Best Restaurants in Fredericksburg, Texas | Eater Austin

"The Fredericksburg restaurant offers Central Texas barbecue with Korean touches, such as tender, smoky pork ribs with a slightly sweet gochujang, kimchi fried rice, and a refreshing Korean cucumber salad. It’s hard to tire of the menu here, but if you want to switch things up, consider one of its specials, which include raspberry-chipotle pork belly burnt ends on Saturdays and Korean fried rib bowls. Inside is spacious, but if you’re looking for a little Texas sun with your barbecue, stake out a spot on its friendly front patio. Takeout orders can be placed in person." - Brittany Britto Garley

This was our first time to Eaker, and it did not disappoint! The excellent - moist brisket, bulgogi sausage, the Mac and cheese. Honestly, one of my top 5 Mac and cheeses ever... and I'm a Mac and cheese snob! Super cheesy and creamy. The brisket is traditional Texas style, but it was executed well. The great- kimchi fried rice, Korean marinated cucumbers, gochujang ribs. The fried rice is definitely good, but I don't quite understand the hype. Good side, not exceptionally noteworthy. TLDR: get the brisket, bulgogi sausage, and Mac and cheese. Can't go wrong with anything else, but those are the must haves!

Babbbbyyyyy, if you’re thinking about going, GO NOW! It was delicious. The brisket was so tender and literally falling apart. We tried so many different things. I loved the dry rub ribs and sausage, my favorite side was the creamed corn. I didn’t get photos of the sides, but we had beans, Mac and cheese, and rice! My husband and I ended up getting 2 sides of that corn though. lol the banana pudding was fire too! Will definitely return next time we visit.

Eaker Barbecue in Fredericksburg is a must-try if you're craving bold flavors! First visit blew me away-brisket so smoky and tender it melted, with that Korean-Texas twist stealing the show. Loved the sides so much, I went back a second time, loaded up on more mac and kimchi. The meat was just as good as first time but the sides weren't great this round-mac was soggy, kimchi too bland, and they didn't hold up for leftovers. Kinda bummed, but the meat's still top-tier. For now, I'm sticking with Junebugs bbq, but I will give them a third shot at Eaker since sometimes businesses have off days and that’s okay! Worth a visit! Owners are good people & staff are nice! Recommend this place 👍

Bar B Q SO GOOD YOU WILL CRY! These cuts of meats and sides are a masterclass in preperation. The brisket was marbled with perfect amounts of fat that was juicy yet didnt overpower the taste of the meat which was top layered with the crispiest skin. The kimchi rice and potato salad was so delicate and flavorful. Delicious! The bar b q sauce could be eaten on its own it is so good. I have celiacs disease so the gluten free menu and prep of food was done in front of you with top standards.

We loved this place! Excellent BBQ, including some with a Korean twist. We tried the brisket, the gochujang ribs, and the bulgogi sausage. All were terrific. The “moist” brisket was smoked perfectly, nice smoke flavor and smoke ring, and oh so juicy. The Korean ribs and sausage were different, but in a good way. We’re not huge fans of thick sauces on meat, but the ribs worked, super tender, fall off the bone! Grateful for the ample supply of napkins at the table! 😁 We had beans and slaw for side, both delicious! Even the garnishes of pickles and pickled onions were first-class. Very good homemade BBQ sauce too. Super friendly owners and staff. Great meal. Highly recommend!

The highlight is the Korean-style side dishes (banchan) and the kimchi fried rice(김치볶음밥). The gochujang-glazed ribs were especially delicious. As for the Texas barbecue, it’s solid, but pretty much standard Texas BBQ.

Wow – this BBQ is excellent and some of the tastiest BBQ we have ever eaten! Eaker is conveniently located on W. Main St. near S. Bowie St. Such a great menu with neat items such Brisket Boudin, Smoked Tallow, Tasty Pork, Slow Smoked Brisket and Boozy Banana Pudding. We had the Smoked Pork Sausage, Cole Slaw, Mac-N-Cheese, Potato Salad and Stuffed Baked potato – all absolutely perfect! You will not leave hungry – that is for sure. The decor is very family-friendly, and they have a large shaded outdoor eating area as well. You can also check out their custom-made smoker pits too. We highly recommend this BBQ and we will be returning this August with our family. Salute!

They had just sold out of their wagyu brisket I was disappointed. This was at 1: 30p I got the bulgogi sausage and the jalapeno cheddar sausage. The jalapeno is good, the bulgogi sausage has a fine ground texture but I was expecting more. There parking is horrible,we nearly got ran over
