1st time coming here and it was amazing. All of the staff were very helpful, amazing and you can tell they all love their jobs. Pet friendly, which was a plus. Plenty of space inside and outside, along with comfortable outside seating. All age groups from seniors down to toddlers. I really love this place and will be back very soon. Great beer, amazing food and overall definitely needed something new. Parking was difficult to fine BUT only because of how popular this place is.

Dust Bowl is a fun place! From the trendy, industrial atmosphere to the lively crowd, this establishment is definitely worth checking out with your friends. On the inside, there is a ton of table seating, a private room, and plenty of space at the bar. On the outside, there are a bunch of great outdoor seating areas, heaters to make the cold weather comfortable, and room for activities. The business is very well thought out, though at peak times it can get a bit loud for those who use hearing aids. The food and the service have been pretty good both times we have been there. My husband enjoyed his double cheeseburger, I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce on the Korean chicken sandwich. But, everything came out hot and quickly. There are plenty of beers to choose from— and I like how they offer pairing suggestions with most dishes on the menu. This is a spot to meet up with friends on the weekend! Bring your well behaved dog to enjoy the patio. Just don’t let your kids roam free! (Not that I ever would, I just really think their sign is great!) Have a beer sampler, try some appetizers, participate in some of their events— let’s keep this fun place around!

I had ordered the chicken wings, with barbecue sauce on the side, and also ordered a small Caesar salad. One thing I can say was that the chicken wings stayed hot which I like and I the chicken stayed crispy. I ordered a strawberry margarita which was pretty good. I enjoyed the vibe and energy. Our waiter was excellent. When I come back to Elk Grove I will definitely come back to this place.

Didnt have food but had several different beers. Nice amount of beers on tap. Service was a bit slow but I was drinking with friends so didn't mind too much.

Looking for a great place to have delicious beers & solid tasty foods? Look no further! This place has it all. The foods are all American (pizza, buffalo wings, loaded potato chip nachos) but they do it the best. Simple foods done right. The beers are all solid. Most ranging in the 4.0 to 4.5/5.0 range for me. They constantly rotate the beers as well, so every time you come there is something fresh to try. Great outdoor seating to bring your dogs and kids. A lot of space to run around and watch a sports game. Just beware they don’t pay for Amazon prime video for NFL football. (Thursday night football)

Google
Nice place to meet up with friends. Indoor and outdoor seating and bar areas. Good selection of beers: IPAs, stout, sour, seltzer, and others. We ordered the fried green beans and wings. Green beans lacked seasoning. Wings were well sauced and good. I had the Korean fried chicken sandwich. It was over-sauced, but well seasoned. Had several pickles on it, which I like. Staff greeted us at the door with smiles on their faces. Server was attentive and friendly.

Placed a phone order at lunchtime and was told it would be 10-15 mins. I arrived 5 minutes later. Announced my self at the bar and ordered a drink while I waited. 30 minutes passed and no food. Another 5 minutes passed and one of the bar backs asked how I was doing and I told her I was still waiting for my to go order. She went right to the kitchen and talk to.the kitchen staff. Then she went to warming cabinet of some kind, bagged the order and brought it to me and I paid. I was curious how the fries handled being in a container for who knows how long, aaaaand they were soggy and a couple were stale some how. Not sure about the physics there but it was the case. No ketchup/condiments, or napkins in the bag. Thankfully knowing I am a messy eater and I grabbed a few on my way out from the hostess station at the door. It was not that busy, it just seems like wander around aimlessly and not really any communication continuity. The staff was friendly, and the place had solid ambiance. The burger was good, but the wait, the soggy fries and no ketchup/napkins warrant a 2 star rating for food, but I bet it would have been a 4. While the staff was friendly, they weren't busy enough to delay my order that long and get a 1 star. Atmosphere was good and clean. Maybe all of their time was spent cleaning? Wouldn't be mad a that, so 4 stars for Atmosphere. I wish I wasn't working so I could have a flight with the Coffee Porter and the Confused Psychiatrist (double IPA), I'm sure they were delicious. I would go back, but I wouldn't order take out again, or recommend it. Really a sit down place, and the dine in crowd seemed happy.

Google
We celebrated my nephews 1st birthday there and had such a great time! It was the first time most of us had been there and it did not disappoint. We were able to bring a few decorations and a cake. The bartender outside (his name escapes me) was so nice! We got everything we needed in a timely fashion. The staff inside was just as friendly and accommodating. Same for the kitchen staff! In looking forward to coming back. Thank you!

Yelp
Visited this nice Tap House a couple days ago to celebrate a friend's birthday. Staff were super friendly and gave solid recommendations for the food. Though I didn't get any drinks the food was wonderful. We ordered the Okie Nachos, (didn't take a picture) and the funnel cake fries which were both generous portions. The outside seating is always a wonderful option when you're coming with a bigger group and you can even bring your dog which is pretty neat. I'd definitely come back with a group of friends if we ever wanted to have a good time and try a variety of drinks and have a good outing.

Yelp
Always great service and I love their margarita seltzer. The bbq chicken boneless wings are so good!! Great spot for large groups and even bringing the kids. Love all their food and they have a huge variety of beer on tap.

Yelp
I was really excited to visit Dust Bowl, and walking in, the atmosphere immediately delivered. The indoor space was lively with plenty of seating and sports playing on the TVs. The outdoor area was open and inviting with string lights that made it feel fun and relaxed. The beer list was fairly large, and we liked that we could try a flight to sample a few different options. The beers were solid overall, but oddly not very cold, which is odd since it came straight from the tap. Where things didn't quite meet expectations was the food. The grilled chicken sandwich had a juicy bite, but the texture was a bit rubbery and it was overly salty. The aioli was pretty minimal and didn't add any flavor. The brisket burger had good potential but also lacked in the sauce department. Also, the brisket was too fatty and not very tender. It felt like it needed to render longer and a bold BBQ sauce to tie the flavors together better. Considering the price, we were hoping for a bit more from the food. Bummed to have had this experience, was really hoping for more ):

Yelp
Pretty good little spot ! Had a yummy mango beer and split a bacon cheeseburger which had good flavor . Garlic fries were delicious smelling and also pretty solid . The atmosphere is fun and modern and very family friendly with tons of parking !

Yelp
Dust Bowl Old Town Tap House is such a cool establishment! They have a huge dining area, a large double-sided bar where you can try samples of their beer, a private room, and a great outdoor area where you can bring kiddos and/or doggies. Their outdoor area is wildly popular on weekend nights so it gets crowded and loud especially around their fire pits. The folks here are friendly and we've received great service on every visit. About a year or so ago, they started offering limited food items - which was a significant improvement from when there was a separate kitchen (where you had to go to the window to order and pick up from). The previous kitchen did not turn out good food (mainly tacos, if I remember correctly). The current kitchen makes some really tasty flatbread pizzas. As for their beer, a majority are IPA beers but they make lagers, ales, stouts, and ciders. There is always a good beer to be had; Supertramp is one we look forward to seeing on the menu!

Yelp
I love to walk around the Cosumnes River Preserve and birdwatch. It's also an excuse to go back to Dust Bowl. Today I had the Reuben special. O. M. G. It's fabulous! The corned beef is cooked perfectly. Juicy. Sauerkraut. Perfect amount of dressing. Cheese. And great marble rye bread. This may be the best Reuben that I've had since we moved to the area. My husband went back to his favorite, the Impossible Burger. He craves it, and reminds everyone to add cheddar cheese for even more deliciousness. As always, the service is great. Everyone is always welcoming and engaging. The place itself is comfortable, and a great place to watch a game (March Madness, anyone?). It's fun to try what's new on tap. We find new favorites. Speaking of which, the Cobb salad is one of my go-tos. The Meat Flatbread is yummy and shareable. It's always birdwatching season

Yelp
First time here and will be repeat customer! I had no idea what to expect and went in with no real expectations. Absolutely loved the ambiance ~ hats off to the designers. Very cool laid back vibe. Was there for a private party in the "private party room." The room was private enough with open windows and great decor! Ate the ~ Okie nachos 5/5 Coconut shrimp ~ average Brussel Sprouts ~ 5/5 Chicken wings ~ 5/5 Outside area great vibe! dogs welcome! Service was attentive and super friendly! Enjoyed the STRAWBERRY MARGARITA SELTZER w/ ABV of 11! Sooooo good! Recommend and DEFINITELY will make a trip back in nicer weather to hang out outside.

Yelp
Recently visited for our holiday party. Good service and food. We tried a few of their items and all tasted good, with enough to share. Our server was very patient with us, which we appreciated. We were able to rent out the party open space--not bad for a price. To rent out the space during a weekday was $250 for 5 hours on a weekday. Lighting was good for photos, and plenty of room to mingle. We enjoyed our visit. Thanks Dust bowl for accommodating our party.

Yelp
We ordered food to go. We've eaten at Dust Bowl before in another city and it was amazing. My husband wanted a burger and this one is in our backyard, so why not. His burger and fries were good, I should have stuck with that. I ordered buffalo wings and a Cobb salad. The salad was ok and the wings were a no go. I'm not sure what happened to them but they were nothing like the other location. If we were eating there, I would have sent them back. Service was great and they were very nice. That evening management reached out to us to make our experience better. Their commitment to customer service is really great! We will try again.

Yelp
I had not been to this establishment in over a year! I am so happy they adopted a menu similar to the original Turlock location. At first when they had their grand opening the food came from a separate group. We ordered the Korean chicken and the chicken pesto flatbread. We forgot to take a picture of the sandwich :( The beer selection was impressive as always. We noticed lots of families outside in the patio area using outdoor heaters. Pro tip: they have a separate closed off in door seating area for small parties. I meant to ask if you can reserve and decorate. Super cute spot for birthdays and office gatherings.

Yelp
Service was great, the restaurant is clean and inviting. The food was good, especially the chili. I ordered clam chowder and it came out cold to the touch. Our waitress was great. She took the soup back and quickly brought out a piping hot bowl and fresh bread to replace what was sent back. They don't have a lot of non-alcoholic drink options. They don't have any N/A beer (not a huge deal) but no iced tea either. Only water, Pepsi or Sprite. I'm looking forward to visiting again to try some of their other menu items. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Yelp
Great place to spend the evening at if you just want to socialize or relax with a few friends or family members. They have an outdoor area where you can order drinks and food at the bar with plenty of seating. It's in a safe neighborhood within Old Elk Grove, and kid friendly! Service is great, everything is self-serve outdoors but servers quickly came to clear off empty cups and trays from previous customers when they saw us pick a table. They were very welcoming. Appetizers and drinks were really good, I ordered 2 beer samplers, one was all sweet drinks and the second was a mixture of strongest and strange-named ones. I'll be sticking with the sweet flavors since I'm not fully a beer person, but it was fun and interesting to try! Parking is so convenient. There's plenty of space and there's always a steady flow of people arriving and leaving so no need to hunt for parking spots. It may get a bit tricky getting onto the main street if it's during a busy hour but still not too bad.

Yelp
We like it here. Service is great. The Food/ Selection is Fantastic and the is Wonderful. This is our second visit and All is Well. And we are full!

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious and came out super fast! Our waiter was great! Everything was exactly as we ordered, which I really appreciated. The tables were clean and spacious, making it a comfortable place to eat. They also have a great menu with lots of good options. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

Yelp
Dust Bowl Brewing Company is a nice addition to Old Elk Grove. It is in an old historic brick building. They have inside and outdoor seating. They offer lots of beer selections! The Hot Honey Pizza and pretzels are delicious. There's a fire pit with chairs to keep you warm on a chilly day. Fans to keep you cooler on hot days. A great place to have fun with friends. Ample parking. Food service ends about thirty minutes before closing. Closed on Tuesdays.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere! Tons of plants and very open. Food wasn't really my thing, and I don't drink beer, so I'm not the best reviewer here. Service was good. Someone had a salad that looked quite nice.

Yelp
First time here. We had lunch and it was good. The restaurant was clean and had great outdoor space. It was a bit too chilly to be outside but great space anyway. The service was great and waiter was very attentive. Great experience!

Yelp
I came here for the first time today. It was a super hot day to sit outside but since we brought our little furry friends with us we couldn't sit inside. The drinks were good but I didn't really like their nachos. If it wasn't so hot outside, we would have probably stayed a little bit longer. I like that this place is pet friendly so that's a plus, but I wish they had a section inside that allowed dogs. Our furry friends did not do so well out in the heat. The service was great. The bartenders outside were really nice. Will I come back to this brewery? I would say sure, why not, of course! This is a great place to hang out with family and friends. We enjoyed our visit here despite the hot summer 98 degrees weather.
google avatar

Nichole O.

Yelp
Always a fun time whenever I'm here. Food is consistent and you can't go wrong with anything from their menu. Service is good and staff is nice. Their brewery has plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating although you are limited to a couple of fire pits outside especially if it was a chilly night! So definitely bring a jacket!
google avatar

Hazel P.

Yelp
came on a busy friday night, lots of indoor seating (i think most people opt to sit outdoors) but overall a great vibe. I'm not a fan of beer but I got this strawberry margarita seltzer which was pretty good! I got it with salt, and I think it might've been better with tajin. however, the pizza/flatbread was not spicy at all there was more of pineapple than anything else--their jalapeño was also not spicy. Texture of the pizza wasn't too bad though just too much pineapple. Would come back!
google avatar

Yelp
We stumbled by Dust Bowl on accident and I'm so glad we did. My husband is a big fan of their beer. His go to meal is the Oakie Nachos. These are in house made potato chips with chicken, cheese, green onions, sour cream, and a bbq drizzle. These are delicious! Every time we come here our eyes are bigger than our stomachs! The pizzas are yummy. Service here is hit or miss and depends on how busy they are. If you are sitting outside, you serve yourself. The outside patio is a good place to bring your pups. The inside is much improved since they added more tables with chairs and removed the lounge chairs. Overall, this place is worth a try if you like beer and decent food.

Yelp
Dear Dust Bowl Owners BRETT & KAREN TATE - CAMY & BRETT HONORÉ, I paid $126 to get the cops called on my family by manager Clair fabricating false statements and events to the Elk Grove Police Department. ‼DUSTBOWL MANAGER, Clair manager falsely accused, verbally assaulted/harassed medical professional family then banned us in retaliation. ‼ My family (my boyfriend, cousin, cousin's wife, their young daughters) were having dinner at DUSTBOWL. We ordered dinner with our server. Everything was like any normal family dinner night, Out of nowhere, the manager Clair ( tall, skinny Caucasian female with arms tattoos, pink highlights and black glasses) came to our tables with a bunch of take out containers saying , " you all need to get out of here. I saw on cameras you giving your daughter beer. Her lips were pressed on the beer glass and drank alcohol. I already called the cops and they are coming. You need to pack up and pay your bill and get out now". Knowing this never happened, we asked for footage and she said we aren't allowed to see it. After, my cousins wife who was falsely accused, verbally assault/harassed was inconsolably sobbing about Clair ruining the family event and basically calling her a shi mother conducting non-existing child abuse and neglect. I felt beyond sadden and hurt my cousins wife was attacked out of nowhere and publicly shamed/embarrassed by Clair. Then the kids started crying saying, " I didn't do anything! I never drank anything! Mommy I never drank that". We were just completely shocked out of nowhere we were verbally being harassed and falsely accused. I told her," that would never happen as we are all healthcare professionals. This is a mistake". Clair told us, " the cops are coming and pay your tab and GET OUT". I went to the register and personally talked to Clair saying, " this is a misunderstanding as this never occurred". Clair nastily stated, " the cops are coming". I told Clair, " that's fine, however show me your video proof". Clair stated," this is private footage and only cops can see it". I told clair, " that's fine, but you're falsely accusing us of giving a child alcohol with evidence and you don't want to show us? "She said, " the cops are coming". At this time, we waited at our table for the cops because we know this event NEVER, EVER HAPPENED. At 6:45pm, the two Elk Grove police officers showed up. We explained the cops the situation. The daughter saw the cops and began crying and pleading" I never drank anything!" We had to keep calming our 6 year old niece because she was panicking, crying, and scared about everything. The two officers saw the footage and said, " yeah the kid never took a sip of alcohol". Clair was beyond wrong, she's being petty cause her ego got hurt the officers concluded no crime was committed. As retaliation, CLAIR BANNED US FROM DUSTBOWL. The officers stated Clair wanted our ID to ban us from forever coming to dust bowl brewery. As well, if we don't leave we will be arrested for trespassing. Our family dinner was RUINED BY CLAIR AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE DINNER THAT WAS CUT SHORT AND RUINED FROM CLAIR FALASE ACCUSATION AND LIES. As medical profession, I am DEEPLY sadden and distraught our community which we serve and care for can treat my family like this. Working in-hospital medical care and actually seeing child abuse/neglect, what Clair did to my family fabricating false statements and events is UNBELIEVABLE. Just unbelievable sinful shameful act of deceitfulness behavior by Clair manager Clair had multiple opportunities to discuss in a professional manner however instead she insulted, shamed and conducted lies about our family in front of the public and law enforcement. Clair had full access to camera footage and still continue to lie to law enforcements til they said she's wrong. Owners please respond as I will be following up on every platform. Food wise: Overpriced and average. $26 for a meat lovers pizza with no love, nothing out of extraordinary in terms of food.

Yelp
Great for big groups. Love that you can make your own sampler of beers and the brewery is kids friendly. Food is solid too! Nachos are a must and the sandwiches are good.

Yelp
Food is delicious beer is on point! Personal service was top notch. I love the Ambiance, atmosphere and sports tv
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed the PB&J burger. It was great yet different. We won second place in trivia but wish we could've got a pint each as we couldn't split the growler of beer. The service was amazing.

Yelp
In Elk Grove, the Old Town Tap House combines Dust Bowl's signature beers with a full food menu. The taproom provides a welcoming environment for both locals and visitors. Great outdoor and indoor options. Dog friendly and kid friendly as well. Lots of parking and good food options
google avatar

Rochelle R.

Yelp
We had a blast at the Elk Grove Dust Bowl. It was a quick unexpected stop which made it even better. My friend had a full order of something I can't remember but knowing him it was a brown ale. I had a round of tastings. And me and my tastes turned to items more of the IPA style. The one I really wanted was out but that's ok. We had a great day chilling put in the sun and sipping our beer and chatting it up we had lunch at a Thai restaurant earlier so we didn't order any food but we will next time because I'm sure we will go back. He liked it too.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon, sat in a nice shady seating area to hide from the sun. Ordered the Taco Truck (Mexican Lager) and it was really refreshing. Also ordered the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, and that was really good. If you're not a huge eater, the flatbread is shareable! Only thing this place is missing is some type of game or entertainment, otherwise beer and food were great!
google avatar

Jeremy D.

Yelp
I'm not into bar scenes but Dust Bowl Brewing Co. At Old Town Tap House has reinvented it. Yes, they have the bar area with TVs but they have lounge chairs, private party space, and outdoor picnic areas with an open fire pit. Dust Bowl has many beers on Tap, I counted 28 the last time we were there! The industrial design with brick looks cool. Parking is plentiful. Best of all, getting a hold of your waitress is easier vs. many other bars. The food is great too, it's abundant and prices are reasonable for the amount you receive. Our favorite is the Okie Nachos with fried potato chips layered in cheese, grilled chicken, BBQ sauce, and Ranch with sour cream on the side. As for the beers, there's so many good ones, try them all if you can, they have taster sizes.
google avatar

K. C.

Yelp
Great Beer, great food, great atmosphere/facilities. Service was good, but ordering process could be improved. If you are sitting outside, you have to go to the bar inside and stand in line at a service bar area, which isn't obvious or marked. The ordering process for either food or drinks at the service bar area, places you in competition with customers sitting at the bar or those that walk up to the bar unaware of the service bar line or trying to avoid the line. Specifically in regard to their beer, I think they are creative and extremely knowledgeable, which is reflected in their large and varied offerings.
google avatar

Andy G.

Yelp
Great food, excellent beer, and a really nice locations for solo/paired/family visits- LOTS of good dogs- BUT: the layout for the food/drink ordering need major rethinking, as it currently bottlenecks to one POS, even with a second bartender taking orders, and the flow in the room backs up at the corner of the bar because of this, making the line look and feel long, makes a single beer drinker line up with food and drink groups regardless. Not good for staff and worse on customers. Easy fix: invest in a second POS on the OTHER side of the bar and facing the other side. Maybe make one drinks only, OR implement QR ordering by table with SMS notification for orders.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
We had just got through adopting a pup and were looking for a dog-friendly restaurant and this place did not disappoint. Nice/large/heated patio area that is partially covered which was nice because it was a rainy day. The food was great and so was the service. Only downside was having to order at the bar and fetch the food yourself (no table service). Other than that a winner in my book!!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place. Inside. Outside. Great options for seating and ambiance. Large group and small group seating...even bar side. We had the pretzels and flatbreads. My wife had a Gluten Free flatbread and enjoyed it very much. I had a standard one. Great flavor. Chewy, but just right. Perfect amount of of toppings...and great flavor. The pretzel sticks were perfect. Hot. Soft. Buttery. Salty. The cheese dip was great. Overall and great choice for dinner.
google avatar

Tammy P.

Yelp
We were in the area so decided to check out the place. There is a large parking area and it looked like a large place when we were walking in. When we walked in the front door there was a huge indoor area with lots of places to sit and relax as well as a large bar area. We were greeted and told them we wanted to sit at the bar. It is easier to see the list of beers. The bartender greeted us and hand us the menu for beer and food. We were speaking with one of the owners to learn a little about the beer and the tap room. She was very nice. We chose a sampler as well as decided on pretzels and Coconut shrimp. You get a choice of five beers in your flight. I love the holder for the beer. Very unique. There is also a large outdoor area a a large room for parties. A good selection of beer to go is also offered. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Yelp
So...how often do you come across an establishment that has really good brew and really good eats??? I have been to places where the beer was super yum, but the food was just okay, or vice versa. I have not went someplace where there is a huge variety of super good beer and the food is just awesome opossum....until now! I have not frequented brew houses, but the few times I have, there was either no food, or highly limited food, like appetizers. I mean, who doesn't like some good wings??...but why not the main staples that you often have with a really good ice cold brew? Like my fave, pizza?Well this place has pizza, and not just one kind, there are a few. The food itself is really good. I will definitely return!!
google avatar

Jasmin M.

Yelp
3.5 stars Thank GOODNESS they redid their food menu, cause I was pretty adamant about never returning solely because of the lack of food choices. Now there is a large(r) menu, they don't run out of items, and their offerings pair well with their beers. Parking is pretty easy Good place for groups Awesome spot to watch a game on the many tvs Misters and shade outside for those hot days The place DOES get overran by families on the weekends, which is to be expected in Elk Grove.. "ce la vie" just order another round and drown the noise out?! My one wish would be a reservation system or call ahead waitlist

Yelp
The vibe and outside area was really nice. Food was just ok. Really don't understand why there are different menus for indoor seating and patio seating. We sat outside and was told that we were unable to order from the indoor menu which makes no sense since it's coming from the same kitchen. We ended up still ordering from inside but asked for it to-go so we can take it back to the patio and eat it there. We ordered the nachos which was alright. Nothing too exciting except it was place in a pizza box which made it seem like the order was huge. Haha. We can really recall what we all ordered

Yelp
I brought my friend in for dinner (& a beer) who was in town from AZ for the night! I've been here before a couple of times but today's service was amazing. From the moment I walked in the door, Joanne was the most welcoming hostess. I'm in the industry myself and think that she would be an amazing server. Before our server Shelby helped us she had answered many questions about the food selection. Then our server Shelby was awesome too! Quick service, friendly smiles and the best customer service around. The beer & food was great. But I'll be back because of Joanne for sure!

Yelp
Came here for the first time today and am so glad we did. The atmosphere is really laid back with a great outdoor space that is dog and kid friendly. The food was really good for being a brew house. We had the spicy bbq brisket flatbread and garlic fries and they were great!

Yelp
Really like the ambiance of this brewery. Really chill to just hangout with friends and even play games on their outdoor patio. The staff is really nice and you can do tasters of any of their beers. Not actually a beer drinker so there are a few other options. Since I dont drink beer, I actually come for the food. Everything I've tried, I have not been disappointed. Coconut shrimp, good. Nachos, good. Flatbread, good. Especially the carrot cake, delicious. This is one of the restaurants in EG, I will continue to visit.

Yelp
We visited Dust Bowl for the first time to meet up with some friends who were visiting family in Elk Grove from out of town. We've had their beers elsewhere but were excited to visit in person. The restaurant has a pretty big blueprint, there's plenty of parking outside and a big fence that goes around their outdoor area. You end up walking along a good portion of the business to enter the front doors from the parking lot. Inside they checked our IDs and stamped our hands. We noticed quickly that this seems to be inconsistent as none of our friends had stamps and wondered why we got them (We're all in our 30's- but maybe I have a baby face?). You order at the bar and then get your drinks there or if you order food they text you when it's ready. It wasn't super busy while we were there and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. They're also dog friendly, we saw a bunch of dogs while were there and our friends also brought their dog. They also have beers that you can order to go in cans and a cool looking private room that would be great for get togethers. I'm glad we came on a quieter night, I can imagine this place can get busy and crowded.

Yelp
DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AND NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY PLACE My family (wife, husband, 2 kids and our cousin and girlfriend) were having dinner at Dustbowl Brewery in Elk Grove today, Sept 1st, from around 6:30-7:30pm. The night started out fine, we had ordered our food and we were sitting and chatting. But then some time later we were shocked when the manager Clair suddenly came to our table with to-go boxes telling us we needed to leave because "I saw on cameras you were giving your daughter beer. Her lips were pressed on the beer glass and drank alcohol. You need to pack up and pay your bill and get out now".  We were shocked that she accused us of being bad parents, doing the unthinkable of feeding alcohol to our kids. I asked Clair to show us the surveillance camera footage. She ignored our request and said if we don't pay and leave, she would call the cops. I encouraged her to call the police and show them the footage, and we said we won't leave until the police come, as we didn't do anything wrong. Clair called Elk Grove Police.  My wife, who was falsely accused, verbally assaulted/harassed was crying and deeply hurt about Clair implying she was a bad mother. If any of you (especially parents) reading this can understand, we as parents work so hard to raise our kids the right way, and to have a person accuse you of bad parenting is very hurtful and disrespectful.  Then my kids started crying saying, "I didn't do anything! I never drank anything!". The audacity that Clair has to even consider calling the police in front of our children, causing them emotional trauma as they were scared they would be taken away by the police. We kept reassuring our children that we didn't do anything wrong and if you're innocent, you have to stand up and prove to anyone that you're right.  At about 6:45pm, the two Elk Grove police officers showed up. We explained the situation to the officers.  The officers reviewed the surveillance footage and stated:  "yeah we didn't see the kid sip from the beer cup". Afterwards, they told us Clair is banning us from Dustbowl and if we didn't leave we will be charged with trespassing. The officers were professional but did acknowledge it felt petty to them. We were humiliated having to talk with the police and later having to be walked out with the police since they had to ensure we left with them.  After all of this, Clair, the manager, continued to stand her ground. I would be less mad about the situation if she came back to apologize, but she didn't. I also would be less mad if she gave us any benefit of the doubt, to have her attempt to re-review the footage, but she was swift with her accusation and never let us get our word in before escalating to the police.  Her handling of this strong accusation that we let our child drink alcohol and banning us without any reason is a very dangerous way to run a business. Elk Grove police made us aware that technically, they are a private business and can refuse service to anyone. But that's a very risky move considering it was proven that we didn't violate any laws. My wife and I were calm and never used profanity toward her and we didn't make a scene. So why are they now refusing service and banning us?  I have rarely considered Asian discrimination as a factor in my upbringing, fortunate to have grown up in Elk Grove, which is a very diverse community, but I don't understand why she seemingly targeted us with this aggressive accusation? We were friendly to our server and our kids were well behaved. The only reason I can think of is that doesn't like us as a person. It appears that looking around we were the only Asian family dining at that time.  Since we didn't get the closure we wanted, no apology or recognition of their wrongdoing, I am moving this up the chain to the owners and pursuing legal action. I hope this is just an isolated, rogue employee situation but I don't know if is part of a bigger cultural issue within their management.

Yelp
If i could add more stars I would (waiting on their rewards program) I simply love dust bowl. This specific location is super mellow. It does get busy but the service and consistency stays the same which is important. My favorite beer is the gold 1. The fried green beans are super yummy and great for a snack pair with their beer. I usually order a bacon cheeseburger but I order mine with just one patty. It is a good quality burger with bacon, cheese and lettuce, tomato & red onion. The beer is always served nice and cold. The staff is very friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Today was my second time here. Wasn't surprised it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. We sat outside with our dogs and there were a lot of kids running around unsupervised. Seems like parents just hang out and let their kids run around. From the time we ordered our food till the time we got our food, it was 45 minutes! A flatbread pizza and a B.L.T. with garlic fries. It would have been fine if the food was hot and fresh but my sandwich was cold and bread so hard it cut the roof of my mouth. I was so hungry by then I just ate as much of it as I could. Might need to stay away from here on weekends, definitely not a pleasant experience.

Yelp
After a solid wine tasting experience at Christopher Cellars (feel free to reference my review), my wife suggested that we check out Dust Bowl Brewery. Based on a previous experience with her siblings, she raved about their selection of brews and the cozy ambiance. Upon entry we were greeted by lots of exposed brick (which I absolutely love), cozy seating, and a nice wrap around bar. Initially we planned on sitting inside; however, I made the mistake of taking a peek outside and seeing the multiple fire pit's surrounded by chairs (think cozy campfire). An added bonus was that the outside area was completely vacant...we couldn't ask for a more romantic ambiance for the last evening of 2023. Outside we enjoyed our brews as the warm fire sheltered us from the cold December weather (maybe I should write a novel). As far as the customer service, it was bare minimum. I asked an employee for a menu and he handed me one, I ordered a drink and he placed it, when I needed to close out the tab I went to the bar and the bartender handed me the bill. Unfortunately, the entire time that my wife and I were in the outside portion of the brewery, not once did an employee acknowledge our presence and inquire if we wanted to order more brews. Outside of the customer service experience (or lack thereof), we loved the comfortable setting and the variety of brews available on tap. Not quite sure if I'll be returning anytime soon.

Yelp
Food and beer is good as always but they need a lot more umbrellas or shade sails outside. Love this place and the atmosphere but shade is desperately needed. Also, we love kids but when they start throwing stones at people and over the fence at cars and the sidewalks someone needs to control that.
