East Fork Pottery Is Opening in Brooklyn | Eater NY

"I've followed an Asheville-based pottery brand, East Fork, known for its social-media-famous “everyday bowls” and chunky-rimmed ceramics, and it's opening its first store outside the South at 377A Atlantic Avenue (between Bond and Hoyt streets) this fall — the brand announced the news on Instagram. Since launching in 2009, East Fork has built a loyal following thanks to limited-edition colorways that inspired a cult of collectors and an active resale market; the brand also runs “seconds sales” for less-than-perfect items at a discount. A Certified B Corporation, it’s beloved for transparency around its pricing, operating policies, and politics. East Fork has appeared at restaurants like Charleston’s Husk and Asheville’s Good Hot Fish and leaned into partnerships with food and home brands such as Momofuku, Samin Nosrat, Diaspora Co., Fishwife, and Schoolhouse. This will be the company’s third store (it already operates locations in North Carolina and Georgia) plus a factory space not open to the public; follow the store’s Instagram for updates." - Bettina Makalintal

Exchange policy for gifts is nonsensical. We got a gift in the original East Fork shipping box. Unused bowls and we tried to exchange for a different color. Can’t be done… need proof of the original order which would require asking the gifter who we do not want to embarrass. Maybe rethink your policy with an understanding of gifting dynamic. The lady at the store tried to help and was quite nice. Manager on the phone reiterated the policy and did not find a solution.

I have been an East Fork fan for years and am thrilled they have a storefront in Brooklyn now. Run don’t walk and grab all the Everyday Bowls and Mugs. They will become your go to, everyday, for a reason. Top quality, beautiful products that add personality and delight to your kitchen wares and rituals.

Gorgeous and super functional pottery (haven’t broken any pieces yet!). I have pieces in many colors and always look forward to their seasonal colors. East Fork is also a wonderful values-centered business that seems to very much care about its employees and its community. I stopped in today and it is so wonderful to have East Fork in Brooklyn (only a few blocks from my place!).

The employees who work here are very nice but two stars because of negligence. I have been to this store three times in three weeks before and after Christmas for what has felt like a never ending saga. Tried to purchase beautiful utensils sets as a gift for someone who loves the East Fork brand and many of their ceramics. Had to keep returning because there was a problem each time with the products. First had to return because they mixed up four sets between vintage and polished finish, then had to return because one of the sets was missing a utensil. CRAZY Considering how expensive and high quality the products are, didn’t expect this lack of attention to detail of what they let you walk away with. The employees were nice and helped to replace the sets but I personally will be back here. Money saved on shipping fees is not worth the time lost for fixing mistakes of the in-person experience. Major bummer for gift giving as well.

Best pottery (plus) store I think I’ve ever been to with an amazing selection of items, picked up a couple of beautiful blue bowls and some gourmet popcorn. Very nice service. Really worth a visit.
