away the flavor of the filling. We also ordered the Dan Dan noodles, which was essentially a glob of over cooked noodles topped with a small sprinkling of minced meat. I gave the dish back to the host and he just argued that he doesn't understand why I would not like the dish. He didn't even offer to give me a refund or exchange it for another dish. To top things off, both of us had indigestion for the rest of the afternoon. I had such high hopes for this place but it greatly disappointed us and we will not be coming back.
google avatar

Bea T.

Yelp
Delicious dumplings and they had an excellent noodle dish called Grandma's meat sauce over spaghetti. The most delicious pork belly bao buns...a must try. I tried to sesame noodles which were okay. Traditional pork buns were a bit dry. The place was very clean and a really nice takeout. I actually enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was there was nobody to move the plates when we were done eating...so we left them on the table. The dumplings here are freshly made.

Yelp
Popped into Dumpling Daughter to escape the Boston summer heat and was pleasantly surprised with the great variety of dumplings, steamed buns, and noodle bowls that they have available. The scenery of the interior is more modern with roughly 7 tables for seating. Generally, Dumpling Daughter is predominantly takeout. However, I do like the option of indoor dining as well. The service we received was quick and very friendly. Our server was very attentive to our table. We had requested two orders of dumplings and one order of steamed buns and our order was brought out to us as they were ready. All our requested food had been brought out within a 7-10 min time span. I will most definitely return here again in the future!
