Amazing food. Incredibly delicious from start (Golden Bags,Sriracha Shrimp) to Entrees(Yellow Chicken Curry/Shrimp Pad See Ew) to the amazing and Icy Hot Dessert(Mango Sticky Rice). The mango was icy cold and the sticky rice was hot with the light coconut sauce not too sweet just perfect! Incredible Thai Iced Tea and will be coming back for more.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Bay Area! Definitely worth the stop if you are in the area, promise you won't be disappointed with these tantalizing flavors and attentive service.

Google
Eat at Thai has always been a go to on DoorDash for me, but the other day after a Berkeley graduation I went in at 11 pm. I was seated right away and catered to immediately. The food was so good and fresh even for the time of night. The staff at that time was ran by just 1 woman who I saw was balancing the DoorDash orders and hosting 4 other tables as well. She made sure that everyone was refilled and satisfied while not having dashers wait either. Eat at Thai will always be a place I will be a customer at.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn Express next door and needed to get dinner so walked over and practically had the place to myself. I felt a little bad for them having few customers but I really enjoyed everything. I kept it simple and just ordered pad Thai with chicken and it was perfect. I definitely recommend this restaurant whether you’re staying at the hotel or not - it’s definitely worth a visit!

Google
I can’t say enough about how amazing this Thai restaurant is! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional—our server was friendly, and they made great recommendations. The food was flavorful and fresh; the Panang curry had a rich coconut base with just the right amount of heat, and the Thai iced tea was a perfect complement. The ambiance was lovely—elegant and tranquil, with beautiful Thai decorations that set a relaxing mood. It’s a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality Thai cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere.

Google
The restaurant smelled horrible & that should have been a sign but some people from the neighborhood raved so I tried a to go order. They were wrong. The food wasn't fresh. & the flavors were lacking. I ended up tossing it out for fear of getting sick because 1 item was fried. I think people who find it good must also be dirty. Highly disappointed.

Google
NUT WARNING! I ordered late night from this restaurant for my friend who has a nut allergy. Turns out the Pa-Nang Curry has nuts in it even though the description did not provide that detail. She’s now suffering from swollen lips, swollen tongue, red itchy rash all over face, body, arms and chest. 😡 There was not an option to put in the food allergy or leave a note to request no nuts. Only “call to inform of allergies” and they didn’t answer the phone. SO SKETCHY!!!

I normally ask for extra extra extra meat, and I have been happy every time! Food is great and so is the Thai Coffee!!!

Yelp
I've always ordered delivery, but finally dined in on a late night with a friend, the service was excellent. The tom kha was velvety and delicious. I don't typically like Thai papaya salad. I prefer the Cambodian or Laos style better, but it wasn't bad here. I always order the pad see ew, and they never disappoint!

Yelp
Yikes. Ordered a shrimp (prawn) salad to go. When I got home and opened the box, there's not much inside. My 12 pound small dog could finish this and still be hungry. And worst of all, there was only TWO shrimps. What the helly :(

Yelp
Great food! Staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations! Nice spot to grab some Thai food to dine in or take out.

Yelp
It was 10pm on a weekday night, we hadn't eaten yet, and we craved Asian food. Usually it's Korean or Thai for late-night Asian eats. This time, we opted for the latter... but at 10pm, even our go-tos were closed. I decided to do a good ol' filtered Yelp search and found Eat At Thai. We did notice the average reviews but decided to give it a shot for delivery. From my experience, even so-so late evening Thai restaurants usually deliver on flavor. Unfortunately, overall, this experience with Eat At Thai really missed the mark for us. What we ordered: Pad Eggplant: This was pretty disappointing. The eggplant didn't have the vibrant purple and crisp we've experienced in countless Southeast Asian stir fry dishes across the Bay. Instead, it was dull in color and had gone soggy, along with the onions. The texture and flavor balance were off, and it lacked the brightness and depth we expect from Thai stir-fries. It felt flat, and we felt we probably could've quickly put together a better stir fry within the time we waited for the order. Tom Kha Soup: The flavors and consistency seemed far too light. It tasted watered down and lacked richness. The chicken was overcooked, and the soup felt sparse, missing the solids and heartiness you'd expect from Tom Kha. This was another big miss in our book unfortunately. Som Tum Salad: This was okay and our favorite of the three. It was very light on flavor but worked okay as a simple, lighter salad. The shrimp, however, tasted bland as a result, and we still wish there were more seasoning and flavors in the dish. Overall: The meal overall leaned far too light on flavor, and the execution seemed subpar. While the salad was okay, the soup and stir-fry left a lot to be desired. Especially for price. I really dislike writing critical reviews, but our experience here did not feel worth the money. I should note though that the Bay really raised the bar on Thai food, so a subpar experience like this one tends to stand out. That said, Eat At Thai's late-night hours are a plus, and if we were to order here again, we would probably opt for safer options like Pad Thai, fried rice, and wings.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, service was great, ambiance was differently weird. Overall, I would come back to try.

Yelp
I don't normally write reviews. But this was so bad I had to. I just ordered chicken laarb and to say it nicely I basically got lettuce with a sprinkle of chicken... the picture says it all. Wish there was an option for 0 stars. Worst portion size I have ever received from an establishment. It was like $16 for this....
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
I can't believe yall are charging $18 for this! And it didn't come with rice or the steak sauce. First time and I drove from Oakland to try it but I won't be going back.

Yelp
I love a late night food option! Finding food in the wee hours can be difficult, so I appreciate places that stay open past midnight! This spot happens to close at 2am, has nice vibrant ambience and I think the food was good enough to make it one of my late night go to's. I ordered the tempura sriracha shrimp and they were tasty! We also had the garlic and pepper ribs and I thought they were pretty good too, could be meatier, but tasty nonetheless. I ultimately chose this place because of the hours, but also because I was craving Pad Thai and I have to say I was a little disappointed by it. It had a slightly burnt taste to it, though the noodles weren't burnt at all, making me think they must've been fried in a burnt pan. It was late at night after all, maybe they didn't want to wash a new pan, however they should be aware that taste will transfer to perfectly good food if they don't switch pans. The taste bothered me so much I took one bite and didn't touch the rest. I also ordered the crab fried rice and at $21 dollars wasn't very impressed by that either unfortunately. It felt like it was missing something/lacking flavor, so I probably won't order that again. All in all, some things were a hit, while others missed and that's okay, it happens. I'll likely give it another try next time I'm looking for a late bite in Berkeley.

Yelp
Very comfortable restaurant. Love the tables and chairs. Nice ambiance. Service is good, with friendly staff. Food was served within a reasonable amount of time. It was delicious and taste good! Definitely recommend this place when you are in Berkeley, CA!

Yelp
Food is terrible, everything is bland and overpriced for the small portions offered. ambiance is ok, but serivce is not the best either.

Yelp
Overall service was great. My chicken pad Thai was delicious especially after a long night of driving. My experience couldn't have gone better. Went in about 11pm and the ambiance wasn't too bad. They are available For pick up or dine in. ‍

Yelp
Second time here n the past two years. Ordered the duck noodle soup. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as the last time I was here. Vegetables were over cooked and there were several pieces of cartilage in the broth that I had to pick out while eating. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice but playing rap/pop music in a Thai restaurant is very strange.

Yelp
We ordered with Uber. Pad Thai and pad see ew. I've been eating Thai food for decades. These are the two worst dishes I've ever had. The beef tastes like it's been left out for months before they cooked it. Once cooked, it's hard and smells funny. The pad thai has no taste to it. It is like they steamed the noodles and then threw some old veggies on it. Unless they are making effort to change something, I recommend you avoid this place!!!

Yelp
Eating here was one of the strangest dining experiences I've had. From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall. The inside is nicer except for the Xmas decorations in June. The food was ok except that they brought the wrong spring rolls and my friend couldn't eat them. They also brought the appetizer and main course at the same time. The odd part was how noisy is was. They were playing very loud music, multiple TVs were playing sports, there was a doorbell that went off every few minutes, and some people at another table were really loud. The atmosphere is more like a sports bar than a restaurant. It was oddly stressful and I couldn't wait to leave. I won't ever go there again.

Yelp
Was craving Thai food late at night, so I went to Eat at Thai. When I walked in I was greeted right away and my order was taken quickly. I ordered my go to of Pad Thai with tofu and at a medium spicy level. My order took about 10 minutes to arrived and it was delicious! The tofu tasted great and it's definitely leans authentic Thai food, which means it's spicier than what most Americans consider to "mild" and is a stronger spiciness level. Aside from my the food, the space is great. It's a big restaurant with plenty of dark wooded tables and chairs and nice lighting. So it's a good spot to bring s date, group of friends or family. Also have to highlight that it's one of the few actual restaurants in Berkeley (that's not a bar/dance club) with legit late night. Eat at Thai is open past midnight, which is helpful and rare. I will definitely come back here to try more of their dishes.

Janice Y.

Yelp
I ordered food delivered from Eat at Thai's for the first time yesterday. I am glad to say that it arrived in pristine condition: neatly boxed, still warm, and attractive to the eye. As a vegan I ordered veggie spring rolls and praram with tofu and extra vegetables. Both tasted fresh and delicious. Big plus that they kept the spiciness level of the praram low at my request and added so many colorful vegetables. Finally, I appreciated that the food came in paper boxes, but I guess the restaurant is located in Berkeley, so that makes (good) sense! I will definitely try this restaurant again in the future.

Yelp
The servers are so cool and chill and nice!! Food comes out really fast and the food is super yummy!!!

Yelp
This food so buss the waiter is also so chill, I come here whenever other places close and the food is so yum. Yumdotcom

Yelp
WHEN: 10/16/22 PARKING: lots of ample parking, restaurant itself stands alone so don't need to worry about busy lot Decided to come try this cute Thai restaurant in west Berkeley because of it's convenient location and inviting decorations. Arrived around 6pm on a Sunday and the place was pretty empty. They serve the usual dishes you would see in a Thai restaurant in America but they have a very extensive menu, something for everyone! What we got: N2. Pad See Ew ($11.95) -- sweet and spicy with a nice charred flavor to the noodles! Hit the spot C3. Yellow Curry ($12.95) -- bright coconut flavors and a good amount of chicken provided! Be careful if you don't like spicy bc they made this one super spicy (bonus points for the heart shaped rice) Overall solid Thai place if you're looking for something cheap and easy! I will say the food took a really long time to come out for 3 dishes (30+ minutes and no one else was in the restaurant). Service was excellent plus they let us each redeem the free Thai tea with a Yelp check in!

Yelp
I bought tempura shrimp 3 of my shrimp was no shrimp Nothing but crust and it was cooked in old grease they didn't even want to give me a partial refund
google avatar

Yelp
Be warned: If you have a butter-mouth, like me? Their "mild" is absolutely NOT mild. I do enjoy a low level of heat. But I ordered some "mild" eggplant curry, and the heat level made it impossible to eat it. If you like really spicy meals this restaurant is a good option. If not, you should probably take a pass. They don't seem to be able to do anything less than totally fiery.

Yelp
The drunken flat noodles with Prawn was on point. The service was great. Our appetizers were brought out first, followed by our main dishes at a good time to eat. The variety of hot sauces was a plus, I gave all a try. I been here 5 times, the ambience is comfortable and welcoming. The last thing I want to add is the price for a good meal is surprisingly affordable. 5 stars for Food, Service, and Ambience.

Yelp
I stopped by a day earlier because I wanted to pre-order since my family is dining here the next day for lunch. The waitress was friendly and took down my order. The next day we came in around noon and food came out quickly. Here's what I ordered: Fresh Rolls Golden Bags Tom Yum Soup with Tofu Larb (chicken) Sticky Rice Pineapple Fried Rice Pad See Ew with Chicken Panang Curry with Tofu Mango with Sticky Rice Steam Rice In terms of flavor, I would say it is average but there are some items that stood out. I do like the appetizer Golden Bags. For Fresh Rolls, ask for Peanut Sauce instead of the sweet sauce they gave. Pineapple Fried Rice was good but I wish they added cashew nuts. As for Mango with Sticky Rice, I really like the flavor on the Sticky Rice. Thai tea is not too sweet so I finished it quickly. I thought it was so cute that Steam Rice is in a heart shape. The waitress was attentive which made me gave them 4 stars. Perhaps I'm lucky with timing because I always find parking in front of the restaurant. They open late which is awesome when you're hungry late at night.

Yelp
From start to finish: mediocre at best. Lovely people, good service and nice ambience, but, the food AND drinks were not good. Sad food arrangements on the plates with no decoration. Mojito in Moscow mule cup with no mint wasn't good. Tasted like a cheap pre-mix. Fried tofu on aluminum tray arranged on a half paper bag with too little sauce was completely flavorless. Pad thai didn't taste, smell, or look good. Fresh soy sprouts were completely covered by a brown pile of noodles. Why?! In addition: since when does a restaurant charge you for take-out containers??? I was flabbergasted. Also, the place was too cold. Couldn't take off my coat for the duration of this dinner. Our server was so nice. I wish I could leave a better review.

Yelp
This is a great place to order some late-night delivery when you're craving a midnight snack. I ordered a pad see ew and some yellow curry. The pad see ew comes with plenty of chicken and vegetables. I'd say that it's pretty average and the flavor gets a bit bland after a while. However, the large portion size makes up for it. I split the pad see ew into two meals and that was pretty good. The yellow curry is also very standard. The potatoes could've been a bit more soft but everything else was good. One downside though, is that the curry does not come with rice so we just cooked our own. Overall, the quality of the food is decent for being open so late.
google avatar

Yan L.

Yelp
Pretty average thai food, great thai tea, only bonus is that it's open late at night. The pad see ew, one word: bland! There was no flavor other than the baby corn and some remanence of sauce on the noodles. I wouldn't come here again just because of the lack of flavor. If you do order, get it spicy, which I didn't know was an option when ordering online. Carrots a bit undercooked, would've liked them softer. But to leave things of on a good note, the thai tea was spectacular. Super sweet and refreshing. Would come here just for that delicious nectar, but pass on the rest.

Yelp
I was referred to this place by a coworker that always has them for lunch when you're looking for good Thai food and on a budget that's not gonna compromise the taste visit here. We got the pad Thai spring rolls Thai iced tea. They were delicious. Also this place is open late so if you get the late night munchies, stop by you won't be disappointed

Yelp
I am surprised to see the wide range of experiences in earlier reviews. I love the ambience in the restaurant although I ordered takeout. I had Pra Ram with chicken. Typically I order pineapple fried rice when trying a new place as it is my standard bearer, but the Pra Ram looked too interesting to pass up. I was not disappointed. Cooked in a rich peanut curry sauce, this Pra Ram definitely hit the spot. The broccoli was just the right kind of crispness to complement the dish. I will come back soon for the pineapple fried rice!

Yelp
Flavorful, fresh, nice ambiance, for a great price! It's a location for a restaurant like this, too.
google avatar

Joey G.

Yelp
The owners spoke so highly of their own restaurant well This place should be closed indefinitely. One of the worse experiences I have had with authenticated claimed establishments. My family and I drove from San Jose to try this self-proclaimed amazing Thai experience. The owners claimed that their food was Thai spicy and that we would enjoy our food especially with the distance. We ordered: Chicken pad Thai - burnt taste and aroma Grilled half beef and chicken- unflavored and pasty Bbq beef- extra dry and a disgusting taste I can not explain. Thai wings -dry wings and was not smothered like traditional Thai wings. The food tasted burnt and we left the place with full served plates. When asked about the food service the representative offered no explanation just a look of disgust.
google avatar

Joanna S.

Yelp
The food was bad my stomach hurt the next day after eating it and the shrimp that I got was mushy as hell and was not very up to par with other ACTUAL good THAI food!!!!
google avatar

Jeslin R.

Yelp
Ordered through a delivery app and received the worst green curry and Tom Kha I've ever had. The curry was nothing but oil and the soup was extremely watery. Terrible, this food is not cheap.

Arliana R.

Yelp
The food here was WONDERFUL. It was so flavorful and delicious. There are healthy options that aren't smothered in oil or butter like at other places. It tasted like a home made comfort meal. The staff is so sweet and always has a smile on their face. I will ALWAYS come back for my thai food fix. I also love the fact they are open so late because I work late at night so it is the perfect vibe for other restaurant workers.

Yelp
My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Eat At Thai and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with traditional Thai elements that transport you to the heart of Thailand. The attention to detail in the decor truly adds to the overall dining experience. It was definitely one of the much more well decorated restaurants I have visited, and had a modern flare to it that was nicely saturated in Thai culture. Like seriously, the food is usually the only thing I like to discuss in reviews, but the decor was so on point that I have to mention it. Great overall ambiance, lighting, and vibe too with a solid music selection. I was a little worried about the food because of some of the reviews on Yelp and Google. We ordered here before via DoorDash, thought the food was good, but didn't notice the negative reviews until afterwards. However, because my family and I really liked the food we decided to go check in-person to see how it was, and especially to see if the place was cleanly. The restaurant itself is somewhat unassuming from the outside, but inside it is very clean and beautifully decorated. The menu itself was nicely decorated, and offered a variety of authentic Thai dishes that looked super good. We started with their giant Tom Yum soup and it was out of this world. The combination of lemongrass, lime leaves, and chili created a broth that was both refreshing and spicy - just how we like it. My family and I were surprised when they brought bowls for all of us, because we did not expect it to be a shared soup, but the bowl was so huge that it was very easily shared between all of us. For my main course, I ordered their Crispy Pad Thai noodles and they did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly cooked and tossed with fresh vegetables and sweet Thai sauce. It looked like a won-ton salad, and was very tasty. Their fried rice is some of the best fried rice we have tried, and their red curry is AMAZING. Seriously, try their red curry and make it as spicy (or not) as you like; I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants and this is definitely one of the best red curries I have had the pleasure of trying. For vegetarians, they use a lot of coconut milk in their dishes and are exceedingly generous with their portions of tofu; it is simply awesome. For spice lovers, they make it spicy appropriately spicy on request. Their highest level of spice is actually spicy, which is a hard thing to find in a lot of restaurants for spice lovers. Everything was reasonably priced considering the portion size of the food offered and attention to detail given to every dish. It is about 10 minutes from campus driving down University Ave, and parking was not too hard to find relatively close to the restaurant. The surrounding area can get a little questionable during night time, so please be aware of that when parking. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the quality of ingredients used in each dish. You can tell that they take pride in sourcing local, fresh produce to create their flavorful creations. The service throughout my dining experience was top-notch. The waitstaff were attentive and always ready to provide recommendations based on our personal preferences. I cannot recommend Eat At Thai enough for anyone craving an authentic Thai dining experience. It's clear that they are passionate about sharing their love for Thai cuisine with their customers. Whether you're a fan of bold flavors or prefer something milder, there is something for everyone on their menu. A great hidden gem in Berkeley for restaurant-goers of all kinds :-)

Black S.

Yelp
Wayyy below average Thai food. Skimpy seafood portions in some dishes. Soups: either bland or oil floating on the top, and lacking any actual flavor beyond spice heat. Their last night hours are the only reason to try this place in a pinch.

Heather H.

Yelp
Food is MID. Could have put more love into good and meal. Was not a lot of flavor but super nice inside and pretty ambiance.
google avatar

Janna Allana S.

Yelp
Pretty good Thai fried rice and really good pad see yew and pad Thai! Be wary of the spice level. It can get really intense.

Brant B.

Yelp
Decent ambience and service, but food pretty disappointing. The only good parts about the meal were the bottled beer and veggie spring rolls. The pineapple fried rice wasn't tooo bad but some of the ingredients tasted like they were defrosted in a microwave. The Tom Kha Gai soup was a grayish white and lacking in flavor. The duck curry came with one tired duck leg and couple of small fragments. Even the tap water tasted off. We had lunch there some years ago and I seem to remember it as being pretty good. Hoping that maybe they were just having a bad night/week and this dip in quality is temporary, in the meantime however, we'll look for other options.
google avatar

C. Michael R.

Yelp
I only give this place three stars because it's super expensive. Like for one person in order to have a couple of beers a sweet entrée and maybe some spring rolls will cost you like $45. I actually just upped my rating from three star is a four stars because it is open until two in the morning even the bar on weekends. A lot of people from around the Berkeley area and even El Cerrito and Albany area apparently frequented a lot which I was surprised about because it's gonna pour away but it's the only thing open until two in the morning all week around and it's pretty decent Thai food. I used to get the beef fried rice on Friday there but then they started putting light too much ridiculous amount of eggplant in the shit to try to mask that they didn't have a lot of beef in there so that turned me off big time so I switch to like the red curry jasmine rice veggie spring rolls combo but with a couple of seahorse beers $45 man with a man I mean if you're looking to get celebrate something you could go here or if you're really super desperate late at night before two any day of the week go for it. But they know this and they price it and you are going to get hit with that premium out the ass. That being said it's still pretty good.
google avatar

Kristen N.

Yelp
We accidentally ordered food here off a recommendation from a friend. There are so many good Thai places in Berkeley but this one is not it. Thai Basil, Yimm, and Thai temple are incredible. This restaurant's Pad Thai was too sweet and noodles stuck together. And this was the mushiest and strange tasting pad see ew I've ever eaten :( do not order here lol

Alex S.

Yelp
Everything about the experience was fine except the food. Looks ok inside. Guy was nice. The food just wasn't very good. Not awful but I would never go back. I would maybe say 3 stars if it weren't also expensive.
google avatar

Athena N.

Yelp
The positive, the Tom Yum soup was good, and the doordash delivery was fast. However, the Pad Thai dish was horrible, the rice noodles arrived broken and there were chicken pieces added (that I didn't order or want-because I'm a pescatarian), the prawns were chalky and mushy. That dish was inedible, and I had to throw it away.
google avatar

l b.

Yelp
The food here is okay, pad Thai had too much sauce and the taste was not all that great, tasted too sweet and the noodles stuck together. The yellow curry- 1/5- sauce was watery more than coconut milk consistency, few pieces of chicken, and the potatoes had a different texture, felt crunchy instead of soft when biting into some pieces of it. The hot tea was $4 per cup for regular tea bags, they looked like Bigelow tea bags. I wouldn't come here again when there are many great options nearby for the same prices.
google avatar

Morgan P.

Yelp
I was super hopeful when I ordered delivery on Doordash from this place as they had a ton of strong reviews, but I see I should've checked Yelp first. I love trying new Thai places but this one really let me down. First thing I noticed was that the Thai Tea I ordered was quite small. Then I realized that my curry didn't come with any rice. I wish that I'd been prompted to add rice to my meal in the checkout process, but also, $17 for JUST curry, no rice, is really steep. Lastly, I got the tofu spring rolls which came with a tiny pathetic cup of dipping sauce suitable for 2 pieces MAX, and I was prompted to add extra sauce for $1.50 which I declined. I usually imagine that the sauce to food ratio will be fairly even but this was almost a joke, on top of that the dip cup I DID get wasn't even full. I hate to write less than glowing reviews for small, likely Asian owned businesses, but I do have to call it like I see it. I suspect maybe this spot has suffered through the pandemic and inflation like many others, so just be warned that while the food IS delicious, the pricing it a bit high for what you get.

Nicolas A.

Yelp
Great food and service. Open late at night. The crab rangoons are the best in Berkeley

Yelp
Came here with a friend for lunch this past weekend and it was lunchtime but we were the only customers and I had NOT looked at the reviews before we entered the restaurant. The place has lovely decor along with a large dining area on the right hand side and in the middle a bar with a tv and to the left a smaller dining area. I was wondering why there were no customers but we decided it was because of the the warm weather we were having and people wanting to be outdoors. This place is near our dance studio so it is very convenient. We ordered two items to share, the spring rolls and the hot pepper sizzling soft shell crab and we shared a salad and rice that comes with the meal. The spring rolls came out first and were A-ok but the hot pepper sizzling soft shell crab was surprisingly hearty and delicious! I was reluctant at first to try something new but I'm glad I did! After I came home I read the mixed reviews and I guess for our visit we were lucky that the food was good! The service was attentive as well.

Yelp
Over the last two nights I've craved. Nah. I've been possessed with having to have SPICY food. With everything going on, and moving to an area that had this place on doordash, decided to give it a shot. For the past two nights this place has not disappointed. When you put in the description "XTRAXTRACTRASPICY100000x's please" they deliver. And I love them. And this place deserves 5 million stars.
