"Founded as a food truck by Alvin Cailan in 2011, this breakfast-sandwich concept grew into a multi-city chain known for widely celebrated, highly Instagrammable breakfast sandwiches and locations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, London, and Tokyo. Its upcoming Melrose Market location has provoked neighbors not only over its provocative name but also because opaque window coverings, a large yellow facade and nighttime construction tied to the build-out have blocked natural light, made parts of the market look shuttered, and coincided with noticeable declines in nearby tenants’ sales.
