Eataly Caffè - Review - Midtown - New York - The Infatuation

"Part of Eataly's expansion kick, this cafe near Rockefeller Center looks like a handy Midtown lunch option for office-goers and tourists, with a full espresso program, pastries, gelato, and Roman-style pizza. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

Eataly Is Opening New Cafes in Manhattan and Restaurants at JFK | Eater NY

"A major Italian-market chain is opening its first-ever caffè at 1230 Sixth Avenue at West 49th Street near Rockefeller Center on Thursday, May 15. The location is described as a smaller offshoot and represents the chain's first dedicated café-format outpost in Manhattan." - Nadia Chaudhury

This is located at the corner of 6th Ave and 49th street. I was very excited to come here and even though we were glad we did, overall was okay. I know it’s New York and it’s located in very popular spot but everything is just overpriced. We got pizza and panna cotta but $16 for a slice of pizza and even panna cotta was basically $17 which is crazy to me. The panna cotta should be like $12 max. We enjoyed the food and we are glad we experienced that but once is good. We would probably go somewhere else to grab pizza and dessert. And I didn’t like we had to repeat our order at the cash register. Someone else already got our pizza order and put them in the oven but staff don’t really communicate so the cashier asked us what pizza we ordered….I don’t remember the name of the pizza! I’m glad I took a picture of the pizza I ordered.lol We had to make sure she got everything we ordered. She was very nice though. The guy who took on our pizza order was okay. He had no smile or whatsoever but it’s pretty common in the US and probably he was tired. Anyway, if you want to visit, you should visit this store once, but I think once would be good enough. It’s a new place so it’s clean and nice inside. Just $16-17 a piece is overpriced in my opinion even in NY for that size.

Eataly is a vibrant Italian concept that offers far more than a typical coffee shop. The variety is impressive—freshly baked pizzas, sandwiches, salads, pastas, desserts, gelato, and even gourmet chocolates. The displays are beautiful, and the food quality is genuinely good. I ordered a flat white ($6.90) and a spicy salami pizza ($9.90). The pizza was delicious but had to be eaten right away after heating, which meant I had to eat standing up while waiting for my coffee, which wasn’t ready yet. Altogether, I paid $18 for a small pizza and a coffee, which feels quite pricey, especially considering the lack of table service and limited seating organization. The main downside is the seating. There’s no system in place, so you often see one person taking up a table for four while others are left standing. I personally ended up spending about 45 minutes eating without a proper table. Tables are rarely cleared promptly, which only makes the situation worse. In the middle of the restaurant, there’s a big central display with a shared table, but it feels like wasted space. Smaller single tables would work better, especially since many people come here to work on laptops. The concept itself is excellent, and the food and coffee live up to the brand. However, for a place charging nearly $20 for a quick pizza and coffee, the service and seating really fall short. A bit more attentiveness in clearing tables and reorganizing the layout would elevate the overall experience to match the Eataly brand name. #AshCertified: 3/5 ✅ Great coffee & authentic food ❌ Pricey for what you get, service & seating need improvement

This place is ALWAYS crowded. Good for them. Bad for you. Many times a line actually goes out the door. Not sure why because all the sandwiches are premade and that is pretty much all they offer. And pastries The salads in the back are self serve with no line. A great tourist attraction I guess . All the food is beautiful.

This place is so delicious! We got a pistachio mousse cake, and it was amazing and rich. They had some really neat pizzas and other sandwiches. The burrata pizza was delicious. Great place and nice atmosphere. Prices are a little on the higher end (about $10 for each item we got), but it was very good quality.

We came found this cafe on a raining day in New York! Perfect time for a hot cappuccino. Coffee beautifully made and all the pastry look aperitif!! The Rum cake was good but too sweet and lots of rum. The cream puff was too dry!

Beautiful Eataly location right next to Roc Center! I stopped in for coffee and a snack on my way to see Top of the Rock and I’m so glad. The girls behind the pastry counter were so sweet, they helped me choose from all the options. I got the Croissant with Cream, and it was delicious! Try the Cafe Torino if you like chocolate and coffee! Would definitely recommend! Thank you guys, I’ll be back soon!

Something on my list for NYC visit and finally got to try their Rockefeller branch. Place is spacious — good seating capacity, restrooms, drinking water, and condiments. The food overall is just okay especially if we are looking at the price point. The pistachio mouse is good but still overpriced. Coffee is okay. Something you’ll try in NYC but I probably won’t come back.

This place, situated just across the Magnolia Bakery and near the Rockefeller Center, offers a diverse selection of pizzas on display. However, the chocolates, weighing a hefty $56 per pound, were quite pricey and not worth the indulgence. We tried a slice of Cinque Formaggi, which was good but had an unusual smell of either the oil or the cheese. I won’t be ordering this again. On a positive note, the app provides a free Cappuccino (excluding lattes and other coffee options; only Cappuccino and Drip Coffee). Despite the expensive chocolates, the overall vibe of the place is quite pleasant and makes it worth a visit.
