Saw the write-up in Racket MN decided to make the trek to the North Loop to try their lauded sandwiches.
I usually avoid the North Loop, because I don’t like its pretentious vibes, but this spot is super down to earth and could easily exist in South Minneapolis. I’ve never seen a sandwich counter in a convenience store in Minnesota, and I love the East Coast energy it emulates.
I ordered the Breakfast in Bombay without chorizo. It was scrumptious. Loved the buttery bun, flavorful chili oil, and fresh sprouts. The scrambled egg was so fluffy and was the perfect preparation choice for this sandwich. It’s definitely messy, so make sure to grab some napkins. I didn’t grab any, and I quickly regretted it. It’s fun to lean into the experience though. Also, there isn’t any seating in the store, and there aren’t many benches around, so plan on leaving the North Loop to eat it, unless you don’t mind searching for a quiet corner. My fiancé and I ended up walking a number of blocks and sitting on a random ledge, which worked for us.
One suggestion I have is to add more default vegetarian options to the menu. The Breakfast in Bombay would benefit from some avocado or soy chorizo.
Overall, great experience and will definitely be back!
