Let’s Go On a Boba Tea Crawl Through Nashville - Eater Nashville

"Eat Bubbles is located inside the L&L Market, and it’s a sliver of a space that’s been cozily outfitted with small tchotchkes and well-worn cushions on a long bench. Owner Lora Aboulmouna traveled through Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan for three months where she gathered inspiration for her shop. In a refreshing twist from your typical boba spot, Eat Bubbles doesn’t rely on powders or artificial ingredients for their boba — which means freshly made fruit and vegetable purees (like strawberry and ube), organic milk, and brown sugar. Try the taro with egg pudding or, for a quick nibble, their matcha mochi waffle topped with tapioca pearls." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

My Hojicha Latte was a perfect blend! We got this bubble tea out of a small camper. It was very clean, and the customer service was very good. Lora was very attentive and patient. The Guatemala coffee is perfect.

Love love love 💕 eat bubbles! First time here, and will be coming back! Laura asked me if this was my first visit, I said yes. She kindly explained the process of their drinks and of course the wobbly kitty. So I got the wobbly cat and a taro drink. Just the way I like it, not too sweet…. Just right! Yum! A must try. Laura was such a kind person, she checked up on me and asked how I liked my order.

BEST boba place I have ever been to! I’ve been going to Eat Bubbles for years now at the East Nashville Farmer’s Market as well as visiting their location at L&L Market. You cannot beat their tapioca boba and all of their delicious flavors. The Tiger Milk has been my longtime go-to, it is truly my comfort drink. An amazing team and amazing ingredients, you won’t regret your time and money here!

Google
Been coming here semi-regularly for around three years. Easily the highest quality ingredients of any boba I’ve tried in Nashville. No powders, everything is natural. They have a great selection of flavors, and the staff are always super nice and helpful. 10/10. Support your local small businesses!

Google
I’m in Nashville often for work and this is my go to spot for matcha and tea! I love their strawberry hibiscus tea with aloe fruit. We catered tea for my company event and everyone truly enjoyed it! It was so good we even ubered a second order the next day!

Google
This is best boba in Nashville! It was my first introduction to boba and I am hooked. I went to their stand at the Richland Park Farmer’s Market and it was LOVELY. I tried a different boba shop this week and I was disappointed to find how much it paled in comparison to Eat Bubbles. Eat Bubbles has a life long customer in me! Make sure to try the matcha boba!

Google
Absolutely loved this place! The boba tea was amazing – perfectly balanced, super fresh, and just the right amount of sweetness. You can tell they use quality ingredients. A big shoutout to Lora who helped us – she was so friendly, welcoming, and made our experience even better. Great service, great drinks – definitely coming back!

Google
This is the cutest hole in the wall. The staff are friendly and the drinks 🤤 the space is a little tight, but you’ll forget that when drinking something so good.

Yelp
This beautiful bubble tea shop inside L&L Market is my go-to when I'm in need of some afternoon caffeine in West Nashville. Lora, Blake, and the entire team are always so welcoming, and they have great recommendations for any and all preferences and dietary restrictions. I've been slowly sampling my way through their menu, and my go-to is a Thai Tea (which isn't packed full of artificial flavors and colors like others around town are). At a time where we're all being a little more considerate of what we're putting into our bodies, it's such a comfort to know that Eat Bubbles only uses high-quality, artisan teas, and its own syrups in-house using organic brown sugar. I've also recently been on a Strawberry Matcha kick. Before I tried the matcha at Eat Bubbles, I would not have considered myself a fan of matcha in any way, shape, or form. I just couldn't get past that earthy taste ... and didn't see what all the hype was about. I shared those concerns with Eat Bubbles team, and they assured me that not all matcha tastes like that. In fact, their matcha is ceremonial grade, and sourced directly from Japan. If you're like me and aren't quite sure about matcha ... you should definitely check out Eat Bubbles before making your decision. You can also find Eat Bubbles pop-ups at various farmers markets around the city, including East Nashville and Richland Park. They won't have their full menu available - but it's a great first stop to fuel up before shopping through your favorite market booths.

Yelp
Last week Saturday, was my first to Eat Bubbles. There was a little bit of a wait due to one of their viral videos on Tiktok blowing up, but we had no problem waiting. Their store is cute and quaint especially with the benches that feel like couches with tables in the store. Although the workers were busy, they were very friendly and quick making all of the orders. My friend and I got the Ube Taro Twist, i'll definitely be going back to get a flight to try multiple flavors. The ube didn't taste artificial, the chunks of taro was so satisfying to drink and the boba pearls were fresh. Being from Hawaii, I'm so glad I found a good boba spot here since I've been disappointed by a few places compared to back home.

Yelp
Want to stand in line for 25 minutes, and get a $7 drink with a teaspoon of salted cream foam? And get a dry, plain waffle since they're out of ice cream and it doesn't come with toppings (or at least she told me no to the topping I asked for)? Then you get to wait at a dirty table for another 25 minutes for your drink and waffle. Overpriced, white washed garbage. My cup wasn't even full, it had a tiny amount of foam and it was in a straw cup so the foam was ruined (the whole point is to sip it). Not worth it, I'd rather make it at home, this place is terrible.

Yelp
Can't wait to come back here! The cashier was so friendly and helpful! Delicious gluten free and dairy free bubble tea!! Love that they had vegan options!! The taro ube milk tea w oat was stunning! It was sweet without being overly so! It tasted like actual taro, not the sugary, syrupy, fake stuff you get a lot of places! I was told that there's no dyes/syrups/powders in it -- was the most refreshing and satisfying boba I've ever had!! The shop is small but absolutely adorable!!
google avatar

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Visited this place a while back (located inside the L & L market), and tried their Ube Taro Twist and the Orange Creamsicle. The Ube Taro Twist has taro root, ube, organic sugarcane and you can choose the type of milk that'll be used in the drink. This drink was my favorite! The Orange Creamsicle comes with orange juice, vanilla syrup made in house and cream foam. They make only fresh brewed, loose-leaf teas using all natural ingredients - no artificial ingredients or powders. They source their teas from family owned tea gardens around the world and they make their own simple syrups in-house using organic brown sugar, not high-fructose syrups.

Yelp
We had the cat pudding, so fun! Also enjoyed the toffee honeycomb boba tea and a Vietnamese coffee. Staff was kind. The shop is tiny and cute. Would definitely return.

Yelp
I visited Eat Bubbles recently, excited to try their highly praised bubble tea. I went for a classic Thai Milk Tea, which I ordered quickly and easily thanks to the fast and efficient service. While the service was excellent, I have to admit that the Thai Milk Tea didn't quite meet my expectations. The taste was not bad, but it fell short compared to my personal experiences at other bubble tea shops. I suspect I may have received the wrong order, as the drink didn't match what I usually expect from a Thai Milk Tea. Besides this, I appreciate the effort they put into using fresh and natural ingredients, which is a big plus in today's bubble tea scene. The ambiance of the shop was cozy and inviting, making it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy a drink. I plan to give Eat Bubbles another try and explore their menu further, hoping to find a bubble tea that better aligns with my tastes.

joanna M.

Yelp
Best shop in town. If you don't like your drink and would like to add more sweetness they are always more than happy to do so for you. The workers are also all well informed about their products and give great recommendations. If you are someone who has only had the prepackaged unnatural stuff most places offer, this may be a different experience as everything here is made in store and organic. (Which i honestly prefer) I would recommend the Assam black tea with extra boba and slight extra sweetness.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
These folks do their best to provide quality bubble teas and will to any length to ensure satisfaction. I need to recommend their ube taro blend. It was delicious, made from real ube and taro, not powder.

Yelp
After a quick, but way too satisfying dinner, the lovely Spensyr and I were too full for dessert but wanted something sweet, so we came here. Located inside the same charming shopping mall as Culture & Co., this delightful little Boba shop had caught our eye on the way in, and we knew it would hit the spot. A menu full of interesting tasty snacks and drinks (Spensyr decided to try the Lavender Dream and loved it), charming friendly staff, and decent prices all came together to create the perfect ending to a perfect evening.

Yelp
After my last experience, they were super friendly when reaching out to me and trying to rectify it!! The owners here do ANYTHING to ensure satisfaction and quality boba. I went back with my friends and our server was BEYOND friendly and so sweet to us, letting me try things and explaining what everything was and what she liked best. I tried the Ube Taro drink again, as she said it had a new recipe. I also got egg pudding with it as per her recommendation! She even let me try it beforehand :) The texture of the drink was so much better this time, with an awesome subtly sweet and earthy flavor. It's also a beautiful drink. There is still SOME texture to it, but that's because it's fresh and real instead of artificial, unlike a lot of other boba places! If you really don't want any of the texture, she recommended getting it with just taro instead of ube. They're super sweet and their bobas are very real and fresh, so definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
The most FRESH boba tea I have consumed! The most kind, friendly, genuine staff! I loved how warm and cozy this place was. It left me with a smiling heart! *Note there are board games inside too! Definitely added to the cute-ness, makes it a perfect place to sit and relax while walking through L&L for a break* All the ingredients are fresh and delicious! No artificial ingredients or powders and you can tell!Being lactose intolerant it can make it difficult if there are no milk alternatives but everything here is natural, farm fresh, milk alternatives including lactose free milk, caffeine free options AND vegan friendly! I wanted the whole menu and I asked what they recommend and I got a Strawberry Matcha with regular boba and the lactose free milk. 11/10 best boba I have had in the Nashville area! Top 3 in my life! The fresh strawberry preserves MADE it! I am so excited to come back again, and again and again! (They have cards here where one purchase you can get it punched and if you order 10 drinks you get 1 free!)
google avatar

Yelp
Service is good, but their boba isn't that great. Love that they have lactose options though.
google avatar

Ellie L.

Yelp
Came to eat bubbles for the first time yesterday and it was super cute! Adorable decor, good vibes and awesome staff. I ordered a Thai tea boba and which I try everywhere. The drink is made "their" way and tastes more like a chai tea latte in my opinion. Would definitely have preferred that original Thai tea flavor!
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
The best boba shop in Nashville, without a doubt (my standards are very high, having grown up in the Bay Area and going to Taiwan, where boba is from, every 2-3 years during my entire life). Tea with actual flavor, ingredients made in house, boba perfectly chewy. Absolutely love the ube taro twist, which is in-house ube paste, in-house taro paste, and milk. Usually get boba in it and no sugar. Never had anything like it before, flavors are awesome. Anything with the strawberry puree and mango purees are great too, I've gotten the strawberry matcha, jasmine tea with either of those, and lemonade with either of those. I love the lemonade here (I know it's not tea), because it's sufficiently sour and not overloaded with sugar. Amazing drinks! There's a location in L&L Market, and they also do a lot of regular events like the 12 south farmers market and Vanderbilt's market, along with various events throughout the summer / fall. People working here are also super friendly and helpful, willing and happy to answer all questions, and now offering samples! If you like boba, this is the spot to go in Nashville!
google avatar

Simone G.

Yelp
Every time I go in the staff is very welcoming and helpful. I love the flavors and they have the best boba pearls in town! It's such a cute space and there is a cozy seating area inside. You can't go wrong with getting anything from Eat Bubbles!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent bubble tea with a wide variety of natural and organic ingredients, various caffeine levels (including decaffeinated), and more. The person working here was super friendly and helpful, explaining all the options and providing recommendations. They were also really knowledgeable about all the ingredients. It was so great knowing exactly what was going into your bubble tea beverage. The bubble tea is really great. I had the Honeycomb Toffee bubble tea, which was sweet and delicious. My wife had the Ube Taro Twist bubble tea, which has a nice flavor and just a slight touch of sweetness. They're also really helpful when it comes to allergies. They are very knowledgeable about the ingredients, all the milk options (including the real dairy milk) are lactose free, and they offer many vegan and gluten-free options. The caffeine levels are marked on the menu board, and they can modify sweetness to your preference. The interior is open and bright and decorated well. Eat Bubbles is located in the L&L Market, which features a variety of nice shops and restaurants. It is great for grabbing a bubble tea and checking out the shops, or perhaps having a bubble tea for dessert after enjoying one of the restaurants here.

Yelp
I ordered a Jasmine with no milk tea with lychee and had an awful experience. The taste was bitter, even though the sweetness was 75%, the customer service was rushed and this is my second time having boba in general. Not a fan, and wish it was better.
google avatar

Quentin T.

Yelp
Hands down the most delicious Thai tea I've had anywhere! I had the Thai milk tea (dairy) with tapioca pearls. Pearls were bouncy & chewy & big, tea was super flavorful with subtle hints of all the spices used in the brewing process which is so different than most places which probably use a powdered Thai tea blend & copious sweeteners to give it the sugar slam. I was taken by surprise on my first sip & it's not overly sugary either, which is nice. I have tried Thai milk tea everywhere it's available in my travels, Tokyo, Paris, Thailand, & here abroad. The styles & methods vary but no doubt this tea was/is my favorite at the moment. Also the employee was very nice & patient with me while I made my decision. Looking forward to trying their ube next time!

Yelp
Visited Apr 29, 2023. Eat Bubble is located inside of L&L Market off of Charlotte Ave. The building has it's own free parking lot in the back. Walking in from the back entrance, Eat Bubble is located down the left hall. It's a small space with at least 6 round tables for two. Each table is equipped with an outlet located at the bottom of the booth's seat. I think the decor is also aesthetically pleasing. The bookshelves above the booths gives the atmosphere a cool sophisticated vibe filled with display books, ceramics, glassware, and baskets. Since the shop is within L&L, it's borderline loud (only during busy times) but not as loud as being in the marketplace itself and could be a good option to study or work short term. The menu had a lot of great options from matcha, classic teas to something fruity! We ordered the Honeycomb Toffee & Hojicha Latte Signature Drinks. Our expectations were for the Honeycomb Toffee to have a nice light brown color as seen on the website. The drink and honeycomb flavor was very light and we couldn't taste the toffee (photo comparison attached). The Hojicha came out great and was exactly like the photos before I shook it up! The service was nice as well. We're excited to come back and try the other flavors!

Yelp
Been super excited to try this place. Actually went a bit out of my way to give it a try. But unfortunately was extremely disappointed. Tried the ube, the signature & matcha lemonade. Prices were high for sure but I don't mind at all if it's very good. It wasn't. The interior space is so cute and done well. There was only one younger guy working when we went in and he seemed a bit overwhelmed. The signature tea we ordered had absolutely no flavor, tasted like watered down old coffee or something. So odd. You can even see from the picture how watered down it looks. Ordered all larges and none were filled to the top as well. I love ube and this had again, barely any flavor at all and quite an odd sandy texture. The only one we liked was the matcha lemonade which was very tasty and refreshing. I loved the idea that they don't use any powders or artificial nonsense but we were so bummed. Having spent $30 for 3 drinks, just not pleased.

Erika I.

Yelp
Amazing service, LOTS of matcha options this March with the Matcha Madness situation I could not decide. Eventually, I picked the matcha latte with lavender and boba. It is wonderful, such yummy matcha, and the boba was perfection cute store too, just dropped by for some good matcha. So good, so happy!

Yelp
Nice little shop inside L&L market. Boba is made fresh and kept at the front when you order. The staff is very nice and friendly. Spent a good 3 minutes just talking about bike and the bike paths in Nashville. The mango jasmine was good. I want to try it with lychee jelly next time to see the taste difference. Overall not bad but the staff there deserve credit for kindness and efficiency :)
google avatar

Yelp
While the venue is really nice and trendy and clean, the boba was just so so. The service was friendly and attentive. I think it's a super cute spot and they have a bunch of flavors.

Yelp
I first went to eat bubbles when I came to visit my boyfriend for the first time in Nashville and just quickly looked up bubble tea near me. I was a little surprised in the placement of the shop, and didn't know if I'd like it. The moment I stepped in, my life changed FOREVA!! The layout of the shop was phenomenal, and the smell when you walk in is soooo good. We sat there for at least 45 minutes just chatting and sipping our drink. Every time I came to visit Nashville after that, I had to make sure that we went to eat bubbles. Ive had other boba from spots, and just can't seem to ever find something as good at eat bubbles, me and my boyfriend both agree it's the best boba we've had. I usually have to have 2 before I'm satisfied to leave! (I've also filled out 2 of their little punch cards already... oops). The customer service is also great too, they're always super attentive and happy to serve me, I didn't catch his name, but I see him pretty often. He has glasses and a very welcoming smile, doesn't make me nervous to come in at all! I'm very happy to have found this place, and hope others enjoy it as much as we do! The jelly cat is limited, and I think it'll be coming back? Peace out!
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
I stopped in here for a bubble tea. What an adorable shop!!! They use real tea and no powdered flavorings. The boba was cooked perfect! I tried the London Fog boba. Very good.
google avatar

Sherry Y.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Eat Bubbles, and they have one of the more reasonable sweetness levels for tea in the area. Boba can get pretty sweet, and this location instead highlights the quality of the tea. The house blend is excellent, and the boba has the right level of spring. It seems like they have plenty of other options like the well-known brown sugar boba, matcha, and even hojicha. My husband got the boba to go, but he enjoyed the cute decor and suggested we dine in next time. I love their casual yet bubbly cafe vibe. As this location is in L&L, there is a private lot, but you'll have to fight for a spot on the weekends.
google avatar

Miguel O.

Yelp
Alright. Not very authentic milk tea boba. Tapioca was not fresh. Best boba Ive had in Nashville so far is at steam boys, more authentic
google avatar

Ethan T.

Yelp
Best boba spot I've found in Nashville!I got the Ube Taro Twist and they make everything for it in-house! As a SoCal transplant into Nashville, I didn't think I would find the kind of quality boba and aesthetic that I was used to finding there. This spot had a really unique menu with specialty drinks I didn't expect to find, and after talking with the owner Lara, found out that they source directly from farmers internationally. It makes you feel good to buy boba here, and you would be supporting an incredible small business owner. Shoutout to Urban who made our drinks to perfection and was super friendly and helpful!
google avatar

Robbi E.

Yelp
It is always a pleasure when I am at Eat Bubbles. They provide authentic and unique boba tea options. I personally love that all of their teas are imported from around the world. You can truly taste the difference. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. My current favorite is the Strawberry Matcha. The location is inside the L&L Market.
google avatar

Lori T.

Yelp
We discovered Eat Bubbles a few years ago at the 12 S Farmers Market. The Hojicha Latte with oat milk has ruined me for all other boba tea. My 13 year old gets their Matcha Latte with oat milk every week at the market, and we will often pop in to their cute little shop in L&L Market on Charlotte. It's the perfect spot to take a friend or the kids or just treat yourself. Blake always remembers our order and will often make recommendations for branching out and trying something new. Ambiance is perfect. Service is stellar. Boba tea is beyond compare. We love Eat Bubbles!
google avatar

Bria L.

Yelp
I went to Eat Bubbles and got a London Fog. It was yummy. The service was quick and the drink was delicious. The staff was knowledgeable and helped with any questions with the menu. The location is small, so it may fill up quickly.
google avatar

Devin R.

Yelp
10/10 service 10/10 Quality 10/10 flavors 10/10 ambiance 10/10 more authentic 10/10 hours 0/10 need more locations lol
google avatar

Teresa W.

Yelp
High quality boba tea with REAL milk. No powder and none of those non-dairy stuff. The boba was well prepared with high quality tea. I highly recommended. It is located inside the L&L market.
google avatar

Shirley C.

Yelp
Tasty bubble tea! This is a new location in L&L Market (they've been operating at various farmers markets for a while now). I got the honeycomb toffee, which doesn't have any tea but instead uses housemade honeycomb toffee to flavor the drink. The idea behind this drink is that as the honeycomb toffee melts, it infuses the milk with the flavors of honey and sugarcane. The drink was the right amount of sweet, and the boba was appropriately cooked to be soft and chewy. I can't wait to come back and try more of their offerings!
google avatar

Asia B.

Yelp
Such a cute bubble tea shop! This place has such a fun and inviting ambiance. As I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome which I truly appreciate when going to new restaurants/shops. I chose the taro with Ube swirl with boba. Not only was it delicious but it was a pretty drink to walk around with and super Instagram worthy! The only knock that I have is I wish the drink was colder. It was a little lukewarm but it was still delicious overall definitely a 9/10!
google avatar

Jenny D.

Yelp
Great owner with experience from all over the world! Eat Bubbles' boba is comparable to the bay area and that's saying a lot for a city like Nashville. We tried the Ube, honey comb, and strawberry matcha boba flavors and loved each one. Staff is super friendly as well! We will definitely be coming back to Eat Bubbles
google avatar

Maya A.

Yelp
this is such a cute spot!! I got the lavender dream. It was so delicious & there are so many cute drink options!! highly recommend

Lena M.

Yelp
Visiting Nashville, craving some good boba and was recommend to try this spot. I'm dairy free and all their drinks can be made to your liking. The boba is yummy, not too sweet with a great after taste, truly hits the spot. Btw try the matcha waffles (GF!!)!! Highly recommended with relaxing ambiance and great service!!!

Martha I.

Yelp
adorable space, high quality boba tea that's not crazy expensive with great variety in recipes- vegan options, nondairy, and they can even customize further to taste/texture. service was A+.
google avatar

Susie C.

Yelp
Tried their boba at one of the markets while visiting Nashville. It was amazing! They told me their boba is made fresh daily and all their teas are natural and made in-house. Went specifically to their store in L&L Market to have more! Such a cute spot and the service was great.

Corey V.

Yelp
So loved visiting Eat Bubbles! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They had a wide variety of options for Boba Tea! I got the Tiger Milk which was a brown sugar based drink and it was amazing. Definitely coming back!

Kendra L.

Yelp
Natural bubba tea. Fast and great service. Chill vibes to study. Hojicha Lavender Dream
google avatar

Honor L.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! Best matcha in town (and I've had a lot of matchas ) Boba is always perfectly cooked and sweetened. I also love that they have Hojicha- not many tea/coffee places have that. I've been helped a few times by Blake, who is super helpful and kind! I'll be back as much as I can!
google avatar

Sam A.

Yelp
The BEST matcha boba I've ever had. You can tell it's actually high quality matcha! They have plant based milk options as well, but also have lactose free whole milk which is what I got and that contributed in a big way. No gross milk dust / powder! Can't wait to try their other flavors. Kind people and adorable shop design too. Begging for them to open a second location closer to east nash ‍
google avatar

YH H.

Yelp
The *Best*bubble tea in Nashville. The tea is authentic from Asia. The owner is trying to add more options to the menu so I am coming back to get more

Alex C.

Yelp
Like many other Bay Area transplants, been looking for a good place since moving. Since finding it a week ago, have been three times already. Their teas are very good (haven't found any other place with hojicha as good in Nashville), use real milk (lactose free as a plus too!), and the boba have been consistently good (have not sat around too long and gotten less chewy). Tl;dr first Boba I've had that has reminded of the Bay In Nashville
google avatar

Susan P.

Yelp
The absolute best Matcha. Finest ingredients made with absolute love and care. Am so excited about permanent location!

Rachel K.

Yelp
By far the best Boba spot in the Nashville area. Their ingredients are all natural (not powders) and you can really taste the difference. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. My favorites are the taro milk tea and the London fog/ube, but I like to try the staff recommendations when I go and they've never let me down. The store is also super clean and cute. The hours listed on Yelp are not correct. They're open until at least 7 Wednesday-Sunday. Highly recommend!
