How Ebisu Endo Became One of Japan’s Best Sushi Restaurants - Eater

"After his training, Endo went on to open his own restaurant, Ebisu Endo, which has become one of Japan’s best sushi restaurants after just one year. Now, he hopes to build on what he learned, putting his own spin on classics like eel, sea bream, tuna, and squid, while ushering in the next generation of Tokyo’s sushi masters." - Terri Ciccone

Our friends sent us here as a honeymoon treat, and it was a highlight of our trip. We are so grateful for the deliciousness, hospitality, and culture this experience offered us! Endou is a fast friend and extremely inspiring chef. It’s clear that he loves his craft and is a top-tier person overall. I feel proud to be a human being after this experience. It’s hard to explain. Just go!

We are a couple from Boston and we visited last winter and we can’t wait to be back. it’s one of those meals that will blow your mind gastronomically and intellectually. Chef Endo is not only a true master at his craft but also a deep thinker about food, travel and life. He was very friendly and curious, and the restaurant service was refreshing and nothing short of perfect.

Wow, lots of silly one star or two star reviews. I have to say that these seem almost fake, because none of what they’re saying exist or make sense (like being charged for the chef cancelling, when you pay at the end of the meal, lol!). My wife and I just got out of the experience and it was amazing. We’ve been to a few, specifically in the US, and while they’re good, they’re not anywhere close to what we just experienced. Let’s break it down: The chef: he was very friendly, spoke great English, explained the dishes to us, and engaged with us to make us feel welcome. The staff: attentive, disciplined, friendly. The food: fresh, unique, full of flavors. There will be something for everyone due to the variety provided. The environment: simple, elegant, clean, and social (if you want to). We loved our experience and will definitely go back if we get a chance.

Wow! This place was unreal. The best sushi experience I’ve ever had. Endo, the Sushi Master Artist curated every piece with precision and his attention to detail was second to none. Every single piece was incredible. Also, they have an excellent curation of sake and wine. This place was worth every penny and usually I leave Omakase’s feeling underwhelmed. Not this place. This place is A++ Highly Highly Recommend! We will be back!

For sure one of the best sushi-ya in Tokyo. The chef hold onto tradition while adding his own twists to standards. Very personable and attentive service yields a fantastic dining experience not to be missed. Expect to pay $300+ per person with drinks for dinner.

Great Omakoze experience! I was a tourist, but had a great time sitting with locals. The chefs were friendly and accommodating to all. It's all a bit pricey but worth it for a treat.

Book at your own risk. Made a reservation one month prior using the Omakase site, and when we showed up to the restaurant it wasn't even open. The elevator wouldn't even go to the floor, and the kind staff at the restaurant below them tried to help us call them, but it was clear no one even showed up to open the restaurant that day. We never received any notification from the restaurant our booking was cancelled either. I've never encountered this with such a highly rated business, so even if the food is great, they might just not show up to open. There's a similar review five months earlier than this one from someone with the same experience. There are so many options in the area for Omakase, so look elsewhere to prevent this risk.

A fantastic, worthwhile experience. The chef and his team were delightful to interact with. The presentation, ambience and food were second to none. One of the most memorable dining experiences.
