They’ve the best dumplings in town. I tried the fish dumplings for the first time and they were delicious just as other stuffing. The hot pot was a must especially in cold weather. The cucumber salad was just okay. The staff were attentive and efficient. Reservations are not necessary. The restaurant was not crowded on a Saturday noon.

Dumplings and Beyond is a fantastic spot! The food is absolutely delicious, with some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had—flavorful fillings and perfectly cooked. The restaurant itself is a humble, unassuming place, which adds to its charm. It’s cozy, and the focus is clearly on serving amazing food. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic dumplings this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by how authentic the food was. Every dish felt like a taste of home, with flavors that were rich, comforting, and true to traditional Chinese cuisine. The portions here are also worth mentioning—they’re incredibly generous! I left feeling completely satisfied, and even had leftovers to enjoy later.

I had lunch there and it was very tasty (kung Pao and a small soup). I used their lunch menu, and was very positively surprised by the amount of food I got for a very decent price. It might not be the most cozy place in the area, but the food compensates for it. Another place I can highly recommend.

The service was excellent!! I ordered to go, they said 15 to 20 minutes but it was ready in like 8 minutes. The lady at the register was very warm and welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. The food was excellent!! I ordered the steamed pork dumplings, the combination lo mein, and the general two's chicken, and shrimp spring rolls. Everything was hot and fresh. Being as though I was being driven home on an hour long right I dove right into my food. When I got home my son, who is very picky, finished off the rest!!

Nice atmosphere inside. I came here for the dumplings and they didn't disappoint. I've been to restaurants where I swear they are serving factory made dumplings we can all get in the frozen food section. Not this place. The wrappers are a little thicker and rusticly finished. I do think the soup dumplings were my favorite but the house special and pork and shrimp dumplings were both delicious. And don't be shy about using a fork. I'm pretty good with chopsticks but something happens with plastic chopsticks and dumpling wrappers once dipped in chili oil. It is virtually impossible to hold onto them. A very kind waiter saw me struggling and offered a fork and I regret being too stubborn to take him up on the offer.

Amazing Chinese delivery. Oddly enough, I was searching in a reddit forum for best Chinese delivery in Washington DC and found a post about a relatively small delivery area, but Dumplings and Beyond was incredible. I open Uber Eats and found we were within that range! We sampled many different foods but their dumplings, chicken fried rice and their scallion pancakes were the best of all. With dumplings in the name that isn't hard to believe. Looking forward to trying more when we return!

What's the beyond in Dumplings & Beyond? I don't know and I don't care! The food is mediocre at best. The service is uninspired. The ambiance, such as it is, is cold, old and sterile. We got a recommendation from a local that the dumplings were good. That is a bit of an overstatement. The wrap on the dumpling was thick, tasteless and bland. It is true that the filling was good but only good nothing beyond. The Hot and Sour Soup was okay. It got better once you got used to its strong taste. But the Hot and Sour soup at the dirty little Chinese place on P Street (New Dynasty) is 1000 times better. The soup at Dumplings & Beyond was a single note of sour peppery broth. No complex flavors that are usually the hallmark of a good Hot and Sour Soup. Granted, all we had were the soup, the chicken & cilantro dumplings and the special dumplings. That is a limited sample. Perhaps the rest of the menu is spectacular. But - hello - we got 2 kinds of dumplings at Dumplings & Beyond. Don't you think that I should be wetting myself over their dumplings??? PS - I wasn't!!! I am sorry to be so harsh but if you're going to have a name of a specific food item in your title, then make it FREAKING OUTSTANDING, not mediocre. Plus step up the service and clean up the atmosphere a little. To be fair, they were doing an amazing amount of carry-out business so maybe there is something that I totally missed. For me, though, I cannot recommend this place.

Dumplings and Beyond is an unpretentious, no-frills Chinese spot located in the neighborhood of Dumbarton Oaks - you walk up the stairs of a small strip mall to see an entryway crowded with dozens of takeout orders (a great sign of a solid Chinese restaurant). There are many tables throughout the space, with multiple large tables equipped with the classic Lazy Susan setup to maximize family-style sharing - as a party of 9 on a Saturday night at 7pm, there were a couple of open tables, as the restaurant was around 75% full, though continued to fill up throughout the night. The menu is extensive, ranging from your classic Chinese-American dishes (think General Tso's Chicken and Mongolian Beef) to more traditional Chinese fare (Tree Ear Salad and Ginger Scallion Shrimp) to regional specialties (you'll see some food from Hunan and Szechuan Province on the menu) - there's truly something for everyone! To start, we ordered their Pork n' Chives Dumpling ($12.95/10pcs), Chicken & Black Mushroom Dumpling ($12.95/10pcs), and Shrimp N' Chive Dumpling ($15.95/10pcs) - the food began to come out within 10 minutes. While I wasn't able to try any because I'm gluten-free, my friends really enjoyed these dumplings - they were plump and juicy, with the perfect dumpling wrapper thickness that trapped the soup inside, keeping the filling soft and supple. Additionally, the price is pretty reasonable given how large each dumpling is! My friends also shared some dishes family-style, first starting with the proteins: the Chinese Style Mu Shu Pork ($17.95) with cucumber, wooden fungus and egg with soy sauce, the Broccoli Beef ($19.95) served with carrots and brown sauce, and the Kung Pao Chicken ($16.95) with bell pepper, onion, and peanuts. While none of these were fantastic, they were generous portions at a good price, and the meat quality seemed pretty good! Additionally, the wood fungus in the Mu Shu Pork lent an interesting textural contrast to the dish. As a vegetable, we ordered the String Beans Szechuan Style ($14.95), which are fried green beans in an addictively spicy chili oil - these are quite greasy, but the green beans held their firm texture, and it's a great dupe for the famous Din Tai Fung String Beans! They also ordered the Combination Fried Rice ($14.95), which is a heap of glistening fried rice topped with chicken, beef, shrimp, and vegetables. While I didn't try this, it was (again) a large portion, and my friends thought it was seasoned well. Since we had ordered so many dishes, I think they threw in a large bowl of white rice for free as well, which paired nicely with the salty proteins. Lastly, I ordered their Pork Spare Rib Casserole ($19.95), which is a gigantic clay pot of comforting soup filled to the brim with cabbage, onion, cilantro, wood fungus, tofu, and succulent pork spareribs. The soup was well-seasoned (if not bordering on too salty), but the clean-tasting broth and fresh vegetables were perfect for a cold DC night. Overall, this was a great, affordable spot for both Americanized and authentic Chinese food, and perfect to curb the Chinese craving of several hungry Georgetown students - the food is tasty, service is fast, and there's something for everyone!

We ordered the chili pork with fried rice, beef chow foon, and szechuan dumplings. All were plentiful and flavorful. I would have liked more sauce on beef chow foon and, luckily, you can request more sauce on uber eats so we will next time. The fried rice had egg, carrots, fresh beansprouts, and peas - very good. Not too salty and cooked perfectly. Speaking of adjustments - they allow you to adjust spice level which is GREATLY appreciated and baybeeeee....yall go on ahead and use that feature! lol This is a step above American spicy. We got medium spicy (which Im normally ok with) and Im still waiting to for the feeling in my tongue to return. Its a nice burn but, if your tastebuds are in a tumultuous relationship with chilies (like I mine are) keep to the little to no spice requests. And maybe avoid the chili pork altogether cuz it's tasty but not for spice wimps. Looking forward to trying more dishes...as soon as I can feel my tongue. lol

Vegan reviewer here! This is going to be short and sweet. I ordered delivery via DoorDash and received my order within about 30 minutes. The hot and spicy tofu... get it!!! It was everything I had wanted and more if chili, garlic, salty goodness is your thing. I do enjoy spicy food and it was not spicy in my opinion. This dish comes with a side of white rice as well. I also ordered the vegetable chow foon which was alright. The texture of the noodles was too soft but I still ate it. If anything, just get the tofu and live your best life! I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I requested hot oil and utensils and did not receive it in my take out order.

Ordered cumin beef. I doubt there was any cumin in it. Maybe some--along with all the onions. It was a velvetted beef sh!t show. They should probably call it onion with velvet meat and maybe cumin? Straight in the garbage. Fvvvcking gross. Dumplings were ok. I mean look at that though--it looks like eels in my garbage with all them onions.

Awesome meal ordering dumplings and beyond for takeout - unfortunately across the city but won't stop us from returning, we loved it. great dishes - pan fried dumplings, sichuan noodles, cold sesame noodles (amazing, thick noodles, refreshing), chili chicken (slightly different version than others, this one has some different seasonings, isn't as spicy, has cilantro, etc.), walnut shrimp (delicious, huge shrimp, addicting sauce). good dishes - lo mein (love their slightly thicker noodles here), garlic eggplant, steamed dumplings ok dishes - cucumbers (mostly garlic in terms of flavor), xiao long bao, scallion pancake (although ours was undercooked - could see this being good when done right). Portions were big, service was quick.

Price is very reasonable. Portion are huge. Street parking but ample parking. Service was ok. The waiter does not seem super happy to be there but it doesn't really bother me lol Restaurant was pretty big so we didn't need to wait for tables.

We ordered takeout with a mix of dumplings and other dishes. True to its name, the dumplings we ordered were all delicious. I can't say the same about the other dishes, which were just blah. I'd definitely order again, though, but would stick to the dumplings.

the special fried rice was regular steamed rice with frozen peas/carrots and a bit of diced ham and shrimp--not fried rice at all. Very disappointed

We have ordered several times and have enjoyed the food from Dumplings & Beyond. Last night we placed an order (again) and I bit down on a rock that was in my Chicken Fried Rice. Thankfully, I did not break a tooth, but it was disheartening to bite down into a ROCK found in my rice. I have multiple pictures--unfortunately, it is definitely a little rock. Thankful I did not crack a tooth. I was going to contact the restaurant directly to send photos and make them aware of the issue, but there is no email or messaging option, only a phone number associated with the restaurant. I welcome any communication from the restaurant. @thewashingtondcmom

Cute family run Chinese place in Georgetown, I have high standards for dumplings but I thought these were decent! Food 3/5 - soup dumplings were just okay, I like the pork potstickers better and really enjoyed the crispy beef! Service 4/5 - quick service Vibes 4/5 - good place for family!

I've never been in person but this is one of my favorite restaurants to order takeout from on Uber Eats and the food always gets delivered super fast. The pork and chive dumplings never disappoint. It does have a strong chive flavor though so if that's not your thing I'd go for a different option. The beef chow foon was also tasty if dumplings aren't your thing. No frills Chinese spot with pretty authentic food.

This is a great authentic chinese spot in DC. It has so many traditional Chinese dishes. We ate in and took put a number of times. The servers were friendly, and the restaurant itself is very spacious. There's a side area for takeout, which is a nice touch.

Stopped here for a late lunch Monday afternoon. There wasn't very many people there and we got seated right away. The restaurant is nicely laid out with carry out on one side and diners on the other. It felt very serene in there. We ordered the Scallion Pancakes, House Special Dumplings, General Tso's Chicken, and Chicken and Broccoli. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. I would recommend all the above!

This review is for delivery. I ordered delivery from here (on a third party app) the other day. We wanted to try a variety so we got the pork and chive dumplings, soup dumpling, dumpling sichuan, and beef chow foon. Despite ordering delivery, the food still arrived warm. The sichuan dumplings were our fave but we really enjoyed all the dumplings. The soup dumplings had started to leak, but that's to be expected by delivery. We really liked the beef chow foon, the perfect hint of sweet and plenty spicy. Overall, we really liked everything and look forward to trying their other dumplings.

Service Food Perfect space for conversations even when it's a full house. After our wonderful meal, our waiter presented us with a beautifully packed mooncake as it's close to the Mid-autumn Festival. What not to love about this place?

My wife and I love dumplings. I have made dumplings; we can always eat a cozy, comfy dumpling. We ordered the house special dumplings, which were juicy and delicious. My wife got the pork wonton soup = for 22 bucks. A bargain. The waiters were formal and helpful. The sauces are great. I will go back again and am considering ordering for a catered event.

First time dining in although I have ordered their takeout before in the past and only tried their dumplings. So glad that they are open for dining in as well now. The dumplings are really fresh and one can easily taste the difference between their house made ones and the frozen ones you get in the supermarket. We wolfed down two plates of dumplings - house special which contains shrimp inside and pork/chives one. The entree dish was rather disappointing and I had a bad tummy ache after the meal. We ordered this sweet and spicy sauce beef dish that was under chef recommendations section but it was way too hard and caramelized that we could not finish most of it. We took it home but just tossed it away anyway. Just order their dumplings next time!

We recently stopped by for dinner. Not a huge place, but a decent amount of seating. Service was cordial, attentive, and fast. We ordered sesame chicken and beef with broccoli. The beef dish was pretty good, nice flavor with plenty of fresh broccoli. The flavor of the sesame chicken was pleasant, although the breading was a bit thick for my taste. Good prices and selection with adequate portions for sure.

Ordered take out from here and was really happy with everything I got for the most part. Would definitely recommend here especially since Chinese food, specifically, can be so hit or miss! The only thing I would say was a bummer was the xiao dumplings (soup dumplings) the soup had literally all absorbed or spilled out of the dumplings which really is not their fault... they don't travel well in general and our door dasher took over an hour to deliver (separate issue haha). Otherwise got a pretty good array of things and were all really good. The only reason I took a star off is I did put medium spicy on everything ordered and literally the only thing remotely spicy was the ma po tofu. But otherwise the beef chow foon, chicken fried rice, xioa dumplings (even though the soup had disappeared) , spicy dumplings and mapo tofu I ordered were all flavorful and yummy! Would def order from here again.... Hopefully with a different delivery person haha

Surprisingly quiet but we were eating early. Have as many tables as they can fit into the space so when it is full, it is full. Our group started with seaweed salad, hot and sour soup, and chicken and corn soup. Only negative was chicken and corn soup was so very hot in temperature it took time to cool to enjoy. Followed with tea and three kinds of (pan fried) dumplings: vegetable; shrimp with chives; and fish with cilantro. Flavors were good and plenty of dumplings (12 per serving?) but veg were very plain (broccoli) and may have benefitted from an "and" as the others did. (Perhaps a bit of ginger?). Waiter kept our water glasses full without asking. Second time here. I will keep coming back!

My friend, wife, and I ordered Dumplings & Beyond to our friend's place per their suggestion. We were very impressed and loved all the dumplings and Szechuan Spicy Boil Fish, Orange Chicken, and Cumin Lamb. We look forward from here again!

3.5 for dining in! I got the crispy beef and chicken cilantro dumpling. I came in early so it was pretty empty but nice enough inside. The chicken cilantro dumpling had a very delicious filling but the dough itself was too thick for me. The crispy beef didn't taste like beef at all, just tasted and felt the fried flour on it unfortunately. The sauce itself was good but not what I was hoping for with the dish. I would maybe try some other things there but it's also a little pricey, $19.99 for the beef and I think under $14 for the dumplings which is more reasonable for that portion imo.

The food, the service and the ambiance was so cute! We went for lunch and now i'm craving the soup again!! Would recommend the chicken soup and hot and sour soup were delicious!

I was impressed! We ordered takeout, and the food was still pretty warm. We got the General Tso's Chicken, the crispy beef, and chicken & cilantro dumplings. All of the food was super fresh!! The crispy beef had a tangy flavor, and actually was crispy. The vegetables were a great accompaniment. The chicken and cilantro dumplings had a great flavor, and the spicy sauce was the perfect addition. The general tso's was overall good but could have been more flavorful/crispy. The portions were also pretty generous! I would definitely order again!

A Georgetown favorite! My coexterns and I love to come out here after a long day at work to get some warm and delicious dumplings! The soup dumplings are amazing and the beef noodle soup has so much flavor! The portions sizes are huge too. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for some amazing food in Georgetown.

Food: amazing. ALL the dumplings are SUPER. The veggie dumplings are WONDERFULLY flavored. I am pretty obsessed with their dumplings. The have their own dipping sauce and hot oil - they're also fantastic. And I'm so picky with dumplings having grown up in China. I don't think these will disappoint you. The other dishes I can not say as much because I mainly come here for the dumplings (it's in their name!). The garlic eggplant, however, is really worthy to mention - it's not very spicy but it's SO flavorful. This is another one of those dishes that as I'm writing I'm salivating over. Definitely try that even if you're not an eggplant fan. If you are... you're welcome :) Service: pretty good, takeout is efficient and good too Ambiance: typical Chinese restaurant, not a fancy place but you don't come here for the ambiance guys. Reservations probably not needed on weekdays, can't say about weekend. I've been here for takeout for myself, with other people, and for catering larger events - home run every single time. I sure have plans to return - get those dumplings!

The food was okay. I don't know if I would order again though. I ordered the fried dumplings and fried fish. The dumplings were honestly underwhelming. It just tasted like meat with not too much dimensions in flavor. I didn't even finish it. The fish had good texture but was mild in flavor. Maybe I should've gotten it spicier?

Loved it here for lunch. Generous portions; Ingredients were fresh and all dishes were delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely return with friends in the near future!

Although Dumplings & Beyond serves a wide variety of traditional Chinese dishes, they definitely know where their specialty lies: their giant, super-flavorful, and amazing dumplings. I've visited (pre-COVID) or ordered catering / delivery / take-out from this well-loved Glover Park favorite countless times, and Dumplings & Beyond never fails to impress me with its consistent quality. Their dumplings all come in orders of 10; while $12-$15 may seem like an average-to-expensive price for that number, it's honestly such a steal because of how huge (and delicious) they are! Each of their selections are fantastic -- they, of course, have the classic pork and chives and pork and napa dumplings, which have both received rave reviews from all of my meat-eating friends. Before I became pescatarian, I was in love with their chicken and black mushroom dumplings, which was really surprising as chicken is a pretty non-traditional filling since it usually isn't quite as juicy and aromatic as pork or shrimp. Even so, these dumplings were wonderful little parcels of flavor, and I didn't miss the extra fattiness and juiciness that pork or shrimp would have offered them at all. For those who don't eat land-eating animals (or meat at all), there are still plenty of delicious options! They have two seafood choices -- fish and cilantro and shrimp and chive, and both of them are absolutely phenomenal. This was my first time trying a purely fish dumpling, and I'm bewildered as to why I haven't made them in the past! The fish was delightfully tender and extremely juicy -- it's honestly a little hard to eat these dumplings elegantly because the dumplings are so large that it's impossible to eat them in one bite (or even two) and they're so filled with juice that they rival a soup dumpling. The filling was also amazingly aromatic from the cilantro and ginger, but these additions were still subtle enough to let the natural flavors of the fish shine. The shrimp and chive dumplings were similarly delightful, with the mildly sweet shrimp beautifully dancing off the earthy, herby bite of the chives. The shrimp had a slight bounce, which, paired with their expertly crafted dumpling skins, gave the entire parcel a wonderful QQ texture. And their veggie dumplings...ah...how do I even start! These are genuinely some of the best vegetarian dumplings I've ever had in my life. Despite my and my parents' best efforts to one-up Dumplings & Beyond, these still hold the crown for the most flavorful veggie dumplings I've ever tried on this side of the Pacific. I couldn't even tell you which vegetables are inside of these parcels of goodness, but I'm thoroughly amazed by their blend -- it provides just the right level of mild sweetness, deep umami (thank you to their normal and wood ear mushrooms), and aromatic herbs. Whether you're vegetarian or not, these are a great addition to any order! They also somehow managed to get the texture of the dumplings just right, despite the addition of many dark leafy greens (which, at least in my own dumpling-making experience, have a tendency to get bunched up into a super tough-to-chew knot). If only Dumplings & Beyond could pass along their recipe and host a few dumpling-making classes...but, until then, I'll remain a loyal patron. Of course, we can't entirely ignore the "& Beyond" part of this restaurant's name! If you aren't in the mood for dumplings, this shop also has an expansive menu with all of the traditional Chinese favorites (and Chinese-American favorites, if that's more your speed). I've personally really enjoyed their mapo tofu, super classic and homey tomato and egg with noodles, and hot garlic eggplant, but you really can't go wrong with the vast majority of their menu. Although these dishes are certainly tasty, I will admit that they pale in comparison to the quality of their dumplings, so I would definitely recommend that you come here because you're specifically craving dumplings and wouldn't mind having some other, solid Chinese food alongside it, rather than because you really want traditional Chinese cooking and are ambivalent to having a dumpling or two thrown into the mix. When they were open for dine-in, Dumplings & Beyond also had a delightful ambiance with speedy service. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, they've closed their doors to all but take-out and delivery orders, but I'm honestly just so grateful that they're still open and providing DC with the most wonderful dumplings the city has to offer.

Very good food. Service friendly, prompt and efficient. Good location and cozy dining area. Very inclusive hiring of staff. Recommend greens with garlic, beef dumplings. Food can be inconsistent. If ordering for pick up, recommend doing so in person vs using app platforms.

I ordered delivery from Caviar (part of DoorDash) and got a lunch special, which I believe included the hot n sour soup. I can't really say anything about the food because it's all overshadowed by this giant plastic nail (?) that I got a mouthful of when when taking my first bites of soup! Guess this is what they mean by the "beyond..." Totally abhorrent and I've contacted Caviar customer advice who I thought would be more helpful initially, but was given 24 hours for a response. Will never order from here again!!!

Ordered delivery via Doordash after having heard good things about Dumplings and Beyond from a friend and was not disappointed! I sampled the Dumplings Sichuan and the Fish with Black Bean sauce, both of which were enjoyable. I expected ma laa/numbing flavor from the Sichuan Dumplings and instead tasted a salty, slightly sweet sauce that was pleasant but not what I would have ordered had I known that it would not be spicy. 4/5 for this item. Fish with Black Bean sauce is a salty, comforting delight. The fish tends to be the whitest of white fishes and the onions/peppers are typically the perfect contrast to the softness of fish and the saltiness of the sauce. This dish did everything that it should've done and, combined with the rice that was included, deserves a 5/5. Portion size was good, flavor profile was as good as expected, and the experience was enjoyable. Hoping to visit the actual restaurant and sample more dumplings and entrees in the near future.

I been visiting this place for a few years now. And is always the same, great quality food and good service. My favorites are: Chicken - cilantro dumplings // try it with their dumpling sauce Walnut shrimp Vegetable Lo mein all that with a hot tea pot of Jasmin tea I cant' wait to go back

Not the same quality we were used to. Our previous two meals - one dining in and one delivery - were very good to excellent. Good quality portions and well cooked food. Unfortunately tonight's Uber Eats delivery ended up being a timely delivery of medocure Chinese food. Kang Po Chicken - the chicken - what there was of it - was tasty. It was a tad gummy - too much corn starch. Way too many pieces of green peppers and onion. I buy fresh chicken breasts at Harris Teeter for $3.99 a pound. I would say there was $0.50 worth of chicken in the dish. Dish #2 - Chicken Lo Main. Where's the chicken? I would say $0.20 worth of chicken. The noodles were simply overcooked. Too soft. Very disappointed with both dishes.

Dumplings and noodles are 5 stars!!!! But I got a shrimp dish for the first time and they were old. Chicken dishes are fine. Go here for the dumplings!!!

A GREAT deal for dumplings and more right in glover park! It is clear they do majority take out, but there are about 10 tables inside and we decided to sit down. We decided to try out the lunch special - a great deal, we ordered egg drop soup, general tso's chicken, and a side of rice - delish! We also started with just one order of the house special dumplings, expecting to order more however the dumplings came in an order of 12! Needless to say we were full! We would absolutely love to come back as the food was great and prices were unbeatable!

If you can, order ahead and pickup during the pandemic. I came in to place an order and immediately I entered, everywhere was kinda dark and dead silent. I have to double check that the restaurant was still open. Now I know that I am soft-toned and sometimes people find it difficult to hear what im saying while I'm wearing a mask, so I try to be as audible as possible. However when I tried to ask the staff for a quick clarification on an item on the menu, I was met with very blank stares until one of the many staff members I could see got up to move closer to me. There was generally very little customer service and the focus was on preparing the orders--the restaurant is closed to the public and so majority of the orders seemed to have been called in. I ordered the combination Chow Fun, which came with beef, chicken, and shrimps with the noodles. The portion was quite generous and I enjoyed the meal, although I would have appreciated a little less oil in the dish. I also ordered the dumplings, which were really tasty! My order came out within 10 minutes of my order and so the service is quite fast and efficient. This is a decent choice for Chinese food in the area.

A great find and hands-down some good Chinese Cuisine eats! Trying to find really good Chinese cuisine and take out in DC can definitely be a hit or miss....BUT, I must say my experience at Dumplings & Beyond was a "HIT!" This was my first time ordering from here, after having a craving for asian and stumbling on this place while running errands in the Glover Park neighborhood. area. Due to COVID, the restaurant is open for takeout and delivery only. I place an order for takeout when was fast and really quick. The menu was expansive, but I ordered the House Special and Vegetables Dumplings, Hot n' Sour Soup, and General Tso's Chicken. In a nutshell, EVERYTHING....was the bomb!....delicious and fresh. The dumplings were the highlight and very good. I ordered them as pan fried over steamed; with the House Special Dumpling (freshly made with pork, shrimp, & napa) being my favorite. They were huge and generously stuffed. I also, ordered the Hot n' Sour Soup which was soooooo good. It had the right amount of tofu, ginger, and chili paste spice to make this appetizer dish memorable and something that I will order again. Last, the General Too Chicken was a winner as well. This dish was filled with chunks of lightly breaded chicken, tossed in a finger-licking sweet and spicy sauce that had a great garlic and ginger kick! All the ingredients and veggies were fresh and the entree portions were large....enough to share for sure! In all, great food and a pleasant surprise given that my expectation for good Chinese takeout DC has been far and few. The service was fast, friendly and the server taking my order was very attentive, helpful and patiently answered menu questions. Dumplings & Beyond....is a "Thumbs Up" in my book! I definitely will be returning and keep this spot on repeat when craving good asian eats!!
