This restaurant is in the old Hog & Ale spot, between Bulgogi and Goodwill. Check their hours, as they close for 3 hours between Lunch and Dinner. It is also dark from the outside, so may appear closed when, in fact, good food awaits.
I ran in to place a to-go lunch order. Did not have the appetite for a full meal, so I went with the Chicken/Andouille sub w/fries. While waiting, I stood at the bar, watched an excellent travelogue, and spoke with a very engaging man I suspect to be an owner. Delightful conversation, and now I want to dine in. They have a modest beer/wine selection - but very nice.
The fries, pictured, are typical crinkle cut fare... but they were fried CORRECTLY - they were perfectly seasoned, and still crispy when I returned to my office. I want to go back just to drink a beer and eat more fries. I got my lunch 2 hours ago... the fries are still crispy. How is that possible?
The Sub was efficiently constructed. Chicken breast, freshly grilled; half a link of sausage, freshly grilled; lettuce, 2 tomato slices, nice aioli, grilled hoagie roll. I actually cut the chicken breast in half, lengthwise, so it would fit on the roll, but I am glad they did not, because it kept the chicken juicy for the trip to my office.
This was simply affordable, approachable good food prepared and presented with some thought and good intentions. I'll be back.uu
