The 25 Best Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for the plumpest, most herb-packed summer rolls, or the crispiest, most prawn-heavy bánh xèo, go to Eat Vietnam. The Deptford favourite is the most consistently excellent Vietnamese restaurant in London, and it wears its superiority lightly. The low-key room suits any occasion, but the attention to detail is in everything you eat. Regulars know repeat visits are essential because the menu is so vast and appealing. Meat-lovers will swoon at barbecue section, with fragrant sườn heo nướng (glazed baby back ribs) to nem nướng nha trang (smoky charcoal pork skewers alongside a gluggable peanut sauce). Vegetarians and vegans are also keenly looked after with a separate and similarly excellent menu of specials." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

The 13 Best Restaurants In Deptford - London - The Infatuation

"Eat Vietnam Bar-B-Grill is our favourite Vietnamese restaurant and one of the overall best in London. The menu is vast but the quality is consistent. There’s bún and phở, but it’s the other stuff from Eat Vietnam’s grill that make it stand out. Nem nướng nha trang—a kebab-like, charcoal-grilled pork skewer with herbs and a peanut dip—is superb. And all of the meats glazed with their house sauce, from wings to baby back ribs, sing in its flavour that’s equal parts aromatic as it is rootin’ and tootin’. On weekends, the canteen-ish space is buzzing with friends and family so book ahead." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, sinead cranna, daisy meager

Best Vietnamese Restaurants in London | Eater London

"99 times out of 100 something described as “juicy lamb from the grill” is going to be profoundly boring, yet at Eat Vietnam on Evelyn Street — the locus of the area’s latest flowering of great Vietnamese restaurants — it’s a proper Barnsley chop, marinated to the bone and rendered properly so the last bite of crispy, caramel fat is the sweetest, most satisfying bite of the evening. A fried sea bream comes on its belly in a beautiful chainmail of silver skin, still opalescent inside once the jerky exterior is peeled back. The head is picked at until the bill arrives. Not a word of criticism is aimed at a simple dish of morning glory from connoisseurs of the vegetable. What is Eat Vietnam doing differently to most of the places on Kingsland Road? The answer is simple: the owners still care." - Jennifer Trak

"Fire up the barbecue and let Eat Vietnam bar-b-grill do all the work. A barbecue specialist that’ll go down a storm in any household. From sườn heo nướng (whole rack of baby back ribs glazed in a sticky secret house sauce) to bún thịt nướng (barbecued pork marinated in lemongrass, wrapped in lettuce and herbs), without a doubt this is one of London’s best Vietnamese joints. A place I keep coming back to for the best Vietnamese in London. Generous portions packed with flavour and always great service.

The food here was good, specially the starters. The fried squid and the summer rolls were fantastic. The whole sea bream was good but was not as crispy as other times. The lamb cutlet’s flavour was great due to its seasoning, but the meat was a bit dry / overcooked for our taste and it was the only disappointing dish of them all. We did not have to wait much to be seated despite not having a reservation so that was great. The service was good and the ambiance is relaxed and cozy. Good prices and quality. This restaurant is worth checking out and I will definitely come back again.

Eat Vietnam 2 is great! To cope with the overspill of customers they opened a sister restaurant! This place is just as cozy as Eat Vietnam 1. Service is excellent, food is beautifully plated and generous! You really get value for money and the taste is authentic Vietnamese. I have eaten all around Vietnam and this place hit the nail on the head when it comes to taste, presentation & atmosphere. Eat Vietnam. You won't regret it!

The best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to. Really great range of dishes I haven’t seen before, delicious food and generous portions. Felt like really good value. I’ll be the thinking about the barbecue quail for a long time! Only minor note is it’s very very loud when it’s busy! But for me, it’s worth it.

Quite an authentic Vietnamese restaurant around this area. Apparently we went during the second week opening. It is nice ambience there. The bahn cuon was alright although didn’t taste it was homemade for this compared to other Vietnamese restaurant. However, I must say the classic beef pho bo tai was absolutely divine!! You can see the raw beef meat on the soup bowl itself! Real treat and the soup was delicious too, didn’t taste too much of MSG in it. Overall, I think is a great restaurant and as good as it’s first shop just next 2 stores. Came here again few weeks later and I am still impressed with the food served! Pho definitely has the quality and tried the banh mi. Heavenly crispy and delicious!

Lovely staff, food is delicious! Good value for money and big portions - would recommend beef pho, spring rolls, mango salad, and any of their banh mi’s and iced coffee! Definitely a visit if you’re in the area

Eat Vietnam 2 is the fantastic new addition just a few doors down from the already splendid original restaurant. They've got a fresh menu with a few adjustments to their dishes, and they've introduced a Banh Mi sub-menu that's well worth a look. There's a cosy outdoor covered area, ground floor seating, and a large basement space that can accommodate 30-40 people. The place looks truly modern and snug after its renovation, with some lovely photos and touches from their hometown in Vietnam. The food is just as tasty as always and never fails to leave you satisfied. Definitely recommended – you must visit and give it a try!
