We stopped here to spend some time before a late reservation elsewhere, and it ended up being such a great find. The cocktails were fun and delicious, and the small plate we ordered was phenomenal. Jemma and Drew were wonderful to interact with—helpful, pleasant, and friendly. In fact, all the staff were great, and the vibe here is vibrant and chill. I will absolutely be making a reservation for this place to be the main event in the future. This spot is a gem—don’t miss out if you have the chance to visit!

Went to Dutch Courage for cocktails and came out feeling like I could wrestle a bear... or at least confidently ask for extra napkins without overthinking it. The place has a beautiful vibe—classy, cozy, and just the right amount of moody lighting to make you feel mysterious (even if you're just sipping a gin cocktail named after a pirate). The staff? Super pleasant. The kind of crew that makes you feel welcome without being all up in your business. The drinks? Let’s just say my cocktail had me believing I could dance... good thing my friends disagreed. Also, Dutch Courage literally means “confidence gained from alcohol”—and I felt that in my soul. I walked in shy, walked out thinking I could give a TED Talk. 10/10 would recommend. Bring friends. Leave with confidence and maybe a slightly louder personality.

Phenomenal stop over the holidays! The drink and food menu is so well thought out and delicious, the vibe is immaculate, service was excellent. They decorated in a traditional and lovely way. I'd definitely recommend the holiday cocktails, served in adorable glasses with very cute accents.

This my wife and I first time. We went on a Saturday evening, We arrived at 6:20pm The host was rude he asked us before we was even seated would we be done by 7:45pm? My wife and I were shocked but said yes I guess. Wow! The waiter was not attentive at all. The food was horrible. We order crab dip and they brought out crab soup that’s how watery it was! Another waiter had to come and get it off our table and when our waiter came back he didn’t even ask what happened or did we want anything else. We will never go back there again. The other waiter gave us some complimentary drinks he felt bad for us.

One of the most reliable spots in Baltimore city, any time of the year. The interior is cozy nicely designed, the patio is such a nice place to grab a drink in the summer. I still haven’t had a bad drink here, and the servers are always helpful and willing to give you a rec. I’ve had several dishes here, the tinned fish is delicious paired with some of their small dishes and dips. The sandwiches, however, are the real stars of the show. I’m not sure what they put on that bread but it’s just amazing. Don’t hesitate to try this place out!

Five stars very well deserved! Visiting here and DC and this was easily the highlight between two cities. Immaculate, warm service and cold AC, with good food and great drinks.

Went on a weekend night. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have a nice list of cocktails and mocktails. Shareable plates were nicely seasoned and with many pair worthy options it's easy to enjoy a few of them together. Stairs to entrance. Street parking.

Super cool spot! They are primarily gin based cocktails which I think is very interesting and niche. They have gin flights and the best Ramos gin fizz I’ve ever had. Food options aren’t vast but very delicious and well paired. Our waiter, Ted, was very knowledgeable and gave us great pointers. Overall, I can’t wait to visit again!

Yelp
Dutch Courage is a gin bar that has an inviting atmosphere with expert bartenders that provide amazing service to find the perfect drink for you. They have an eclectic collection of glassware to pair well with their vast collection of gin and genever. The food selection is fantastic from their seasoned corn nuts for a snack or their stuffed acorn squash for a meal. Their menu updates every season so there's always something new to try. Come by for their happy hour mon-fri to get a discounted cocktail of the day that is different every day. I would say this is the best bar in all of Baltimore.

Yelp
We came here for a prefix menu, and it was... exactly fine. And we got the drink pairing. And it was... fine. We've come here for drink before and comparing the two experiences I was so let down by the pairings. I would come here on just a regular night when they're not hosting an event, let the bartenders work their magic and make something for you based on you. It seems like quality goes down when they're forced to do the same thing over and over again. Dutch courage is so cute and cozy, gin is my absolute favorite. It's worth the visit. Just come on a non event night!

Yelp
Pros- The drinks were very good ((The Elenor & Black Magic)) Amazing Vibes! The Patatas Bravas was stunning and had me hooked! Service is fast, accurate, and friendly. Cons- The barstools are terrible and hurt your back. The Winter Squash Salad was horrible and hard.

Yelp
*GINgle Bells holiday review* Drinks: Delicious and innovative! 10/10. Showstoppers were the Gin-Gerbread Beet Down & Where's The Tylenol. Food: Good. Highlight was the Motzi Bread & Smoked Salmon toast. Midnight moon cheese board was delicious. Pickled asparagus and mussels were just ok. Ambiance: Cute spot, but didn't deliver on the "holiday experience" promise Service: Friendly, fast, and attentive; explained cocktail flavor profiles and made suggestions based on our preferences.

Yelp
Went for their holiday pop-up event which had a holiday-themed cocktail menu and, what I thought to be, "halls decked" for Christmas. The cocktail menu delivered but the decor was lack-luster, to say the least. Garland and a nutcracker, with a few snowflakes in the lobby ...but far from an "event" as it was described. I digress. Holiday cocktails were **awesome**. Great themes, great names, great, varied tastes and flavors. Sweet, herbal, spicy,...not a stone unturned. Well done, there is definitely a drink for everyone! Tapas was okay-good. Pickled asparagus, goat cheese were good, their mussels were adequate (not bad quality mussels but totally lacked flavor). The show-stopper was the smoked salmon (the soft bread was a welcomed surprise). Bartenders were helpful, informative and super attentive (without being in your face about anything). Vibe was great. It's half of the main floor of an old townhouse which makes it feel like you're just stopping by a friend's house for a drink (with an impressively stocked bar). The mismatched chairs add to the charm, in the best way possible. It was cute to see friends, couples and big groups all there, enjoying their evening!

Yelp
The only gin bar in the state and you absolutely have to visit! It's an excellent date idea because you can create your own gin tasting experience with the help of the staff (i.e.,recommendations and history/cool facts). It has a cozy, relaxed feel plus there's an outside patio in the back - it's heated in the winter so it's in use all year. I'm a big fan of the little details like the cool hand-bound leather menus, not to mention their carefully curated options for food and drinks. We stopped by after dinner so I didn't get to try any of the food but we had a few different cocktails and tasted some extremely rare gins that were all delicious. 1000000/10 experience! Can't wait to return and try the Rachel.

Yelp
The location is in a fantastic row home that is decorated with beautiful art and random pleasantries. The cocktail menu is creative and elegant with fun names. I recommend this for a pre or post meal cocktail and treat. The servers are blooming with great energy and the service is knowledgeable.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in Baltimore! It doesn't have the dark and mysterious speakeasy aesthetic of some other really great cocktail bars in Baltimore like WC Harlan or Coral Wig. It's actually quite light and bright with an amazing patio. It has excellent charm and immaculate vibes with great service cute and quaint little nooks where you can have drinks with your friends, drinks with a partner, or a drink by yourself at the bar. The cocktails are creative, well thought out, and well balanced. It has the biggest selection of gin (including rare, local and regional) that you'll find anywhere in the city and probably the state. Whether you grab a flight to share, a cocktail, or just pours of a gin that sounds interesting to you, you will likely not be disappointed. There is something for everyone!

Yelp
Finally at the "courage" to give this gin bar a try. After a successful hbcu night at the orioles. I decided to continue the night with my wife at Dutch courage which is a gin based bar. The bar is located next to an apartment complex so if you're not paying attention you may miss It. You are welcomed by a heavy door to a comfy bar area with a solid bar space and open seating. I spent a couple of minutes looking at my menu since I don't like gin so I definitely had a lot of questions for my bartender but I appreciate his patience. I ended up ordering the delmonico which reminds me of a manhattan. It is blended well with gin and cognac aromatics and bitters. This is a grown man drink. It will put hair on your chest. lol please don't play around with this drink. This the adults table at thanksgiving drink. As you can see I'm enjoying It.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Dutch Courage. Their cocktails are very unique and flavorful. They are known for their gin selection. Fortunately, our bartender was able to split our cocktails into two that way my friend and I can try most of the cocktails on their menu. I would definitely come back here. My favorite cocktail was the Black Magic. The burnt rosemary garnish not only gave an earth full and smoky aroma, but the cocktail itself with the blackberry and lemon was so fruity with hints of herbs and licorice. I would also recommend The Eleanor, which was very rosy, light, and refreshing. The service was excellent and the ambience is very chill. Dutch Courage would be a perfect girls night out place for drinks.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I visited the establishment Friday night. This is a Victorian home remodel to complement a restaurant. We were seated at 8:00pm, the server told us we had a 2hr seating window. Never heard of this before. The drinks inspired by whiskey area were very good. Taste, mixture and appearance. We ordered 3 different charcuterie boards we were given 2 that were filet smoked and octopus in tin cans that I could have easily brought from Wholefoods along with a few accoutrements. I was very respectfully but complained to the sever to the chef. It came across very lazy and to fool the guest. All three charcuterie boards totaled approximately $50 which was a lack of the chef's culinary experience. We felt cheated of the full experience and financially! I won't be returning !

Yelp
Stopped by Dutch Courage at the end of December as a little pre-holiday celebration. The inside and outside is gorgeously decorated for the holidays. They really go all out every year especially in the outdoor patio area. We didn't have reservations but were able to be seated outside right away (they did give us a time limit though since a reservation was coming in a few hours). The outdoor area was surprisingly well heated and I was happy to see they added some cushions to the metal chairs, which can otherwise be quite cold and hard. The seasonal "Gin-gle Bells" menu is a bit confusing at first glance since there are just SO many options, all of which are very unique combinations of flavors or ingredients that I'd never heard of before. Luckily, our server pointed us in the right direction of some hot toddy style drinks and a few of his personal favorites. The service here is always really friendly and helpful in my experience! In addition to cocktails, we also got some small bites to eat: the brussel sprouts, the fingerling potatoes, and a cheese board. The serving sizes for all the dishes were really small. We weren't impressed with brussel sprouts either - the flavors were a bit lackluster. The potatoes were pretty good though and the cheese board was as expected. It just seems like for the price, the food should have blew us away a bit more. Nonetheless, I'd still return to Dutch Courage but will probably just stick to drinks next time.

Yelp
Quick visit to Baltimore, and my daughter suggested that we have cocktails here. She and her partner really like this spot, and they know I'm a gin guy, so this was top of the list. The decor is funky yet comfortable with small tables inside and outside and a gigantic marble bar. I spotted a cute nook that would seat 7 or so folksas we headed to our outside table. The staff made a small error with our reservation but quickly found us a spot. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We had a couple rounds of interesting cocktails and some small shareable snacks. All winners! I'll be back!

Yelp
Review number 777 There's literally nothing to not like about the place. I stopped in for a first date in a Wednesday evening. I was greeted immediately upon entering the spot and guided to my seat. I absolutely loved the garden/patio area. Perfect place for cocktails outside when the weather permits. I don't remember the name of my cocktail but it was an old fashioned with gin. Perfect! I had 2. For snacks we went with a Kale Caesar salad (big enough for 2), salmon bruschetta, pickled "things". It was cantaloupe on my visit. I've never had pickled cantaloupe but I'll gladly have it again. Dutch Courage was on my list for a while. Add it to yours!! It's now gonna be one of my regular cocktail bars.

Yelp
We spent some time hiding from the rain and stayed for a while. It was a great choice! It is located in an old townhome where they kept the historical accents and decor simple. It was a great atmosphere and the service was exceptional as well. The host was able to fit us in which we greatly appreciated! We tried: A Japanese Breakfast, O.D.P, Not Rocket Science, Stick Season, Deep Red, Coastal Cowgirl, Ramos Gin Fizz, Perfect Dark, Jefferson Sour. Of these, it was hard to pick a favorite since they were each complex and wildly different from each other. We didn't get food since we had just eaten dinner, but the food menu was more extensive than I thought a gin bar would have. Street parking is available.

Yelp
I had been meaning to check out Dutch Courage for some time, so a ladies night reunion of longtime friends was the perfect excuse to finally visit! Tucked away on N Charles St, this spot makes you feel like you're walking into someone's upscale but not over-pretentious downtown Baltimore row-home living room. Take a deep breath because you're about to be whisked into an evening that is sure to help ease away the day's stress. Service is welcoming, thoughtful and attentive, more than willing to provide guidance on the cocktail menu, which is (in the best of ways) extensive. I tried Happy Not Knowing, looking for a smokier cocktail, which was an exceptionally well balanced with an evolving umami, smokiness. Black Magic had a delicious more savory than sweet blackberry forward profile with pops of brighter, lemon acidity. Food-wise, the caponata melt was delicious, offering a unique take on the classic dish with the addition of the sherry agrodolce. I could have done with slightly more toasting of the ciabatta, but a minor point. The salt and vinegar chips were addicting and offered a nice complement of tangy, saltiness and some extra crunch. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Dutch Courage for a while and I am so glad that I went! Came here on a Friday with a couple of friends to celebrate some of our accomplishments and Dutch Courage did not disappoint. On this night, I very unfortunately forgot my ID at home and was not able to have an actual cocktail, but I didn't mind because they do offer mocktails here! Unfortunately none of the mocktails that are regularly offered were not speaking to me, so I decided to ask them to make me a custom drink (on the last page of the menu they say they can make you a custom drink if you dont like anything you see on the menu). I asked for a mocktail that was guava based with some citrus and a little sparkling water (going for an overall tropical vibe). The drink they brought me was just that AND MORE! The drink was light and refreshing, hitting all the flavors I wanted and was even served in a pirate themed glass to really seal the deal on the tropical vibes. Because they were able to make accommodations, this is what has got them a 5 star review from me! I would bring any and all friends here now knowing that they can make some killer mocktails. I would not be afraid to bring friends who are practicing sobriety here as there is literally something for everyone here- in fact I would prefer to bring them here over other generic bars. Just note that if you do not have a reservation, you should be prepared to bundle up as the outside space was a bit chilly. On the day that we went, it was one of the few days in which it was snowing in Baltimore and we were seated outside in their heated/covered area. Unfortunately, I could not feel the heaters at all despite them basically being giant blow torches. I don't think that their current set up was good for cold days and would have preferred for them to have more tower heaters. But aside from this, I really enjoyed my experience there. I would definitely come back with a reservation.

Yelp
A great bar for gin. I could take or leave gin, myself, but other people seem to like it. The service here is absolutely spectacular. Some of their drink creations are a bit weird, but others are just absolutely amazing. Their food menu is more than adequate, with small plates, or more entree type stuff. Its a bit pricey, but it's in Charles Village, so that's to be expected. The ambiance is really cool. It feels like both a casual place and a fancy place all at once. The seats by the windows (it operates from what used to be a corner rowhome) are really neat as you can do some people watching while eating and drinking the delicious things they offer. Try the Brussels sprouts. I can't say that enough. They were perfect, with a little bit of pork lardons thrown in.
google avatar

Ana B.

Yelp
Named after the original gin name - the British called gin Dutch Courage - it's mainly a gin forward bar but with lots of other spirits too. I love coming here for drinks and bites and sitting at the bar to talk and learn. This was the first time I've had their bigger plate and the pork chop was spectacular and well priced for $32 a plate. The cranberry bourdelais was juicy and added this sweet tartness. Because it's such a popular place service is often slow and it can be frustrating with larger groups. The holidays are probably the most fun time to visit Dutch Courage as they go all out with their glassware and decorations (they even close one day to decorate). It's owned by Brandon Doerr who is head of the bartenders guild. Some of their appetizers are overpriced ($16 for four potato fingers)!

Yelp
Stopped by on Friday during Artscape and Dutch Courage did not disappoint! We were seated fairly quickly and our waiter was great. The drinks are always delicious and fun! We also got the crab dip to share and it was perfect-- not too salty as other places have. There is indoor and outdoor seating available-- but we were definitely glad to be inside and away from the rain. Perfect for a date night!

Yelp
Always have a great time at Dutch Courage. Our waitress was very accommodating from the start and offered great suggestions and spirits. The ambiance outside is literally the best in Baltimore- the lighting and mood warm you up even in the winter! The black magic is one of my favorite drinks here. We also shared the desserts and they were incredible. Not too sweet, perfect portions.
google avatar

Meredith D.

Yelp
I have visited Dutch courage a handful of times since they opened and have consistently had good experiences. My first visit was on my birthday during COVID where the waitress presented me with a drink topped with a birthday candle outside on the patio. Even in a thunderstorm, it was a perfect night. Fast forward to my birthday this year and I invited 4 of my friends to celebrate. While I didn't receive a candle, I did request my favorite cocktail (a previous special) which they found in their bar book and promptly made for me. Reservations through Opentable do indeed specify there is a time limit based on party size. I came prepared to honor this. There was an earlier party before us occupying the room and we could not be seated until they left. I appreciate this rule from both sides. Get the pickled plate, ask for suggestions if you don't know what to order, and if you prefer a standard cocktail, they do not disappoint!

Yelp
This bar has a great vibe! I loved my cocktail, and my husband had a very fun whipped cream-topped drink. 10 out of 10.
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
A very cool bar vibe. They are a gin bar, so if you like gin, this is the place for you. GLOWS: -They require reservations for the bar and seating areas. This increases the likelihood that you will get a seat. - They have various seating styles and a cool space for groups in the back, as well as an outdoor patio area. - The kale salad was solid. It had a different preparation than usual. -The meat radish plate were very good!!! I would have never ordered it without it being recommended, but i was so happy I did. GROWS: - I would try another mocktail next time--it was extremely sweet for me, with the flavor of juice.

Yelp
This spot is solid and lives up to its reputation. Dropped in on a Tuesday (late) and were immediately greeted by the staff. There was plenty of room since the crowd was sparse. They were able to get us into a nook between the two rooms and made recommendations for several drinks. Kim in particular was fantastic. I told her what flavors I liked and she put together a beautiful cocktail. We'll definitely be going back for more drinks and to try out their food menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited Dutch Courage with some friends on a Friday night. We all ordered drinks and shared a few small plates. Overall the ambience was amazing! The inside reminded me of a cozy library and the outside had beautiful hanging plants all over. The food portion sizes were small and mediocre, as well as the drinks. Overall, a good experience for the ambience, but not sure if the food is worth the price

Yelp
Dutch Courage is a terrific place for cocktails and relaxation. A quick pass through their detailed drink offerings showed 9 full pages of just gins. Their variety made it particularly easy for us to order from their much shorter list of daily cocktail specials, feeling confident that we'd get something that was a substantial step up from your basic well drink. A well informed member of the wait staff was able to easily make sure that the particular gin for my drink would not lean too heavily towards juniper flavoring. Nobody in our group was disappointed. A different kind of special is the "pickled things" item on the food menu. It's a fun concept - the results will tend to look interesting, and, taste-wise, customers can be pretty confident that they'll know more or less what it will taste like, regardless of what is being pickled that day. Another food item is a serving of locally made cheez-it type crackers. They were fantastic. Attentive service and lovely décor top off the experience here. This was the kind of place that makes me want to return to Baltimore sooner rather than later.

Yelp
Stopped into Dutch Courage for some drinks. The place was packed and fully reserved but the host was accommodating and sat us out on the heated back patio area. Both the interior and exterior have a really nice vibe. The bar is large and there are small clustered seating areas inside that make for a cool hang out spot. We ordered the Skull Island and Black Magic cocktails. Both were absolutely delicious. We even ordered a second round. The restaurant smelled amazing and the food looked delicious. We will definitely be back to have dinner here. Highly recommend a reservation. We were lucky we got a table.

Yelp
Absolutely love the cocktails and the food here! The first experience was not the best- Server highly recommended the squash toast but it tasted bland. We looked at the ingredients on the menu and noticed the cranberry maklavi must be missing and asked the server. She then brings out the sauce on the side. It was clearly missing a key ingredient so we expected either they would remake it or comp it but we were surprised neither happened. Still, we really enjoyed all of our cocktails and the kale salad was 5/5! Second experience, sat at the bar and Andrew was so nice! Loved the Japanese breakfast cocktail I had to order it again! Again, kale salad with the smoked butternut squash and garlic dressing - amazing! Steak- sooo good, perfect texture and seasoned perfectly All of the dishes and sauces here are so flavorful and well executed! We've tried several other cocktail bars in Baltimore but this one is definitely our favorite!

Yelp
Came here for happy hour with a few friends, and we really enjoyed it! The inside was very eclectic and cool. We sat at a table with a couch and cute mismatched chairs that was kinda tucked away in another room and felt very private! I can't remember what the name of the drink was because it was a special, but it was gin with a citrus taste, it was pretty good and a great price! We also got a prosciutto and humboldt fog board that came with crotinis, it was a great snack to go with the cocktails! Additionally, we got the giant corn nuts, which made me feel so nostalgic thinking back to eating corn nuts as a kid!

Yelp
Gin is my boyfriend's absolute favorite, so I brought him here for the first time a couple weeks ago. We were seated immediately since we had a reservation. The Christmas decor in there outside patio was so cool. It definitely put us in the holiday spirit. They had SO many Holiday cocktails options (primarily gin based). I'm a Rum girl but I had a few options too. We ordered the olives, a cheese board, and lamb melt. Olives and cheese board were tasty. The lamb melt was fresh but a little dry in my opinion. We definitely plan to go back though.

Christine A.

Yelp
This is the place if you want delicious food and drinks. We went in to taste test to consider booking the patio for a bridal shower. We decided YES hands down and didn't even try the other places. I am from Florida and it's not easy to plan an event out of state. Brendan is the owner and he was FANTASTIC! He helped me plan and even purchased a stand for my welcome poster board. The day of was amazing. Brendan helped us set up which he is great at. Everyone loved it! The food and drinks were outstanding! The compliments were coming from every guest. The server Rich couldn't be nicer or more efficient. He is the sweetest guy. The atmosphere was excellent. Other customers were coming up to congratulate my daughter. Positive vibes all around Everything was perfect. Thank you Dutch Courage for being awesome. I wish we had you in Florida I felt secure planning this shower from the start. Nothing beats a stress free mom

Yelp
This was an unexpected late night vibe. My friends and I popped in around like midnight on Friday. It's definitely a cozy, intimate vibe. Since it was late we were only able to get the boards but they did not disappoint. I got the Tenorio board and the Nuri. I love tuna and sardines so the taste and quality of the Portuguese tinned fish was soooo good. For my drink I got the Eleanor, I really enjoyed it. Id definitely go back to sample the gin and try more of their food.

Yelp
Good place for fancy drinks and cocktail snacks. Look, this was the last stop in a night of bar hopping with an old friend, so I was a little hazy at this point, but I remember being relieved that they have more than gin cocktails and enjoying the whiskey-based one I got. There are a few small dishes to enjoy with your drinks, and I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled cheese. The inside is well-lit and fun. I feel compelled to comment on how spacious and clean the (gender-neutral) restrooms are - really nice. Would come back, but I'll probably start my evening here before going for a proper meal elsewhere.

Yelp
Take this review with a grain of salt. At the time of this writing, I'm not drinking alcohol for a while. And when I've been here a couple of times before, I wasn't a huge fan of gin. I can say, however, that the service is exceptional, the ambiance is elegant, and the noise level is just right. It's perfect for either a date night or a group outing. If you're not a huge gin fan, any of their gin cocktails can be made with a liquor of your choice. Furthermore, they've got a smattering of non-alcoholic options now. I had a couple and was impressed by the fact they were just the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The food options are nothing short of meh. Come for the drinks and eat elsewhere and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I love it every time I come here. Glad there's a place that exist like this in Baltimore! The drinks are always fire. Saw that there was a holiday crawl/event so I encouraged my group to come here. Come to find out, it's a daily special cocktail during their happy hour if I remember correctly. We made it on time but there wasn't any tables available. We still put our name down but got seated about 1-2 hours later so we didn't make it on time for the special holiday drink. Although the happy hour special was over, there were other cool festive cocktails to be consumed. Besides the festive drinks, the holiday decor was perfect perfect perfect. I didn't like the idea of sitting outside in the back patio since it was cold but the decor made it some what worth it. I know their food and cocktail menu changes occasional so there's always something new to bring you back to try.

Yelp
Came here for drinks with my friend and I was pleasantly surprised with the holiday decor they had for the season. It was so cute! We ordered the holiday basket and the prosciutto charcuterie board. Honestly wish that the prosciutto board came with cheese, but thankfully there was cheese in the holiday snack basket. The boards and basket were a little overpriced for what they were, but was worth it for the experience! The basket included other goodies that went well with our board. I got a gin based holiday drink (forgot the name) and it was yummy and strong! ;) definitely recommend to come with friends and enjoy the holiday spirit.

Yelp
Dutch Courage is never a miss! It has been about two years since I was first introduced to Dutch courage and it is great to see them continuously blossoming! The drinks are simply some of the most creative and best tasting in the city of Baltimore! The atmosphere is very welcoming and super cozy. I love going around winter/ holiday time because their outdoor decor is really fun. The staff is very friendly and welcoming as well. They all have gray knowledge of the menu as well as helping with recommendations. I was happy to see at my last visit on NYE how much they have expanded their food menu. I love the duck wings ( delicious) and their crème brûlée. Can't wait to try their new additions! Overall Dutch Courage is a fun place for a fist date, meeting with friends or just because

Yelp
Not sure if I should actually write/post this review because I went to Dutch Courage for a party where I prepaid and the drinks and apps were included. But since it's mostly positive, why not? When I go to Dutch Courage and have to order from a menu, etc, I will revise my review. That said, I am a member of the Pratt Contemporaries, and we had a happy hour there last week. I was amazed by how old, yet in good condition the former rowhouse was in, but they'd put in a new and kick butt bar. Seems like a lot of the features original to the house were still there, but I didn't have time for a more thorough look. On arrival, after check-in, a very helpful waiter took my drink order (from a list of specials) and subsequently brought it to me. The mixed drink was awful, but I choked it down anyway. That's what I get for deviating from beer. Next I ordered a cider and at almost 7% it was all win! There was a self-serve table of charcuterie, which was really good. There were some black crackers on one end that everyone seemed to be avoiding, but I loved them and was able to get and eat a bunch. Servers were passing through the room with appetizers on trays as well and most of them were delicious, with the exception of this flatbread which should have been cooked longer. The bread was limp and the toppings were slimy. But a bad drink and some unpleasant flatbread didn't take away from all the other good offerings, ambiance, and staff. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The venue itself was clean and well kept. It was a good visit and I hope to go back soon.

Yelp
Really cool cocktail bar. Large gin-focused menu of extremely creative drinks, plus old classics (can't go to a gin-centered upscale cocktail bar without enjoying a Ramos fizz, and they do a phenomenal one). They also include a few G+T variants that somehow manage to turn that usually-simple-in-presentation spirit-and-mixer number into insanely elaborate cocktails. Great selection of food and snacks, too. Enjoyed some house bar mix, and a little plate of tinned mussels and accompaniments.

Yelp
It's not a very diverse establishment, with respect to staff as well as patrons, for the most part. Maybe that will change with time. It's nice to see how historic buildings can be transformed into a bar/restaurant. The host was very kind and the owner was present when I dined in. He was nice and inquired about my experience. The drinks were nice. Tried a few cocktails and wine. Not the place for wine, as the options were very limited. However, the cocktail options were nice. I would have appreciated some guidance from the server when it came to the cocktails. We had the giant corn nuts as a snack before our food came out. I would not order them again. The entrees were good. We tried the almond cake for dessert, it was okay - lightly sweetened. Ultimately, I wouldn't come here for dinner bc the dinner options were limited but would return for drinks and a board or some other nibbles. Even tho I felt like things were a little over priced for the overall experience. Also, I came on a cold winter night and the indoor seating was definitely the authentic Baltimore row home vibe; drafty and cold lol

Yelp
Solid spot for drinks! I am a gin lover and the idea of a gin centered spot was so alluring to me! The hostess was so kind, and brought me to my table early. The waitress was nice and helpful, but I wish she had more advice and tasting notes to share. The drinks were pretty nice, and very unique! Inside feels very homey and also slightly vintage. I had a really great time and I will be back!

Yelp
Another case of thinking you wrote a review but, did not! How gauche of me?! On my latest visit I stopped in to try their happy hour drink, "No Shot, All Chaser": Plantation O.F.T.D Rum., Far North Alander Rum, Oliver Social Lager, Lemon, Simple & Pink Peppercorns. Hmmmmm. It was the perfect balance of sweet and sour to my palate. Also while here I noshed on the Peppered Beef Carpaccio. Heavenly. The arugula gave a peppery note to delicate savory beef. It also had pickled mustard seeds and charred onion aioli. Such a great dish. Also while here I delighted in a glass of Domaine Bousquet, a yummy Brut Rose' I'm definitely coming back again and again. If you find yourself in the Old Goucher area, stop in.

Yelp
Super cute, eclectic bar with a huge menu of fun, seasonal, and classic cocktails. We stopped in for a drink and it was packed, thankfully we snagged a seat outside. Our server was really friendly and attentive, even as his section got busier as the night went on.

Yelp
Nice little spot in the Charles Village. I wished this place was here when I used to live here. But I will say definitely try the Courageous G&T, very smooth and neat. We also tried the Eleanor and the Bee Sting (spicy kick). The hotdog was nice like any other hotdogs. I love the verbal exchange with the people and loved the decor of vintage furniture.

Yelp
I've been holding out on visiting this place for a minute, but I must say, it is so worth the hype. I really didn't think it would be! When you first enter, you're transported into a vintage, low-light, intimate atmosphere. There's traditional tables, a bar, and more lounge-type seating. It's perfect for a date night, a gathering with friends, or even people-watching (shoutout my fellow introverts). Although the place was packed, we were able to be seated quickly. Also, I could hear those in my party, which can sometimes be a problem in packed spaces. The drink menu is long, but our server did his best to answer our questions, make recommendations, and allow for us to modify our drinks. I 10/10 recommend the Catalina Breeze. The avocado, coconut, and mint join together in a beautifully flavorful experience. I'd definitely say there's something for everyone! I'm definitely going to be coming back here.

Yelp
Great place to grab drinks after work, a celebration or just because. What I enjoy most about this place is that the drinks/ menu feels intentional meaning, that research was done to ensure anything you get is tasty with a good balance of flavors. I appreciate how friendly the safe can be and their knowledge of every item on the menu. It's helpful to walk into a place and feel like you're being guided to make a good selection based on your personal taste. My only concern is that the service can take a little long.
