Eataly Toronto

The atmosphere is lovely. A friend and I went to one of the restaurants and shared several things on the menu. I would say the portions are on the smaller side, especially the pasta. I wouldn't say it's anything to brag about, but I would go back to try more of their options. I really enjoyed walking through their store/market.

Eataly is such a fantastic spot whether you’re meeting a friend for a casual lunch or planning a casual date night out. There’s something about the atmosphere that feels both relaxed and a little bit special at the same time. On this visit, we decided to have dinner at La Pizza & La Pasta, which is located on the second floor. The energy of the space, with the open kitchen and the aroma of fresh ingredients in the air, makes the whole experience feel authentic and inviting. We enjoyed a delicious meal—classic comfort dishes that are simple yet full of flavour, exactly what you hope for when craving good Italian food. After dinner, we couldn’t resist stopping by the marketplace to pick up dessert to enjoy later at home. There are so many tempting options that it’s almost impossible to choose just one. Honestly, I could happily spend an entire hour wandering through the store, browsing all the specialty items, fresh ingredients, and beautifully packaged treats. Every aisle feels like a little adventure, and it always makes me want to take one of everything home. Eataly has a way of turning a simple meal into a delightful outing.

Went to Eataly this past weekend while visiting Toronto, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and you can actually watch them making the pasta and pizza right when you walk in. My girlfriend and I shared a pizza and a lasagna dish, and I tried the Italian Diet Coke, “moleCola.” Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. I’d definitely come back.

I’m not very well-versed in Italian cuisine so coming to Eataly is always a fun learning experience. Right now is a very busy time in store - staff try their best putting on a smile while being crazily rushed. Based on my persona preference, food is $$$ with lower than expectation taste(3.5/5). I might need to try a few more options to get a better idea(?

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and was greeted by friendly and efficient staff. The place was very busy, yet, I was able to obtain a table after purchasing a coffee. The drip coffee was pretty good and the establishment has some nice looking sandwiches too. The patrons appeared the professional crowd a step up from Starbucks!. The facility was well maintained and clean. The price was reasonable.

The food here was amazing. My family loves the potato and cheese focaccia bread. 2 of us ate half of the entire focaccia bread in 10 minutes. Great portions, reasonable pricing. Our main server was very hospitable, and made sure we were having a great dinner. However, the booth seats were extremely small and squishy, but the music and lighting created a wonderful atmosphere.

Bought a whole tiramisu for about $40. I was really excited to finally try the Eataly tiramisu after hearing so many great reviews about it. I honestly went in expecting to love it and had even planned to make a positive TikTok/Instagram video reviewing it. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The ladyfingers were completely waterlogged tasted as if they were soaked and took a long swim in water instead of a swift dip in coffee, the tiramisu looked deflated, and every bite released a disgusting and unpleasant burst of literal water. The quality was shocking and far below expectations. I took photos and videos because I couldn’t believe how off it was. I have tried thousands of tiramisu and can say this was easily the worst one I have ever tried. In the video i took you can see how much watery coffee comes out of each tiny piece. I rarely leave negative reviews, I tried emailing the customer service email first and did not get any response. I chose not to post anything on social media because I truly believe this must have been a one-off mistake. Eataly has such a strong reputation, which makes this experience even more surprising. I’m sharing this in hopes it gets looked into so other customers don’t have the same experience.

Very mixed experience at La Pizza & La Pasta! The food was excellent and genuinely some of the best Italian food i’ve had. The service, however, was not good. Waitress was very inattentive, did not check in once on us after taking our order. Needed some Grana Padano for the Bolognese, and had to wave down a busser since our server was nowhere to be found. We felt very ignored and our food went cold while waiting. Busser also had to bring out boxes and bags for us. Would try out a different location if you want better service! Then we had to go find the waitress just to ask for the bill. 5/5 for the food, but poor service.

An ok meal that delivered exactly as expected. This isn't fine dining but it's decent. Had the Polpette and it was a bit too salty but otherwise good. With large portion. Also has the Pappardelle al ragu de funghi and it was a nice, large portion with lots of mushrooms. I'm nit picking but the mushroom flavour could be stronger. But that's heading towards Michelin expectations. Overall solid meal. Especially at this price point.

After recommendations from friends I finally ate at Eataly's La Pizza & La Pasta at Bloor Bay location and the food was absolutely fantastic! The recommended pizza was delicious, flavourful and light. I definitely had a foodgasm! I ordered the MARGHERITA "A RUOTA DI CARRO" which was the large MARGHERITA version and I loved this thin crust so much. I kept thinking this is what authentic Neapolitan pizza must taste like in Italy. The meats & cheese platter we shared was delicious and looked beautiful. The focaccia bread was so fresh, hot and fluffy! I also loved the delicious housemade Pappardelle pasta with mushrooms which we shared. I wished I had my own order! For dessert I had the Dark Chocolate Budino, Crumbled Cake which was very delicious but confusing. It was served in a drinking glass so it looked like I received wrong order. The ambiance was really warm and we had a fantastic booth and a bright view outside through the ceiling high windows. It was crowded at Eataly on this Monday lunch time but thankfully we had a reservation. But wow it's a long maze to get to the restaurant. And big thanks to our awesome server Christina who was friendly and pronounced the Italian dishes so well! My only criticism is the menu was difficult to read with font sizes so small and mostly in Italian. So we're glad our server was patient with all my questions. Our server, Bethanie, was easily one of the best servers we've ever had! She was so helpful and brought the best energy, even on a busy Saturday night during the Christmas rush. She showed us the latest Eataly offering at La Pizza & La Pasta: if you can't pick a pizza, you can order "Tre Gusti" and get three different pizza flavours on your pizza for just $30! The pizza crust is different from the one in the nearby takeaway area; it's so light and perfect! Also, the suppli appetizer was perfect-- these are like arancini that taste just like pizza. Thanks to Bethanie for an awesome Eataly experience!

We were luckily able to make a last minute reservation for 1:15pm in a Thurs. It didn't seem that busy, but when we asked to sit at the available tables by the window the hostess was kind but said the server in thy section is overwhelmed unfortunately, which is understandable I guess, but then a couple ended up sitting there after 10mins. Food: Molecola $6 - Expensive for pop but it was quite the unique Italian cola, worth a try I guess Calamari $23 - Decent portion but the calamari pieces were quite small. Tasted great though. Fettuccine Al Burro Di Tartufo E Parmigiano $30 - A nice al denté texture, fresh Parmesan taste. Also served tableside side in a cheese wheel. Lasagne Emiliane $27 - Good lasagna but was slightly burnt on the edge Linguine Allo Scoglio $35 - al denté texture and a good-tasting tomato-based seafood pasta Overall, a good Italian restaurant but there are better Italian restaurants.

La Pizza & La Pasta is a cute little dining area inside Eataly, and it had a laid back ambience. Not as fancy as the other restos in Eataly, and I liked the family dynamic. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us with some Italian pronunciations. We tried the price fixe menu, with a drink each. My boyfriend had the red wine and I had the limoncello spritz. We both had bruschetta, and a gnocchi dish. His came with a generous helping of ricotta underneath while I asked for no dairy. I'd say it wasn't anything special, but if you're looking for a quick Italian bite to eat, definitely stop by and then grab gelato after!

We got there in a perfect timing, no wait say right down and then all of sudden we look up and there's a wait to be seated. Our server was great. The food was excellent. My only regret was not getting the lemon pasta dish. Love the mirror above the pizza making station. What a great eatery and great location with lots to see and walk through.

Came here on a Monday afternoon with one of my girlfriends for lunch and it was quite busy but flowing! We did have a reservation; and was sat down quite quickly. Drinks- ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the table :) why not. Food: - Margherita verace - loved this flavourful, simple margherita pizza. Light, saucy with cheese, definitely hit the spot. -Papparadelle al Ragu di funghi- If you're a fan of funghi pasta order! A mix of wild mushrooms with an umami flavour, I enjoyed it. Take note that pappadadelle pasta is quite thick, and long, but is so flavourful with this sauce & mushrooms! - Cacio e Pepe - a simple cheese and pepper cream sauce. Hits the spot. A perfect al dente spaghetti, topped with a pepper cheesy sauce satisfies. Service - 4/5. Amazing, friendly attentive. Did however forget a few requests after the food came out. Given that it was quite a busy lunch hour, we were okay to understand. Overall experience, would recommend especially if you're roaming around Eataly!

Just okay. Good service helps me give this higher star rating. My son's pizza was good - fire oven cooked, just like in Italy. Our pasta was lack lustre however (ravioli). I didn't find it had a lot of flavour and portion was lacking - I've had better. Atmosphere was far more chaotic than I expected. If you go, be prepared for a cafeteria-style environment.

The largest (I think) of the many restos within the Eatly store. Luckily, we got a seat without waiting, as it seems that larger tables (6 ppl) are easier to get than smaller tables. The staff was friendly and fast. The one thing I like the most about the décor is the mirror at the pizza station. The mirror was directed down on the table so everyone could watch as the chef dressed the pizza with Italy's best ingredients! Deep fried calamari - A good lookin golden fry on the calamari. The batter was nicely seasoned but felt a bit too heavy for my liking. The lemon helps a bit to cut that feeling, but still a bit overwhelming. Next there was a lot of zucchinis in the dish as well, may almost consider calling it deep fried zucchini with calamari instead. Prosciutto & Rucola Pizza - The pizza was a decent pizza. It was Neapolitan style with not too much charring on the crust. The middle was thin and gave way to all the other flavours and toppings. The arugula was helpful in lifting the heaviness of the prosciutto and calamari. Something still felt missing in the dish which didn't make it an extraordinary pizza. Salumiere Pizza - The sausage pizza was very heavy in sausage flavour. Nothing else was there to balance out the flavour. Not my favourite pizza, maybe less sausage or on a thicker American style pizza dough might help with that overwhelming flavour. The food seems a bit unrefined, I am sure they use quality ingredients in their dishes, but the balance in taste in textures seem off in the pizza. I wish they experiment a bit more to get a perfect mix and not just put 'well known' topping combinations in their menu.

I was craving Italian cuisine on the weekend but wanted something authentic. I tried the Trattoria Milano restaurant at EATALY Yorkville before and their food was excellent. Therefore, I decided to go to EATALY Yorkville again for my food adventure and selected La Pizza & La Pasta this time. I sat at one of the best tables in the restaurant with huge windows facing Bloor Street, which made me very happy that day. Burrata E Cucumber The cucumber salad alone is light, crisp, and fresh. Also, the croton added some extra texture to the salad. The Burrata is light, fresh, and very mild cheese flavor. It is not as creamy as I expected. When all the ingredients are mixed together, it is a perfect match and makes it a great appetizer. Prosciutto & Rucola Pizza For some reason, I feel the pizza crust / base of this pizza is much softer and gentler than all the other pizza had before in Toronto. It is more like the pizza I had at mid-end restaurants in Rome and Milan. Therefore, I have reason to believe they are using authentic Italian flour for their pizza dough. The mozzarella, tomato sauce, and arugula flavor are not too strong. The highlight is the 18-Month Rovagnati Prosciutto di Parma which enhances the flavor to the real Italian level. Tiramisu The Tiramisu espresso and rum flavors are extremely strong. It is also not too creamy but very puffy. A perfect classic Italian dessert to end this meal. The overall dining experience at La Pizza & La Pasta is excellent with a nice window view (if you are lucky enough), great food, and professional service. Definitely a great place to enjoy an afternoon.

Food: Margarita pizza- delicious Margarita Di Capri - even more delicious than the original if you can believe that. Lo Spaghetto al pomodoro - fresh pasta with simple but flavourful tomato sauce. Service: Excellent. Our server was attentive, super friendly and knowledgeable. Ambiance: Busy, a little crowded together and the noise level is on the higher side. Good for casual group dinners but I wouldn't recommend for a date or dinner for 2.

Amazing Pizza. Eataly has some great restaurants if you are looking for simple and delicious Italian food.The place is noisy but the service is great and they even recommended a delicious wine to match. It feels very authentic as it seems most of the staff are transplanted Italians

This is great stop while at Eataly. Managed to get a walk-in table for a late lunch but reservations are recommended. Loved the menu with all the Italian favourites. Beef carpaccio so fresh with the truffle and parmeggano shavings. Focaccia Rossa is so delicious it comes warm and soft in a little oven pan. Also tried the neopolitan pizza dough is really soft and exemplifies Neapolitan style. The seafood pasta was really underwhelming. Not a lot of toppings and overall dish was small and tasted like basic pasta in a pan. Tomato sauce for the pasta was too watered down. Would come back to try the other pastas.

Came here on a weekday evening with my friends and I ordered the quattro formaggi gnocchi! First time ever trying gnocchi and I loved the texture of it - so soft and yet slightly dense and bouncy. It reminded me of a nice soft rice cake. It came with gorgonzola piccante DOP, bitto, mascarpone, grana padano DOP, and topped up with toasted walnuts. There was a good amount of cheese that made the plain gnocchi flavourful but I found it was quite heavy. In addition, for the price ($32 with tax and tips), the portion was underwhelming and not worth it. I would get their ready to go portions in their grocery section if I crave it in the future. Service however was great. The servers were attentive and they refilled our waters, cleared our plates, and answered our questions.

Tried this restaurant during Restaurantfest, where you could get 2 dishes for $22. For appetizers we got the fried polenta and salad. The fried polenta was really good, super creamy while being crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The salad was a bit bitter as it had kale. For the entrees, I got the truffle mushroom pizza and butternut squash ravioli. We had to pay a bit extra for one of mains. The pizza was super aromatic with strong mushroom flavours, super thin crust if you like that! The ravioli was a bit too al dente for my liking, but the butternut squash filling was ! We walked around Eataly after and they had grocery items such as pasta, produce, pasta sauces and pastes, and dessert shops too. It was honestly such a maze to navigate though I'm interested in trying the other Eataly restaurants as well after this!

I went here for summerlicious dinner ($35) Some of my party came late so we had to wait awhile before ordering. For appetizers I had the zucchini fritter. It was really doughy, it tasted kind of bland and wasn't enjoyable in my opinion. My friend ordered the risotto balls and it was kind of salty. For main I had AGNOLOTTI DEL PLIN AL BRASATO. It was like a mini ravioli stuffed with veal and pork. This one took awhile for me to finish. I thought it was a bit salty but it was not bad. I tried my friends gnocchi and thought it was quite soft. It was okay but nothing special. Finally I had tiramisu and it was a good portion. For my friends it was the highlight of their meals. It's the same exact tiramisu served at their bakery in Eataly but more fresh! My friend also got a hazelnut gelato and it was pretty good. It tasted like a kindred bueno bar but it was only one scoop. Overall the food was nothing special and the service was kind of lacking. There's time constraints of course, but when we were ready to pay, our server was no where to be seen and another came aggressively asking us to cash out.

Honestly obsessed with this place. We've been to Eataly a few times now and I'm already looking forward to going back again soon. If you go with 2+ people, I would recommend sharing pizza and pasta. Each dish on its own may have been a little too much, but the combination of pizza and pasta together was perfect. Service was also good. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. Overall great experience!

we decided to share a margherita pizza ($16) amongst the table as a starter - when you can't decide between pizza and pasta, why not have both? The middle of the pie was paper thin, covered with an ample amount of the San Marzano tomato sauce but not overly soggy. They didn't skimp on the mozzarella and it was well spread so that each bite had a bit of the mild gooey cheese. The crust was soft and chewy, toasted enough for the aroma but not overly blistered and burnt. We were off to a good start. The house-made tagliatelle in the Bolognese ($24) was also spot on - thick enough to give the fresh pasta some bite but not too thick to become doughy. I just wish there was more of the beef and pork ragu, even if it meant there was less of the pasta, as there was just enough sauce to cover the strands but no extras to swirl the pasta or a piece of bread into. On the plus side, La Pizza & Pasta makes their Bolognese right: the sauce being meat focused rather too heavy on the tomato. There was just so much pasta that they could have decreased the portion size by 10% and people would still leave satisfied. Aside from the carbs, when in season, truffles grace their menu and can either be added onto a dish ($25 for 3 grams for the black winter truffle) or is featured in seasonal plates. It's a good option for those who like to indulge in fresh truffles and give their dish a little bit of je ne sais quois. There are a couple of annoying things to keep in mind - by no means deal breakers, but still good to know: If you have a strong sweet tooth, opt for an earlier visit. La Pizza & La Pasta makes a limited amount of desserts (tiramisu or castagnole) so if you visit for a later dinner (our reservation started at 8:45pm) they will likely be sold out. While they can split bills for the table, they cannot split individual dishes within a bill (say if you share an appetizer with friends), which seems very pre-turn of the century.

I mada lunchtime reservation for one at 1:15 on a Friday and was seated right away. This place is definitely busy, so book ahead of time, especially if you have a larger party. It seemed like they were having some issues with getting dishes out of the kitchen and onto tables, but since I was dining by myself I received my entree pretty quickly. I got the Tagliatelli Bolognese and it was quite good. I've had fresh handmade pasta before and this was a little *too* al dente for my preferences, but the sauce was great and I especially liked the sharp parmesan cheese. I have no complaints about my lunch here and would return to try more dishes.

We had a New Year's Eve lunch here. It wasn't our first time here but we did remember to review and take pics this time! ;) The servers here are very good. Knowledgeable, personable and helpful. It definitely enhances the dining experience. Both the pastas we ordered (seafood and an osso bucco special) were wonderful. Do try the artichokes to start. So good. And we shared the profiteroles for dessert. All in all a great dining experience. On top of that you come out to their Market and can pick up treats to take home. Easiest to get to by transit. (Bay TTC is closest). No street parking but private lots only.

Service: We got onto the wait list and it was quite a long wait, though there are places to sit around so it wasn't so bad. When we were seated, our server didn't seem to remember our table and we waited a while for her to come take our order. The only way I managed to get their attention was when someone was cleaning the adjacent table and accidentally dropped something, which spattered onto my leg and I was able to ask him to get our server. They didn't really check back on our table throughout our meal and it was very hard to get their attention when we wanted something, such as grated parmesan, even though our table was in a very central location. Food: The table featured a sign for a $22 - two course meal, with a choice of app and pasta/pizza. While this menu looks long, it's actually additional cost ($10+) for some options and didn't have many choices within the actual $22 course. We ended up trying the two course meal with an additional pizza on the side. Bruschetta Con Ricotta, Noci, E Miele Di Tartufo - I thought it tasted good, though it's probably because honey on toast can hardly taste bad. It came with one small slice of bread on a sad plate, which already had sauce smeared everywhere on arrival. Vesuvio Con Rapini E Salsiccia - This was fine. I didn't think it was too salted as other reviewers noted - it helped balance the rapini nicely on this dish. The sauce itself wasn't memorable. Salumiere Pizza - This was yummy. The meat and cheese toppings were all delicious. The crust had a good chewyness on the edges but I found it too thin and soggy in the centre - it wasn't able to hold toppings. Overall: Honestly, some chain 'italian' restaurants are probably a better choice. The service and food does not fit with the high quality feel of Eataly.

Nom nom nom!!! Usually, Toronto visits = eating my Italian family's everything from homemade wine, olive oil, prosciutto, salami to tomatoes sauce, handmade pasta and everything! To the point of never eating out. Sadly, since we lost our Mama right before Covid, coming back, reunion trip this time, we were all much more willing to eat out! Naturally, I chose Eataly.. I mean where else! It's fairly new, mega giant 4 story building on Burrad! Can't miss. The vibes are just all Italians/ you feel home-ish. Although only a handful of the staff speaks Italian- we found 3! :) This was a very fun catch up cousins lunch for us! Perfect I haven't seen you in 2 years lunch with all things we know and love. Bonus/ they had weekday lunch sets! An appetizer x pasta or pizza! Such s steal. We all did that. The polenta crisp were super cute, done right. A little salty but not to the point of inedible. Ricotta toast was just beautiful: reminds me of our breakfasts! And the Coppa, freshly sliced! The pastas: since I was feeling homesick, I went with my comfort dish/ spaghetti pomodoro. It's the most simple dish you'll find anywhere but when done right, it's magic! This was magic. We also had two types of raviolos: the English pea and asparagus with brodo reminds me of spring time in Italy! We usually pick asparagus on walks and cook them for lunch! This was a nostalgia on a plate! The carne ravioli was good too. Our server was super nice, funny and great! His shift ended mid-meal. The difference was night and day. We got Pinot Grigio and Prosecco x sparkling water from him within 10 minutes of sitting. Water after took about half hour. Oh well! It was ok since we were still having fun! The end/ we fought to pay the bill! It's the Italian way!!! I thought I won. My cousin left early, sneakily took care of it while I had the bill! The surprise!! Eeek. It was a fun afternoon overall from the food, drinks to ambiance! Grazie Tanti! The post meal sweets and espresso at Venchi = a perfect meal! I'll be back!

Surprisingly had a nice dining experience, comparing to last two failures at the restaurant. Ordered the special: calzone with ricotta and prosciutto cotto; black squid ink pasta with seafood. Both are good and delish. The pasta is light with fresh tomato sauce, seafood are fresh which makes the pasta absorbing all the sauce. Calzone is just comfort-food vibe tasty. Happy meal happy me.

So I'm not entirely sure if this place has enough staff. The hostesses were very kind, waiter (when he came to my table) was very kind. The lady who delivered my pasta threw it at me. Thankfully it didn't end up in my lap. Food tasted nice, they already got rid of my fave item though. Oh also, asking for balsamic almost seems to require a deal or something..... I'd still come back!

The only redeeming aspect of my lunch was the tiramisu. How do you forget the aioli for fried artichokes??

Came here with a friend for an early dinner and we were lucky enough to snag an awesome corner seat near the window. The two of us ordered a Margherita pizza (totally forgot to take a picture before scarfing it down) and the ricotta gnocchi - both amazing by the way! If you plan on splitting the bill, the best strategy would be to order dishes to share since they won't split by dish. The gnocchi could have been a little hotter, but the flavour was incredible. If you like your spice, definitely ask the server for some Chili flakes! The limonata and aranciata were both fantastic drinks as well. I personally loved the Aranciata, wasn't too too sweet but had a lovely fizz to it. All in all, great experience!

Came in not expecting too much but surprisingly the food and service was good. We went in a little after 11am so we got a table right away. The highlight was the Margherita pizza-it wasn't greasy, it was flavourful, and the crust was just right. The ravioli on the other hand was very cheesy and creamy. The sauce was great as well. The only downside was that the Tagliatelle pasta was a bit undercooked than al dante and I personally felt like it lacked sauce/ flavour. I would give it a 4.5 but I'll round it up to 5 stars.

This restaurant is really good: Good location, nice staff, good menu descriptions in English, and a variety of food. The bread here isn't the best however, I felt like it was a bit cold! The cheese and pasta however are spot-on! Lovely seasoning too! Finally, the pizza here is acceptable, in my opinion not the best italian pizza but very good!

Is there a better carb combo than pizza AND pasta? I'll wait while you think about it. You'll also be waiting if you're trying to catch lunch here. It's been over a month since Eataly opened but the lines for this place are nothing to scoff at. We were in line to get a number when another guest came up to me and asked incredulously if this line as just to put our names down. It definitely was! The good thing is that they take your name and will text you once your table is ready so you can walk around while you wait. We somehow got extremely lucky. There's some bar seating but most tables are 2 or 4 person seaters. Even though the hostess told us the wait would likely be 15-20 minutes, we were called back in about 5. Our server was pretty on the ball about explaining the specials and letting us know that they would bring out food as it was ready rather than all at once. It's super hectic in there so it was a little difficult flagging down people for water and the bill eventually. We were told that you could ask anyone for service requests and that the tipping was collective for the entire staff. I shared a Penne alla Norma and a Capricciosa pizza with my boyfriend. The pizza came out first. It had a great mix of ingredients that I enjoy - artichokes, mushrooms, olives, and prosciutto. My boyfriend actually despises olives but he enjoyed these ones so make of that what you will. I did find the middle of the pizza to have a little more liquid than I would have liked since it was thinner crust but it was still pretty good. The pasta came out perfectly al dente and we were warned before hand this is how they make all their pastas with no exception. You could actually see a super thin ring in the cross section of the penne where it still retained a bit of bite. The star of the pasta was the fried eggplant which had a smokey flavour that bordered on being bitter. It was a solid visit overall but I would like to try one of their fresh pastas in the future.

We were excited to try this since we heard good things about it. I made reservations, but when we showed up, they informed us that our reservations were canceled. The zombie-looking hostess didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything. Just looked at me with her cold, dead eyes and told us we had to wait for a table.

Delicious pasta, homemade ravioli with truffle butter and veal. The portion could be a little bigger though.

Honestly I would have given this place a 4 star if it wasn't for what happened with the menu / billing. We came in on a Tuesday night. Put our name in and had a walk around for 40-45 minutes. Overall the food was good. We ordered a pasta and a pizza along with the Burutta as an appetizer. The bread came with some really tasty olive oil. The pizza was excellent with generous toppings. I found our pasta good but not great. WHAT WENT WRONG: The menu had the Burutta for $8. When the receipt came - I did a quick glance and paid the bill. However the total came up higher than I thought it would be I went back to look at the receipt. The Burutta showed up as $18. I did a double take on a new menu from the front desk to make sure it said $8. My server was elsewhere by now. I went to the front to ask the hostess who at this point basically dismissed me with a chuckle that the menu was "printed wrong". I was in a rush so left but I would have definitely taken this up with the manager. I really think they should have just fixed their menu (even just pencilled it in), or warned me it was a pricing error when I ordered.

I love eataly but so far the restaurant experiences have been disappointing. Took my friend here for her birthday. We had lunch prior to going to Immersive Klimt. The servers kept bringing us stuff we didn't order. First it was bread which we thought was standard and everyone received so we ate it. Then another server came by and told us the bread was given to us by mistake and that they were not going to charge us for it....what?? It was your mistake to begin with. Next it was drinks not order by us, a pizza.....it was annoying. On top of that I asked them to bring out dessert for my friends birthday. Found out they didn't that dessert. Why take my request in the first place. The food is mediocre. There are better places for Italian food. You basically come here, get caught up in the hype of eataly and get crap service and food!

La Pizza e La Pasta, one of Eataly's great restaurants at the ManuLife Centre, is comfortably airy, casual, with well spaced tables catered to by attentive, accommodating and friendly staff. As participants of Winterlicious they had a prix fixe lunch of which I tried the delicious trifecta of ( the pictured ) Rucola Salad, Bucatini Cacio e Pepe with Pecorino sauce and a delicious Tiramisù della Nonna, complemented with an excellent Sicilian Settesoli. Buon Appetito!

This place is amazing. Even if you don't eat there , you have to go in a look around. Brings me back to Italy , the best country in the world. The food was amazing and all my co workers love it. Most of the food is hand made .

Yummy and authentic! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the tiramisu was creamy and not too sweet.

Restaurant was pretty tricky to find, but ended up finding it after walking around for a few minutes. For an appetizer I got the BRUSCHETTA CON RICOTTA E MIELE AL TARTUFO. The bread was burnt and very hard to cut/bite, ricotta was tasteless and the honey was overpowering. The pasta entrees were quite small. I got the Ravioli Di Zucca for the entree and it was decent, but they could have added a touch more salt/parmesan. The dessert, PANNA COTTA CON SALSA AL CIOCCOLATO was very delicious and the service was quick and friendly. The dessert and friendly service made up for the bad appetizer and mediocre entree. I feel this is still a good place for lunch or dinner if you know what to order.

Food and drinks were great! Highly recommend their ipas and barolo! Service need to be improved tho ;)

Skip Summerlicious, skip it forever. The servers were the only redeeming quality of this place. When we sat down, the table next to us asked for the manager, and that really set the tone for the entire evening. The zucchini fritters were like the unholy love child of a zucchini and gnocchi texture wise. Thick, doughy, not crunchy, and just... sad. The fried artichoke was acceptable. The pasta was absolutely uninspired. It was just butter and parm. There was no dimension to anything. Throw some thyme on, and maybe it would be worth my time. The other people at my table got the other pastas, and the pizza. The pesto gnocchi was also fine. I'm talking to six out of ten level "fine". And then on to dessert. We finished dinner, just for the server to, bravely, arrive at our table to let us know that instead of the three promised desserts that we could choose from, that they were replacing them with cannolis. Most proper desserts average $7-8/each, which is what gives the summerlicious menus value. It's genuinely offensive that they thought they could replace it with a $2 dessert, and nobody would be upset. I'm pretty sure the Rules of Engagement are three strikes, and you're out. They struck out on all fronts. In the end, we did end up asking to speak to the manager. And let me tell you how that was equally a waste of time. The dessert excuse was that they are busy. It's a Saturday night. And 7:00. It's expected levels of busy. It doesn't, however, explain the mediocre food. And if they're that busy, then they should shut down reservations and take walk-ins only. Because clearly they can't handle the volume. Save your money. Save the calories. Run.

I had the Saliccia Pizza from La Piazza. This was a 10" pizza with "Eataly's Macelleria's fennel sausage, house made mozzarella, Mutti tomato, and roasted mushrooms" Their house made mozzarella and the hand puller dough really made this pizza stand out. The dough was delicious and perfectly baked. The sausage was not just your ordinary sausage, you could taste all the flavours. This 4-slice pizza was around $22 , but it's definitely worth each bite! (Maybe not an everyday pizza but as a special treat once in a while!) We ordered through ritual and right when we finished grocery shopping it was ready for pick up ! (about 15 minutes) They have no dine in option anymore, but they do have an Christmas decorated area outside for you to eat.

It was my first dining experience at eataly and we chose this restaurant because of the extensive menu. Many reviews suggest the food is mediocre but my friends and I still wanted to test it out. Everything we ordered was okay...definitely not worth it for the price point but the service was good. Would recommend if you never been, but wouldn't visit again.

Tip: you can make a reservation online for parties 2-4. My party of two arrived on time for our reso. This place is super busy and I feel like the servers are hectic all the time and in a rush so don't expect attentive service. We sat down, got our water, the waitress mentioned the specials and off we went to order. We ordered a prosciutto, basil, artichoke, olive pizza and a pasta dish that came with bolognese meat sauce. Dishes arrive as they are completed and not all at once. You get three pieces of bread to share between two people with some olive oil to start. The dishes were just okay tasting. I've had better pasta / pizza dishes elsewhere. The pasta tasted fresh but also a little bland. The server doesn't asked if you want pepper or cheese with your dish. You have to ask them yourself, which we weren't aware of. The pizza was a little too watered down. All the toppings were dripping off because it made the crust soggy. The taste was okay, nothing spectacular that you have to travel all the way to Eataly to eat it. The portions are on the small side so for bigger eaters, you might need a few more side dishes. Price point is what you would expect a restaurant at bloor and yonge to be. So I would say it's pricer for the quality, service, food portion and overall experience. Overall it was a nice experience to try but I probably wouldn't return. One complaint I do have is, if you are entering Eataly from the manulife centre entrance, you will be super confused as to how to get to Eataly. There isn't really proper signage a that directs you there. Enter through the main Eataly entrance, which is just 100m from the manulife main doors on Bloor.

Went to this place in NY for lunch and left with Covid.. Tried it again in Toronto for dinner and was disappointed. The meals for lunch seem to be the same size for dinner. We had to order double dishes as my crew was still hungry. It's more expensive in Toronto regardless of the exchange. Ridiculous prices all around! My son wanted a kids spaghetti and only eats spaghetti noodles. He already ate his kids lunch size pizza for his dinner and we asked if they would give him spaghetti noodles instead of the penne noodles. They server said no, they won't substitute and wouldn't even ask. He asked if he would try the penne, I told him he was autistic and would only eat spaghetti noodles...it was as a sensory thing for him...he said he couldn't do anything??? What?? I told you my kid was still hungry and we came there to eat??? This place is tucked in the upstairs of a dead upscale mall. I feel like there could be so many better locations. Stick with Eataly in NY or Chicago. They also have no Coke or Pepsi products, which I feel is a bit of a miss.

The shopping of Italian products is beautiful to see and experience the small European flare with "oggettini", everywhere. The lovely host and servers were wonderful with their professionalism. However, we went to eat at Trattoria for a sit down lunch, frittura di pesce (batter fried assorted fish). $32. As well as an 8" Fungi Pizza (mushroom) $21. This where the experience disappointed us. Who are the chefs abc get some true Italian chefs if you want to eat well. STOP calling this an Italian restaurant-- it is NOT, you can pretend to be eating Boston Pizza or Olive Garden cuisine! The heavy salted batterer around the fish was horrible, and the pizza had enough grease at the bottom to fry another 10 lbs of fish. Who chooses these recipes?

As a Toronto-based foodie, I really had no choice but to check out Eataly shortly after its splashy opening. We were really there to check out this restaurant, though, so after spending a bit of time wander the joint's well-stocked aisles, we decided to get in line just prior to La Pizza E La Pasta's 11:00 opening. After being shown to our table, we began perusing the surprisingly extensive menu. I decided to go with the Tagliolini al Ragu Bianco ("Thin, housemade string pasta, white short rib braised ragù, Pecorino Romano DOP, thyme"), while my dining companion opted to try one of their pizzas. A few minutes after ordering, we were presented with a complimentary plate of fresh bread and some olive oil for dipping. The bread is delicious and certainly heightened by the tasty, above-average oil. My dish arrived shortly after that, and it certainly looked incredible. But one bite told me that looks aren't everything. The most obvious problem was that the pasta was wildly overcooked, to the point where it was so soggy as to be virtually inedible (which, for a joint crowing about its homemade pasta, is pretty much the worst sin that can be committed). Of course, I could've looked past the squishy pasta had the sauce been exemplary. It was not exemplary. It was oddly tasteless, somehow, as if the chef had taken the short rib and cooked it down without any spices or even salt and pepper. It was, perhaps unsurprisingly, just a flavorless mess of mush. I finished the dish but only because I wanted to get my money's worth. ($19 for *this*?) The service wasn't great, either. Our waiter was barely present, and when he brought the bill (without asking, I might add; what if we'd wanted to order more food?), it was for a different table. I'm curious to try some of Eataly's other offerings, but I can't imagine I'll ever return to La Pizza E La Pasta.

Great food and customer service. I got a chance to walk around the grocery store before I went into La pizza E La pasta. We arrived at 9:45PM and got seated right away- (make sure you make a reservation or you'll be waiting for x amount of time for a table). As soon as we got seated we were offered complimentary bread and olive oil. I ordered Tagliatelle, calzone, suppli. Blood orange to drink and ordered gelato (which is around the corner from the restaurant) overall all experience amazing. There's lots to see and make sure to give yourself enough time to walk around ect.

We didn't have to wait too long for a seat because we sat at the bar on the side. The seating area was quite tight and it was hard to communicate with the people I was with. It was nice that we were able to see them cook the pizza in the fire oven. The staff was helpful and friendly. The suggested we do a family-style dinner, aka share everything. The reason why they suggested that is because everything comes at different times. I don't have all the food pictures from that night, but I posted the ones I had! The food was underwhelming. Their al dente pasta was definitely not al dente. They did warn us that the dry pasta will be a bit harder, but we did not expect it to be that hard - did not enjoy that dish. Their fresh pasta reminded me of noodles LOL. it's a bit chewy like noodles, it doesn't remind me of pasta at all. It was still good and the flavours were good. My favourite dish was the pizza - you can't go wrong with a fire oven pizza!

Wandered in without a reservation on a Friday evening. The service was great from the start. We had a nice spot at the bar looking over Bloor street or the open kitchen depending on where you looked. Started with olives (nice mix with a hint of citrus), and then shared a salumeria pizza and a lobster gnocchi (a special). More than enough food for two people. Sharing is prkbably the better way to go as the items come out fresh as they are ready. I like that this could be a spot for a date or a quick bite while shopping. I will be back!
