Where to begin? This establishment lives up to its reputation, offering an exceptional dining experience. The service is impeccable, and the food is simply divine. The prime rib was the highlight of my meal, surpassing any I have had throughout the United States. The vodka sauce pasta was cooked to perfection, and the pepper flakes, which could have been added to the sauce, are provided on the side. The strawberry shortcake is a must-try and truly unforgettable. The wine selection is exceptional, and the after-dinner drinks provide a perfect conclusion to a memorable evening.

We live in the neighborhood and were really happy to see Durant’s reopen and feel like itself again. Walking in through the kitchen is still part of the experience, and I loved seeing that they kept the phone booth and the original bathroom signage. Those details matter, and it’s clear there was real intention around preserving the character of the space. For anyone concerned about changes: yes, it’s refreshed and a bit more polished, but the soul of Durant’s is absolutely still there. Restaurants can’t be frozen in time forever, and what matters is whether the integrity is respected. In this case, it is. Durant’s is expensive and may be more of a special-occasion spot for many people, but it’s not inaccessible. It sounds like Friday lunch is coming back, and the bar and appetizers are a great option if you want something more low-key. The food was excellent. My partner had the ribeye and I had the sea bass, and both were exactly what you’d hope for. Service was attentive, professional, and very much in line with what Durant’s has always been known for. The only small thing that stood out to me was the TV in the bar. I can’t remember if it was there before, but it pulled slightly from the otherwise classic vibe. Overall, this feels like a thoughtful revival rather than a reinvention. The restaurant is elevated, but the atmosphere, service, and experience remain unmistakably Durant’s. Looking forward to coming back and sitting at the bar next time.

The first time we went was a few weeks before they closed and my parents really wanted to go back for the 2025 holiday season (or the end of it) - and wow, even better than it was before - just impeccable service and loved the fine dining experience - we ordered up front and the portioned it out so we could complete one thing before the next item came (Appetizer - had the Rhode Island Calami, so good), then the salads (I had the chopped salad, very old school, loved it), then the main dish with sides. I hate to admi this, but not a steak guy. I got the grilled branzino - whole fish fillet (bones removed), with lemon butter, very good, and good for you. I also had a glass of the Sauvignon Blanc with my grilled fish (and a side of Rosemary Truffle Fries) - $20 n the wine by the glass list (very good). I also started the meal with the Lychee zero-proof cocktail and my mother agreed that she would get that next time, delicious, great way to ease into the dining experience. By the way, the wine was from Craggy Range, perfectly chilled - came to the table right as the fish arrived, perfect! The creme Brulle cream corn is amazing. Parents split the large prime rib (22 oz) but could easily split the small cut (16 oz) - once again, not a red meat person but had a taste - very good prime rib. I also liked that they sat us at the same table as last time (I believe) and must have it noted that we prefer a table over a booth (bad knees - tables are easier). Valet parking is only $6 (though of course, I tipped those) and with the amount of wait staff and level of service, we did a 25% tip on the meal - they also boxed up the leftovers - the grilled fish was just as good the next day. Next time lessons (bread is amazing but would skip, to not fill up on it, but love the old school relish tray that comes with it (Bread included in meal) - will definitely get the calamari and shrimp appetizer again - and I would skip the salad (though it is lovely), and just get the main entree and a side as I was already pretty full by the time the main dish came, and would like to try one of their deserts (the Strawberry shortcake is supposed to be amazing) - next time I'll try the grilled sea bass (I think there is a grilled option on a skewer, not sure). Larger restroom is by the bar (very clean) - and I loved the music, nice mix and not too loud. Kudos to the update of Durant's even better than it was before. :-)

Durants 2.0 is a success… I felt like I was in the old Durants but a fresh vibe. The new owners did a thoughtful job on the remodeling for functionality and ambiance. The service was impeccable from moment of entry to departure with attention to detail on everything from making sure glasses were full, crumbs were removed, quality of food was to our expectation, personable and just the right amount of check-ins where you didn’t feel like they were hovering. The food was spectacular- seasoned, portion sizes and temperature were on point. Menu paid homage to some classic items while adding new ones. It was a wonderful experience throughout the evening and I can only hope future guest have the same experience. Chef’s Kiss to the entire staff and management.

Mastros family revamped a classic Phoenix steakhouse. It's better than ever now....Sinatra swanky vibes.

Durant’s is back pand thankfully, it didn’t lose its soul in the process. After reopening under the ownership of the Mastro’s family, Durant’s feels like a respectful love letter to a Phoenix icon. The moment you walk in, it’s clear they were intentional about preserving what made Durant’s Durant’s: the dim lighting, red leather booths, and old-school swagger. What has changed is the polish and it’s the good kind. You can feel the Mastro’s touch in the details: elevated service, refined execution, and food that absolutely delivers. Every dish we had was excellent. And then there’s dessert. Keeping the strawberry shortcake was such a smart, sentimental move. It’s more than just a dessert—it’s an homage to Durant’s history, and longtime fans will appreciate that it’s still there. All in all, this reopening feels like a win for Phoenix!

We talked with our bartender Tom. Very knowledgeable on the bar menu and the food selections. Helped us make educated choices. It was the first time my friend and I had ever been in the restaurant. We really wanted to end our year with a special experience. Every server was so attentive and helpful. The managers end. Checked in on us. We will definitely go back and try some other options from the menu.

So glad to learn that Durant's will re-open on December 10, 2025. Always loved dining there. When living in the Willo District my late husband and I dined there often. We introduced Durant's to our east coast (Vermont) friends, and they loved it as well. We still get together whenever possible to enjoy the ambiance. Great welcoming staff and service. I have not been to Durants in awhile, so I chose to dine here for a big milestone birthday with a friend. Let me tell you, the experience was amazing, the serve was amazing, and the food was amazing. The dark restaurant, with the red walls brought back so many good memories and made me remember why I loved Durants so much. The host at the front was so nice and she made sure we were comfortable while waiting for our table. We started off with some champagne for a drink, and had spinach dip for a appetizer. for the main course, we had salmon and a ribeye. We had beer the night with the Creme Brûlée dessert which was lovely. The food, service, and vibes were a 10/10. I cannot wait to come back and receive the amazing experience Durants has to offer.

Have not been to Durant in many years. This landmark restaurant has been around for more than 70 years. Still has the old school ambience. Same red decor and entrance through the kitchen. Stopped in for weekday dinner. Service is exceptional. Had a prime rib end cut with baked potato and salad. Shared a calamari appetizer with friend. Food was very good. Prices were moderate to high but comparable to other high end steak houses. Good place for lunch or that special dinner occaision.

The service was great and the food was delicious. It was definitely pricey but nothing crazy for a fancy steakhouse. The Christmas decorations were beautiful. The waitress did great recommending menu items to us and our water glasses were always filled for us. Expect to be here for a couple hours at least if you're going to get appetizers, drinks, dessert etc. The steaks come with salads and a side. Our drinks came out, then appetizer, then the complimentary bread, then the salad, then the steak with side. That being said, we had a fun night and definitely left full which I was a little worried about knowing small steak portions.

This is an absolute must try steakhouse if you're anywhere in the Phoenix area. It is a mob-tied restaurant that has that old traditional style feel. I couldn't resist not having a steak so I ordered the 18oz ribeye. I have had lot of steaks in my day and when I tell you this is the best steak I've ever had I mean it. The seasoning and way it was grilled was absolutely insane. Your meal comes with a salad and a side AND on top of that they bring out complimentary veggies and bread. I was not hot on the salad (I ordered Caesar) but the ciabatta bread was delicious and for my side I ordered a baked potato which they bring all the toppings separately for. We ordered a key lime pie (even though we were stuffed- you have to it's a must) because they said they hand make their desserts. This was another insane item and I am still dreaming about this pie. The service was amazing and the server assistants are very attentive and pay attention to little details. I cannot recommend this place enough. You get what you pay for the quality of food and service was well worth it. For two of us we both ordered ribeyes, 2 martinis, coke and dessert with tip included was $282. Definitely beats those over hyped Scottsdale steakhouses!

This place is a must have!!! Food: I loved everything I tried except for the Debris (appetizer) because the cuts I had were not very good cuts of the meat but the other appetizers we had were wonderful. We had a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal and our time there. We had everything from the calamari to steaks and salads. Service: our waiter was stoic but otherwise service was fast and great. Ohhhh the ambience: it's like you have been transported back in time. Which is one of the best parts. It's apparently the oldest steakhouse in Phoenix and it shows! They have done a great job in preserving the menu and the decor! I loved it. I have no pictures because it's a tad dark and to be honest, I was enjoying the food and company so much that I didn't even look at my phone.

The food is mostly excellent, but dinner service takes a while. Courses are spaced out -- Appetizer, dinner salad, an oil-soaked giant ciabatta no one had room for, entree and then eventually a dessert. There was also a light crudités plate that showed up with the water. The crostinis that came with our spinach and artichoke dip were inedible. Like stale bread was toasted to give it a new life, but it already lost its pulse the previous morning. Chewy and just general agony for one's jaw. They also paired it with tortilla chips which quickly became the only option to enjoy the dip, as our teeth began to resist the toasted bread. 2 people could likely share an entree (unless you get the chicken piccata, otherwise there will be 2 hungry people after feasting on 3 large sautéed chicken nuggets). (1) 8 oz. prime rib with salad and side proved to be too filling for me after fasting most of the day in preparation for an excessive meal. Dessert was great. Some patrons were dressed like they were going to a New Year's Eve party at a country club, while others were dressed like they had just been kicked out of Topgolf after drinking too many buckets of Coronas. I don't think it matters as long as you're not wearing sweatpants...? Yes, it's a very old-school steakhouse but with modern touches like some gang graffiti tags in the bathroom stall. I would go back again. Still not sure if they ever bought happy hour back, but I'd much rather sit at the bar.

Durant's is a very special place. It's the kind of dimly lit, tufted leather booth, candles, red walled restaurant that you would expect to see the rat pack in. It's a very old school steakhouse exactly like you see in the movies. You enter from the back and walk through the kitchen. The server's here are very professional, it looks like some have been here forever and they know exactly what they're doing. I love that they let you have time to have your cocktail before even asking if you want to order. They start off by bringing you crudite, ranch dip with veggie sticks and olives. It's a great way to start the meal. Then there is the bread. This bread is like nothing you've ever had before. After it's baked they pour a leak butter garlic concoction on top. It's kind of amazing! Of course everything served is absolutely delicious. We have been there on a couple of our anniversaries, and each time they have surprised us with a wonderful dessert. Everybody in the Phoenix area should have dinner at Durant's at least once. Have a great steak dinner and feel like you've gone back in time.

A friend recommended Durant's a year ago because we are both fans of liver... random, I know! I finally made the drive tonight! After the customary 20 minutes lost in the airport lanes, I finally got here. And was it worth it! Gail, the bartender, was so attentive and suggested great compliments for everything. The iceberg wedge was fresh and crispy. Just needed a bit of salt and zest. The liver appetizer?! Oh my gosh! Amazing! If you're a liver fan, you will love these crispy critters! Enjoy them with the creamy horseradish! And the ambiance here? Stunning and lavish!

I'm SO glad Durant's has finally been put out of its misery. I'm a native Phoenician, and have spent the last couple decades watching in agony, as this place slowly break down and dries up. We used to go here as a family routinely, in addition to special occasions, but as the years ticked by and everything continued to degrade, we spent less and less time here. I doubt we've gone back within the last five years. I'm excited for Durant's future, under real restaurant leadership.

Good God, this place is amazing! But you pay for what you get...be prepared to drop a few hundred. With that, though, you get exceptional service, excellent food, incredible atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back.

To get the full Durant experience you must enter through the back door taking you into the kitchen. You will have the pleasure of smelling the steaks as they sizzle on the grill. The chefs and staff will great you as if the knew you were coming. Next is the decor. You will think you just stepped back in time to a old west saloon steak house. From the wallpaper to the 1/2 moon booths. You have to experience this. The oysters Rockefeller were delicious. Save some bread to dip into the cheese left on the plate. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. Can't say enough for the service. Excellent staff took care of everything we asked for. Now be ready to spend a few dollars as the lowest priced steak is $85.00 that said the prices were worth the experience.

Me and my family recently went to Durant's to celebrate a birthday. This has become a family tradition of ours since we discovered this place years ago. We love to come here for the New York strip steak as it is a fan favorite of ours and to those we recommend. I have to say my favorite part about this place is walking through the back entrance through the kitchen as it gives such a fun energy. I also really enjoy the ambience of the restaurant as it has this dark elegant dinner set up. I will say we did come across a problem after we ordered our food. Most of our table had ordered steaks of various requested doneness and there seemed to have been a mixup on the kitchens end. After half of the steaks arrived, we had realized that they were all different levels of doneness from those we had ordered. Upon that the waitress had taken a few back to get recooked and others discovered their steaks had problems as well. There was a lot of confusion and a lot of send backs which disrupted dinner and ultimately did cause a bummer as we do look forward to coming to this place as it is a very nice restaurant. These steaks aren't cheap which we happily pay for as we do love them but this time they just got messed up. We appreciate the staff accommodating and trying to fix the steaks though. I just believe it was a simple mistake as the orders for the dining seating probably got switched around. I will also say that the New York strip did taste different this year and I do prefer the previous years version much better. The owner came out and ended up speaking to us and apologizing for the situation and we really appreciated it. We really love this place and just had an unfortunate dining situation which was smoothed over by Jill. We will be returning soon to try it out again as we do cherish the spot and we'll keep recommending it in the future after revisiting. I'd also like to add that the spinach salad that came with the steak is really good and the raisins and pecans add a sweet flavor. If you're also looking for a dessert, I recommend the strawberry cake as it has the best syrupy strawberries.

Looking for a steakhouse that wasn't too far from where I was staying in Downtown Phoenix I came across this old school legendary restaurant. Durants has been around for quite some time from what I can tell. It has a rat pack feel to it. The decor, the staff and the kitchen all emulate what the steakhouse experience should be. Ricardo, my waiter was very attentive. I knew exactly what I wanted as they have their entrees that include a salad and a side. They start you off with a small crudité platter, followed by their house bread with oil, onions and leeks. What an amazing flavor. Started with my included Cesar salad, 8 oz filet medium rare with roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Plenty of food. I was stuffed. I could not do dessert and was disappointed as I heard every dessert is made in house. If you're looking for the old school steakhouse experience this is your spot.

Hate to give away a local secret but if you are into Italian especially pasta this place is a must ! Friendly informative staff, Appropriate prices and fresh goes without saying .Their pasta is manufactured onsite maybe the day you purchase it ! So does use all a favor and patronize them but keep them a "secret"

Considering the price point of each item, I'd expect some quality to the food. The scallops still had sand in them. Come on. That's the basics. You clean them before serving them. They were over salted, tough, and inedible. Shoving one down my gullet was torture. Find a cook who actually knows seafood if you're going to serve it. The prime rib was proudly announced as medium well despite ordering medium rare. I really don't appreciate when male servers decide to up cook my food past medium rare. Which should have more pink than grey. So tell me why there was none? And btw, they train steak house servers to do this for women :) sincerely worked at about 4 steak houses. It's not appreciated and outdated. Get with the times. Served an unseasoned, grey piece of meat unfit for a dog. I've worked a steakhouse before, you can get a better prime rib at a chain. Easily. And not at wallet breaking prices. Considering how over salted the entire meal was, it was jarring that the prime rib was flavourless, as was the Au jus. The only decent part was the raw horse radish that comes out of a Shamrock container. The saltiest potato I've had the misfortune of tasting while still having to build myself. Sour cream had gone off. Had a funk about it. And the most foul negroni that taste of pure vermouth. Considering it's a cocktail I get wherever I see it, just shame on your bartender. Absolutely the worst cocktail I've had full stop. How dare you serve that to your customers. Taste test it! And don't sent it out if it's not good. Entering through the kitchen to not be greeted until, "Reservation" by an old woman who clearly hates her job was deeply uncomfortable. Especially since there's a strong smell of grease coming from the kitchen. Please clean your hood traps. The staff in general seems to hate one another as there's no teamwork or communication. Steak houses are supposed to use the pivot point system for the table, so why was the food runner confused? Same with drinks, why were they auctioning? It's loud, cramped, and the server we had was too much. Waiter tried too hard the whole meal. Neither funny and his extra touches ruined my dinner. Not worth a cent spent and I regret that my host sincerely thinks this place has good food. I'll be sure to point him to a different place. Cause good grief I do so love waking up cramping from dinner after 4 years of carefully managing my gut health. Shame on you all. And it's closed. Imagine that.

This is the kind of restaurant I love, a place reminiscent of where the "Rat Pack" might go to dinner in the 50's. From the red semi circle booths to the entrance in the rear ( through the kitchen) this had all the hallmarks of a true dining adventure. I met my cousins for a weekend trip and once we saw Durant's we had to try it. We started out with drinks and this was just the start of the exceptional service to go along with the decor and ambiance. I shared the bone in 22 oz rib eye with my brother, what a great choice. The steak was perfect, both tender and flavorful. The wedge salad was wonderful and we ordered the Onion rings which was a great addition to the steaks. To end the meal we got the strawberry shortcake and Key Lime pie to share amongst the cousins, truly a great dining experience.

*I would give this place 0/5 if Yelp had that option* I'd heard a lot about this place, especially their steaks and martinis according to their website. The parking was convenient and the ambiance was cute retro. But the disappointments started from the beginning, I asked my server about his suggestions but didn't get any suggestions or tips. We ordered their shrimp cocktail, 2 steaks, clam chowder. The shrimp cocktail was good, I would say it felt like it is a bit old but acceptable. The clam chowder tasted like the premade ones from grocery stores. Both steaks had similar issues: they were very bland like there was not an oz of seasoning in either. The other issue was that there was not any sauce to add or butter on the steaks. So with all respect for the kitchen, all the restaurant should charge is the meat price from the butcher because even the side was waffle fries, nothing was really made by the chef. I also need to add that the cutleries and dishes were really old and unappetizing. I think for a restaurant with such high reputation, you cant afford to have these many errors hopefully they work on the way they operate.

Food was great, But Brought as group in for business. Ordered drinks, Old Fashion was terrible sent it back. Client ordered bottle of wine from Australia, did not taste very well so waited for it to breathe, looked over bottle label and found a label on back Drink by 6/2018 never seen date on wine? Waitress said it was inventory label??? Looked it up and according to Australia law they are required to put shelf life on their wine. Was not good and felt I was lied to. Food finally came and was delicious.

Great service and atmosphere. Had dinner at the bar and the service was fantastic. The steak and shrimp were delicious. Strawberry desert was fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Durant's exceeded my expectations!!!! I learned about this place years ago when I first moved to Arizona, and I have always wanted to go. Well that wish was granted and I could not have been happier. From the moment you walk through the kitchen it felt like walking through time. The atmosphere and decor were amazing. Our waiter Nick was wonderful and so knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant. Sitting in our red booth, I could look out and imagine mobsters, celebrities like the Rat Pack, and old time actors dining or sitting at the bar. The food and drinks were amazing. Our martini's were to die for...and I was wonderfully surprised to find wines from Napa, where I am from. Our steaks melted in our mouths, and the seasoning was out of this world. And the loaf of bread they gave us...I don't know what they put in their olive oil seasoning but it was fantastic. In a fast pace world of today, it was refreshing to sit and truly enjoy a meal with a friend and not feel pressured to hurry up. Yes it is pricey, but so worth every penny. This was not just a meal, but an experience...where you spent a couple hours allowing your senses to see, hear, smell, and taste the wonders of an amazing restaurant. And I found out that if you want to learn more about Jack Durant the founder, there is book out called The Saga of Jack Durant. I cannot wait to read it!!! And I cannot wait to go back....

We were pretty excited to come here for a great steak but unfortunately we were pretty disappointed besides being very expensive we paid $70 for a super thin T-bone that looked like a thin pork chop. And get this super thin steak, so disappointed, took the wind out of our sails, As for the sides that are additional $15 or so potatoes with with a many people pile of cheese, I have had great potatoes, au gratin but these just tasted like potatoes with cheese, overwhelmed by cheese NOT amazing savory taste, as anticipated. We doid order a crab cake as well FYI its only one for $40 with no lumps of crab in it... You do get a little vegetable tray I was ok except for olives were mushy. drinks were quite tasty as they should be because they were pretty expensive as well. When you pay this much for a meal it should be scrum delicious Leaving you wanting more. Well this place did not so it for use at all. We did in joy the old world charm like taking a step back in time, not gonna lie we were thrown thewalking through the kitchen to get to the dining room we thought we walked through the wrong door. service was good it was an older lady she was super nice

Durant's has a great vibe. It feels classy, yet not formal. You can tell it's been a great establishment for decades. But what they put on the plate does not justify their prices. Their Caesars salad is overly dressed. Bread is served soaking in olive oil. The steak was just slightly overcooked ($108 for a ribeye btw), while flavorful, but not close to $108 good. Sides were plain and somewhat disappointing. Had waffle fries. Their dessert was good and we enjoyed the Martinis. But, if you want excellent steak? Go elsewhere. I'd probably stop by for drinks in the bar instead.

What a classic old school steakhouse!! I went here recently and had heard about this place for many years. It was outstanding from the dark ambience and classic leather seats. The service was on point with fantastic prime steaks and excellent beverages. The staff was very impressive with most being very tenured employees and experienced. I would highly recommend this place.

Update your hours so you don't waste peoples time. Pathetic and amateur hour. Wednesday hours shows it was open on Google and but was actually closed.

I love everything about this place. I love coming in through the kitchen, getting a cocktail at the bar, and being seated in the Naugahyde Emporium of a restaurant. Tonight I started with a wedge...and not some bullshit deconstructed wedge, but actually a wedge, a wedge of iceberg lettuce with a hard-boiled egg and blue cheese dressing and blue cheese, crumbles, and bacon, and everything that makes a wedge a wedge. For my main, I decided to go with the oysters Rockefeller appetizer, it was amazing. You don't see it on menus very often anymore and there are only a few places I would order it, (Golden Steer in Las Vegas is one of them), absolutely perfection. Susie ordered the 8 ounce fillet and the Au Gratin potatoes. This place continues to be old school cool, there's nothing about it I don't like, even the surly bartenders are fabulous.

My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate his birthday. The give you garlic bread and also veggie sticks as a dip. We ordered prime rib and the sirloin steak. The prime rib was delicious. I ordered medium well for my steak but it came out well done and extremely salty. My boyfriend had to pour his sauce for the prime rib on my meat to help it be less salty. They gave him a free dessert. The service was very nice. The atmosphere was cozy and warm. The key lime pie dessert was wonderful.

Treating ourselves to a classy, classic old-school dining experience at the legendary #Durants in #Phoenix. Dinner was "Joyce" martinis, Manhattans, fried chicken livers, wedge salad and a T-bone steak. And we get dessert free for life because we have the 65th anniversary poker chips. We shared key lime pies and strawberry shortcake. You enter through the back door and walk through the kitchen and into history. Joe DiMaggio, Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable and John Wayne all frequented Durant's. Sad to learn that the "meat puppets" (skewers of salami and cheese) served as bar bites were a casualty of Covid and no longer available.

Searched the best steakhouses before arriving in Phoenix. This was on the short list. Then my buddy told me to go here. Called ahead to hear that the tables were all booked but I could get a bar seat without a reservation. Of course you enter through the kitchen and get greeted by the staff which is nice. I resisted the urge to stop and take pics. Arrived at the host station to a full house. It had the old Rat Pack/Mafia vibe. Was seated at the bar and ordered a Heineken. One of the playoff games was ordered up on the nearby TV. The bartender brought some celery, carrots and radishes with my drink. The dressing was a house that was close to ranch but not quite. I eyed my neighbor's garlic leek bread. I wanted it but I knew I didn't need it (I'd skip dessert later for the same reasons). I had already reviewed the menu so I pretty much knew I'd be going with a wedge salad with blue cheese, delmonico 20 oz bone in steak and loaded potato. (I was a little surprised at the premium paid for that bacon, cheese and sour cream with chives - oh well). The wedge salad was a small wedge and honestly perfect. The blue cheese was really good and the bacon and tomatoes were a great addition. I wanted to save some for the next day. Did not happen. The steak came and it was also quite good. Perfectly medium rare. But here's the thing about a Delmonico. There really is no such thing. It's basically a ribeye but every place has a slightly different cut. This one was more like a sirloin in texture. And it wasn't as laden with fat like a ribeye. It was very good, but it didn't bump anything out of my top 5 or so. (Think Craftsteak wagyu, or Bazaar Meat - both in Vegas. Or Charley's in Orlando. Or Atlantis in Reno). I will say eating at the bar is a bit of a pain with the large padded rail. Might consider the wood blocks that Outback uses. The place seemed to clear out a good bit with empty seats. I enjoyed talking with the other bar patrons. Phoenicians are outgoing! One swore I needed to get the White Chocolate Raspberry cheesecake with Oreo crust. Or the Key Lime Pie (Charley's probably wins that contest too). I declined both in favor of my waistline. The same fellow suggested the prime rib or filet might have been better choices. But I'm never going to turn away from a Delmonico - even with the roulette wheel uncertainty. Service was fine and quick, esp. given the busy bar. Took half the steak and potatoes home and they made a good breakfast. I think the bill was $119 which is a bit steep for one. If the steak was as good as I hoped I wouldn't have flinched at the price. 4.2 stars rounds to 4.

I was born and raised in Arizona, and finally after 30+ years had dinner at Durant's! I really liked the old school vibe of this restaurant and enjoyed entering the restaurant through the kitchen entrance. I ordered the sirloin steak and the meat was juicy and not overly cooked as I ordered it to be cooked Rare+. Feedback for Durant's: We came here for my boyfriend's birthday, and when I called to make the reservations, they asked if we were coming for a special occasion, in which I answered and said it was for a birthday. When we arrived, the hostess asked again if we were here for a special occasion, and I once again said it was for a birthday. Clearly, this information was NOT passed to our server, as we were not offered any birthday dessert after our meal. Very unfortunate and left a poor experience for us.

The owners clearly do not care about the staff. The owners told them the day of closing that they were all losing their jobs and the place was closing for a 6 month renovation. Some of the staff has been working here for years and they all get fired without any warning.

On a whim date night before a concert, Saturday afternoon 4pm no reservations. Got right in and seated. So classy with an old school vibe, tight seating quarters with other guests. The food was just delicious and fresh. We shared an appetizer and an entree and it was plenty of food for both of us with no left overs. The salmon was some of the best I've had, perfectly cooked and flavored! Fresh spinach salad with the complimentary bread was divine. Definitely on the pricy side, but worth it for the ambiance and the amazing meal!

We were expecting a fantastic dinner with all the hype that we heard about Durant's. We were sadly very disappointed. The salads came out quickly, and the entrees came out before we had a chance to finish our salads. The accompaniments were not hot, except for the potatoes. But the biggest disappointment was my wife's medium well steak. It was rare. After we told the waiter about the mix up, and that we requested med/well. The steak went back and another "rare" steak was returned. We gave up trying to fix this and decided that our dogs were going to be very happy. I thought that this Durant meal was to be great, but it turned out below average. No manager visited our table, restaurant was not crowded. The four of us left disappointed. For spending close to $1k, I will go elsewhere. I will not return.

We live in Flagstaff, but try dine at Durants when we can. Birthdays ,anniversaries and such. I went a men's spiritual weekend many years ago and my sponsor took me there. Taught me the back door entrance. I felt like I was in 50's classic steak house. The prime rib was and still is my favorite.

I had heard good things about Durante from several people and was excited to try it. It's totally old school, waiters in bow ties, dim lights and is reminiscent of supper clubs of a by gone era. Interestingly you enter from the car park through the kitchen and then proceed through the doors into to dining area. The ceilings are low and it might appear dated but the service and food are very good. We ordered drinks, and a small dish of celery carrots onions radish and black olives arrived, I don't know when I have been presented with the line for done time. The spinach dip appetizer was delicious, one of the best I have had in a restaurant. After the wedge salad, the chicken piccata, au gratin potatoes and the mushrooms arrived and everything was wonderful. The waffle fries were amazing, so light and crisp!! I really wish Durante could move to a more appealing modern location or remodel, but I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Durants is a historic gem in Phoenix, dating back to the days of cowboys bringing in cattle. While the prices are on the higher side, the generous portions and high-quality ingredients justify the cost. Dining here isn't just about the food; it's about being part of a legacy that has been cherished for generations. The restaurant's rich history and commitment to substantial, quality meals make it a worthwhile experience for those willing to splurge. 4 stars because I haven't once been delivered a martini with a true frost making me feel frozen on my first sip. If I wanted a slap in my face, I'd sip bourbon straight and I'm not knocking bourbon lovers. I'd be excited to share an experience here because it's that superb. (Minus the half azz shaken martinis) ;)

Ruth's Chris has always (for the least 15 years or so, at the least) has been mine and my husband's favorite steak dinner. Been there many many times and have always recommended them as the absolute best. We also have been to many other high end and highly recommended steak houses. But nothing that really knocked our socks off of you know what I mean. Tonight we tried Durant's. Wow! Wow is literally the best word I can use to describe this place. The ambience was amazing. The way you even get into the restaurant had a speak easy feel to it. Lower lighting to create just a perfect atmosphere. From the bread with this amazing oil herb and mushroom mixture as an appetizer, to the amazing flavor of our perfectly cooked ribeyes (AMAZING RIBEYES) with garlic mashed potatoes and mushrooms on the side. Even our side salads were of note with perfectly crisp lettuce delicious dressings and real bacon bits in the mix. We even managed to pack in a desert. I got the strawberry shortcake and it was absolutely delicious as well. Give this place a try, you will not regret it! So weird for us to admit, but we have absolutely found a steak house that hands down crushes Ruth's Chris. Marcello was our amazing waiter and The manager I had to ask to speak to, to tell her how pleased we were with our meal, was Marcello Grion. If I could give 10 starts I absolutely would!!! Great job Durant's keep up the great service!!!

This place is a classic that never goes out of style. From the old bar to the red velvet wallpaper, it feels as if you stepped back in time. The service is outstanding. Everyone is very attentive, the management to the kitchen staff who greets you when you walk through the back door. The food is fabulous. They used to be open for lunch, but now they're only open for dinner. I tend to go for the filet, but all their steaks are good, as well as their sides. And don't forget the desserts! Plus, you can always pair it with a good martini or glass of red wine. Durant's has been a staple in Phoenix for years and i bet will continue to be here for years to come.

The food is atrocious choice. Steaks sold for $95 a piece. Be aware if you order a rare steak you'll be getting well done.

The atmosphere and staff here are still as outstanding as you remember! However the food is not. Compared to any modern high end restaurant in a similar price point,, the quality of the dishes just doesn't keep up. If you want excellent food with creative dishes and seasonal offerings, look elsewhere. For the kind of guy who wants to feel like Sinatra while downing (pricey!) cocktails in leather booths, this is the place

We went last night for our anniversary. It was our first time eating here. The place is cool indeed. Our service was very good the food not so much. I ordered an 18 oz ribeye and only about 8 ounces of it were eatable. The rest was fat and gristle. Three small scallops for 38.50. They should be ashamed. The scalloped potatoes and rice pilaf were so salty! The fillet was nothing to write home about either. After spending a ton of money there I feel like it was certainly not worth the money. One and done for us.

Not only great food, but also a great dining experience! If I could give six stars, I would! We were in town and came here for dinner. We called in and made reservations for a Saturday night about 2 weeks in advance. Everything about our experience was EXCELLENT! Our server - phenomenal! Everyone else we encountered was lovely, kind, and attentive! Before I jump into the food, the ambience here is something. You walk in through the kitchen, like directly through the kitchen. Then you enter the dining room- It's dimly light with red accents and makes you feel like you are in a mob movie from the 60's. The vibes here are everything! They have a full bar and a great (and very reasonably priced wine offering). So now... the food. I'm not going to bore you with my 10/10 for all the food, I will just share the highlights. The mashed potatoes are the best I've ever had - creamy, rich, and seasoned to perfection. I'm not a big prime rib fan, but the bite I tried melted in my mouth. The salmon and the chicken were excellent- not often the case at a steakhouse. Even the salads were delicious- well seasoned dressing and great ratio of ingredients. Looking forward to the next time I travel to AZ and will definitely be coming back here!

Incredible service and phenomenal food. The atmosphere creates an incredible vibe. Vince was accommodating, thoughtful and funny. He provided us with the perfect recommendations and celebrated my husbands birthday with a tasty dessert. We will be back!

Baked Potato over salted hardly edible; Garlic mashed over seasoned and not fresh; Spinach artichoke dip was from Costco but toast was rock hard stale This place sucked - so disappointing Quality of meal and thin steaks with huge bill can't justify another try
