"Philly vegans love Ekta for the clearly labeled meat- and dairy-free dishes — like veggie samosas and lentil-based offerings — on its menu. The Fishtown location is a favorite for ordering delivery, and the West Philly location has an affordable buffet with plenty of vegetarian dishes." - Ernest Owens

"Due to a mix-up at the post office, you’ve suddenly received all twelve bottles from your “wine of the month club” at once. Bring the case and some friends to Ekta on Girard, where you can put a dent in your wine surplus (it’s BYOB here) and eat some good Indian food at the same time. Between the big portions and family-style option, this place works especially well for big groups. Go with the biryani and the spicy Goan shrimp curry, along with some extra naan to mop up the sauce." - Jordan Price

Great variety of vegetarian options for a good price if you know what to order! We've ordered delivery and also dined in. The restaurant is comfortable, and the owner is very kind and attentive. This is another one of our favorite Indian restaurants! If you're vegetarian, you might want to consider ordering their dal makhani, malai kofta, and/or mango lassi.

If I had the ability to give a Michelin star, I would. This is the best Indian food I have ever had and I eat Indian food very often. The people who give less than 5 stars are absolutely crazy. Highly recommended.

Food and service were great. Quite the variety of choices on their menu. Hard to choose one app or bread, so we ordered 2 of each. I had chicken curry which was delicious. Plenty of chicken, cooked perfectly. Cute restaurant seating area. Appears to be BYOB. I hadn't looked into that before arriving. Dinner for 2 w/2 apps, 2 breads, 2 entrees and shared dessert under $60. Loved it!

Decent Indian food not going to lie but the prices are crazyyyy. I spent $30 for one small order of malai kofta and three tandoori rotis. I can buy all that for $20 max any Indian place and with good quantity. I understand the quality is good and place is clean but mannnn $30 was steep.

After a graduation, our family had lunch at Ekta. It was at mid-afternoon time, so no one was in the dining room besides us. The food was very good. We had some Chicken Tikka Masala, lamb, samosa, naan and more. Service was fine, although perhaps a bit more attention to water refills would have been nice. The atmosphere was nice and clean. Nothing amazing, but pleasant nonetheless. The price was what I expected - a little high for me, but I do feel I got my money's worth. I'd go back again if I'm in the neighborhood.

Best Indian food I have had, probably ever. I went with my staples and was not disappointed.....Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer and Malai Kofta. Naan, Veggie Samosas and Mango Lassis were great too. Ordering to delivery was less than 30 minutes! Thank you so much! Will definitely return!!

The good: The Chicken Korma, Chicken Saag and Baingan Bharta we're delicious and appropriately spiced (both flavor and spicy) The bad: Samosas were the worst part of the meal, would not order those again. They have easy online ordering for both pick up and delivery, great for a take out night!

I ordered a samosa chaat for takeout from here. To my disappointment, it didn't have any samosa in it, just chickpeas. I requested it to be made spicy, but they added uncooked green chilies. The quality was not great, and it seemed like stale food. I wish I could give them less than 1-star rating.
