El Asadero Tacos Al Carbon

5-18-2025 The atmosphere has that authentic Mexican vibe. Had the hibiscus drink (the red one), and also the bottled Coca-Cola. Very good. The cabeza taco (i split into 2) was delicious but also very oily. The carne asada plate was ok. The meat was the last of pan , crispy well done, but the decent pieces were very tasty. Rice was bland, the refried beans were good. The red salsa was not spicy. The jalapeños tornadoes (grilled ) were not spicy either. Gonna try again but earlier, I did go around 8:30 pm

Late night drive thru, was super hungry. Ordered the 3 taco plate with rice and beans and the carne asada fries. The FRIES were amazing, the tacos were good, a little small but you have rice and beans and salad on the side. The service was quick and the guys were so nice. I would come here again and try the carne asada burrito.

I checked this place out on a whim, and I'm glad that I did. The Pastor and Carne Asada tacos are well seasoned, and the diced cilantro/onion topping really balanced the flavors of the taco. The red and green salsas provide that extra acidity if you're feeling spicy. Although the size is small, the flavor more than makes up for it. Definitely worth checking out if you're near Downtown Mesa.

I’m so glad I tried El Asadero. This is a small place that is doing Mexican food right. They offer combos with rice and beans which are both great. Burritos, tacos, chimichangas, tortas are some of the choices and everything is top notch Mexican cuisine. The salsa verde and roja are excellent. They offer breakfast burritos which I plan on trying in the morning, and even horchata.

They are consistent and can always count on them for a quick delicious meal. My personal favorites are the carne asada taco and the carne asada fries. I’ve tried so many places over the years and always find myself always coming back here. Be sure to grab some of their green sauce!

I really wanted to like this place. It reminded me of many of the traditional Mexican places I went. I grew up going to his kid sadly though the food wasn’t up to the standard and neither was the service. The building itself was pretty standard for being a small Mexican place With the Service $3.60 per taco isn’t worth the price for a small street taco, I would pass on this place, try Alfonso’s off brown. Looking for great street tacos then come here! Cooked to order and so yummy. Definitely will be coming back. I loved the Al pastor and chicken tacos. The horchata was fantastic too, tasted like it had a slight vanilla flavor or something.

FOOD POISONING!!!! 3 different types of burrito, but we all got the same chills and diarrhea, so someone wasn't washing their hands and cross contamination occurred!!!! You don't want to see the photos!!

One of, if not THE very BEST Carne Asada burritos. It's nearly 20 bucks for this burrito and a Diet Coke. I don't care.

I'm in Mesa AZ , cruising around downtown This place looks like a good taco place so I stoped , because it said el ASADERO and there is a big Grill outside I order 2 tacos of tripe 2 of chicken 2 asada One small glass Mexican coke The tortillas are the smallest tortillas you can get The tripe taste like it's been in the fridge for weeks The asada has the same taste of old as the tripe Chicken it's ok , not good just ok Price per taco is outrageous, I'm from NorCal and NorCal is expensive But never have paid this much for a taco Service ok since you order they charge you and that's it , you pick your tacos from the counter when they call you Salsa bar is dirty , floor and baseboard dirty and greasy , ceiling has salsa splatter All over Please do not waste your money here

Not worth the expensive $12 burrito or $4 large drink. If you don't speak the language don't expect good service. I asked for some lime and it was like asking for a kidney

This place is great. The staff are super friendly and the tacos leave you wanting more. I get the al pastor and barbacoa. Super yummy!

I came in here specifically because a reviewer stated it was the best green chili he'd ever had. The green chili was good except that my $12 burrito (which was big) was 1/2 rice. If there was maybe 1/4-1/3 rice I'd give it 4 stars. If u come in for this burrito (or any other) I'd suggest asking them to go easy on the rice... unless you like rice burritos.

This place has really good food but they charge you different every time you order the same thing. The last time I ordered I paid 15 dollars for a burrito. A BURRITO. I don't know if the girls working here just pocket the money or they are dishonest, but this isn't cool. Keep your prices consistent. You're a taco shop not a full service restaurant.

28$ for a torta and a been and cheese burrito? Almost 4$ for a taco. So many other places on main with better food and better prices.

Just a heads up to anyone ordering food dishonest and inconsistent to menu prices. If you call in you will be OVERCHARGED--to whatever they want to charge you at that given time. I order the same thing every time. Order over the phone $15.50 dollars for a burrito plate?!...Order via Yelp $12.99. I'll take my business elsewhere, thanks.

I was in the area and was looking for a good taco spot. I came across El Asadero which is a fairly simple mexican restaurant with a decent menu. Inside the place is very clean but also pretty limited seating. I ordered the pastor tacos as well as the cabeza and was surprised on how good they came out. The tortillas tasted like if they were homemade, the meats were cooked good and contained a lot of flavor. The salsa bar was also a plus with the red being the hottest flavor. I also appreciate the fact that they sold glass bottles of Coke which is the perfect pairing with street tacos.

Me and a friend went there recently for Taco Tuesday. They had a limited selection, and when I wanted chicken, that cost extra. I decided to go ahead and pay it & try it out. The tacos were just OK. Also ordered chips and salsa, that was only OK too. What wasn't OK, was when I asked to use the restroom that they used the pandemic as an excuse for not opening them to customers. I also didn't realize that allowing panhandlers to approach you while you were eating on the patio was another part of the experience.

I walked in, the lady/cashier was very rude. Asked if we were ordering or not. On 06/24 at about 1:30pm. Ordered about 6 tacos & burrito and the meat was VERY hard. Look like they gave us old meat. When my mom told her the meat was very hard and if we can get new ones instead of apologizing and just getting us fresh meat. she started giving us attitude & making faces like if it was our fault. She was very unprofessional wouldn't recommend. The lady had a bunch of piercings on ear and dark hair. Worst customer service I've had in my life and coming from working in the same work industry. First time I ever pay 15$ for a burrito as well. Now I'm reading other reviews they change prices apparently. Will definitely not come here again.

This spot has a simple menu and the food is delicious! The fact that there is a drive thru just makes it better.

The best mexican food ive had in a very long time, Its worth the wait, meat was perfect 10/10 in the chimi, tacos were excellent as well as the sides 10/10, I dont give reviews often but felt it was greatly deserved. Def be back soon! Thanks for the great lunch today!

This is the only place I come to for my burrito de lengua and horchara. This place looks like a small run-down, hole in the wall but it is worth it! I have never waited in their drive thru and am always promptly greeted. Staff is nice and pleasant. Their lengua burro is very filling and they do not skimp you out on lengua. I live in East Mesa and this is about a 20 minute drive from me, but I do go out of my way to go here and don't mind doing so.

I'm glad people like my honest review, we have not been back since! A place we once loved, destroyed by one person for us. The sad part is no one from management has reached out to talk about the situation. I guess they could care less if a few gringo's don't like how they speak and treat other customers.

15 mins to make a burrito??!? When we're the only ones at the restaurant ?? Wow incredible! Camilla knew we were there because she took our order. She was laughing, talking and on her cellphone while my boyfriend and I are waiting for our food!! 15 mins later we decide to honk because she didn't acknowledge us being there because she was too busy on her phone. Seriously need better workers!!

Food was delicious, absolute no complaints there. Don't have a picture since we devoured them lol. But we got two #2 (that's a burrito with rice and beans on the side) we got Carne Asada it comes with beans and cilantro I believe, but I asked for them with cheese, sour cream, and guac added as well. I also decided to get a bean & cheese burrito, super basic but super yummy and an horchata. This would be 5 star the only thing was the wait, I usually don't mind the wait time but I know some people do. Getting off would probably be faster. TLDR: Point is good food, long wait

We were excited to try this spot because it seemed to have good reviews, but the food seems very cheaply made. We ordered veggie enchiladas, a chicken burrito and chips & salsa, but it all lacked flavor and is made with cheap ingredients. Unfortunate, but probably won't be back.

I have only been here one time . I ordered the Machaca need breakfast Burrito and it was amazing . It's not fast food so it took a minute but was definitely worth the wait. I would love to make it back there for Taco Tuesday.

I passed by and it was only 10:30 and KAREN had already closed the lobby at only 10:30 !!! And when I tried to order through drive thru she said I couldn't get anything that was on the grill because it was already cleaned that's some bs!!! I've been coming here for years. The 2 bean and cheese burritos I ordered had next to no beans in them. Also, they took more out of my account then what the receipt said. Crooks. $17 for 2 tortillas. I will not be coming back.

I moved to San Diego and miss my Bean Burrito with white cheese sooo much! Best anywhere!!! Each time I visit Mesa I go by and pick one up before I get to my location! No Burrito compares! I wish they were in San Diego they just don't know how to make them here!

first they keep rushung you to order like they are in a rush when there is no one in line it's an empty place and I asked if the carne asada fries come wits onions they said no , and what was my surprise when I got home nothing but onions on top second time we been there but not anymore, will never return again.

Love the chicken tacos and carne asade burritos. They went the EXTRA mile and really hooked it up. The flavor, quality of the food is a definite winner. This is the new spot for me.

The food was not it for 21.00 it was cold and hard they left are food out and gave it to us an hour after we order and the sauce was filled not even half way. The lady at the front was rude and only cared for the cars.then she started yell at her coworker about taking forever to make the food then she throw a meat at him. After that a lady called the cop and after 3 hour we got our food never eat here unless you want to get sick and go to the Hospital and have your sister almost die on you. We are Suing and my mom is karen so watch out. For anyone saying this it fake it is not never go here. Your welcome

So so good. We were kinda iffy because it came out more expensive than were used to for Mexican food but it was bomb. All their meats are seasoned so good and the salsa also!

We go all the time and get the family 1 lb meal of carne asada and it is bomb. Our kids - toddler age up to 10 years old - all inhale the little tacos (they just skip the spicy stuff. It comes with salsa, grilled jalapeños, tortillas, chopped cabbage, and chopped onion/cilantro. The whole family loves it. My husband and I sometimes get it and hide it from the kids. I've also had their fish tacos, bean/cheese burritos, and some amazing asada quesadillas. I've only had positive experiences. People there are friendly, and the line is usually fast.

I decided to try this place out bc my usual Mexican spot was closed... ordering I quickly found out that it was very expensive didn't mind to much bc I was thinking it looked authentic an good.. got my food it was about 29$ for two combos... I had ordered the three taco combo I was thinking bc it came out to a little over 14$ for this one it would have a good amount of food. I I opened the container it came in an three TINY tacos sat there on a BED of rice with little to no beans I was very sad bc when eating at Mexican spots I loooveee bean (reasons I'm giving it a two star is because the only thing good about it was the 4 small spoon full amount of beans were DECENT) the red sauce was good an spicy I asked for limes squeezed them on the taco and.... these limes must have been cut an bagged up about a month ago bc the taste that it had literally was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted definitely ruined the small amount of tacos that I got... Now on to the second combo the burrito my boyfriend ate his an said it was below average.. I'm very disappointed in the amount of money that was spent on this below average spot.... definitely will not be goin to this place again. Unless u like below average Mexican food this place is a no go..

Place doesn't look like much when you see it. It's pretty clean, has 4 booths that seat 4 each and 3 small 2 seat tables on the inside. Ordered the asada plate, beans and rice were good. The meat was flavorful not like the cheap meat they use at filibertos. Also tried the Al Pastor taco and the meat was super flavorful and very good, they cook the tortillas and make them a bit crispy with a tiny bit of oil. Good salsas only red or green. Horchata was good, could taste the cinnamon but not too much or too sweet. The strawberry churro was really good! Overall this is a good spot for authentic Mexican food. I would of gave it 5 stars if the side of guacamole was fresher and overall appearance were to be cleaner.

Haven't been here for a while and decided to come back and get same a usual. $14 for Carne asada fries WOWWWW!! I remember there were $8-9 several months ago... won't be coming back

absolutely delicious tacos!! 10/10 recommend. they have great prices and the food is super fresh. the horchata is equally as good too! they also have a drive thru for those who wish to stay in their car. i will definitely be returning.

Keep getting charged different prices for the same item I buy at least once a week. Prices go up depending on who is working. Been going here for three years and order the same thing so i know what it costs. Food is good, but I'm done paying $8 for a bean a cheese burrito.

I tried this place after a recommendation from a food blogger I follow. They recommended the toasted bean and cheese burrito with sour cream. I got that and it was hands down the best bean and cheese burrito I have ever had! It's too bad this place is 20 miles from my house. It is a very casual, run down, hole in the wall type place. But it seems to be clean and that burrito makes the trip worth it!

Decided to give this place a try. I purchased 6 tacos including carne Assad's, carnitas and al pastor. Both my girlfriend and I were satisfied. Will definitely come back to continue exploring the menu.

If you want bomb Mexican food come here! I usually get a carne asada torta, bean burrito or carne asada fries while the husband likes to order their carne asada burrito. We've also ordered carne asada, rice and beans for a birthday party. It worked out well and the food was a hit. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

I am unsure of some of the reviews on here. I mean, the place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is good. Ordered 4 tacos for my love and I. Al Pastor, Carne Asada and 2 Pollo Asado. All were really good. The asada was slightly dry and the salsas were super hot but the food was ...quality and really, really good. Quality and goodness that I would return for. The chips that I ordered alongside the tacos were made to order and absolutely excellent. The flavor from the mesquite grilled meats was great. Chicken was my favorite. The staff was seriously so nice and explained everything to me and my bill for chips, salsa and four tacos was only ten bucks...great deal and food, thanks :)

I'm a regular on weekends for they're Menudo. Its the Bomb. And if you like tripas. man the burritos of tripas are just as good. Actually the Asada is also good. Ha... I guess you can say all they're food is really Good!!!! Y tambien los frijoles...

This place is 2 legit! El Asadero hit the spot! We got a bunch of different types of meat for street tacos and guess what?!? I tried Lengua (tongue) for the first time and dayum it was amazing, trust me on this one, try it! Oh yeah, don't forget the litre of Mexican Coke to wash down all that delicious food!

The best carne Asada burritos fast food style. Never had better Carne Asada Fresh grilled over charcoal. Beans are also very bomb diggity. Way better than filibertos/los favoritos etc.

This place is a staple in our home they have the freshest cooked meats, best beans, and all their chili sauces - hot sauce, etc.... is fresh and unique. They service is pleasant and the atmosphere is that of a cares for mom and pop restaurant.

Lengua Tacos are excellent! The beans, rice and beef enchiladas were delicious. Friendly service, Oh!! Please try the Flan, you won't regret it. I just found my new favorite Mexican restaurant.
