"The casual Anderson Mill Japanese restaurant’s four-course $60 dinner special includes a 10-piece chef’s choice nigiri array, wagyu sushi pieces, and bluefin tuna sashimi, for a really great deal. There are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

"Chronicle critic Jessi Cape reviewed North Austin Japanese restaurant Ebisu this week, and found great sushi, approachable sushi. She noted on all three of her visits, she was able to walk in without a reservation. On a first visit, she went in a large party with mixed sushi knowledge and was “genuinely pleased with every offering.” Her favorite was the lobster roll: While Cape praised the size of the rolls compared to American servings, she also found some to be too large, and thought many of the bold rolls were “too saucy for my liking.” Outside of sushi, she found a favorite in the “wonderful” sake mac n cheese, blistered shishitos, and pork katsu with “a lovely golden fry.” She also appreciated the “solid” cocktail menu. She closed by praising the restaurant’s focus on excellent food." - Erin Russell

Google
Ebisu sushi is excellent and the atmosphere of the restaurant is good. The times that I’ve gone it’s been a little crowded though and sometimes we’ve had to wait for seating. It’s a little better if you wait until after the main dinner hour. They have nice desserts for birthday guests!

I love this restaurant for sushi. Ordered the following: 1. California roll 2. Sexy roll 3. Crunchy roll 4. Philadelphia roll 5. Sake crunch I am Indian and I loved every item.. they were all extremely well made and delicious. The quail egg shot is so cute and tiny. That's the best I could do with the pictures (sorry for bad quality). Hope it helps. 100% recommend. The hostess at the front was so friendly!

Could not remember the name of the server but he was very nice and accommodating, was very attentive and helpful! Was very knowledgeable about the menú and was able to help us out with the questions we had, the food was delicious and they gave us a free dessert as it was my girlfriend’s birthday at the time, and the drinks were awesome as well which our server also mixed! Great experience and would visit this restaurant again! The server was also very attentive to each table despite how busy it was!

I looooooove getting sushi here! Everyone always makes me feel like I’m a part of the Ebisu family. The sushi is AMAZING! And if you like to save money, that Mon-Fri Happy Hour special is top tier! *chefs kiss*

Google
A classy place with some really good sushi and a full menu with Japanese and Korean fare. We came in for a sushi snack but was really tempted seeing Galbi and Bulgogi on the menu! The dirty 6th roll was delicious and the sashimi was really good. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

The atmosphere and food are both excellent. Service is exceptional. One favorite of mine is the yellowtail sashimi. The collar is cooked usually grilled after eating the sashimi. The best dish in Austin. I finished the mail with sashimi and sushi order. All fish taste ver fresh. Some of the sauces are good. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Google
The food was delicious but the service really bad, when been waiting in the table more than 15 minutes just to get a drink The waitress was very slow and when she went to take our order she told us that it was already the last call in the kitchen and in the drinks. Our reservation was at 9:00pm but we arrived at 8:45pm and they didn't serve us the food until 9:30pm (45 minutes later) because she didn't take the order, then she charged us in two tickets because she said that the bartender was already leaving and he had to grab his tip. The service is very bad but the food was delicious.

Google
This establishment surpassed my expectations in a most delightful way, despite the mixed reviews I had encountered. The venue itself is aesthetically pleasing both inside and out, creating a genuinely relaxing atmosphere. The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and of outstanding quality. The customer service was exemplary. We arrived as a large group, and Elizabeth, who attended to us, demonstrated remarkable patience and attentiveness. She ensured that all our orders were accurately taken and provided timely check-ins to refill our waters. Her service truly epitomized excellence. Overall, I highly recommend this place. They accept both cash and card payments and offer their own parking spaces.

Yelp
Definitely a slept on favorite. Solid sushi options and I haven't found a dish that was chef's choice that I didn't like. Came here during Austin Restaurant Week and absolutely loved it and have come back a few times since. A nice spot and some decent cocktails. I'll have to hit this place up when it's HH

Yelp
First time dining here and we had made reservations through yelp but the restaurant were unable to locate our reservation. Luckily I had saved and screen shot the reservations made so the hostess still honor it to seat us. The service was really fast and our waitress took care of us. I must say the low star rating is not the service because it was definitely a 5 star service. My rating is based on the food quality. Presentation was great but the sushi fish were fishy or tasteless. Which is an indicator that the fish quality is subpar or old. We had ordered the following: * 3 scallop nigiri -- 1/5 the scallop was thick but there was so much wasabi that it literally burned all of my nose hair and I had to close my eyes to bare the chew to swallow. I am a fan of wasabi but my lawd that was fire in the hole type of wasabi. So over powering that I couldn't enjoy the bit and the scallop taste was blown away. * mango tango roll - 4/5 the best roll there. I didn't think I would like the mango but. It came out to be the best roll. Unique * Cherry blossom roll - 1/5: I don't know how sushi can taste bland but this roll was. * Philadelphia roll - 1/5: fishy smell and bland * sunshine roll : 1/5 chunks of fish and looked nothing like the picture. Fishy sushi and was not good. This was the worst roll I've ever had. * 2 bluefin tuna nigiri - fishy 1/5 * 2 salmon nigiri - fishy 1/5 * coconut lychee mojito 5/5: best ever. Never had one before and it's their signature drink. So good and refreshing. Crisp and well balanced. Loved it! Do I recommend this place? Sadly no, the sushi was not good quality. If you decided to, definitely order the coconut lychee mojito because that was fire !

Yelp
My son is having surgery at Dell and I was looking forward to treating myself to some sushi through Uber Eats. The sushi arrived warm and sloppy, but I was willing to give it a chance anyway. I got the Yami Yami roll. I'm sorry, but it was so bad. The fish on the top had no flavor, the crabmeat was very fishy and the "spicy tuna" on the inside was so dry and fishy and honestly tasted (and looked) like canned tuna. I couldn't even eat it.

Daniel S.

Yelp
I visited during Austin Restaurant Week to try something new, but unfortunately, I was a bit underwhelmed with the experience. The tasting menu offered four dishes for $60, which is a good deal. The meal started with tuna crudo and wagyu sushi, with the wagyu being the standout dish of the night. Next was the chef's choice of 10-piece nigiri. While not bad, some of the toppings didn't pair well with the fish. The final dish, the yuzu scallops, was my least favorite. They were a bit chewy and didn't taste as fresh as I'd hoped. In fact, a few other dishes could have been fresher as well. Service was fine, though nothing particularly memorable. On the plus side, there's plenty of easy parking. However, I probably wouldn't return, as it's a long drive and I can find fresher options closer to town.

Xia B.

Yelp
I ordered online, and was shocked that the $4.50 unagi (eel) nigiri had less than half the amount of rice that's usually balled. This is a tiny morsel and definitely not worth the price to me considering how the ingredients don't seem fresh. I also ordered a Cherry Blossom roll. I won't pay $17 for a single sushi roll like this again either. Check out the photos attached.

Bee B.

Yelp
Brought my parents in for some sushi after Christmas Day. We ordered the sushi boat to share and the hot Stone A5 wagyu. You get about 8 pieces of wagyu for $40. You get to do quick sears on the hot stonea and cook to your liking. My favorite bites are still the uni nigiri and chutoro tuna. It was not super busy, but wasn't empty either. Our waiter was attentive and helpful considering he was running all the tables (seemed the case). Always an enjoyable experience and my parents had a good time.

Nicole G.

Yelp
We were surprised by the moody and upscale look of the dining room when we first walked in. The restaurant looks very nice and clean. I got the chirashi bowl and it was fine. My boyfriend got a few rolls and one of them was missing a component but we didn't bother to ask for a correction. This spot seems good for a celebration since it's nice looking but I wouldn't come here again for the food.

Dan W.

Yelp
We went Sunday after church...what a great find. Appetizer of Crab Rangoon, Miso Soup then the Pork Bulgoki. All were fresh and tasty! We will definitely be returning. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Ordered through UberEats... it's was mid/but fresh. I would suggest getting eel sauce and or spicy mayo. Don't get me wrong it was delicious but it just lacked the kick that I was expecting and the 2pks of soy sauce wasn't enough and the "heart attack" did nothing but give me heart burn lol but you know cooked jalapeño really doesn't have much heat but it was good and I'd definitely order again. Reasonably priced as well.

Catherine P.

Yelp
Ebisu was good! I ordered sushi takeout from here, and I got one of their combos that came with a salmon sushi roll and a few pieces of nigiri. It was good, except I did not like that they included wasabi on the rice on their nigiri pieces. However, the salmon sushi roll pieces were large, and the fish tasted good for the most part. I did not got to the restaurant, so I cannot speak about the service or ambiance at the restaurant. 7/10, I might order it again and visit the spot in person.

Yelp
I was sucked into this place due to their new ads before realizing I've been here. This time, it really cemented my opinion of this place. A mediocre Korean-Japanese sushi spot that doesn't differ much from the random places to get a to-go roll. First, the table was a bit sticky. It's not uncommon for these casual places to not have everything in tip-top shape, but it started the dinner off quite unpleasantly. Not a place to take a date or celebration to. My server was quite slow with taking our order, plus she spoke at such a quiet decibel that after she left, my partner turned to me and said he didn't hear a thing she had said (to which I agreed). The wait between getting water and getting our order taken was just oddly long to the point where it was just awkward seeing her walk back and forth over and over when we sat right by the place to run food with our menus stacked for a good period of time. It was just that sort of awkwardness where you get once sentence out and she's gone off before you're able to finish your full request. It might've been because she had a 6-top, but considering that table was next to us, it was just also weird to be skipped over. Our crab croquettes were.... Creamy. I suppose the title is wasn't a lie, but the consistent of the croquette is less of mashed potatoes and more of potato purée. This place also has a habit of really laying on a ton of spicy mayo and eel sauce on a ton. The ramen was a big disappointment. It's just as pricey as dedicated ramen joints but without any of the good flavor. It comes with a good amount of chashu, but the vegetables are from frozen veggie bags you'd use with fried rice and there are what seemed like previously-canned bamboo shoots. The sushi is actually the redeeming part of this place, or just generally what comes from the sushi bar. My rolls were good, and the menu has a very generous selection of American style sushi. I was really craving some specialty rolls from a place like this, and even the beef options from the bar looked really good. Overall, I'd rather have considered this place as a to-go option (which they do) since dining in wasn't very enjoyable.

Melinda N.

Yelp
Service staff were great. I came here for a 7PM reservation on a saturday at the start of Austin's Restaurant week. So half of the table participated and the other half tried other items on the menu. as part of the $60 menu, you get 10 pieces of nigiri. The staff was able to name all of the fish. I was so sad that the rice was hard and really took away from the fish. So halfway through, i just ate the fish. I really liked everything but if the rice is not even good at a sushi restaurant, you're in trouble. I think next time if this happens to me, i'll say something so that the chefs have time to fix the issue. Because everyone eating after us, is getting a bad batch of rice. also, the menu stated that the snow maiden was $23 and we were charged $41. Please update your prices :)

Natalie G.

Yelp
Terrible service. Waited an hour on Valentine's Day to be seated after already having a reservation. Took another hour to receive food and the order was wrong. Had no urgency to give us the correct order and waited forever.

Elissa P.

Yelp
This spot is a hit or miss for me. Sometimes the food is well prepared and other times appears sloppy (too much sauce) so I can't say consistency is their strong suit. I've eaten here several times. One time the live music was so loud we left. My favorite is to sit at the bar and order one item at a time and savor the dish. Hopefully it's a "hit" night!

Yelp
Ratings by categories as following: Atmosphere - clean, spacious Service- it was so-so, very delayed, and waitress dropping food and other things right in front of us multiple times. Food - sushi rolls were blend no flavor, some of them the fish did not taste fresh at all; tonkatsu Ramen, portion was small, pork came, was super thick slice and was too chewy; sake don came with mostly pickled vegetable with only limited fish on top; be aware, shishito pepper, come with spicy sauce on top, and spicy edamame, came with a good amount of garlic in sauce, if you are not a garlic person, do not order spicy. And the hot tea we ordered came out not hot at all, worst tea ever, they tasted like warm tap water mix with muddy sods Our overall experience was not satisfied, not sure how this restaurant got such a high rating, since the quality of the foods served here is definitely not up to par compared to the east coast. I guess it's just different standard.

Will J.

Yelp
We waited an hour when we already had a reservation. Once seated, (right next to the waiting area), we waited 30 minutes to get our drinks and order. It took another hour to get our order, and it wasn't even correct. The food was mediocre for the wait. Some servers were sympathetic, the one given to us was not.

Victoria H.

Yelp
Their happy hour is AWESOME. One of my best friends & I go here often to get food off the happy hour menu & it is just so stinking good. The staff is very friendly & helpful. I love being in there when it gets a little later because they dim the lights. My friend & I say we are on a date when that happens lol. I've had many things from their menu & honestly you can't go wrong with any of it. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the roll that I love, but look for the one that says it has sliced lemon on it or ask your server. You won't be sorry!

Jasmine S.

Yelp
What used to be our 5 star casual sushi spot in Austin is slowly becoming a 1 star... They keep raising their prices and lowering the quality. The crudo dishes are doused in chili sauce that's intolerable to the point you can't taste or enjoy the fish. The nigiri is now the price of 2 pieces for just 1 piece. The rolls are wrapped very poorly and always fall apart without fail. We were never crazy about the ambiance but we put up with it because we enjoyed the service and fish quality, but the last few times the service was horrible and for these prices you're better off going to sake social at Uchiko.

Tonia A.

Yelp
Food was decent. We ordered some hot sake and it wasn't hot. It was room temperature so we had to send it back. Service was good! Despite, they only had one server working on the Sunday afternoon we decided to go. Ambiance was nice. The restaurant was clean, well ventilated. Overall, it was a decent experience and I may return when I'm in the area.

Fjola U.

Yelp
Arrived to Austin for a weekend trip and went to Ebisu at 9:30 pm. The food was amazing. We had rolls we had never had before and they were so light and fresh. The Waygu hot stone was so delicious! 512 roll and Sex on the Beach roll are a must! 10/10 recommend!

Kailani T.

Yelp
This is my first time here so far I really like it because it's not crowded and I got here around 3pm I was seated alittle while after I arrived! The server greeted me immediately and let me know they have great sushi! I didn't order anything to drink because it seems like they only have bottle options for sake but the server could just be trying to up-sale so I received good ole tap water lol But I ordered 4 rolls one thing I really like about this place is it's very clean and quiet I wish I had my book with me! So I ordered the fried oyster roll, spider roll , red dragon roll and the crunchy roll Crunchy roll taste like a California roll just with shrimp tempura very delicious 10 out of 10 The spider roll has excellent flavor. I love the soft shell crab cooked to perfection 10 out of 10 The red Devil roll had a spice to it, fit perfectly with the Shrimp 10 out of 10 The fried oysters roll oysters were cooked to perfection, but I was surprise by a pickle vegetable inside so I give an 8 out of 10 it was still good I will be coming back to this place to try more rolls if you haven't been here go check it out!

Silvia M.

Yelp
Ebisu is easily my favorite sushi restaurant in Austin! Their happy hour menu is affordable and incredibly tasty. My husband and I have gone so many times and we have never waited for a table EVER, which is shocking!! The service is always quick and prompt, and we can't praise them enough for that! I also love that the ambiance is really quiet and nonchalant. Our favorite happy hour menu items include the Sake Mac & Cheese, the nigiri, and for the rolls we like the Alaskan roll (this one has salmon and lemon garnish on top so it's citrusy) and the Albacore Delight (this one is a little spicy). Off the regular menu the Cherry Blossom and Ebisu Roll are a 10/10 must try!

Malek F.

Yelp
Ebisu Japanese Restaurant's seafood ramen disappoints with lackluster flavor and a shortage of seafood, mainly featuring vegetables with only a sparse inclusion of a couple of mussels. Notably absent are essential elements like shrimp, squid, and scallops, while the absence of an egg further diminishes the dish. The sushi fares no better, lacking flavor and failing to impress with its taste. The disappointment extends to the quality of the seafood, as evidenced by the uncleaned mussel shells found in their seafood ramen. This oversight further detracts from the dining experience, highlighting a lack of attention to detail and quality control in the kitchen. Overall, the dining experience at Ebisu leaves much to be desired, especially for those expecting authentic and flavorful Japanese cuisine.

Don M.

Yelp
This experience was awesome, delicious food, big selection, wonderful staff and chef, very nice and relaxing music, very very very highly recommended.

Mallory P.

Yelp
Checked out Ebisu for a Saturday evening birthday celebration at the sushi spot was a delight. Early reservations meant a relaxed, uncrowded ambiance, really subtle. The menu was a sushi lover's dream with ample choices. We ordered an array of rolls, edamame, miso soup, and standout crab wontons. The 'Dirty Sixth' roll, a waitress-recommended gem, stole the show with its incredible flavors. A perfect blend of delicious food, cozy vibes, and attentive service made this dining experience truly memorable. Great spot if you're looking for sushi north of the city.

Clau R.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of checking out Ebisu this weekend with some friends and was not disappointed! We shared 8 different rolls (the picture attached only has 5 of them) and everything was so delicious! Each roll was extremely fresh, well-made, and tasty, and service was attentive and quick. Plenty of parking available, too, and the actual ambiance is great. We had made a reservation and arrived a little late, but we called ahead of time and let Ebisu know and they were extremely accommodating, immediately seating us when we got there. All in all, a great experience, and I will definitely be back!

Michelle L.

Yelp
We celebrated Mother's Day at Ebisu for lunch and sat in one of the separated rooms in the back. It had a family friendly vibe, perfect for the 3 kiddos in our group. None of the waitstaff smiled, but I imagine it may have been because it was a holiday and they were busy. There were some minor issues where we had sushi, but no soy sauce, missing items, or had to ask multiple times for things. As a warning for anyone with a shellfish allergy - the rainbow roll comes with shrimp. Thankfully I don't have an allergy, but had I known shrimp was included, I would've ordered something different. The menu states, "California roll with tuna, salmon, red snapper and avocado and green onion on top." The waitress insisted that shrimp is usually on a rainbow roll (despite it not being listed on the menu) and so C ate those two pieces and I had the rest. I read beforehand that the sushi rolls are heavy on the sauces, so I had the ponzu sauce on the side. The sushi tasted fresh and the sauce was unnecessary. It was tasty just with wasabi and soy. The sweet and spicy sauce that comes with the brussels sprouts was the crowd favorite and I dream of being able to recreate it someday and pour it on everything. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and were thankful to get a reservation on a busy holiday.

Heather T.

Yelp
The food here is incredible. Truly delicious and moderately priced for huge portions. The only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is the live music. It's truly awful. Really horrible, loud, and feels very "in your face " We will try takeout next time. I do enjoy that there usually isn't a long wait or big crowds. The varieties of Asian cuisine they feature is impressive, as well. Overall, good value for the money and a tasty meal.

Neeharika P.

Yelp
Surprisingly average restaurant considering its high ratings on Yelp and elsewhere. Lunch special "bento box" was $18 (!) and didn't even come in a bento box. Presentation and price aside, the food was average at best. Gyoza was not crispy, sushi was bland and the spicy sesame chicken was over sauced and weirdly had corn and peas. Not sure which Asian cuisine that falls under.. Service was good and the ambiance felt outdated but spacious.

Alan C.

Yelp
I must I have gone to many sushi restaurants. I truly enjoyed this restaurant. The sushi was so fresh and tasty. Great vegetarian options. Well worth the price. I feel you would enjoy the service and ambiance. Great for dining in or takeout. Average money spent will be probably 40 to 80 dollars due to so many great options. Great for leftovers the next day. I will definitely come back again. I don't give 5 stars out very easily. Thank you for Great sushi. Enjoy.

Ellie S.

Yelp
We tried this place for happy hour since the price for drink was very reasonable, so thought it would be good to have some fresh Sashimi with hot sake! They have pretty spacious indoor seatings so you can have personal space for sure which was good. It's a Japanese restaurant, but they also have some Korean food like Bibimbap. I liked they have a large range of fresh fish for Sushi and Sashimi, for happy hour, they had some hot food like gyoza, fried rice, tempura, there was also crudo, salad, nigiri and rolls for the happy hour menu. We started with hot sake and draft Dos Equis. For food, we got Brussels sprouts, fried chicken, perfection roll, as well as sashimi sampler. I expected crispy brussels sprouts, it was stir-fried with sweet chill sauce, so I didn't like it much. Fried chicken we got had weird off flavor, we had to ask our server to take it back. The only thing we liked was sashimi. It came with 15 pcs tuna, salmon, albacore and it was all fresh. Perfection roll was deep fried roll, but we didn't really like it since it was served with too much sauce on top. Overall, this would be a good place just for Sashimi and hot sake, but other than that, I wouldn't really recommend, to be honest. All staff was very attentive and food came out pretty quick.

Rachel W.

Yelp
I stumbled upon Ebisu unexpectedly as a last minute dinner decision based on my sushi cravings on a Sunday evening. It was pretty packed that night. There are so many great food choices on the menu. We ordered spicy edamame as an appetizer, which is want too spicy and just right. As an entree, I ordered scallop nigiri, rainbow roll, and yellowtail roll. I have zero complaints about the food. The quality of fish is great. Our server was pretty nice and checked on us often, which I was very appreciative of. I will definitely be coming back for more sushi in the future.

Alan H.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour to give this place a try for sushi. Previously came here for ramen. The sushi was good but they had a consistent crispy chili sauce on top of everything. Which works well for unagi nigiri and the mixed crude plate but it was awkward for sashimi. I feel like the crispy chili sauce is masking the flavors of the fish or masking the freshness of the fish. Lychee mojitos we're a drink to have with the sushi! Overall I'll probably stick to their ramen if I was to return. Since the sushi would be overpriced in my opinion if it was not at happy hour pricing.

Katie K.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour - what a treat! They have great hh menu...we ordered spicy edamame, nigiri, 2 of the crudos (b/c we loved it so much), and a seaweed salad. We also tried the Cherry Blossom roll. Would highly recommend this place. We'll definitely be back.

Edgar S.

Yelp
The food and service this time around was HORRIBLE. The fish made me sick because it wasn't fresh and had a strong taste of old fish. I ordered the baked mussels and they had about half a pound of nasty value brand cheese on four mussel shells. The only good fish I had was the O toro nigiri and garlic clams. All the rolls kept falling apart as soon as you picked them up they had no consistency whatsoever. The service was bad, so bad we had to ask for our drinks. Total disappointment.

S B.

Yelp
I've noticed a significant decline in the quality of food at this establishment over the past year despite increasing prices. My recent visit was particularly disappointing, with a 40-minute wait for my food and a forgotten drink order. What's more, the waitresses seemed more interested in gossiping with each other than attending to customers, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Unfortunately, the subpar service has sealed my decision not to return to this place again.

Nicolle M.

Yelp
TLDR- Good sushi but the amount of sauce and toppings downgrades it a notch, atmosphere doesn't match the price point but the drinks are fantastic! We decided to try out the happy hour menu on a Friday. Parking is easy it's in a shopping center, and there was no wait. The hostess was wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt and didn't look presentable which didn't match the nice wood interior of the restaurant or price point. There are also neon and flashing signs everywhere with specials on them that are really cheesy. It's a shame because with a more presentable host, and removing all the flashing signs the interior ambiance would actually be very classy. You can tell they spent money when they built this restaurant. The food came out quick and the fish quality was good, however everything we ordered that wasn't sashimi had a ton of sauce and crunchy bits on top. It drowned out a lot of the sushi flavor, which was too bad because the sashimi was really good. They also used the same 2-3 sauces on everything, so the menu felt repetitive. The drinks were fantastic- the lychee mint cocktail is highly recommend! Overall our bill was $100 for happy hour for 2 people, that included seaweed salad, a hungry roll, sashimi, crudo, 4 unagi nigiri and 2 drinks. It's good for happy hour if you like rolls, but I couldn't justify paying full price outside of happy hour.

Rozina K.

Yelp
The restaurant is large with lots of seating. Theres a large parking lot. Our waitress provided detailed recs and we had good service. The apps were a huge disappointment so I'd recommend skipping and going straight to the rolls. The calamari was not seasoned at all, and didn't seem properly cooked. The chicken gyoza were a bit oily. The fire cracker and sake crunch rolls were great.

Vy T.

Yelp
When I sushi, I sushi hard. So I got this $90* sushi boat combo. First impression, it looked nicely presented, but the box was made with cheap plastic and "secured" with two pieces of tape, wasn't packed in a bag or anything either. Included 2 specialty rolls and chef's choice nigiri and sashimi, along with wasabi, seaweed salad, pickled ginger, cucumber salad, and a little green light...? LOL. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, especially loved the nigiri they were so fatty and just melted right in your mouth. Reasonable amount of food for probably 2-3 people, or just 1 if you're like me :) Do I think this was worth $90*? Um, probably not. Was it still pretty good? Yah. Would I get it again? If my wallet allows, yeah. *Price according to delivery service Grubhub. Original menu price is $80.

Yelp
Disgusting, unsanitary, unacceptable. Crickets jumping in and out of the food is ridiculous, and the servers were not even remotely sympathetic to our concerns. Additionally, we did not recieve items we ordered, food was delivered that was not ordered, allergies were ignored among many other issues. I am disappointed and disgusted and will never in my life return to this restaurant. The manager was rude and only provided a slight discount following these extreme circumstances. I am severely concerned and do not recommend this to anyone.

Yelp
I love this place. The sushi is always so fresh and prepared to perfection. The location is nice off the freeway. The staff are friendly and service is perfect. We even had an office party in their conference room. I have found my new fav sushi place and I am a sushi snob.

Yelp
It was a solid 3 star experience for us. We chose Ebisu because we were in a different part of town and the Yelp reviews were so high. This is one of the very rare times I disagree with Yelp. Yelp said they offer curbside pickup and have a drive thru. Neither is the case. I went inside and got my order. We ordered: California Roll $7.00 - 6 year old ate it all up. Caterpillar roll $13.50 - very messy and clunky. Flavor was strong and fishy Cherry Blossom roll $15.95 Mango Tango $14.00 - enjoyed by my 9 year old. Perfection roll $13.95 Salmon roll $7.00 - 6 year old ate it up. Three Times A Lady roll $16.95 - meh...wouldn't order it again. Spicy Korean Fried Chicken $18.00 - this tasted like something from Panda Express. It was VERY expensive for what you got. No rice or anything served with it. We aren't unhappy with the food but this isn't somewhere I'd visit again. Please like my review and photos if they're helpful.

Yelp
This place is really good. I really enjoyed the coconut mojito lychee drink. They had a variety of interesting rolls. I did like the wasabi taste In the ikura (a little different than what I'm used to). I started to eat before I could get a nicer picture. I just don't know if I would consider this top-tier sushi, but all around nice. I plan to go back again so I rate this 4/5 stars for now.

Yelp
Ebisu is a great sushi restuarant that needs to find itself. The menu is over the top huge (which usually scares me)but the sushi/sashimi selection was excellent. The service was slow to start but once our waitress was engaged, she was right on. The atmosphere was quite and clean. We tried a variety of sashimi and nigiri, all of which was fresh and delicious. Our favorites were the o-toro, salmon belly, hamachi belly, and monk fish liver - a rare find!. If you're a sushi/sashimi purist, then you'll appreciate this place.

Yelp
I stumbled across this place, which was near where I was staying, and I am SO glad that I did! The sushi here was top notch-very fresh and full of flavor. The service was very good. The prices were reasonable. Like the Terminator, I'll be back.

Yelp
Was just reflecting on the Omakase experience we had at Ebisu with my husband a few months ago while we were visiting Austin for work. It was PHENOMENAL. (We also had Omakase at Sushi Junai while we were there for nearly double the price and midway through the meal we both said we would have preferred to go to Ebisu instead.) Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The sushi chef was awesome! We sat at the counter and got to talk to them while they prepared our meal. Very personable and even shared a little secret as to why their kimchi is the best I've had in my life. The restaurant was very clean, quiet and the lighting was comfortable. HUGE PARKING LOT. I don't often look forward to returning to town I go to on business but I absolutely look forward to coming back and eating here. I wish I had taken more pictures hopefully I'll remember last time.

Yelp
Got this California Roll to go! Service was fast, ambience was nice and the roll tasted fresh! I definitely want to venture into the sushi world, so I may just start here next time and try more options!

Yelp
When I was in Austin I was looking for a semi fancy place. So my friends and I decide to select sushi. I picked this place because it had a lot of reviews for the ones in areas. I made reservations for 8 people and they sat us into our own dining room which was super cool! Made us feel special. We order salmon belly nigiri, toro and uni. The rice portion on the nigiri is a lot if they did a little less it would make it just perfects The sushi roll that stood out were the lobster roll and dynamite roll The drinks that tasted delicious was the lychee martini and the ginger drink was best. The green tea comes in a teapot which is super fancy. I def would recommend cause it's one of those restaurant where you should try it at least just once. I wouldn't get the baked muscles though def not one of my favorite. It had too much cheese and the flavor wasn't all that great.

Yelp
Livid! I NEVER order anything with fake crab. I don't eat it. Some people are allergic. Ordered the Sexy Roll, $18 so one of their top rolls ($20 is max). And they fill it with fake crab filler, clearly to be cheap! Refunded, bye bye won't be back.
