Salmon Avocado Fried Rice and Marinated Cucumbers Reign in Pac Heights | Eater SF

"Eyebrow-raisingly popular and just two years old, this dumpling spot earns its weekend crowds, with staff on Friday and Saturday nights literally pulling tables together to make more seating. Start with the fundamentals: the salmon avocado fried rice is fresh, creamy, and bountiful for $20, and the marinated cucumbers—firm, saucy spears shaved into dark green isosceles triangles—come in a portion generous enough for three or four for just under $7. A scaldingly hot pot of tea is a smart order while lingering over whichever dumplings suit your fancy (I hit the shrimp and pea shoot), plus a veritable slab of pan-fried turnip cakes that are $8 well-spent. The vibe is bright under overhead lights and resolutely no-frills, drawing a truly diverse crowd of young families, big friend groups, and delivery drivers darting in and out. Insider tip: Monday through Thursday brings a truly batty happy hour with unlimited refills of house white wine, sake, or imported beers like Tsing Tao and Asahi for eight bucks." - Paolo Bicchieri

The Best Restaurants and Bars to Eat and Drink in Pacific Heights | Eater SF

"For a chill dinner in the ‘hood, Dynasty Dumpling delivers. It’s a casual spot serving both American Chinese entrees including orange chicken, honey walnut prawns, and Mongolian beef. But the real stars of the show are the dumplings, as the name suggests. Order them stuffed with shrimp and leeks; corn, chicken, and mushrooms; or barbecued pork. The turnip cakes and scallion pancakes should also not be overlooked." - Dianne de Guzman

Dynasty Dumpling - Review - Lower Pacific Heights - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This casual walk-in Chinese spot is a must-hit for dumplings in Lower Pacific Heights. The menu covers every kind of meat-and-wrapper permutation imaginable: hot and spicy pork xiao long bao, pork and corn boiled dumplings, and chili oil wontons. They also have an extensive selection of entrées that fill you up and hit the spot, like salt and pepper pork chops and chicken and corn soup. Pack your crew around a table next to the carved wooden shelves or under the big tapestry up front, order the massive dan dan noodles, and prepare for leftovers." - Julia Chen

Google
We dined in Dynasty Dumpling after a show last night as it had good ratings on Google maps. We were lucky to get parking right as we arrived. Mind you, there isn't much so bare that in mind. We arrived within an hour of closing, and this place was still quite busy. We were seated promptly. The place is bright, decor inviting and clean. Our jasmine tea came piping hot, which suited the cool night weather. We proceeded to order our food. The two kind ladies running the table orders and service were very efficient and helpful to all the guests who were dining. There were 3 more groups who arrived after us plus at least 5 food delivery drivers and 3 people picking up their own orders. For context, we were seated in front of the cashier's desk and could see them coming and going. Dinner was delicious Cantonese cuisine, contrary to some reviews. Our experience was perfect. I will let the pics of the food speak for themselves. My favorites were the dumplings, I must say. Both are very good from the dumpling wrapper/skin to the differently seasoned flavorful fillings. Price was on point. The portions, definitely for sharing, we have plenty now for lunch today. The only pic missing is the seafood tofu soup, which also came piping hot and so delicious we forgot to take a pic. We would definitely dine here again when back in the city. Another plus is that the restrooms are kept very clean, for those wondering.

Google
The food was delicious. The dumplings were tasty and texture was perfect. The fried pork buns were also perfection. The Kung Pao chicken was not for me but my husband liked it so no minus points.

Google
My husband and I came down from SoCal to explore San Francisco and decided to visit Japantown/Chinatown. We love Asian food, so we searched on Google and Yelp for authentic spots and came across Dynasty Dumplings. With strong ratings (4.6 on Yelp and 4.3 on Google) and reviews mentioning no MSG and cleaner ingredients, we thought it would be a great choice. First, parking was a nightmare. We circled for 20 minutes with no luck and ended up calling the restaurant. The woman who answered was rude, rushed, and difficult to understand, though she did eventually take my order. We picked up our food, brought it back to the truck, and started eating. Here’s my honest breakdown: Chicken Corn Dumplings – Decent portion size, but completely lacking flavor. Easily some of the worst dumplings I’ve ever had. Beef Dumplings – Even worse than the chicken. Overcooked, oddly textured, and tasted unpleasantly raw. Chow Mein – Hugely disappointing. The noodles were thick, more like udon than chow mein, which wasn’t clear in the description. Flavor-wise, it was nothing but garlic—no salt, no balance, just greasy and bland. Veggie Spring Rolls – Absolutely dreadful. Oily, burnt, and strangely tasted like cinnamon sticks. I couldn’t finish even one bite. My hands were left coated in oil. Shrimp Fried Rice – Completely flavorless. The shrimp tasted off, and the rice had no seasoning whatsoever. To make things worse, I started having stomach pains after eating it. Beef & Broccoli – The worst dish of all. The beef had a strange, almost fake texture I’ve never experienced before. The dish was watery, oily, soggy, and again, just overpowering garlic with no real seasoning. For context, we spent $100 on this meal and couldn’t eat most of it. My husband ended up with an upset stomach afterward. We didn’t even feel comfortable giving the leftovers away, which says a lot. I reached out to the restaurant to request some sort of reimbursement. The woman I spoke to offered to redo the dumplings or spring rolls, but since we were already far away, that wasn’t helpful. I’m honestly shocked by the positive reviews. Maybe it was just an off day, but based on our experience, I won’t be returning or recommending this restaurant. Hopefully this review helps others before deciding to try it.

Google
Hands down, my favorite place in San Francisco!!! This place has EXCELLENT, delicious dim sum and food. The spicy pork soup dumplings are some of the best I've had. Get two orders. I've tried the Singapore style noodles, (excellent if you want to add a mild flavorful noodle dish to your dinner spread). The staff is exceptionally kind, helpful, courteous and accommodating. The place is clean and inviting. The food is delicious. Thank you Ken, Jessica, Andy and Yia-Yia. Go and eat in for the lunch specials and dinner! Try the egg yolk custard buns too! Best thing ever. I've had the Mongolian Beef, Beef with String Beans, Singapore Noodles, Shu Mai, BBQ pork buns, all delicious never had a bad meal here! Go! It's delicious 🤤🤤

Google
Dynasty Dumpling has all the ingredients of a good Chinese food restaurant. The menu choices, the food freshness, and dining room ambience.

Google
Good food and good service with enough veg dishes to choose from. The pan fried veggie potstickers were quite tasty.

Google
My wife and I made an impromptu decision for dinner, and glad we picked the right place! The food was delicious and not greasy or added sodium. I ordered the salmon/avocado/egg/rice dish and my wife got 8 vegetable dumplings and vegetable noodles. Very generous portions to all the dishes! My salmon rice had the right flavors of savory and creamy. The noodles were not greasy and the vegetables added crisp flavor. The dumplings look house made and were packed with vegetables. Service was excellent! A great find and great food. Price was on point. We will come back!

Great selection and awesome value. Love the dumplings and pan fried noodles. The Xiao Long Baos are fantastic.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my meal here and I can't stop thinking about the food. We ordered the sweet-and-sour pork which all of us were blown away by. We also ordered the marinated cucumbers, beef chow fun, the XLB soup dumplings, siu mai, cong you bing, char siu bao, chocolate XLB and steamed custard buns. There were three adults and four kids, and it was the perfect amount. We ordered mostly off the happy hour menu on Friday between 5 and 6 PM. The food came quickly, and the servers were attentive. We were alone until about 5:45 when the restaurant started getting packed. The restaurant is newer, clean and a nice environment to enjoy a delicious meal. They were working hard on packaging orders, and by the time we left, there was a long line growing for to-go order pick up. If I lived in the city, this would be our go to.
google avatar

Jaime R.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our takeout from Dynasty Dumpling. We ordered online for pickup and we tried a wide spread: BBQ pork fried rice, Singapore-style vermicelli noodles, pork XLB, steamed pork buns, duck potstickers, orange chicken, and beef roll. The clear family favorite was the orange chicken--even our toughest critics (our daughter and Mormor) loved it. The cold beef roll was the only miss. This is a well-priced dumpling spot in Pacific Heights. A solid value; a similar meal at a Fillmore dumpling spot would've cost about 50% more. Ambience is your standard Chinese restaurant. Pickup took a bit longer than quoted, but the staff was hustling with a mostly full dining room and lots of takeout orders. Overall, good food and great value.

Yelp
Surprisingly, I do love this place. First, there really isn't much in this neighborhood. Dynasty feels like a warm hug with options for everyone. I always forget to take a picture of my food, so clearly I'm truly never disappointed. This time I got the shrimp wonton soup & fried spring rolls. Spring rolls were very crispy & tasty, just a little greasy. The soup absolutely healed me from all of the cold weather lately, and was a yummy option for the price. Staff is usually quick and efficient, so give them grace. It really is a cute spot for a casual night. Basically, give 'em a shot and try everything! You'll find something that you love.

Yelp
Really well priced dumpling spot in Pac Heights. Love how garlicky the green beans were. The chicken dim sum (rare to find) was also good. The shrimp and leek dumplings were the only disappointment and had a weird aftertaste so we probably won't order that next time.
google avatar

Theresa P.

Yelp
Found this great Chinese restaurant that serves dim sum all day and evening up until closing time. The food was excellent although finding parking was difficult . It's the typical San Francisco hunt for parking and hope you get lucky scenario. We were seated immediately and from the looks of it, it seems to be everybody's go to. The dining room was filled, and there was a constant flow of DoorDashers, Uber eats and GrubHubers picking up bags of aromatic eats. We ordered: Shanghai stir fried noodles and added beef. This dish was delicious and savory with thick, chewy firm noodles and chopped vegetables. The sauce perfectly coated the noodles and wasn't oily like many noodle dishes. Salt and Pepper Squid. This dish consists of pieces of squid sliced into rings, coated in batter, deep fried and sprinkled with salt. It comes with sliced jalapeño and topped with pepper flakes. Great appetizer to start off your meal. Service was impressive and our water glasses were always filled without having to hail a server.

Yelp
Didn't expect it to be packed at 5pm on a Wednesday night. They were clearly understaffed. Be that as it may, the food was delicious, fresh, hot and tasty. From the hit and sour soup to the dim sum to the Mongolian beef, chicken moo shoo and shrimp with asparagus, it was all great. Not greasy at all. We loved the pea shoots and green beans were a universal favorite. It's. Our new go-to Chinese restaurant!

Yelp
This spot was great! They use chicken breast for their chicken dishes and the service is so quick. The food was tasty, loved the cucumbers. While they had an extensive menu, everything we had was good.

Yelp
Under $15 lunch special drew me in (for dinner!) I was curious. I took the 1 bus and Dynasty Dumpling was across the street. Great location at California and Divis. Around 7:30pm, it was pretty busy inside. Interior is clean and smooth. Looks nice inside. I ordered online for pickup and my 3 dishes were ready when I got there. My boyfriend and I enjoyed - B9. Hot and Spicy Pork XLB ($11.85) - C5. Wonton with Chili Sauce ($10.85) - D1. Pan Fried Vegetable and Pork Buns ($10.55) Everything was very good and filling. The chili sauce with the wontons was not overly spicy or overwhelming. The hot and spicy pork XLB were juicy and unique compared to other XLB I've had--broth inside was good. We really enjoyed the pan fried pork buns--also juicy and warm. Will be back! Service was good at pickup.

Yelp
On a recent visit to b.Patisserie, I noticed Dynasty Dumplings sitting kitty corner on California at Divisadero. I quickly checked Yelp and saw Dynasty Dumplings had good reviews, so I gave it a try. It has dumpling in its name, so of course I had to get an order of XLB. I opted for the classic pork. I also tried their salt & pepper chicken wings and an order of sauteed pea leaves. I LOVED their soup spoons! Oh man, they were perfect for XLB. Think extra-deep Chinese soup spoon the perfect size to capture the whole XLB and its soupy goodness. The wings were huge, and the portion of garlic sauteed pea leaves was ginormous! Part of the reason I was craving green leafy vegetables was because I got sauteed pea leaves near my house in San Jose the previous week and the $20 order didn't even fill up a pint-sized container. Dynasty Dumpling did it right! The food was excellent, service was good, and the location right next door to b. on the Go was perfect. Thank you, Dynasty Dumpling!

Yelp
This is a nice lunch spot. Food came out fast, service was quick, and the inside is clean. I would come back for the lunch special if in the area. I ordered the wonton noodle soup with the combo Shanghai soup dumplings. The dumplings were okay, not my favorite ones but good. The wonton in the soup was good, noddles were nice and springy, and broth hot. I would come back for the lunch special if I was in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Flavor is good but I have some reservations for the ingredients they used. We ordered boiled fish with pickled vegetables. The fish they used is called swai or basa which is a farmed fish that can be high in pollutants and mercury. I also saw one of the waiters cut and eat an orange in the cashier area. I am not against eating during break or even eating when you feel hungry but maybe not do that so blatantly right in front of the customers. The same waiter was also chitchatting with a coworker and taking payment right after eating the orange.
google avatar

Wan-Yu L.

Yelp
Solid spot! My friends and I were craving dim sum, and we stumbled upon this spot. There was no wait when we entered during lunch time on a Saturday, which was nice. The portion sizes here were fantastic! Every dish was large enough to share with our group of four. I enjoyed most of the things we ordered, but I absolutely loved the way they cooked the garlic pea sprouts! The only thing that my group didn't like was the pork and cabbage dumplings; it was not very flavorful and the filling itself was not good. I would definitely come back and try other items here next time.
google avatar

Kari M.

Yelp
This is one of our son's favorite Chinese restaurants and when we came to visit him, we knew we had to try it. We arrived without reservations on a Saturday night and it was about 1/2 full. We were seated quickly and ordered so many fabulous things off of the menu. The spicy cucumbers were so very good, as were the bbq pork steamed buns, green beans, dumplings but our very favorite were the garlic noodles! They were so good that we had to order an additional order of noodles so that we would have leftovers!
google avatar

MarMar G.

Yelp
Had the best time with friends eating great Chinese food and dumplings!!! Everything was fresh and steaming hot.
google avatar

Caroline N.

Yelp
Our group ordered an array of dishes, each one was delicious. The braised eggplant was rich and flavorful. The pan-fried juicy pork buns stood out in particular--crispy on the bottom, soft on top, and bursting with flavorful broth inside. They tasted like a perfect marriage between a classic soup dumpling and a traditional pork bun--comforting, satisfying, and truly juicy. Another standout was the fried shrimp wrapped in tofu skin. The exterior had a beautifully crisp texture that gave way to tender, juicy shrimp inside. It struck that balance of crunch and succulence. Dishes arrived quickly and hot, fresh from the kitchen. While the service was fairly straightforward--not overly attentive but efficient--the food more than made up for it. Highly recommend for dumpling lovers. We'll definitely be returning.

Yelp
This place is a ride or die for me! The best Chinese food I've ever had. It's in my neighborhood so I've ordered from here various times. I've dined in for the lunch special (my fav), dinner and also ordered takeout. The food here is incredible, literally every dish is so amazing. But my top two are the Shanghai noodles and the boiled shrimp and leek dumplings. Service here is great. The workers are super nice, kind, friendly, accommodating and helpful. Ambiance in here is perfect. It's nicer but still casual. Great for various types of events. I usually eat solo here and I love it. But I've also gone with family and seen plenty of people having dates, business meetings, etc.

Judy H.

Yelp
Very perplexed as to why this place has garnered such high ratings. Marinated cucumber: generous portion. However, since they had been cut in big chunks and not well-marinated, the flavor is a bit lackluster. Crab & pork XLB: the skin is on the thick side; not much juice/broth Leek & shrimp dumplings: decent, but the skin is a bit doughy Very clean bathroom!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday around 1pm no wait for 2 people. Simple clean interior and attentive staff. Ordered the chow fun, green beans, shrimp and pork siu mai and pan fried pork buns. Chow fun was classic but nothing to right home about. Green beans were kind of cold and didn't have much flavor. The siu mai were good and the pan fried pork buns were too. Dumpling home has more flavorful ones though! Big portions though and good for takeout in a pinch!
google avatar

Frank T.

Yelp
We searched for a XLB place coming from Chicago a good Chinese food desert. We ordered the Hot spicy pork XLB and then the hot spicy pork shen jian bao (SJB). OMG the food was sooo good. The XLB were huge. You get six but the size is equivalent to 8 baos. It wasn't very spicy. just enough to add flavor. The SJB is 4 amazing baos. The meat filling has the soup in it so it squirts flavor with every bite. So make sure you close your mouth or you will wear some of the soup. We had to have another one they were so good. The bottoms nicely brown just like in Shanghai. The menu is extensive. This is a real treasure. They serve beer and sake. If I lived in SF I would be back weekly.
google avatar

Linda Y.

Yelp
Came here on a weeknight and it wasn't super busy and ordered a few dishes with my partners. I appreciated the huge portion sizes -- we had plenty left over to take home after. Feel like the things we ordered were more "American" chinese food than authentic dishes, but knew that going in so it was fine. The sheng jian bao was not that great (definitely go to Dumpling Home for that instead) but thought everything else was tasty. I like the beef chow fun and garlic green beans I got from takeout from here before more than what's pictured below haha.

Yelp
i've been a loyal customer since they opened & am finally getting around to posting for them! theyre always a friendly bunch of staff, even if it gets busy & fluent in both english and mandarin. one of my favorite go-to order is the hot and spicy pork xlb. it's not really that spicy, but it's packed with flavors and still has the slightest "kick to the back of the throat" kind of spice. as someone who can barely eat 5 hot cheetos, i find this level of spice very manageable!! i've ordered from this place -- togo/doordash, dine-in with varying party sizes, and it continues to be a staple! a cozy atmosphere that isn't too bustling like other dumpling franchises around the city.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Was craving some Chinese food and normally I go out to the Sunset but decided to find a spot around the Pac Heights area. Ordered the chicken chow mein and sesame chicken. Food came out literally in less than 10 minutes and it was fresh too. Sesame chicken was alright, I wish the texture was a bit crunchier. The chicken was a bit soggy from the sauce, but flavor was good! Chicken chow mein was also yummy; good amount of sauce used in the dish so it wasn't bland. Overall wouldn't mind coming again to try some of their other items!
google avatar

Thu N.

Yelp
Dynasty Dumpling is a well-decorated, sunny little spot in Lower Pac Heights with what looks like a super extensive list of happy hour and group deals. recs: shrimp and leek boiled dumplings price: ~$20/person tips: we used the doordash dining out deal here to save $10 on a $25+ order! - Scallion Mixed Noodles: The flavor of the scallions really came through, and the noodles tasted fresh, but I felt pretty sluggish after eating this because it's a relatively oily dish - Boiled Shrimp and Leek Dumplings: Shrimp was bouncy, and the flavor of the leeks really came through! Simple ingredients that contrasted really well. - Roast Duck Potstickers: Ordered this out of curiosity and it was exactly what it sounds like -- diced roast duck inside a well-fried and crispy potsticker! Service was fast -- we were seated early and we paid at the counter easily with the Doordash deal.

Yelp
I appreciate that the restaurant is open late on a Sunday. While waiting for my dad being in the ER Kaiser, I completely forgot about dinner time for my elderly mommy. We arrived about 20 minutes before closing, we still got a friendly greeting and got seated promptly. The servers are super nice and polite. The ambiance is casual. Our food arrived sizzling hot and tasty. I liked the garlic green beans which were cooked perfectly and flavorful. The turnip cake is special, just like how others raved on Yelp. The dumplings noodle soup is delish. Give this place a try! You will like it.

Yelp
I'm not someone who avidly leaves reviews, however this place was so good that I want other people to also experience this food. Super reasonably priced and delicious dim sum. I got the orange chicken, scallion pancake, cucumbers, and pan fried pork bun and easily split with a friend - everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. If you have room after this spiritual experience, finish the night off with a teeny scoop of ice cream at Salt & Straw.
google avatar

Yelp
Dumplings in the city always hit better. The honey, walnut shrimp wasn't my favorite but very serviceable and good if that's what you're looking for. But the dumplings were on point and the fried potsticker was very, very tasty. Service was quick and friendly, and the prices were reasonable.

Yelp
1st time here for early lunch special. Weekday 11-3, I think. I got there @ 2:30, super quiet. Very extensive list of options, $15 = Hot & sour soup, Entree, rice and 1 Spring roll. I had the shrimp and scrambled egg and fried rice. I had them top the dish off with Oyster sauce and asked for more on the side. Portion was huge, hot and fresh. Soup was also great. Spring roll was cold, but they fixed that immediately. Egg was a little runny, but mixed with the rice and shrimp it all worked out. Lots of HUGE shrimp as well. Super nice servers, restaurant is immaculately clean. They can get pretty busy at night, usually. So great place for lunch if you are in the area. All this w/lots of leftovers for $20. I have enough food leftover for 2 more meals. I will be back and tell all my friends.

Yelp
When we first walked in, it was crowded on a Sunday night! We were seated immediately for a party of 2. Parking is a little hard to find in this area. We ordered a bunch of dishes because we wanted to give everything a fair try. Ranking them from our favorite: 1. Mu Shu Pork - so good! Very well balanced and perfect amount of smoke 2. Szechuan Spicy Chicken - not oily, light breading, quality pieces of chicken breast 3. Sautéed String Beans - on the softer side, not as crunchy 4. Salt & Pepper Wings - not too salty and very juicy 5. Asparagus Beef - Flavor was good but didn't like how thick the sauce was 6. Shanghai Fried Noodles - typically they should be a lot chewier, the noodles were doughy and undercooked, so sad because I love Shanghainese noodles Overall still a very delicious and filling meal. It may be my new go-to Chinese spot!! Portions are big, perfect for large parties and the service was fast. A great casual spot for friends and family or even a quick takeout meal!

Yelp
Delicious food all around. We are definitely coming back. The service was incredible and every one was so kind,

Yelp
Have been here a few times now and this is probably my favorite dumpling place in the city. The real star is the sheng jian bao (not sure what they call it in the english menu). This is the only place that I have that comes anything close to what it would taste like in Shanghai. The Hong Kong pan fried noodles here are also really great. I grew up eating this dish as a kid and it is still a favorite of mine as an adult. The mongolian beef here is also quite good. The soup dumplings are good but not great. The meat is a bit bland and the proportions are a bit off. I would stay away from the scallion pancake as it isn't that great. Food comes out fast and the prices are pretty reasonable. We spent about $20 per person.

Yelp
Came to the city to act like a tourist and visit the California Academy of Science. We came out craving Chinese food and being in the city you can't go wrong in looking for good authentic Chinese restaurants those mom and pops shops. This one by far hands down the best. Everything is fresh, hot, full of flavor, chewy and saucy. This is my second time here and it has not disappointed. Definitely give it a trying. Delicious Comforting and adorable what more do you want!

Yelp
Got lunch at yet another one of these places for dumplings. It may be one of the more affordable options in Pacific Heights. Dynasty Dumpling is bigger than it looks with a good sized dining area. Plenty of tables for a crowd. The prices are pretty okay for the amount and how big these are so eat up and get stuffed. At lunch it was pretty busy. It's annoying but it's a good sign. The dumplings are the main thing. Get a lot for not a lot. It's about $8 for the Vegetable Dumplings, which comes in the basket in which these are steamed. Big green dumplings. These are filling. Looks are deceiving as these are filled up and a few are enough. These have carrots and peas. Better place among the options for dumplings. It's affordable for how much you get. There's plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians.

Yelp
I picked this restaurant since we were in the neighborhood, not realizing that we had ordered delivery from here before. This time we ate inside and it was even better. We enjoyed all the food and the service was also good. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
It's all about the dumplings plus everything else we ordered was delicious. My 6 year old granddaughter is a soup dumpling addict. She conceded that the dumplings were better than those in San Diego where she lives. The restaurant is very attractive and the service was attentive. We ended up ordering beef chow fun in a delicious sauce, Szechuan shrimp( ample amounts of large shrimp in a spicy sauce, pan fried pork dumplings plus 2 orders of Shanghai original soup dumplings. The tea arrives in a pretty teapot. The portions were large and our food arrived piping hot and pretty quickly. Can't wait to try more dishes from their menu. Everything was very fresh.

Yelp
I believe the food is good because of the close proximity to SF Chinatown, I also believe the prices are high because of the close proximity to Pacific Heights. I'm not saying I agree but I understand. We did takeout this time, but would love to return for a sit down meal. My favorite was the duck dumpling. BB

Yelp
The most recent time I came to Dynasty Dumpling definitely bumped this place up to 5 stars for me! It was my second time eating in the restaurant, and the service and food were absolutely deserving of the highest praise. My group of 8 came in on a Friday a little before 8pm and it was really busy inside. Every table was basically full, so we put our number down and went to Scopo Divino across the street to enjoy some wine while we waited. I got a call at 8:30 that our table was ready, so we headed over. Our waitress was so friendly and welcoming even though we were getting seated within 30 minutes of closing. We ordered walnut prawns, salt and pepper fish, garlic chow mein, veggie fried rice, mapo tofu, cumin lamb, orange chicken, crab and pork xiao long bao, bbq pork buns, pan fried pork buns, and har gow. The food started coming out shortly after we ordered and everything was piping hot and fresh. The new standout items for me were the garlic chow mein, cumin lamb, and pan fried pork buns, but there was nothing bad to say about any dish. The garlic noodles came with thick and chewy noodles tossed in a delicious garlic butter sauce, made even better with some of their chili oil. The cumin lamb was sooo tender and flavorful, and went so well with some rice. The pan fried pork buns had a nice thin wrapper, full of juicy meat, and was crispy on the bottom. I didn't get to try the veggie fried rice and mapo tofu, but they got good reviews. The dim sum was pretty good too, my fav being the flavor of the soup in the crab and pork xiao long bao. We had a vegetarian and pescetarian in our group, and there were good options for both of them. The house cold sake was easy to drink and went well with the fried and spicier dishes. Huge shoutout to the restaurant for staying open until almost 10pm for us, we were so thankful that we got to enjoy our meal and we weren't rushed out. It was some of my friends' first time coming to visit and I'm so happy I got to share this neighborhood spot with them! :D

Yelp
I am not a dumpling person but I loved everything that we ordered! We had the steamed BBQ pork buns that were so fluffy and tasty. The deep fried sesame balls and pork soup dumplings were glorious. We also loved the wonton soup and the veggies were so fresh. We will definitely be back!!! Service was great - very kind staff. Also the place was cozy and clean.

Yelp
Family of 6 visiting Muir Redwood Monument love this place. Dumpling is very fulfilling. Their Ha Gao dumpling got double shrimps. Fried rice, walnut shrimps, salt & pepper pork chop are all very yummy. Fried tofu is also crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Ordering is easy. They would give us this electronic thingy for us to order and send the order to the kitchen directly. Would recommend this place. Hands down best of the best for the $$$.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night for dinner. We did not have to wait, but the restaurant eventually filled up and had a bit of a wait as the night went on. XLB - 4/5. I am usually not the biggest fan of XLB, but I liked theirs here. Mine was not super hot like XLB normally is; this could be a good or bad thing depending on how you like your XLB. Dry braised seasonal beans - 4/5. Solid vegetable dish, but this dish was actually quite spicy! If you can't handle spice, you should just get the garlic beans option. Pan fried pork buns - 5/5. This is my favorite dumpling over XLB, and this place does it really well. I really liked this dish. Dry fried chicken wings - 3/5. They gave a LOT of wings, which was good! The taste and the friedness on the chicken was just okay though. Other places make better versions of this dish. Beef roll - 3/5. I liked the pancake on this roll, but I did not like how the beef was a bit cold?? I would have preferred if the beef was warm too, but the vegetables inside like the cucumber were cold. Parking is street parking only. It could get difficult in that area, but people come and go in that area pretty often. Overall, a good Chinese/dumpling place in SF. Not the best, but it compares to the other "top" dumpling spots in SF.

Yelp
Fantastic Mongolian beef! Great little SF spot near Pac Heights. Happy hour is 5-7pm with 30 percent off. We sat outdoor in the beautiful weather. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We've been regulars at Dumpling Dynasty for a while now, and it truly feels like a second home. The staff, especially our favorite waitress, always go above and beyond. She knows us so well that she brings hot water in mugs for my elderly parents and forks--without us even asking. That kind of thoughtful service is rare and deeply appreciated. The food? Absolutely delicious every single time. From the dumplings to the noodles and everything in between, the flavors are always spot-on and satisfying. And the best part? The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

Yelp
We didn't try the dumplings which is what this place is supposed to be known for, so you'd have to take that into account. The non dumpling dishes that we tried were just average at best, not particularly tasty but not horrible either, overall would not try again given that there are many other more delicious restaurants at the same price point. We had the beef chow fun (bland, and several clumps, though not too greasy), walnut shrimp (big shrimp but not many), jie lan vegetable (garlic sauce just ok, very light, I guess good for people who prefer dishes to be on the lighter flavor side), cumin lamb (bigger thicker pieces of lamb than other places but definitely with meat tenderizer), dry fried green beans (very wet sauce as opposed to usual dry stir fry, not very flavorful). Portion sizes were decent for price, that may be redeeming point. We got carryout and ordered at the restaurant rather online since we were in the neighborhood. Food was ready quickly, not a long wait, though we were there off peak on the early side around 3pm. Didn't eat there but went inside to pick up and ambience is a bit nicer than most other Chinese restaurants.

Yelp
The place definitely hits the cozy aspect. The place was not too loud, the service was to the point but good. The custard bun was good (extremely soft), the spicy xlb was decent, and the crystal shrimp was amazing. As dumpling places in sf goes, this is definitely top 10 (maybe even top 5) overall. The only caveat is the service is a bit slow and I wish the spicy stuff was spicier :)

Yelp
Amazing. Great food, fast service. Always huge portions. I really recommend their shrimp dumplings of any kind especially the fried ones but really anything they make is good. Definitely worth getting a desert dumpling with custard. Really fun aesthetic with a central display on their divider which is super cute! Great date night place!

Yelp
The dumplings here are sooo good! We tried a variety of the steamed and fried dumplings and they were delicious. We got the crystal shrimp, shrimp and leek, shrimp and pea sprout, and shrimp in tofu skin. Everything was so tasty and fresh. I really couldn't pick a favorite. For dessert we got the custard buns and those were fantastic. Honestly can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Tried this spot on a whim, and it was great! The Shanghai Fried Noodles and Sesame Chicken together are enough for 3 people or meals. Looking forward to trying some more dishes from here.

Yelp
Fast and wholesome food. We got two types of the egg yolk buns which were quite yummy. A lamb dish was hearty. Even basics like sautéed broccoli were flavorful. The crab and pork soup dumplings didn't have much soup inside but the flavor was good.
