10 Best Places for Picnic Supplies in D.C., According to Eater Editors | Eater DC

"Not just the best spot for grocery shopping, with fresh produce and an impressive deli counter, Each Peach has a large selection of sweet treats, prepared salads and sandwiches, ridiculously good house-made dips (try the herby labneh), and local cheeses that you can pair with a baguette from a Baked Joint. If you’re looking for a sandwich to take on a hike along Rock Creek Trail or enjoy in Malcolm X Park, consider freshly made apple and brie or banh mi varieties for under $10." - Emily Venezky

Each Peach is such a great little market. The bread here might honestly be the best I’ve had in DC — fresh, crusty, and super flavorful. It’s a small space, but everything feels really thoughtfully chosen. Whether I need something quick or just want to browse, I always find something good. Just a solid neighborhood spot that makes you want to come back.

While Each Peach is a lovely specialty grocer and a great place to buy unique and gourmet products, this review is specifically in regards to a private cheese tasting class lead by Jeanlouise. Classes are available both on-site or at your own location, so Jeanlouise joined us in our home to host a fun, informative, delicious evening of cheese tasting to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Our group of ten had a universally wonderful time! We chose the "Women of Cheese" theme, which celebrated women cheesemakers. The seven cheeses we tried were wide ranging and totally new experiences for everyone--they were not your standard everyday varieties. We were also provided with some really tasty accompaniments to snack on between the cheeses. Jeanlouise was incredibly knowledgeable about both the history of cheese (her background is in anthropology, which she applies to the subject of cheese) and the current goings-on of the cheese world, and she handled every curveball question with ease. We shared lots of laughs and walked away with a new appreciation for the diversity of specialty cheese. I would highly recommend booking her for your next celebration!

Google
Bad customer service. White people only. Black and Latino are not welcome. Last Thursday, Thanksgiving day I was looking for a Mexican product. I wasn't allow to enter the store because they were "closed". 30 seconds later a White person was allowed to enter the store and make a purchase. When I asked to why I was allow, the Asian lady said the person was her relative which was a lied. Community stores must serve everyone independent of the color of their skin.

Google
Fairly overpriced so have never bought actual groceries. Some counter staff are nice, the person who seems to own it hasn’t been friendly in the five years I’ve stopped in for wine or pastries. I sometimes buy the premade meals in the deli case by the sandwiches- this week I experienced my third food poisoning from these meals over two years. I guess that’s not a huge amount but it’s not great. It was the only thing I had yesterday and four hours after eating it I was queasy and then up all night unable to hold food down (same as the other two experiences.) They may want to do quality control on the food packaging and handling.

Omg!!! So cute!!! I was excited to buy a Dresdener Christmas Stollen.

So glad this place exists! Amazing curated selection. Their almond croissants are honestly the best ones I have tried in DC by a large margin. All the bread and desserts are amazing.

Google
We love our baguettes! Best baguettes in DC. The store staff are marvelous. They suggested to hold them for the customers. How nice is that? They run out pretty quick.

Google
Best little local market in DC! The bakery is delicious and they have the best selection of ready to go Mediterranean food. Will always be a faithful each peach shopper <3

Yelp
Each Peach Market is the cutest little shop with great sandwiches that my bestie introduced me to in DC. On my first day we opted for sandwiches from Each Peach. I opted for my go to sandwich which is always Italian. It's called The Dude on their menu which comes with Genoa salami, hot coppa ham, mozzarella, tomato, banana peppers, arugula, and balsamic vinaigrette. There's truly not one thing not to love about this little shop. I popped in to shop on my last day and it's a mini heaven for any gourmand. From wines and cheeses to high end groceries and those little finds that you didn't know you needed, but can no longer live without. Great little spot that I would be at all the time if i lived in the area but I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
I love a cute, tiny food market with fancy treats. Located right in the thick of the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, you won't find a wide selection like at Giant. But you'll find some amazing natural wines, dark chocolates and a small, but thoughtful selection of cheese. One of my favorite items to pick up here are the Bullfrog bagels located right by the counter. They often sell out, so the trick is to get there early before everyone snatches them up. I bought two bags and my family polished them off before the weekend even ended! The shop also carries other baked goods, like pies and other savories, of course not too far from the fresh fruits and vegetables. But clearly, you see what catches my eyes!

Yelp
Superior location. The Banh Mi sandwhich is great! Actually, everything is great! This place isn't snooty, it's just high class. Anyone complaining is used to dealing with minimum wage employees who don't care about the well-being of the venue. The owners here care, and want to ensure the best for everyone. Also, it's easy to find now unlike in the past, GPS and Google maps will take you right to it.. 3068 Mt Pleasant St. NanaDC watches is next door too.

Yelp
I literally stumbled upon this place, and I had to check it out just because of its name. When I waslked inside, that instinctive small market smell hit me immediately. This small market is the most unique market that I have ever been in, within the city. Ibthink the last time that I was in a place similar to this waswhen I was in the Shenandoah back countrybof Viriginia. There sat the entire family including the elderly grandmother who were all part of the family ownership. This place wasn't exactly like that, but it was close to it, right down to the old wooden floors. Most of the products that they have come from various farms, even as far as Pensylvania I was told. I wasn't completely hungry just yet but I thought that I would pick-up a sandwich for later. Since their sandwiches are all made to order, I decided on the aFoggy Bottom sandwich. It included sliced serrano, brie, and argula served on a toasted baguette. Everything about this place is awesome!

Yelp
Prefacing this with we all have different levels of disposable income. A bit expensive for me but maybe not for others. A little market with grocery items that are a tad fancy. If you need something for a dinner recipe they probably have it. They have premade food & sandwiches and other little grab and go treats. LGBTQ friendly. It is tight in here so it might be challenging to navigate for those with accessibility concerns. There is a ramp with a pull door to enter. I wish they had a day old/expiring soon section for folks at other income levels to enjoy their premade/bakery items.

Yelp
So much is packed inside this small market in one of my favorite D.C. neighborhoods, Mount Pleasant! All produce and meat are labeled with what city or state it came from. Last summer, they became D.C.'s first "Fair Food Sponsor," the first small independent grocery to commit to a farmworker human rights program, ensuring that farmworkers' rights are being implemented. I love browsing around and discovering some new brands. They carry one of my favorite drinks, Sanzo, a sparkling water company with Asian flavors. They also have speciality chocolate, wine, and you can find pantry staples from almost all over the world. Fun Mount Pleasant day idea: Go to the Bold Fork Books cooking book store next door, and then find ingredients at Each Peach and other markets down the street to cook up a new recipe! I've tried some of their sandwiches a few times and I like the Rock Creek Pork and pork banh are my favorite. (Wow, I guess I like pork ;) You can conveniently order ahead of time. Each Peach Market is a treat!

Yelp
Over-priced, a bit pretentious, and pretty unhelpful staff sometimes. Its there and sometimes the only place to grab something quick, grocery-wise, in that particular area, especially if it's gourmet, so I guess I'd rather have it than not. Tip for the store: carding nearly 40 year olds makes you look really annoying.

Yelp
This is a nice, clean grocery store in your friendly Mount Pleasant neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and prompt. They have wine and beer, a big selection of cheese, ready made foods and salads in addition to the usual grocery items. Attached a few pictures so you know what they sell here.

Yelp
We've never really shopped here, but we do go for the take out sandwiches. They are twice the price of Subway but three times as good!
google avatar

Courtney W.

Yelp
We ordered sandwiches for pickup on a Friday slightly after the normal lunch hour, and they were a solid choice! I went with The Newton and the Brie was perfectly melted in the sandwich, making this a delightfully enjoyable afternoon perk! We will definitely add this place to our normal lunch options- as made to order sandwiches of quality are something we crave! We also picked up a mixed bag of fresh bagels to try at home as well!

Yelp
This store is special. It's small, local and well curated. It's not going to replace your need to go to the big grocer. However I could live off it for many days in a row as it has good veggies, staples and sandwiches. Great staff. The world needs more like this in urban environments.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
A tad pricy, but the quality and selection for a boutique grocery is great. Wine selection and the descriptions are worth the time to read - someone is very thoughtful here. Enjoyed the cheese selection, great baguette, and other baked good. Definitely and elevated shop for those looking to treat themselves.

Yelp
I never know how to explain Each Peach to anyone, because it is not a corner store, it is not a deli, it is not a health foods store. It is a quirky little market with excellent produce (often from not too far away), what appears to be a robust cheese collection, a nice selection of wine and beer, and a coterie of sauces and grains and pastas and chocolates and other stuff like that. They also have baked goods and some house-made sandwiches. I love stopping by there to get things I don't really need; it is a joy.

Yelp
This looks like a classic cute deli straight out of a movie. We picked up a freshly baked baguette, some deli meats, and a small cube of cheese for an early lunch picnic. So so flavorful everything we picked up. They even threw in a few extra slices of a meat they just got in. DELICIOUS. later in the day we came back and picked up a couple bottles of wine and a vegan blueberry peach pie. Also phenomenal. A little pricey but worth it!

Yelp
Each Peach is a darling little market and deli in Mount Pleasant. Need some wine? Local brand of coffee? (Small Planes, Lost Sock, Ceremony Coffee all offered here!) Some freshly baked bread courtesy of Baked Joint (so you know it is GOOD)? They even have HALVAH which is hard to find. Each Peach carries a little bit of everything. It's hard to stop in without feeling like you just *need* to pick something up. On my most recent trip (yesterday), my friend suggested we get some deli sandwiches and go picnic. The options are plentiful and honestly all sound great! There's a Banh Mi, a beet and chimmichurri option (I was so intrigued), caprese, chicken salad, and lots more. I opted for the Newton which had turkey, arugula, tomato, Brie, and Dijon all on a toasted and pressed baguette. All sandwiches are between $7.50 - $9.50 so very affordable. Great service in this neighborhoody spot, too.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches, prepared foods, and other fancy treats! I pretty much always find something I want to eat here.

Yelp
They are great, responsible local market. So happy they added MDI ice cream! Deli Sandwiches

Katrina A.

Yelp
Each Peach Market provided cheese, fruit, and cruditee platters for our Open House of about 50 guests. Beth was extremely helpful in determining what might be appropriate as well as quantities needed. I left the choice of cheeses to the pros since all that they offer has been carefully curated. The platters were delivered as scheduled. The food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented, and glowing compliments were heard round the room. I would definitely use them again and recommend their products and service to friends.

Yelp
AMAZING BREAD and BAGUETTES. Literally worth going to just for those. The rosemary polenta sourdough bread and baguettes are particularly amazing (crust = wow). Apart from that, this place is like a mini-Whole Foods but one that you'll spend much, much less time at and less money, too. Not because it's cheap - it's actually quite expensive. But because it's small, you won't walk all over the store and buy things you don't need and that will expire before you think to eat or drink them. So it actually saves $ to shop at Each Peach. The produce is of fantastic quality -- organic, fresh, and as local as possible. The apples in particular are AWESOME. Better than you get at Whole Foods. Great yogurt and milk from local farms as well. The cinnamon granola made by Paisley Fig/Elle is a big hit, too. The cheeses are decent but very expensive. Things I wish they could do better: 1) offer a few more basic items - sparkling water, fresh meat and fish that isn't frozen, and more frozen pre-packaged food (their selection is super limited there); 2) lower the cheese prices to a more reasonable level. Overall recommend though.

Yelp
A local market with a great cheese, wine, and eclectic range of items. I first learned of the market after ordering delicious fresh sandwiches for lunch.
google avatar

Sol S.

Yelp
I love Each Peach, I love their produce, I love their sandwiches, their cheese selection is top notch, their beer and wine selection is interesting and their staff has always been helpful and informative. They are small but mighty! I almost forgot, their local ice cream selection always makes me happy.

Yelp
We just got our thanksgiving meal from here. Everything was dry and lacked flavor. Mashed potatoes were clumpy and also dry and flavorless like everything else. We followed the directions for heating carefully, we even ate it a couple hours after picking it up cause wanted to eat it for lunch. $175 for a 4 people meal. Don't get your holiday meals from here. I don't know about their other food. I don't usually comment on yelp but I don't want anyone else to be disappointed with their holiday meal in the future.I'm glad I didn't have guests this year , I would have been mortified to serve this thanksgiving meal to others.

Yelp
So I shop here a lot. I've bought charcuterie cheese etc a lot. I've spent all told thousands of dollars over the years and a number of times have gotten $200 of charcuterie or cheese. Customer service never been the strongest suit. Today I went on line to order cheese and charcuterie for s 50th birthday brunch for 60 people. They carry things (I know) like finochiona, that weren't on line. So I called to place the order. The woman who answered said I had to place order on line. I explained it was a big order , and I wanted things I know they have but weren't on like. She said "just put that in your on line message". I explained I wanted to talk to someone about what they had in stock so I could make my choices. She didn't say call back later, or someone will get back to you. She just kept repeating put it in on line. Finally I said if no one could talk to me. I'd just order from someone else. She said "order from someone else then," and hung up. She was. On speaker and the 10 year old listening to her said she was so rude.

Yelp
Check out the deli counter, pronto. I've lived in mt pleasant for almost two years now and casually dismissed each peach as an overpriced designer grocery store up until today. I would quickly dip and grab some cheese or ice cream jubilee pints and then leave. I'm wrong and I feel stupid. The unassuming deli counter maybe small but serves hot, delicious deli sandwiches for less than ten dollars per sandwich. There's no plain old, dedicated american diner or deli in mtp or Columbia heights for all I know that isn't a brunch joint which is frustrating because sometimes a girl just wants a no frills sandwich without having to pay brunch prices. The dude this was exactly what I wanted. No, it's not the best sandwich you've ever had but it's a very good one and it's on point for the price. Highlights: Adequate meat. No skimping here. Fresh, creamy mozz- they're playing their a-game here. Portion size is on point- it's not jumbo but it's not scrawny either. No need for sides. Ingredients are sourced from the premium products they sell behind the counter - no generic sub roll, iceberg lettuce, or sysco food service condiments. If I had to complain it wasn't generic enough to invoke the nostalgia of going to a Baltimore or nyc Italian deli counter. But are we really going to complain about that? No, I'm not. And to give their groceries credit - it maybe a small store but unlike a generic coop with too many aisles of homeopathic remedies and four variations of brown rice, they have those essential, hard to find groceries for a fantastic homemade meal. I've spotted pomegranate molasses and guanchiale - does your corner grocery have guanchiale? I don't think so.

Yelp
Five stars for COVID safety and precautions and keeping the sandwich menu! My partner was sad that the banh mi is off the menu but the rock creek pork is a mainstay. Love that we can order online and do an almost no-touch pickup. We've tried to recreate the sesame noodles with the NYT recipe with no luck, they are delicious! The prepared food at the peach is great but always check the date, sometimes the "best by" date is a little longer than one would want for purchased prepared food (I would suggest giving to the employees on the last day and cutting a day off the "best by"). Fresh produce is always good and often cheaper than the farmer's market but with some vendor overlap I think. The other items...I mean you're definitely paying a premium for convenience. Price gouging, maybe, but hey...that's capitalism.

Yelp
Walked in here randomly after passing by it on the way to breakfast. We walked in and the were impressed with the amount and range of items that the Market had. Baked goods, beer and wine, fresh produce, gourmet items and cheese and cold cuts. The staff was friendly; we walked in and a staff member asked us if we needed anything. We were just browsing and the local produce was fresh and cheap. We looked around and a lot of the items were really affordable or comparable to larger chains, a few of the items were more expensive but the majority of the store is really affordable. I also got the banh mi to eat and I was happily surprised, even a few hours later it was still really good. I don't know if it's a place that I would come to for regular grocery runs but for produce, and smaller gourmet items it seems like a great choice.
google avatar

Aditi D.

Yelp
they have been really great and strict on covid restrictions, super necessary for such a small store. i tried their sandwiches for the first time recently, which are so good! loved the tofu banh mi - just wished it had a 'lil mayo or sauce to balance - but the bread and marinated tofu were fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a great experience here. To sum up my visit, I wrote the following haiku: Neighborly greetings Shelves teeming with fresh delights (Foodie) heaven does exist
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
I drop in to shop for a treat - be it $9 hand churned butter with sea salt flakes from Vermont with a fresh baguette or La Fermière yogurt (cos I can never have too many of their yogurt pots). The fresh baked good, cheese selection, diary case, and deli meats are wonderful to peruse and check out. The produce section has some great gems including seasonal fruits and veggies. This is a great place to shop for food gifts as well.
google avatar

Theresa W.

Yelp
Like a very small Yes! with a really nice deli counter. Everything is somewhat to very expensive though there's the occasional bargain on local produce, and their housemade pate in a little jar is super reasonable. In addition to various fancy charcuterie, they sell sandwiches at the deli counter (recommend the chicken salad) and stock their refrigerated area with made in house soups and salads. They've got lots of baked goods, breads (though they sometimes run out), and a small but obviously curated selection of wines, beers, and ciders. On the weekend, they usually have baked goods and donuts from local shops for sale until they run out.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
TWICE in the last 4 days i've walked into this store and twice have been spoken to by staff with a snooty attitude. They are lucky we are going through a pandemic and their business seems to be doing well. I however, am not giving them one more cent. Aside from their arrogant attitude, it definitely feels like they are price gouging. For a small pie enough for one person they are charging $12.00. i would much rather give my money to www.igourmet.com or drive to Rodman's on Wisconsin who does circles around them when it comes to service, price and selection.
google avatar

Yelp
Each Peace is a small, good looking market catering to the urban professional who cares to buy local and organic foods. It's one small room on Mt Pleasant Street just three blocks from the Columbia Heights Metro. Each Peach Market sells anything from local chocolate to high quality artisan coffee and everything in between including produce, canned goods, etc. They also serve as a pick up spot for a local CSA. It's a little pricey compared to nearby Giant or Safeway, but if you live close, it's a fun place to visit.
google avatar

Erica W.

Yelp
Cute place with really friendly people! I was pleasantly surprised with the nice selection of produce, dairy, spices, sauces, meats, fresh bread, flowers and local art. I think the prices were in line with big business (and the sad, overpriced bodegas around the corner from me), so I disagree with other comments about prices. For instance, $3.50 for a three-pack of organic Romaine hearts and $2.50 for a large baguette. I will definitely be back!!!
google avatar

Chantel B.

Yelp
I'm never coming to this store ever again. This is just another gentrification chic store in the middle of Mt Pleasant with unpleasant workers who are indifferent at best and blatantly rude at worst to non-white customers. I've come into this store multiple times and I've had staff members push past me, reach around me, and generally ignore my presence in the store until I pull out my card to pay, but today was the last straw. I went in today to pick up some of their bread and an elderly Black woman was asking for a receipt because her employer would give her a hard time without it. The cashier serving her became increasingly aggressive with her because they didn't understand what she was asking and kept yelling at her that the machine that prints receipts was broken. When another associate came to assist, the cashier abruptly turned away from the woman and blatantly ignored her trying to thank them for their "assistance". There are so many other markets to choose from on this strip and I will not patronize such a blatantly anti-anyone-but-white space.

Yelp
Love these little shops that are sprouting up all over DC. Each Peach is definitely one of the (even) better ones. I absolutely needed baby root vegetables, which I know sounds ridiculous but there you have it. Did you know how hard it is to find damn baby root vegetables? Amazingly difficult. Each Peach was my last resort, although it should have been my first stop. They have a beautiful fridge with a wide variety of veg in all the colors of the rainbow. I managed to find some adorable, bright pink baby turnips and vibrant golden beets. Snapped up some semolina and gawked at everything else (local meats and so much more!) for a few minutes before I vowed to be back soon. If you're in the Mount Pleasant area I total envy you. Such gorgeous freshness awaits you here. Now, it's cooking time!

Yelp
The basil infused olive oil gets 5 stars. Customer service: it's good enough. Everything else is meh. The sandwiches: meh. I had the Newton with turkey, brie, arugula and spicy mustard served on a baguette. Liked the baguette but would have liked it alot more without the mustard. Arugula already has a peppery flavor. The pungency of the mustard becomes stronger with every bite. The brioche buns: meh. The chicken salad: dry and bland until I turned it into curry chicken salad. Mint brownie: meh! Short version: the olive oil is the bomb and the baguettes are too.

Yelp
Each Peach is a really cool little place, except for the staff there are awful. I walked in recently, early one morning, right as they opened, with only one other customer in the store. After finally deciding to finish up(everything there is very interesting!), I went to check out. There were two employees having a conversation behind the register, and one proceeds to ring me up. Without any consideration that a customer should be acknowledged, they just continue to talk about whatever. I brought in a bottle to return, and placed it on the counter, mentioning it is for the return. The girl took it, didn't even look at me, and continued with her important conversation. I'm pretty blown away by the lack of attention to your second customer of the day. These young hipsters need to get a grip....that's just rude to not acknowledge someone. I think a little mom-and-pop shop is great, and I think the quality of their stuff is pretty good. Prices are decent, and the location is convenient for the area. But the WORST customer service!! If you don't care about annoying hipsters, it's worth the trip for the romanesco and fresh rosemary, but don't expect anyone to greet you!
google avatar

Alicia O.

Yelp
Cashiers were not at all and in any way friendly. If you are going to be a small "mom and pop shop" in a tight knit community, be friendly. one of the ladies stacking the shelves seemed friendly but I didn't get a hello, a thanks, a have a good night, a anything... so I won't be back. I can pay $5 for a small bag of rice on 14th Street.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Just got a caprese sandwich here that was terrible. I threw it away it tasted so bad. Seems like a cool place but the sandwich was gross.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
this joint is prtty tight- literally n figuratively. bougie lil market for ur organic fruits n snacks n ingredients. they hav some insane pies for sale and also come here if im tryna do a quality charcuterie. or make a traditional carbonara i mostly only come here to pickup the chicken salad sandwich - i DONT recommendation their iteration of a Banh Mi go elsewhere for a Banh Mi
google avatar

Tony J.

Yelp
This is one of the coziest (I think that's a word) small grocery store in DC! Great place to meet your neighbors & they have great coffee, wines, veggies
google avatar

Reana K.

Yelp
Love having this little hidden gem of a seasonal/sustainable/organic grocery store in the neighborhood! Lots of fresh produce year-round, much (maybe all?) of which comes from a cooperative of Lancaster County PA farms, modest selection of dry goods/dairy/frozen, in addition to a beer/wine shelf and a deli/soup counter. To go soups, sandwiches, and to-go dishes are delicious and affordable, definitely worth a try. For a small place, they really cram a lot into there! Prices are a bit high, but not beyond what you'd expect for any small market, let alone a small market with quality food standards. Each Peach is also a pickup spot for the Smucker Farms CSA share (which comes from the aforementioned Lancaster Co. Cooperative).
google avatar

Marina L.

Yelp
I went to Each Peach on 5/9/20 Let me just begin by saying that I can't even recall when I was treated so rude at a store, let alone a neighborhood store. The sign by the cashier said, Don't touch if you are not going to buy it! I should've snapped a picture of it. Seriously. What happened to the tone? A live person might snap at you due to stress or their own issues, but when you put a sign, you have time to think about the language you're going to use. Speaking of snapping. The whole experience was just so unpleasant that it left me with a pit in my stomach. There's a line to get inside, it's how it is now, we all get it. When I joined the line, there were only 6 people in front of me, and I waited about 25-30 minutes to get in. The cashier, an Asian girl (I'm using this to identify the person, nothing else. I'm Asian myself.) was so extremely rude to me and then to the next customer, that it just left me speechless and unprepared to address it on the spot. We were trying to be considerate and quick and not hold the line of people still waiting outside. When I pointed out that the item she just ran costs almost twice of what the price tag says, she just quickly looked at the label in the fridge and said, it's probably sold out, do you want it? I bought it, because I felt bad. The total time I spent inside the store was 5 minutes. While I was looking at things at the store, she was using very short phrases like, Are you done? in a very unpleasant tone. And when the next customer came in, she basically told me to leave. It's one customer at at time! The TONE!!! She used the words "please" and "thank you" exactly ZERO times, while just rushing customers with her unfriendly attitude. Believe me, I know the difference between neutral, polite and unfriendly. No consideration for the fact that people spent a long time to get to this store to give them business. Since when did we start treating customers like that? Especially when the prices for ALL items, including the very ordinary (not gourmet or artisanal) are at least twice as high. I heard some other customer say, this store is doing price gouging in this situation. It was my first time there, I waited in line for a long time, I was determined to check it out and support the local shop. It's not like there're no other stores to buy food, of course I prefer to walk a mile to Trader Joe's where there's always a friendly and warm atmosphere, and that transfers to customers. These are difficult times, and essential workers are stressed out, and so are we. We are all in this together, and we'll pull through! It's easier to do if we treat each other with respect. The attitude and prices at Each Peach don't reflect that.

Yelp
Small but curated selection of produce, snacks, sauces, drinks, and alcohol.

Yelp
A great little market in Mt Pleasant that sells tasty sandwiches though, since it's a grocery store, there's no place to sit inside or out. I can't speak for all of the sandwiches, but The Dude is a tasty, typical Italian cold cuts with fresh mozzarella, arugula, and a balsamic drizzle. Though it's simple, straightforward, and not about to win any visual style points, Each Peach uses quality ingredients, from the delicious, toasted bread, to the use of arugula instead of spinach or lettuce. Even the Italian meats are more than your typical deli meat: they're slightly thicker and full of flavor other than salt. I'm not sure I'd make a detour all the way up to Mt Pleasant, but I would likely return if I found myself in the area again. As for the grocery aspect: it's certainly small, but it's well curated and the produce looks about as fresh as you can find outside a farmer's market. The selection of non-produce is more "additive" than "staple," but this is the type of place you go to for a jar of preserves you can't find elsewhere or a cheese that puts your partyplatter over the edge. Reason for downgrade (should really be 4.5 stars and not 4) to be honest, it's because they forgot to add one of the ingredients to my sandwich. I didn't realize it until later, but for a ~5 ingredient sandwich, seems like something that should be remembered. Other notes: at the time I was there, only one person was running the shop. Between them making my sandwich and other customers coming in, it kind of made a small hassle. Eventually another work came in (they may have been dealing with incoming deliveries) and it relieved things, but know that a small backup can occur. Price for sandwich is a little high, but not egregiously so. Maybe about right given perceived quality of ingredients.

Yelp
Had the Newton sandwich which had good quality bread. The brie was great but the turkey was a little dry. The mini cheese sandwich with the tomato was nasty and tasted like some crappy lunches I suffered through in middle school :(

Yelp
First time here, even advised the sandwich maker. Was looking to have a good sandwich. Quaint, cozy "gourmet style" with a pleasant staff. Order the Park Rd., Parisien sandwich and the sandwich board stated that all sandwiches come on a French baguette. While the baguette was relatively tasty, it really wasn't a sandwich... It was more a French baguette served with a very thin layer of deli style ham and a spattering of arugula. Truly the taste was overpowered by the baguette as a result of very little meat on the sandwich and no cheese which I thought came with it, despite the pretty hefty $8.50 price tag. The listed charcuterie board options sound like a win, but don't go here for the sandwiches.

Yelp
The sandwiches rank higher because of the bread, which is very high quality, with real chewiness, flavor and substance. The Dude is a good Italian sandwich with equally high quality cured meats. The "gourmetification" of this sandwich is quite successful. Will ask for more hot peppers next time. The banh mi is freaking bizarre. Please do not call it banh mi when it's actually filled with French country pâté with an overpowering liverwurst-like flavor. Maybe if it were sold AS a French pâté sandwich with -some- Vietnamese style pickled vegetables, it wouldn't be such a problem. But it is nothing like a banh mi. One side was smeared with the smooth pâté, the other with the coarse kind--I kept thinking I was biting into something dirty and gave up on trying to pretend I was eating a "banh mi." They seem to have a good and very reasonably priced wine selection. I saw an organic Negroamaro for 13-15 or so that I'd love to try next time. I'm glad this store is in the neighborhood and I'm sure I'll continue to find delicious items--their produce looks wonderful--to offset the depressing options available at the Superfresh that's closer to where I live. Addendum: I thought I might give the banh mi one more chance by ordering it without pâté. It was even worse. The roasted pork is cut way too thick, and they use PICKLED jalapenos, not fresh. The vinegar in the pickled vegetables was overpowering. This is a truly disgusting sandwich, no matter how it's prepared.

Yelp
I bought a sandwich from their place for around 9 dollars, and for what I got it was definitely NOT worth the money or time. My sandwich was literally a roll with one single slice of meat and a little garnish. The irony of it all is that the each peach is not located in an upscale neighborhood where you can easily over charge. Rather it's located in a lower middle class neighbor with prices that are not suitable for the people actually living there . This place is perfect however if your a thriving middle class hipster who loves "non gmo" and "free range meat". If you honestly want quality products at a good cost and actually have a family to support just shop at Safeway. The free of cruelty and gmo bs is not worth the extra 5 bucks on top of the average cost. Oh and that pathetic sandwich is down below
