12 Seattle Restaurant Openings for April 2025 | Eater Seattle

"The original owner Hasan Ocak has reopened his West Seattle Turkish mainstay under a new name. The backstory, recounted by WSB, is that the initial restaurant had been bought by owners who changed the menu from Turkish to Greek, then closed the West Seattle restaurant, then opened a Pioneer Square restaurant; now the original restaurant is back under old management but a new name." - Harry Cheadle

Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings

"Ephesus had been a Turkish restaurant for years before new owners switched things up with a Greek menu in 2022. But the original owners have returned (stay with us), bringing back those Turkish dishes to West Seattle and renaming the place . Look for things like lamb chops and kebabs on the menu, and—just in time for some decent Seattle weather—the patio is reopening too." - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

This place is gorgeous! Staff is very very kind. They were helpful and patient when we were deciding between different delicious food options. The ambiance was so comfortable and cozy. The entrees were delicious- as were the main courses. Absolute wonderful place to be for a birthday dinner, or any other event. Amazing hospitality, we left with a smile and a full stomach. :)

I don't normally like baklava but this one was Moist and had lots of flavor. The eggplant was wow. That's a hard veggie to cook in my opinion. The mixed entree was very yummy. The lamb was super soft. I would go back when on town

Welcome back to the neighborhood Efesis! As a fellow Türk I can attest that this food is top tier delicious, authentic, and reminds me of my family dinners back in Izmir. The Adana Kebab was mouth watering, and leave room for dessert!

I hear the original owner is back. Food was Sooo good and fresh. I know it's really simple but there House salad is Great....that and an order of Hummus is a perfect meal I've been there twice in one week.

The food and service were outstanding! I had the day’s special, lamb stew, which was very flavorful and delicious. My girlfriend ordered the mixed meat kabobs that were tasty. The Caesar salad that came with the main was crisp and fresh. The focaccia bread and assorted hummus spreads were a great appetizer. A perfect finish to our meal was the homemade baklava—some of the best I’ve ever had!! I highly recommend Efesis and I definitely will be back for more.

I used to come to the earlier iteration of this place pretty frequently, I often craved the vegetarian moussaka like crazy. I assume this place is the same as the last time it was open here under the same name; I was excited to visit this location when they moved back in, but was also soon disappointed to find that neither the moussaka nor any type of meatless meal was on this current menu. My husband eats meat but he's not going to take me on a date to a place where the only thing I would eat is a plain side dish of pasta. Even having one token veggie main dish is a great way to bring in couples on dates or groups of friends when they're looking for a place that has something to include the person in the group who doen't do meat. I plan to delete this review after a few days since I i always liked this place before and not actually eating there the last time isn't a fair reason to leave this review up forever- I mostly wanted to use this review as a way to beg for the vegetarian moussaka to come back.

Generally the food is tasty and straightforward. Pita and hummus are both excellent. Service is ok and friendly. As some others have commented, dirty wine glasses, windows could do with a clean. The place has so much potential and the improvements dont need to be much to make it a stand out place. Currently it is good, but it could be great. 18% Service charge is automatically applied, which it says on small menu stands on the tables. For two people with hummus and pita, two kebab mains and two glasses of wine it comes to the $90 range.

Our favorite dessert in West Seattle! The hummus, house salad, and chicken kebabs we got were all great, but the dessert really stole the show. We splurged and ordered one each of the pistachio rolls, baklava, and chocolate cake (I forget the exact name) and they were all spectacular. Probably the best baklava we’ve had! The service was also wonderful and the atmosphere is really nice - the seating is comfortable and there’s a good amount of space between tables. It was raining hard tonight but we’d love to eat on the patio in the summer. We’ll definitely be back.
