Sowing The Seeds Of Change

"Serving as Edible Garden City's model urban farm, this site centers social impact—community engagement, hiring beneficiaries, and providing programming for the elderly and the children—so clearly that the government used its approach as criteria for a new urban farm tender in Henderson." - Rachel Tan

5 farms in Singapore to escape the urban jungle - SilverKris

"Started by building edible gardens for restaurants and homeowners, the group expanded to partner with schools, offices and malls before establishing its own farm in Queenstown (Citizen Farm, later renamed the Queenstown Farm). The site blends modern technology with traditional farming—composting agricultural byproducts for fertilizer and combining hydroponics, insect farming and natural soil-based agriculture—to promote sustainability. Although the farm is not continuously open to walk-in visitors, the public can sign up online for farm tours, workshops and both physical and virtual learning experiences that teach organic farming basics and microgreens cultivation while showcasing the farm’s unique features." - Loh Yun Jin

This is such a cool experience, to learn how to grow your own food and how to protect our planet as well as understanding organic that doesn't have chemicals in it. It is a fun day learning. There's a lot to do in the garden and a lot of take aways.

Fun and educational tour of the compound and a good introduction to the various urban farming methods. During the tour, got a chance to taste, touch and smell various edibles whilst the guide explained how to care for them as well.

It is a social enterprise that aims to promote growing our own food. I participated in “The Edible Garden City Tour: Queenstown Farm” and found it to be very informative and interactive. We got to try lots of edibles (eg. flowers, micro greens) and each of us was even given a large bag of kale, a bottle of honey and a box of microgreen.

A chance to walk away from the built up area and learn about plants that you can grow in your home. While concrete is still present, you get to do something that potentially will give you calm and peace. I've been here a couple of times and will be back again. Reacquainted wot the black faced general today.
