Edinbane Lodge

The service and decor is excellent. I appreciate the locally sourced food and the 3 course meal we ordered was delicious. However the portions (especially the mains) were incredibly small. For the price of over £100 each, it’s unacceptable to be leaving hungry.

I went for the tasting menu which costs £150, and as with anything the expectation is you get what you paid for. At this price I expect every dish to be fresh and great tasting. For the most part the dishes were. I particularly enjoyed the bread. Unfortunately where it felt short was in the highland/wagyu beef, 2 of our servings were chewy and one even had gristle. Should I expect the serving staff to ask if I enjoyed the signature dishes? I think so, but they didn't so I let them know as I was paying the bill. The response was quite average, which again may be acceptable and a lower price point but not this one.

Without doubt our best dining experience in Scotland. Superbly crafted dishes made with the freshest local ingredients. Delightful service, friendly but not in your face. Perfect timing for each each dish delivered. Well worthy of a Michelin Star. We loved our riverside room, which was a luxurious Superking with a lovely large patio. We can't wait to ge back.

One of the most amazing and beautifully executed tasting menus I’ve ever had. Staff was incredible kind and attentive. Each dish was crafted with great care and perfection. The flavours were surprising and delicious. We loved every minute of the experience. Thank you for providing and creating the most special evening for me and my family.

This was the best place we stayed on our visit to Scotland. It’s in a great location for getting out to explore Skye and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we didn’t get to have dinner there, but we did get breakfast both mornings and it was exceptional. Every member of staff was absolutely lovely. The gents that greeted us were warm, welcoming and fun. The women who helped us on our last morning there were equally pleasant, professional, and kind. We genuinely felt welcome there in a way that we simply haven’t in other places. I can’t recommend staying with these folks highly enough. An absolute highlight of our trip. Do yourself a favor and book a room!

What a special place. We stayed two nights and had dinner on the first evening. The meal was inventive at every step, highlighting unique elements of Scottish cuisine imaginatively crafted with ingredients of local provenance. I still think about the scallop. The Falasgair stands out, a smoky dessert inspired by the local practice of burning heather. Also, breakfast was lovely.

One of the best tasting menus I’ve ever experienced. I cried at the heather fire dessert. The story of each dish, their connection to place, and the sensory experience that follows is incredibly moving. Of the fine dining options on Skye, this was by far our favorite. I’m so glad we listened to a local and were able to snag a reservation while we were visiting. We can’t stop talking about it, and we can’t wait to come back. Also each and every staff member was so friendly and wonderful to chat with. Their love for Skye—the place, the culture, the emotions it evokes—is palpable and infuses the experience with a certain something you won’t find elsewhere. Make this your number one must eat while in town.

We were staying next to the Lodge, and this was a recommendation to come and eat by our hosts, Phil and Karen, and it did not disappoint. This is a high-end experience, and the service and the staff were superb. You get a full understanding of where the produce comes from, which is really great. The menu and the quality of the food were fantastic. This is a great experience from start to finish and would highly recommend it to anyone staying or passing through this area.

We made dinner reservations months in advance for a special meal. The service and food was superb. Would come back here again if we are ever in the area!

Simply put, this is a Michelin level restaurant for good reason. It doesn't get much better than this for an exquisite and first class event. Location is beautiful, service excellent and the food of the tasting menu, amazing! Make your reservations as early as possible, the place fills up very quickly.

It's taken a while for me to get around to writing this review but that is not a reflection of our experience. Perhaps the most memorable stay on our trip to Scotland, the Edinbane is superbly lovely. John and his staff were the most gracious and enjoyable hosts. Raul mixed up the most divine gin drinks and the food was hands above every other meal we had on the trip (and we did eat at other Michelin star restaurants). What made the stay memorable was that the atmosphere was sophisticated while the experience was unpretentious. Don't miss your opportunity to stay at this gem!

This award winning restaurant with rooms sits perfectly at the top of Skye's hospitality sector and has an intimate warm relaxed vibe (even with social distancing being at the forefront of service) Our tasting journey using the best produce of Skye & the highlands was exceptional from start to finish - the 8 courses offering incredible taste combinations and a true delight, the accompanying wine flight pairs perfectly with the dishes. Edinbane lodge is a treat, the entire team have gone above and beyond the current hospitality guidance to keep its patrons and our community safe, truly the pinnacle of highland hospitality.
