Dumplings, bao, bubble tea, sweet chili ribs, honey lemon tea
"East Wind is known for its plump, excellent dumplings. If you’ve never tried them, you can now do so in your pajamas at home. Most things on the menu cost less than $10, so you might as well throw in a few pork belly buns, shrimp dumplings, and a Hong Kong hot cake. Their Carroll Gardens and Windsor Terrace locations are both open for takeout and delivery starting at noon. Go online to place your delivery order, or call 347-889-5717 for Carroll Gardens and 929-295-0188 for Windsor Terrace." - team infatuation

"East Wind Snack Shop is your best bet for a solid dim sum-style meal without venturing over to Sunset Park’s Chinatown. The menu, like the space, is concise but well curated. Grab a counter seat and get an order of pan-fried juicy pork buns and Incredible Har Gow, which show up to the party dressed in a lacy skirt with a drizzle of abalone sauce. East Wind is a good local lunch-break spot for days when you need to step away from your screen. " - carina finn koeppicus
"A New York snack-shop owner developed a refined, hands-on method for making the classic candy—drawing on skills from hand-pulled noodles, adjusting rope length and pull height, and honing timing and heat to produce superior texture—and can reportedly transform a single candy rope into about 12,000 strands in 10–12 pulls. He emphasizes that subtle factors like rope length, pull height, cooking temperature, and local climate (humidity, dampness) radically affect the outcome, has shared the craft online with a video that drew tens of thousands of views, and notes that while interest spikes around Chinese New Year due to nostalgia, the confection remains a niche item in much of the West." - Tiffany Leigh
"If you want a solid dim sum-style meal without leaving Windsor Terrace, East Wind Snack Shop is your best bet. The menu here is small, but almost everything on it is worth trying. The pan-fried juicy pork buns are on par with some of the best in the city, and the “Incredible Har Gow” show up to the party dressed in a luxurious lacy skirt with a drizzle of abalone sauce. They have a few larger plates too, as well as an assortment of drinks that includes a solid honey lemon tea. Keep in mind, though, that the menu at the Windsor Terrace shop is substantially different from their Carroll Gardens location where they make their famous dragon’s beard candy. Food Rundown Pan Fried Juicy Pork Dumplings They grind their own dumpling meat at East Wind Snack Shop, and these pan fried pork dumplings are the perfect vehicles to showcase the quality and care this place puts into their food. The juicy filling is so flavorful you won’t even need dipping sauce. The Incredible Har Gow If you want to see a dumpling skirt done right, get these har gow. They’re so delicate that it’s easy to crush an order or two before moving on to heartier fare. Sweet Chili Ribs The perfect dish for when you want exactly four bites of fall-off-the-bone rib meat. These are sweet, a tad spicy, and super tender. The jasmine rice they’re served on feels like a bit of an afterthought, but that’s forgivable." - Carina Finn
