The Best Fried Chicken In London

"Even if your go-to chicken shop order is a burger or strips, there’s no way you want to miss out on the hot wings at Eden’s Cottage. In fact, if you’re around Finsbury Park and getting your hot wings somewhere else, you’re missing out. They’re consistently excellent at this glowing chicken shop. The bread coating is never greasy, there’s always the perfect amount of crunch, and the chicken itself packs the kind of subtle heat you only get with an expert marinade." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

A (Brief) History Of London’s Best Snacks

"Hot wings - £3 In the pyramid of London’s best snacks - best being defined by availability, mass enjoyment, and regularity of craving - fried chicken is surely on top. It’s one of the city’s foundations and everyone has their favourite shop. Eden’s hot wings have always been a go-to. Crisp and peppery, yet eminently suckable, there aren’t many better ways to spend a few quid." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

Eden’s Cottage - Review - Finsbury Park - London - The Infatuation

"Even if your go-to chicken shop order is pieces, a burger, or strips, there’s no way you want to miss out on the hot wings at Eden’s Cottage. In fact, if you’re around Finsbury Park and getting your hot wings somewhere else, you’re missing out. They’re consistently excellent at this low-key takeaway - the bread coating is never greasy, there’s always the perfect amount of crunch, and the chicken itself packs the kind of subtle heat you only get with an expert marinade. That you can still get six for just £3 is an added extra, and if you do come here, you should probably know that their crunchy fries are some of the best chicken shop chips we’ve ever had." - Oliver Feldman

Where to Find the Best Fried Chicken in London - Eater London

"When Elijah Quashie’s YouTube series ‘The Pengest Munch’ went viral in 2016, Eden Cottage regulars were furious. Since the glowing review began to cause a stir, business has been booming at the Finsbury Park chicken shop, with prices having marginally increased. A ‘strip burger’, three spicy wings and regular fries now costs £2.49, rather than £1.99. Nonetheless, the strip burger remains a must try. Fries are disappointing but the chicken wings are succulent, crispy and aggressively seasoned: arguably some of London’s best." - Jonathan Hatchman

Based on the high road so it’s very easy to find and it is buggy accessible unlike the other stores in this road. Lots of affordable deals going on, brightly lit, spacious and plenty of seating, on top of that they have a self service machine which I’ve never seen in other chicken and chip shops which showed me how modern they are. The chicken burger felt like the bun got much smaller but the taste was ok, however the wings and chips were below average as the wings were big but felt oily and didn’t taste like chicken and the chips didn’t taste legit it tasted and felt cheap. Not to mention the Ketchup being incredibly sweet. However the service was quick and the person behind the till did take cash. The store was busy with Deliveroo drivers. You won’t find anything with his pricing in this day and age but the quality wasn’t the bus.

This is by far the worst experience i’ve ever had with ordering food, sent the wrong items and the sauce went all over the drink… on the receipt it CLEARLY says mirinda strawberry and burger sauce which you have to pay extra for but they sent me an off brand cola, ketchup and mayo?? can they not read english or are they just taking the absolute mick? also, look at how many fries they gave me! literally only 10 fries😂 how is this okay? fuming isn’t even the word, they have no respect for their customers and just send wrong items on purpose… never order from here if you know what’s good for you.

DISGUSTING place. Firstly they got my order wrong then I found a DEAD COOKED FLY in my food. I felt so sick after seeing it I couldn’t even finish the rest of my food. The food as a whole is extremely mediocre, it’s not worth the money, please do not come here. Clearly this shop is very UNSANITARY as they don’t take precautions to make sure this stuff doesn’t happen as Ive seen in the other reviews here have gone through similar situations. I’m absolutely repulsed and will NOT be stepping foot in a store like this again. Please spread awareness 🙏

Terrible. I asked for 12 wings the somalian guy charged me £6.67. Another customer came and asked for 10 wings, he was charged £2.99 When I asked for my money back he didn’t give it. Terrible customer service skills - he wasn’t even looking at me while speaking. Wings were dry and cold - I wouldn’t even give it 1 star but thats the only choice

When I used to come to Ends Chicken and the old staff were here, everything was great — fast, accurate, and professional. But now, with the new staff, it’s a complete mess. They keep making mistakes, and every time I ask how long it will take, they say “5 minutes.” I ended up waiting nearly an hour while they kept repeating “5 minutes.” This is completely unacceptable. In the end, I just took my money back and went home. Management seriously needs to consider bringing the old staff back — they were efficient and respectful. The current staff are not up to standard and clearly need to be replaced.

★☆☆☆☆ Truly Awful – Order Never Arrived I had a terrible experience with Eden Cottage and will never be ordering from them again. When I placed my order, I was told it would arrive in 20–25 minutes. Instead, I spent over two hours waiting while the ETA kept changing over and over again with no clear explanation. Even worse, I tried calling the restaurant multiple times to find out what was going on, and they never picked up the phone. No updates, no communication, nothing. In the end, the food never arrived at all, and I had to cancel the order through a customer support rep. This was a complete waste of time and incredibly frustrating. If you're thinking of ordering from Eden Cottage, don’t bother. Their service is unreliable, unprofessional, and completely indifferent to their customers.

A friend of mine suggested we try this PFC, so a few of us made the trip from East London to North London to check it out. We ordered a meal with two pieces of chicken wings, but unfortunately, they served us flat wings. The chips were decent, well-cooked and enjoyable. However, I always ensure that my hot wings are properly cleaned and free of any hairs. To my dismay, I noticed visible hairs on the chicken wings, forcing me to peel the skin off just to eat them. I was quite disappointed but felt unable to voice my concerns since the server was polite and welcoming. When I moved on to the chicken pieces, they appeared crispy, but once the flour coating came off, I was horrified to find numerous hairs stuck to the chicken. It was clear that the chicken had not been cleaned before marination, which I found utterly disgusting. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I certainly won't be returning to this PFC. It's unacceptable for chicken to be served in such a state, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
