There are two restaurants in one. The brasserie and the Fine Dining. I chose the fine dining. We had lobster bisque soup and caviar for apps. The lobster bisque soup wasn't like most I've had before. There was fresh lobster added into a thick, brown creamy soup. This was delicious but different. The caviar came with egg yolks & whites, scallions, little bread pancakes, & a few other toppings. It was very tasty. We also got a bottle of Taittinger Champaign, which chef Brandon Edwin Chrostowski FOUNDER, PRESIDENT AND CEO FOUNDER, PRESIDENT AND CEO recommended. This was a 10/10 for taste. For the main course we did the ribeye steak and potatoes. We had fries and asparagus on the side. All the food was excellent, 10/10 for presentation and taste. The service was top notch. We had our waiter and other staff checking on us every few minutes. Staff were friendly, kind, and attentive. Brandon Edwin Chrostowski checked on us several times as well and asked about the food and our experience. This is a great restaurant for a romantic evening or important event. I highly recommend. As for cost, it was expensive, so check prices before you order.

I went for a birthday dinner. Seating was pretty tight. The waiter messed up my order. The wings were like any hot sauce-dipped wings. The atmosphere was unique and the heaters were a plus for covered deck seating. However, these flies and nets appeared out of nowhere that were irritating. My friend said the bathroom connected to the deck seating was filled with midgets and she didn't like it. Valet parking or self-parking at Chade Bank was available.

Edwin Cigar Lounge is definitely a place we’d go back to! The service was excellent — Mike did a wonderful job taking care of us and made us feel right at home. The burgers were tasty, and the prices were surprisingly affordable. Having a full menu for cigars, drinks, and food really sets this place apart. It’s the kind of thoughtful setup that makes the whole experience smoother and more enjoyable. Highly recommend! The owner stop by several times to check in on us.

We sat in the fine dining section. Menu was fine French foods in French. Honestly, nothing was bad, and at this price point it has to be. Get the goat cheese salad.

Google
We made reservations before an evening out for the “regular” menu. The service was extremely slow and the food was barely warm when it came out. We were definitely disappointed, but are hopeful once they are settled in to the new location things will improve and we will be back. The atmosphere is lovely even though it was very crowded. Prices were reasonable.

Great food and atmosphere, I also liked the comp valet service. The vibes were quaint, cozy, Parisian old style. The steak frites were amazing, the hot wings (on the house) were amazing. Service was a bit strange, bartender seemed new but very helpful and friendly, one of the other staff kept cussing which I found to be strange. Overall a great first visit, I’ll be back to try some more upscale dishes soon!

Not a single Cocktail was properly mixed or presented after a 15 Minute Wait. (My Seabreeze was served with a partially salted rim that migrated from a Margarita on Server's Tray, or from Sitting Next to a Margarita on Service Bar) Almost every food item was way Over Salted as Served from the Kitchen. My Guests Salad was wilted and stale from long hold time or from being held @ improper temperature. Heavily Salted French Onion Soup was almost all Sliced Fresh French Baguette, with very little broth left Unabsorbed by the Bread. Lobster Bisque, again over salted, was more of a Tomato Base, Rather than a Cream Base snd served with Crabmeat Garnish which didn't set well with my Guest as She's Allergic to Crab, but Not Lobster. At end of the meal, post a Wonderful Creme Burley, we Realized the Crab Cake Entre had Never Arrived, So it was presented Packed as a Take-Home. More than half the total bill was Complementary, due to Poorly Timed Service and Kitchen Presentation Failures. We arrived @ 9 PM and while "Busy", there were at least 20% empty tables upon our arrival,so they were in no way "Slammed" during our meal, and we even used an empty four-topper next to us to hold all the freshly delivered plates, and hold leftovers for take-home packing. We were also slightly disappointed that Jazz Combo couldn't be heard very well in the Bistro Section, near the kitchen passage. If you go for the music, sit in the upscale French Cuisine Section Dining Area and Upscale Bar on the right side of the venue. Covered Outdoor Patio Space and Outdoor Bar were Deserted @ 9:00 PM Friday, on a Fairly Mild Evening.

We came here for an anniversary dinner with very high hopes based on the many reviews. Our server was very friendly and nice, the cocktails were good. I had the frog legs, which were very salty. The lobster bisque was very watery, brown in color and with one piece of lobster ( you can see picture), it was so bad I could not eat it and unfortunately we both ordered one. For the entree, the lamb chops ... I wish they were grilled. I really hoped for a nice evening of delicious (and expensive) food, unfortunately I can't say I enjoyed any of it, other than the alcohol

Yelp
My boyfriend took me here to celebrate my birthday, and it was a lovely experience! Edwin's is a restaurant that hires formerly incarcerated men and women, and provides them with training and other resources they may need to succeed in their career and beyond. They serve French cuisine in an intimate and cozy atmosphere. The staff is very attentive and sincere. Our waitress, Bubbles, was happy to provide us with recommendations, and she always made sure we had everything we needed. We also got to meet the owner, Brandon, who came to our table to wish me a happy birthday! We each ordered salads with goat cheese and pear, and they were delicious. We also ordered drinks - an old fashioned and the Maple Sky, both of which were fantastic. For our mains, we ordered the spinach and mushroom raviolis, and the duck a l'orange. Great flavor and good presentation, too! Lastly, we split the creme brûlée for dessert. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
We came as a 14 person group at the end of a reunion weekend. We knew the story of the restaurant and wanted to experience the good food too. It is all that we heard and more. The Chef/owner suggested a fixed price selection which we agreed to many weeks ago. So all this was off menu. It was all 5*. Wine was blah but tasty, the cocktails were well made and interesting. Staff was learning their job and we were happy to help them learn. When you're in the Shaker Square come to Edwin's to fill your stomach and fill your soul. Valet parking onsite.

Amy G.

Yelp
We had a fabulous meal with dessert at Edwin's! I had heard wonderful things about the restaurant and its adjoining program for some time and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and attentive, The ambiance is quite cozy with a fireplace in the back. And lastly it was great meeting Edwin. He's a lovely man doing great things for our pallet and community.

Yelp
This guy wants to be a business mogul by exploiting the status of less fortunate. From the service I have received at his restaurants he has a long way to go to make some of them ready for people. I have been met with hostility by more than one of his servers. Maybe he should focus of their social emotional development.

Yelp
Second visit to EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute in 26 months. We scored street parking right on Shaker Square. Upon arrival we were promptly seated. Inside is tight seating but upscale, with dim accent ceiling lighting. The meal was delicious and I got to try something new (pheasant). I did send the Pheasant back as it looked undercooked and a little too pink for me. It came back out perfect and they handled the situation perfectly. They even brought a cup of soup while my dish was being flash cooked. Loved that detail of the experience. Service was wonderful. Rhonae S. was amazing, attentive, personable, and positively added to the occasion. The place is kind of pricy with a price point of 30+ per dinner entrees but we were celebrating our anniversary. We did 3 courses each and dropped about $150 for two, without drinks (pre tip) but we wanted to celebrate at a special location. Overall, It was a perfect evening and would definitely recommend. ____________ Here is what we had for dinner if interested. Since this is an updated, second review, with previous 10 pics showing, I'll upload pics directly to the page. ________ ~Here is more interesting info on what makes this place so special if you want to learn a bit more: *EDWINS 1s a 501(c)(3) and 100% of your contribution is eligible for federal tax deduction. *EDWINS offers formerly incarcerated people a foundation in the culinary & hospitality industries. Yelp
We are becoming regulars here, and we absolutely love it. Came here for the birthday, and our experience was outstanding, as usual. Anything we tried was 5 stars, from the cheese selection (6 cheeses), 2 salads, entree, 4 main courses, and 3 desserts. Everything was outstanding. Service is top-notch as usual. We sat outside, and they have a very nice patio. They even brought out the platter with 'happy birthday' on it for the birthday person. Loved it

Yelp
Just go here already!! If you like well done French cuisine, top-notch service and a great atmosphere, you will love this place! If you don't like those things...well I'm very sorry From the moment we walked in I was in love! The staff here was second to none - outstanding service all around, while retaining a personalized, down to earth feel. We had Brittney as our server and she was a DOLL. Best server I've had in ever. The food, the FOOOOD! Seafood sausage , best filet ever (plated very artistically), venison, table side bananas foster, champagne, great wine, a "happy Anniversary" plate in chocolate, amazing cocktails, are you convinced yet? We went here for our 17th anniversary and I can't wait for another excuse to go back again

Yelp
We came here on Valentine's Day and it's safe to say that we're absolutely in LOVE with Edwins! As most are aware, the story behind Edwins and what they stand for is beautiful. We chose the Valentine's Day menu which consisted of three courses with an optional wine pairing for each course. This may have been one of the best meals that we had in Cleveland. Each course was beautifully plated, and the flavors fit perfectly together. I was very impressed with the wine pairings as they complimented each course amazingly. Service was amazing and we felt completely supported the entire time. Our server was incredible and we could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and patient server. I highly HIGHLY recommend checking out Edwins if you have a chance. Between the amazing food and the values that they stand for, I could not have asked for a better experience.

Yelp
I would give this place a 4.5 stars. I haven't been back since I moved away in 2015 so I wanted to go back while I was in town. Online you cannot make a reservation for one so I did it for 2. I wasn't sure if there was a bar I could sit at but there was. It was a Tuesday night I went. The host and hostess were great. The waiter was professional but could use a little more training in connecting with the customers. The artichokes were great in flavor, not quite as soft as I like, but I cook the heck out of them when I cook them. The duck confit was amazing and the meat fell off the bone. The pictures only show the food because my cameras flash was on. The tables were very dark and it was hard to see the food clearly. I love the mission of Edwin's, what they have accomplished and their great French cuisine. Great to be back after 8 years away. Still a staple for high end dining in Cleveland.

Marina S.

Yelp
We came here for a date night and really enjoyed the experience. The staff was incredibly nice and efficient. Had a great meal and would definitely consider coming back for a date night. I love the concept behind the restaurant and it delivers on food and service. Give it a try!

Yelp
We have always gone to Edwin's 2, but made reservations for Edwin's and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and the people are absolutely amazing. We had Deonte as our waiter and I can't recommend him enough. He went above and beyond. We enjoyed our evening and will go back!!

Carri R.

Yelp
If you are looking for an amazing dinner. I highly recommend supporting this restaurant. The food was absolutely terrific. Inga our server was fantastic and so attentive. The chef/owner came around to greet each table. It was just a wonderful experience. I recommend the Foie Gras. It was silky and savory with a sweet gastrique The warm Beignets reminded me of New Orleans. Not only was the restaurant phenomenal, I really love what it has provided to the community.

Becky B.

Yelp
Edwin's was an absolutely amazing experience. Every thing we ordered from lobster bisque, escargot, goat cheese salad, duck leg, rabbit leg, and the filet mignon to the orange soufflé, bananas foster, crème brûlée was exquisite. It seriously ranks up there with Michelin Star restaurants. The service was incredible and like nothing we have experienced anywhere in Northeast Ohio. The waiter paid very close attention to all our needs.. water, more bread, replacing silverware continuously, clean plates...unreal! The Head Chef and owner of the restaurant, Brandon, visited our table frequently throughout the night! what a great man and restaurant concept!. We will definitely be back to support the efforts of Brandon and the Cleveland Browns. The Battista Family

Yelp
Brief update. Still fabulous!!!! They also have Edwin's too across the street. Mediterranean fairs. Will go there next time

Yelp
We hadn't been here for years, and we were excited to check it out again with some more food knowledge under our belts! It's a cozy bistro-esque interior, and the staff is so friendly here! We were initially seated at a table, but we took a lap around the restaurant and noticed nobody was sitting at the bar, so we asked if we could actually be moved to have our dinner at the bar, and the staff readily obliged! We also had several staff members stop by to chat with us and wish us a happy anniversary! The bar manager, Jamal, was awesome and took really good care of us. We started with a couple of drinks- my husband got a beer and Jamal made me a Botanique (his recommendation). I loved my cocktail, and my husband enjoyed his beer. We each ordered another drink during our meal. My husband got another beer, and Jamal made me a custom drink which was awesome- it was a strawberry drink with a little almond syrup. For food, we ordered the artichoke dish, the country pork terrine, the venison, the salt-cured duck confit with risotto, and the burger. Everything was so good!! The sauce on those artichokes is super addicting, i could drink a vat of that stuff. The venison was tender and not gamey, and the spaetzle that comes in that dish is crisped up nicely. I didn't try the burger- my husband didn't share since he said it was so good! I did try the demi-glace on it which was super savory and tasty. We were so blown away by the food that we ordered not 2, but 3 desserts! We had the souffle, the beignets, and the bananas foster. They were all good, but the souffle was definitely the star. Take note that it they do need a 25 min heads up if you're ordering the souffle, so put in that order early! It's so tasty, we just wished it was bigger! From the service to the food, our experience here was top notch. It's no wonder it gets so much good press! Don't sit on this one, definitely check it out!

Yelp
We went last night for a nice dinner with friends. The service was very good ( gracious, well timed and unobtrusive)and the food was well prepared. Especially loved the ramps in the gnocchi dish. My greatest disappointment was that there was horrible music at a very loud level. It would get turned down and then, as if someone loved the song, it would get cranked! Really "Red Corvette"? Then some banging rap....In a french restaurant.... I don't think so. Even if you choose poor music for the atmosphere, at least let us have conversations at the tables. It is why we are there. Oh and probably the guy singing to himself behind the bar really liked the music. I was exhausted from yelling to my friends by the time we left.

Alan Z.

Yelp
Went there last week for a special occasion. We were met at the door with a smile and were lead to out table immediately. Everyone was super friendly. Super helpful. We had cocktails which were superb. Then we were served bread. It was obviously not made in house. It was very ordinary. I'm guessing not made by pastry chef. Our waiter (I can't tell you his name because he never introduced himself) was very friendly and helpful. We ordered fromage as a starter. The fromager was very informative and obviously knew his cheese. Wonderful experience. Then the principal dish. My wife ordered scallops and I ordered duck al orange. The scallops...three scallops with Brussels sprouts plated in a very ordinary way. Super delicious except the scallops were super thin (like one diver scallop sliced into three). It looked more like an appetizer. The 1/2 duck al orange came as one piece and also plated in an ordinary way. Cutting the leg, thigh, and breast apart was left to me. There were so many tendons to cut through and finding where the joints were to cut through was to much so I just had it packed to go (when I got home I needed a cleaver to separate the parts). We did have cake and peach sorbet and an espresso martini for dessert which was awesome. I think service was very good, the ambiance was awesome, but in my opinion the food was over priced and the plating was not anything special. I didn't get the same food vibe as eating at L'Albatros. Maybe I just came at an off day and I would go there again.

Amy J.

Yelp
I've been to Edwin's several times for wine tasting and food. Every time I go, the ambiance is so classy and elegant and every single employee offers five star customer service. Our dinner server last night was Kevin, who was new but had a strong drive to learn all he could as evidenced by his returning to the table several times with answers to our questions e.g. what is Calvados? (A type of brandy in one of their cocktails). I really appreciated how much he cared about our experience. The cocktails are not necessarily creative but are delicious and well made. They also have dessert drinks and an extensive wine list. The menu ranges from affordable apps to really expensive $30+ burgers (although it was probably one of the best I've ever tasted in my life), seafood, frog legs, and escargot. All French inspired. The bartender made my mezcalrita like drink with Splenda instead of sugar which is also great! The salad nicoise was well appointed and very colorful. The individual parts were perfectly intermixed textured and flavors. Overall I highly recommend the fantastic food and service here.

Yelp
Whether it's Edwins restaurants or Edwin's Deli or Edwin's Pastries. ALL are EXTRAORDINARY Brandon Chrostowski should be Mayor of Cleveland Greatly appreciate BC and all those who he has assisted in learning laughing an loving

Rodger D.

Yelp
Edwin's caters the fish fry at our parish and it is amazing! First off, to pull off an event away from your home kitchen is hard enough, but to pull it off and excel at quality makes me crave to visit their restaurant. It is truly amazing to see how much they care about everything they do.

Amanda L.

Yelp
This is a great spot. Their wine selection is good and meals hot and tasty. They have good apps and a variety of desserts that are eye catching as well. They are doing a lot for the community which is also a great thing to be proud of. There is parking in the square which is fine or you can take the RTA if you live off the rapid. During the summer months they have an outdoor patio. They also have bar seating inside!

Heather O.

Yelp
A wonderful experience!! The food was top quality and the service was excellent. I felt like I was doing a good deed dining there. The servers tried VERY hard to make the dinner service perfect. The restaurant is beautiful too. I can't wait to go again!

Rachael R.

Yelp
An above and beyond 5 star experience from Edwins! You can tell there is care in every aspect of your visit. Loved having a valet, truly outstanding French cuisine, and kindness and attention from all staff. French cooking in and of itself is already special, but the Edwins team makes it that much better. I'm going to remember those delicious artichokes for a looong time and how could we say no to a chocolate pyramid with gold on top at the end? I wish we got our servers name but he was amazing with recommendations. Can't wait until next time, I'm eager to try the vegan mushroom entree! Thank you for having us.

Kenny R.

Yelp
What an outstanding looking menu! The food was decent, but not near what I had hoped for given the price. The sauces were good, but they just didn't knock it out of the park. To be fair, I did get my food to go. They seemed to take a lot longer than expected and that probably didn't help the texture of my potato wrapped grouper. Maybe they messed up my venison and had to recook it? It was a little past medium, tasty, but not amazing. The seafood sausage was good, good but not great. I did really enjoy the crab salad though. Very simple, just jumbo lump on a salad with champagne vinaigrette. The chocolate pyramid was cool and all, yet again good, just not great. If ever back in town, I'll try eating a meal there with higher hopes. I hate only giving 3 stars, but it is what it is.

Yelp
Ambiance: I came here for a birthday dinner for my wife. We knew and supported this place's mission to train formerly incarcerated people and teach them skills to succeed in a normal life. We expected to have snafu's and unfortunately there were plenty of them. We were given sparkling water despite asking for still water twice, we're asked for clarifications on our order and drinks 4 separate times, plates were set in front of the wrong person for every course, etc. the restaurant is well decorated and wasn't noisy despite being full however its layout is a little cramped with our little 2-top being crammed by the kitchen. This resulted in a little traffic jam happening by our table every few mins which ruins the atmosphere a little bit. Food: Portions here are a little small so expect to order a three course meal if you're hungry. The best course for me was actually the salads which were very fresh and balanced savory and acidic components well. We enjoyed the goat cheese blood orange salad the most although the crab and avocado salad was definitely heartier. We then had the braised artichoke, fois gras, and beef tartare. The braised artichoke was the winner of the second course with a buttery broth brightened with tomatoes. The fois gras was excellently seared and served on hearty toasted brioche with caramelized figs. It was very rich but balanced out if you got all three components in a single bite. The tartare was only OK. It was actually flavorful with herbs, capers, and Worcestershire mixed in but texturally it was chewy in bits and there wasn't enough toast so you're just eating spoonfuls of tartare to finish it. Finally, for our main course we got the filet mignon and braised rabbit leg. The filet is a solid option, it was cooked medium rare like we asked and the demi-glace not overpowering. It is served with fois gras and brioche like the appetizer and truffle shavings which are a little unnecessary considering all the other rich savory ingredients in the dish. The rabbit leg was actually closer to 2-3 legs so it was definitely a sufficient amount of protein, served with a couple roasted potato wedges and an amazing braised leek. The mustard sauce was very tasty and very mustardy but I probably only needed half the amount they put on. They do have a solid wine selection and my wife had a glass of Merlot that was very enjoyable. Overall, we had a somewhat frustrating experience but kind of came here expecting that. The food was admittedly flavorful but some of the ratios seemed off and the dishes just not quite balanced. The service workers were definitely still in training and required a lot of patience. The place is admittedly very cool and has an amazing mission to make the community a better place so we definitely recommend continuing to support them but do so with the right expectations. I think a lot of people have certain expectations of what a $100/person meal should be and may be disappointed if they don't know what they're signing up for.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, wine! There are very few restaurants that can hit the mark on all!! I can't say enough about the mission behind this restaurant!! Don't miss it if you are in Cleveland!

Jerry A.

Yelp
Celebrated a milestone birthday with a long-awaited trip to Edwin's and glad we did. Cozy with brick and high ceilings, a classic, comfortable room. Brandon the owner is a CLE treasure for what he's accomplished here, giving folks a second chance at an honest & better life, and training them expertly in the art of French dining service. Our food was delicious...a mixed field greens salad w/blackberries and fried goat cheese; perfectly seared scallops; a freshly ground burger that was mousse-like in texture; freshly-made beignets with homemade caramel sauce. Only slight misses were a lobster bisque that was underseasoned, and a complete "so what" attitude about the birthday. A perfunctory birthday greeting was given when we checked in for our reservation, but I suspect only because it accompanied the name in the book. Not one to expect big handouts, but after investing nearly $200, ANY small gratis item would go a long way. If you're not going to mark a special occasion in any way, then don't ask "What are we celebrating?" It was a bit of a letdown.

Rosie A.

Yelp
We had an excellent meal and superb cocktails. I would suggest that the food alone is worth the trip, and beyond that, the service is exquisite. We had the blue cheese bread pudding (so unique! It was rich and delicious); chestnut and fennel soup; salad nicoise; and portabello Napoleon. Regrets include the fact that we ordered too much and I was too full to get dessert. The cocktails were amazing, and if we lived closer, I'd consider coming in for just cocktails and one of their appetizers on a more regular basis. Thank you so much to all the staff at Edwin's for gifting us with a special evening out!

Sonia B.

Yelp
First time coming to this restaurant. Love the concept. Great concept and polite waitstaff. Lobster bisque was great. I had the salmon encroute (I forgot to take the photo) it was lovely not over cooked and the soufflé was a treat. Will def come back.

Linda S.

Yelp
We had a table of 5 and all of us had an incredible experience from the time we walked in, throughout our dinner and at the end. We decided to go there to go there to support their cause and to experience the excellence of their hard work and dedication to bettering themselves with the help and support of the management. The restaurant is classy in decor but also with the professional staff. Kudos to all. We had the experience of fine dining. As appetizers we had froglegs sautéed in butter and garlic. Tender and flavorful. We also shared escargot which were tender and enjoyable. The salad with warm goat cheese and poached pears was spot on Our dinners included scallops and roasted Brussel sprouts, duck with tasty risotto, salmon enrusted horseradish(not over powering) and venison. Desert was creme Brule perfectly done, and light and fluffy bigness. We regret not having the cheese table brought to our neighboring table. The variety was impressive. I hope for the continued success of this restaurant and for those being properly trained with valuable work skills.

SARAH B.

Yelp
I can't begin to rave enough about this place. I live in LA and grew up near NYC so I'm an admitted food snob. This place is a gem that can stand up next to nearly any other fine dining establishment I've been to. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable. The dining room was cozy and had great sound dampeners so it wasn't too noisy. My mom and I didn't want to leave! Next time I'm in Ohio, I'll be back!

Laura G.

Yelp
What we ate was so insanely good I teared up a little lol. Very nice decor but the entry way was a little cramped with people waiting for their reservations. Over all I will definitely be back

Greg C.

Yelp
Been here twice now. Love the mission, each time expect great things. I may just not be a fan of French food. The cheese cart is wonderful. Also got the burger after hearing great things. I think I must prefer a cheap bar burger with some fat mixed in vs this dry, grainy meat patty that they gave me here for $38. I am not going to blame the restaurant, but rather my tastes and expectations. Left disappointed with a much lighter wallet. Was nice that when we made reservation that it was a birthday, that they brought out a candle with happy birthday written in chocolate. No dessert, but a nice gesture.

Kathryn R.

Yelp
After seeing a news story about the mission of the restaurant, I was intrigued. Later I noticed an ad in the St. Stanislaus 150th jubilee program and decided to finally try it. We had a splendid birthday outing from drinks to appetizers to entrees. Favorites included the frog legs, horseradish crusted salmon and the beignets were a winning dessert not often on menus. The wine selection is vast and varied. My father took a pass on the cheese cart and is now regretting the decision. Service was on point and we will be back.

Yelp
We loved this place so much the last time we went, two weeks ago, that we decided to return for the Le Burger and the rabbit dishes, which came highly recommended in previous reviews I read. Both were great! My dining partner had the burger and he said it was very good, and that it seemed like a combination of a few different types of meats. I had the rabbit dish, which I have never had before anywhere. When the food runner dropped it off, she said, "The sauce on this dish is awesome!", and it was! As I mentioned in my previous review, I'm a sauce lover, and this sauce did not disappoint. It was a dijon gravy. This morning, my friend that I dined with said that this restaurant has recently been elected to the James Beard Award nominees, which is a challenge in a market as small as Cleveland but well-deserved. I left a four-star review this time because our table service was a bit off. We received our entrees before our drinks. We also had the bread pudding for dessert, which was nothing short of divine, but I forgot to take a photo.

Yelp
To what extent can a restaurant encapsulate quality, elegance, and ethical guidance without blurring the lines of service? Perhaps there is no better way to close out a year to forget with a meal to remember! Edwin's is not merely fine dining as much as it is a model of social change that affords second chances to those once thought to be lost to the hands of time. The restaurant is conveniently situated at the northwest corner of Shaker Square, right across from the Rapid station. When I walked in a brightly lit Christmas tree stood near the entrance, which set a warm, intimate tone that amplified the dimly lit ambiance. The seating area is moderate, with white cloth covered tables and a bar with an abundant drink selection. After I was seated at the bar my server, Diablo, greeted me with a smile and took my drink order. Complementary fresh bread was brought out with whipped butter! After looking over the menu, I decided on the Salade de Betteraves Roties and the Saumon en croute de raifort et concombres sauce a la creme. The salad was a flavorful blend of mixed greens, beets, red onion, orange, crumbled goat cheese, topped in a zesty orange vinaigrette! The salmon entree was artfully prepared - cooked medium - and topped with horseradish and a mild cucumber cream sauce. Each dish was a flavorful escape that captivated my senses - a delicious symphony of flavors! No meal is ever complete without dessert, right? Enter Bananas Foster, a sinful, decadent, masterfully prepared sensation that infuses fresh bananas with caramelized sugar, butter, licor, and house made vanilla ice cream! The best part is that it's made tableside and doubles as entertainment as you watch all the ingredients transform into one spectacular treat! Seeing is believing, but Edwin's is an experience that showcases the highest peak of gastronometric bliss!

Yelp
Branden's "Edwin's" goes head over heels now!!! The timely, prepaid, take out, curb-side pick yp, grilled to order and 4 for $40 deals are so spectacular, you will want dinner from here every day!!! No? Well, I ate every other day for 2 weeks then I realized my budget did not include such wonderfulness that often... It's OK, I still order twice a week! ...and the menu changes weekly with fun and surprising combinations! Mediterranean night, Mexican night, Take Me out to the Ballpark night! Bacon wrapped and stuffed Pork dinner, Braised Beef Dinner, Salmon stuffed with cheesy garlic Spinach in Off Pastry! The desserts, oh...the creative, decadent Desserts! Keep doing it Y'all!!!

Yelp
Edwin's is a bit fancy and not close to my homestead in Rocky River so I rarely make it over to them, but I've been eyeing their 4 for $4 meal deals during this hot mess pandemic and finally decided to give them a go. Totally worth it! First off their menu changes weekly and tends to sell out so you have to be ready. Thankfully the ordering process is simple, you can review a detailed menu on their website or Facebook page (usually posted on weds night) and either call in or place your order online where you select the day and time you want to pick up and then pay with the option to add a tip if you'd like. I chose their first slot of 5:15pm and made sure I left on time if not a little early as I heard lines can be long, but when I got there it was very fast! I pulled up and said my name, then drove around the corner where my order was ready to-go and handed through the window. No getting out of the car, no exchanging money. As for the food, each meal comes with fresh baked bread, a salad, the main dish, and dessert. Four servings for only $40! This is an excellent deal for families and even those riding solo! I picked a meal that was freezable and was able to portion it all out and freeze the extra servings (can't freeze salad of course, but the main dish and dessert froze!). I picked the Duck a l'Orange which came with roasted potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and blackberry clafouti. I don't eat duck often so this was a treat, and I'm glad I have more in my freezer. I love that Edwin's serves up good food, but they aren't pretentious, they stay down to earth. While other restaurants are asking $50 for a two serving dinner Edwin's is keeping prices affordable while still cooking up quality meals. They went outside of their normal operations to do what they could for the community with this 4 for $40 meal deal. They were able to stay open and keep some staff employed. And speaking of staff... I also love their mission: helping formerly incarcerated persons by giving them a chance at a successful transition back into society by teaching them a skilled trade, offering support and guidance, and empowering them through passion for the hospitality industry. Oh and it's nice to see the owner out there in the trenches with his team. 100% would recommend.

Yelp
Came here Valentine's Day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We got the duck and filet for the entrees and both were excellent. The service was also outstanding. Romantic evening and an overall wonderful restaurant!

Yelp
This was truly a Chef's Table like experience from the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant. The vibe, the atmosphere, the dress , the decoration, all fit the mood I wanted to be in. Really appreciated the French food theme with matching portions. Was immediately happy with the entire teams knowledge of their menu. their descriptions alone made everything sound so good. Loved my decorated table, it's presentation of the salt and pepper followed by their spot on bread and butter course. The bread had the right amount of chew and the butter was silky with the right amount of salt! My main course was a perfectly rendered and roasted duck with a stuffing like side with roasted vegetables, winner. Finished with a table side prepared 5 star bananas foster, a great end to the entire foodie experience.

Yelp
Top notch. Went last night for restaurant week. Servers were extremely attentive. Love that bubbly water is served without charge. The table had the butter up squash soup, salad and escargot as appetizers. The salmon and gnocchi as main meals. All incredibly delicious. For dessert the crème brûlée and the pumpkin bread pudding. The crème brûlée won the dessert contest here. We walked away totally impressed knowing we will return. On a side note- I totally loved that every server looked like they wanted to be there which is not always the case at restaurants. Good going Edwin's!

Yelp
Um, this is 1/8 of the food I just picked up from Edwin's 4 for $40 dinner. And...there is a whole cheesecake I haven't broken into yet. Holy Moly. I so admire the way this restaurant has shifted in the pandemic and one of the best ideas they do, besides walk up daily grilling, is this 4 meals for $40 menu each day of the week. The offerings are varied, the quality of food is outstanding, the quantity is more than sufficient, the reservation and pick up processes are so easy. I've never actually been inside the restaurant, though I've heard it is spectacular in every way. The butcher shop and bakery down the street also offer delicious options. But the real winner for me is this amazing 4 for $40 deal. I know many people who have read the menus but have not taken the step to click and reserve their first meal. Please do, and I guarantee you'll be coming back again and again and again. Just like me.

Yelp
Made reservations for our anniversary at this cute little restaurant. The food was awesome so beautiful plated, we ordered apps(salad and lobster bisque)and dessert. The bananas foster was phenomenal, they even cooked it in front of you! The service was great and attentive. The soup and salad were so delicious, we'll be back!

Yelp
In Cleveland for a wedding we were craving French food and found Edwins. At first we were enjoying our food when we asked the question of our server, how long have you worked here. We had no idea of the amazing story of this place. This place is a second chance training program for those recently coming out of incarceration. The food was excellent and the experience was 5-star. We had the pleasure of having Lamar for our server and he was a delightful part of our experience. He provided us a tour of the school and kitchen. We had the duck and the veal. Both were cooked perfectly and had great pairings and flavors. We also had the peach bread pudding. Yum! I'd come back again to try some of the table side demonstrations they have with cheeses, pressed duck or bananas foster. Anyone who enjoys French food and the amazing success story of second chances should put this on their list of places to go when in Cleveland. Great food and great service. Love this place.

Yelp
Food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Bartender can make a mean cocktail. Relaxed atmosphere and kind staff. Would return. Definitely worth a visit

Yelp
You must go here and tip well. The tip also goes to help the program. The French food here is as good as I've gotten any place else. The bananas foster was perfect. The rabbit was tender and delicious. The food is incredible and what they are doing to help people is even more amazing. The wait staff were great and very friendly. This is definitely a restaurant to go again.
