"Co-owners Jose Garcia and Estefania Ladner are relocating their beloved neighborhood sushi spot to a larger space inside 10 Prospect, the new real estate development at the corner of Prospect Street and Somerville Avenue. According to a press release, the relocated sushi restaurant and a separate new ramen concept will both debut sometime this winter. In the meantime, the original location at 290 Somerville Avenue will remain open until the new venues are up and running." - Erika Adams
"Ebi Sushi is a neighborhood go-to in Union Square where on any given night you’ll find DC transplants sitting next to long-time residents who can still remember being blown away when a sushi spot took over the body shop next to Dunkin. They’re all here for exceptional sushi, like the tuna/shiso leaf Somerville Roll, torched miso salmon nigiri, skillfully-sliced sashimi, and maybe the best omakase deal in Boston (five pieces for $28 or ten for $58). Aside from sushi, the springy udon, silky agedashi tofu, and teriyaki are all crowd-pleasers. The full bar and strong drinks keep the space feeling lively even mid-week, when the rest of Union Square often feels a bit sleepy." - tanya edwards

"Beloved Ebi Sushi has been drawing neighborhood fans since 2011, and it came back better than ever after an impressive renovation in 2021. The main menu features grilled fish, chirashi bowls, and other classic Japanese dishes, while a rotating selection of sushi specials may include the likes of uni or an absolutely unbeatable torched tuna belly." - Nathan Tavares
"By all appearances, Ebi just looks like a casual neighborhood sushi spot. That’s exactly what it is, but don’t make the mistake of thinking this is a typical place whose menus you step over on your way into your apartment. The sushi here - particularly the daily specials which often include things like torched salmon belly with honey-lime marinade and truffle scallop tartare expect - is seriously good." - dan secatore
