El Bandido Mex Mex Grill - Review - Little Five Points - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"There’s no valid reason to ever come here unless you’re on a date with someone you secretly hate. If you bring them to El Bandido, there’s a chance they’ll never talk to you again if they chip their teeth on the too-hard rice. The dining area looks like someone threw a rager and forgot to clean up (there is occasionally broken glass on the floor). Tables hold only a few stragglers—those who either stumbled in by accident or former merfolk who sold their taste buds to a sea witch. If you're in Little Five Points and craving Tex-Mex, just head next door to Elmyr for food that doesn’t taste like it was cooked three days ago." - Juli Horsford

The food was alright. Service was okay. Drink order was never taken. Had to flag down server after about 10 min. The restaurant was empty when we dined in. I thought they were closed at first. They were short staffed. Only two workers. The food seemed microwaved. It did not stay warm for long. The Shrimp ala diabla sauce was good and spicy. 🔥 🥵 The server was sweet. He was trying to stay on top of Togo orders!

Place smells weird. Cups were dirty... first a hair then a object floating had to change 2 times. I got the Carne Asada was over cooked and the rice was cold. It tasted goodish though. I feel so bad for being so honest but hopefully it gets better. JOSE tried his best to help and he looks like he is a very hard worker. Sorry guys... I mean it's my first time to Georgia.

Food is good and fresh. The server was very nice and pleasant. I wish i would have gotten his name. The dinner experience was nice. The time of day we dined was not too busy so we were able to get a lot of attention from the server. However, it was raining and they had a roof leak. So buckets all around and the floor was wet and had puddles of water on it. The floor also had an unusual slippery feel to it. You had to be very extra careful not to fall. We watch a toddler slip and fall on his back. Very unpleasant to watch. Food was good! Service was great! But didn’t feel very safe while there.

Do NOT come here !! I ordered tacos and these were what i received. I was in shock! it looked like I couldve done a better job at it myself. This place is definitely going down in my books as one of the worst restaurants i have ever been to. Just truly so disgusting and inedible…please save your money! I also have to mention that I ordered to-go and while i was waiting for my order an insect (looked like a flying cockroach) was crawling on my pants.

Chill Saturday. I think the bartender was new. But he was super sweet. I tried the kiwi margarita and it was very refreshing. I had a shrimp and chicken taco with corn tortillas. Very yummy. But the chicken tortilla soup took the cake. The chicken was so tender and dish altogether, was very flavorful. Nice restaurant overall.

Google
It is by far the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Didn’t even give us what we even ordered. Ordered shredded chicken enchiladas but gave us beef. Everything had no flavor what so ever. We ended up paying and leaving without eating it. It was that bad. Definitely wasn’t worth the prices they charge. Don’t waste your money here the food is horrible.

Google
The food was soooooo good! We came pretty late so it wasn't super crowded. I ordered a steak chimichanga and my friend ordered the fajitas with shrimp, chicken and steak. My chimi was fried to perfection and covered with cheese sauce. The rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked. A lot of Mexican restaurants don't have good rice, but this rice was delicious. My friend's fajitas came out sizzling and she was thoroughly happy! The food was all very hot when it arrived to the table and it came out quick. Our only complaint was that the steak was really really chewy and kinda fatty. I'd definitely recommend the chicken instead of the steak. No doubt here. I also ordered the peach margarita on the rocks and it was DELICIOUS! I am completely satisfied and will definitely be back again.

Google
Ok so hear me out. Nachos grande 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Chicken taco was on the dry side (add hot sauce and it’s good) but the tortillas chips are good and the nachos are freaking amazing. Also there is cheese although it didn’t say it. Also it can literally feed 2 people and have you will still have leftovers.I’ll come back for nachos hands down.

Yelp
El Bandido is a classic Mexican restaurant with a dive twist and I love it. At least once a month, we sit at the bar with the awesome bartender, John, who can keep you up to date on everything going on in L5P. We have his fabulous (and spicy) jalapeño margarita, for which he dices up the fresh jalapeño on site. The molcajete is my favorite. Tons of delicious proteins and great flavor, but my husband gets something different every time and hasn't missed yet. Our son goes with the carnitas tacos.

Yelp
This place used to be pretty decent but had a drastic decline the past year or so. Now the food is awful, the orders always come out wrong and I've had multiple times where things were added to my check that I didn't order. Won't be coming back.

Yelp
I came here on a Tuesday night to satisfy my nacho craving. I was surprised with how empty this place was during dinner time. Only 2 tables were occupied at 6:00PM. I did a B-line to the bar where I was immediately greeted by a handsome and friendly bartender. He swiftly brought me salsa and chips and took my drink order. The chips were definitely fried in old grease. To play it safe, I ordered the cheese nachos with beef. Not too bad. Pretty solid actually. I had a few bites and was interrupted by a lady next to me yelling, "those nachos look amazing!"while staring at me while I took another bite. Strange. I asked for a box, finished my beer, and left. Would I return? Only to see the cute bartender, but for the food? No. There's plenty of better places around I'll stick with.

Yelp
NASTY! I barely made it through the taco supreme which was chicken with sautéed onions drenched in queso. I spit out the beans they were so bland. THE GNATS! OMGAWD! To be honest I don't even know why I ate here.

Edward M.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood. There is no way this dump is a 3.6. For the past five years I will enter once a year - new owner almost every time. Sticky menus, floors, food is vulgar. yuck never again. It is a shame.

Yelp
The restaurant has completely went downhill since ownership changed right around Covid.... their prices are too high... Including them charging you to use your credit card... The service is subpar... And the food has completely gone downhill. I've been trying to give them a chance, but I'm completely done after today.

Yelp
This place got a 19 health score!!!!!!! This place once used to be great but they changed owners and the quality of everything severely went down. Bugs everywhere in the restaurant. Super gross. Don't go here!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
It was extremely empty here and they seemed to be short staffed. We were sat in a horrible spot when there were so many open tables. From one sight, was a dirty table not cleaned for the entire time and the other view was of the kitchen showing two large trash cans stacked to catch dripping water. The host was, the server, and expediter and bartender. I quickly lowered my expectations. To my surprise the pork tacos were pretty good and the taste of refried beans were decent. Seems like a nice place later at night with some music but the day visit was lacking.

Yelp
Probably a good place to grab drinks at, not the greatest place for a real meal. The pictures I saw made it look real cute, but I was not impressed. Staff was unmasked which made me uncomfortable. At first I wanted to sit outside, but seeing how crowded the patio was, I opted for indoors. Indoors was fine at first, until more customers came in and they didn't seat them away from us. They sat them at the adjacent tables, and not 6 feet apart either. We could hear their entire conversations. Additionally, some of the tables near us had water leaks from pipes above. Overall just had a grimy experience. Food was alright. There are free chips/salsa. Met my typical cantina standards, and I left full, but the atmosphere and the rampant flies circling my food made eating uncomfortable. Probably won't go again for lunch, but I might stop by for drinks and give it another shot.

Yelp
I don't understand why this business has 4 stars. Our waiter John was the worst ever! I don't think John wanted to be at work. When we got seated I noticed multiple tables had used plates with food but figured they would be cleared at some point. Went to the restroom to wash my hands and was instantly grossed out. The salsa that accompanied the chips had little flavor and was cold. My margarita tasted like straight margarita mix with no alcohol whatsoever. The tequila and tonic had a nasty after-taste. Steak fajitas were bland and John didn't bring any tortillas or plate. I asked for tortillas and assumed he would bring a plate too. I guess I was supposed to roll them on the table, so I had to ask for a plate. Side of jalapeños (one sliced jalapeño) was $2.49 and a small side of cilantro, another $2.49. John came to clear our plates and brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. We had planned on getting tequila shots because their drinks were not good. At that point, I just wanted to leave and go to elsewhere for drinks so we paid and left. Never going back and you shouldn't either. And why was the main tv showing QVC while the others showed college football?LOL

Yelp
Food It was under seasoned and the taco meat was too salty and tortillas were not properly cooked and horchata drink was watered down and not rich or flavorful, customer service was good we were attended with good time but the food overall I would not recommend it was not good I recommend somewhere else it's not worth! Enchiladas were decent but not good!
google avatar

Yelp
I ate lunch here today. The food is terrible! Soggy tasteless rice, soupy-watery tasteless refried beans. The salsa had a bad taste. They brought me the wrong order, but I just traded items with my daughter. We only ate part of our food. The enchiladas were not warm. The enchilada sauce tasted like it came straight out of a can. This is probably the worst Mexican meal I have ever been served. When walking in, there was a strong odor of disinfectant. A really sad way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

Yelp
This place is in rough shape and terribly managed. We went last night in a group of 10 for dinner. I called a week in advance to let them know and they took a reservation along with my name and number. When we arrived they literally were clueless about the reservation and proceeded to take 10 minutes to push tables together, then sat us, and then cleaned the table after they sat us. The chips were stale and we needed to ask several times for water. The waiter who doubled as a bartender had no idea how to make the most basic of drinks. Our food took 45 minutes to come out and arrived so intermittently that several people finished before others even had their meal. In addition to our server/bartender there were 3 other young ladies working, but spent most of their time just sitting at other tables staring at their phones, one while snacking on Doritos. Used to like this place but it was awful and the people working there couldn't care less about your experience. It was not crowded as there was a maximum of 2 other tables of diners the entire time we were there

Yelp
Giving this place a 1 star is above what I would even recommend. For starters, we arrived at 1 pm today on mothers day, the restaurant said it opened at 12. After jiggling the door handle a young girl came and opened the door and we were greeted by a very strong smell of weed smoke, not happy with that at all seeing as how i had my 2 younger children with me. The 2 young girls who were in there working brought our table of six people 2 of the smallest baskets of chips I've ever seen. They had 10-12 different options for the kids menu but of course, the options that my kids wanted, they didn't have. My sons grilled cheese sandwich was cheese put in a hamburger bun and burnt on the bottom, my mom's cheese burrito was cold on the inside, my uncle's $23 nachos looked like vomit on a plate, my kids father also ordered the same nachos, Texas fajita nachos, and there was 1 shrimp and 1 piece of chicken. The bill for 6 people, 2 of them being kids, was over 150. I understand the price of food has gone up but I could've gone a million other places and spent the same if not less for better quality of food. Not to mention they had the music so incredibly loud, even we asked for them to turn it down twice, we had to scream at one another. This will be the LAST time I come here ever again.

Yelp
It takes a lot for me to write a review... usually either a phenomenal experience or food, or really bad. Sadly, this place falls into the "really bad" category. Let me preface this review by saying Mexican food is my all time favorite genre of food. I'd eat at a greasy small town Mexican joint just as quick as some of the "bougier" places in the city, and even prefer it. The service here was actually okay, but the food was what really got me writing this. The queso was flavorless, and got hard immediately. The waiter actually warned us this would happen. We asked for jalapeños to add a little something to it, which were $2.49... for basically a teaspoon of picked jalapeños. It's hyperinflation season, we get it... but yikes. Moving on to the actual reason for this horrible review: the fajitas. Usually you'd think fajitas are a pretty good bet at a Mexican place, but these were not like regular fajitas... and not in a good way. You know how you expect salty, spiced meat and veggies and sometimes might even expect them to be a little greasy? Not these. Imagine again, flavorless, but this time with some bland tomato paste sauce poured all over them. They had the texture of vomit. One star because at least the salsa was decent if you don't mind multicolor chips.

Yelp
53 Health Score in April 2023 down to a freaking 19 health score in Oct 2023. You wanna die or wish you did? Eat at El Bandido.

Yelp
Was craving for some chicken fajitas one night and ordered takeout from El Bandido in L5P. The person who took our order was kinda off-putting and we had a similar interaction with staff inside. Plus the price was much higher than most other places. BUT when we got home and saw the quantity and actually tried the food, we realized - this place spanks. The chicken fajitas were on point and the chicken nachos had all the right toppings. We had enough for leftovers the next day and it was still just as glorious. I wanted to be mad at this place when I drove away, but once I tried their food I decided it was worth the lackluster service.

Yelp
I'm glad we found this gem in this quaint little city in the outskirts of Atlanta because it took us out of the hustle and bustle of the big city and we were able to park for free while we enjoyed dinner. We came here on a Wednesday night just before 6 and were seated immediately. We started of with horchatas ( cinnamon rice milk ) for everybody and it was one of the best decisions of the night, it was definitely one of the best horchatas we've had. The food was really good as well. My son and I shared the steak fajita nachos and the meat with that was seasoned to perfection- lots of flavor and my husband went with a mole lobster enchilada which was unique but tasted really good as well. The food was definitely more on the tex mex side but if you're a fan of authentic Mexican food you could still taste the authenticity of the flavors here.

Yelp
Cannot go wrong at this place. You might recognize the inside of the restaurant from the Melissa McCarthy movie "Super Intelligence". Anyways, really good food and drinks. I had the enchilada dinner (one shredded chicken, one ground beef and one cheese), served with sour cream, sliced avocado and fried rice. $12.99 Also had a frozen strawberry margarita. $8.99 Will be back.

Yelp
By far the worst experience i've had at a restaurant in the past 5 years, so much so I redownloaded yelp just to make this review. For starters the margaritas had absolutely no tequila in them and we had to order a shot to add on top. Second off all of our food was brought out cold, so when the server said hot plate that was laughable! All this to be said I will never return and i can't believe I spend the time and money to be here.

Yelp
Had a show at Aisle 5 so I decided to give this place a try. It's sometimes hard to find parking in L5P but El Bandido has their own parking for patrons. The hostess greeted our party right away and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is very colorful and warm. Upon sitting we were greeted by Sebastian, our server almost immediately with some chips and salsa. The salsa is very good here (bit spicy but I loved it) also the chips seemed to never end, they have the light airy kind that just crunches in your mouth. I tried the Kiwi margarita to drink, and I was NOT disappointed. The guacamole is prepared table side and I really liked how fresh all the ingredients tasted, it didn't need anything at all. For dinner I had the enchiladas which came with rice, beans, and a salad all on the plate. For the price I really didn't expect all that food! Everything was great, hot, and served in a timely manner. We were even early for our show next door. Thanks again Sebastian!

Yelp
terrible food pretty meh service but the food is actually some of the worst mexican food i've ever had in my life like this is laughably bad i don't know how you're able to make such bad mexican food this is so bad that it feels like an insult to the country of mexico and its people, i would pay money to NOT eat here, even the water was bad and i don't know you're able to mess up water like that like oh my god what have i done i will never live this down this why didn't i go literally anywhere else like actually taco bell would've been a better option oh my god what did i do to deserve this i am actually physically and emotionally in shambles and the second i get home im going to sleep away the pain

Yelp
As a long time atlanta local, I'm always looking for the best places for drink specials and good eats that won't break the bank - hell, that won't even make me doublecheck my account before using my debit card lol. El Bandido's on Tuesday is UNDEFEATED! $2.99 margaritas all day the proportions of tequila to sweet and sour is perfect! You'd think they used all limes and club soda or something, but it's SOOO SMOOTH! I've only been on Tuesday, but I was fortunate to get the same severe. I don't quite remember her name but she's from Venezuela, has long hair, and is very attentive and polite! Pro Tip: be sure to get her as your server! Now the first time I went, I came for the drinks and stayed for the vibes. The second time (2 days ago) I decided to actually order some food off of the menu. I'm not too crazy so I went with the ceviche! MY LORD! They packed that thing with so much fresh fish, scallops, shrimp, you name it! It would've been nice if there were a few more crackers to go with the ceviche lol they gave me like 6 packs of crackers and half the Georgia Aquarium to put on top lol Overall, no complaints! Definitely going back after corona season

Yelp
Typical Mexican joint. I really and truly don't have a dynamic review to publish but if you need a Mexican fix in the L5P area, here you go. If you need a margarita or three while in L5P, this should be your jam. If you need a burrito in face, well... whatcha waiting on. Salud mis amigos!

Yelp
I came in this past Saturday afternoon.. (alone for the holidays). I was the only diner and I sat at the bar. I've dined here several time so this review is really late but needed! Raphael was my bartender and he was very pleasant and professional. I was immediately greeted with chips and salsa! I love their salsa! It's always fresh and it's kinda Smokey in flavor. YUM! I started out with the El Jefe margaritas ($9) which was amazing! I only had one and I felt like Vegeta punched me straight in the face! It was strong and had a nice fresh taste! (I love their drinks y'all) I ordered the Chicken Burrito De Lujo ($10). It was stuffed with chicken and topped with cheese, tomato, lettuce, sour cream and a red sauce. I got it with a side of their charro beans! The burrito was really good! I love the red sauce they put on top! The charro beans were somewhat cold so I didn't eat but a few bites. The burrito was so big that I honestly didn't miss the beans. They have so many weekday specials and if you love margaritas.. I would definitely suggest this place!

Yelp
This spot is a gem! I absolutely loved the entire experience. There is street parking and parking around the restaurant for free. The staff was very friendly. They gave me mom and pop vibes. Our waiter was very attentive and really nice. We sat on the patio, it's fairly small, so get there early for a table with an umbrella. Listen, the food was amazing. This is what I call authentic Mexican for a great price. I think I have found a new fave!!!!!
google avatar

Charli A.

Yelp
Food is great and service is great. Good prices. Not too crowded and they have a parking lot

Cayden F.

Yelp
the WORST. how are you gonna have a "limited menu" on cinco de mayo. no specials. everything was up-charged because it was cinco. isn't it supposed to be the other way around?? anyway, the server was ehh. and kept rushing us. i asked if there were onions on my quesadilla that i ordered. he said no. so i was like ok cool, that's fine then. he comes back and there's literally more onions than there was chicken. i asked them politely to remake it and he came back with my same quesadilla, the onions were just picked off! who knows if they wear gloves back there. doubtful. i asked them to take it back and remake it. AGAIN... like what if i would've been allergic? he said he could remake it but they would have to up charge me??? this place doesn't make sense. for it to be in a cool neighborhood like L5P, they need to step it up. 10/10 would not recommend.

Yelp
Great food, solid margs, and service. Def worth a visit or three. We had the combo 1 and the Jalisco tacos and were satisfied with them both. The salsa and chips arrived upon arrival and the Smokey salsa was really tasty. We asked for spicy skinny marg and we got exactly what we wanted--jalapeños smashed in the drink to perfection. Service was super friendly and we will def be back. Maybe next time we will order the massive sized guac they make in front of you, but we better come with bigger appetites!

Antwynette R.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this Mexican restaurant. I was actually trying to go to the Mexican next door, but ended up here. I'm glad I did! First parking was free and there was ample parking in the lot. I love that the restaurant is clean and updated, and they have excellent food presentation. It is also family friendly. We ordered beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas and the lobster enchiladas. Both were exceptional! My only complaint were the margaritas. We ordered skinny margaritas, which lacked flavor and alcohol. Otherwise, a great experience!

Eduardo S.

Yelp
I came for cheese dip and a margarita. Waited to be seated at an empty restaurant, about 10 mins. The cheese dip was put in a microwave, I can tell because I make cheese dip at home and put it in a microwave.... This is where Mexican food goes to die. The margarita was good but it was frozen and poured out of a machine. While writing the review my cheese dip hardened......
google avatar

Chloe S.

Yelp
I've always liked this place. They have $2.99 margaritas on Tuesdays, so naturally I used to come here every Tuesday. The food is still delicious, but they have really raised their prices. I always get the cheese dip and chicken tacos. The chicken tastes stewed and has so much flavor! The grilled chicken is tasty as well. Love the location in little five points, it's always a good mix of people in here and the servers are all really nice. Lots of parking too.
google avatar

Alexander B.

Yelp
No thanks. Taco Bell has better beef. I ate it (so 2 stars) but it looked and felt like dog food. Maybe they cut it with refried beans or something idk. Not good. Also the prices are wild, so glad I didn't order anything but tacos, I'd have been upset about an awful 20$ lunch. But 11ish is whatever I just won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
This food is DELICIOUS! They marinate the meats forreal. This is Authentic Mexican. Just REALLY Good Food! The Steak Tacos, The Veggie Quesadilla, I'm a carnivore, but this baby right here...just ridiculously good. The Pork Tamales come in the Banana Leaf, and they are a really nice size, bountiful with the meat. The food exceeded any thoughts I had about the place. They cook forreal in here. The Chili Relleno, just... I'm going to dream about this food. I just know it.
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
The host pretended to speak Spanish only. We spent the first few minutes trying to understand him and interpret Spanish just to find out he could speak English. The food was just okay. Our server was great. But the overall experience wasn't great. Won't go back.

Yelp
A surprisingly large and surprisingly tasty restaurant nestled on the fringe of L5P's main strip, El Bandido is quickly becoming our go-to Mexican joint in our greater neighborhood. We initially stopped by on a whim, and as we did, the power went out to the whole restaurant. It was the strangest thing, and shouldn't have boded well for our meal, but we were hungry and could be seated on the patio right away so just went with it. They bring everyone their own salsa bowl, which I like. We also ordered the tableside guac ($9), which was good, but since the waitress didn't ask us for our preference on any of the prepared ingredients, I don't know that it's worth an upcharge. (Personally, I'd be fine saving a few bucks and not watching them stir my avocados up - maybe that's just me.) The margs were pretty tasty, and they have quite a long menu of flavor / ingredient options - at least 10. Everything's made to order. Food-wise, what stands out the most is the size of our meals. I had the El Bandido Southwest Burrito ($12) and the BF had Chicken Fajitas ($13). Portions were really great for the money - we even had leftovers to take home!

Yelp
So we came in there for tacos on a Tuesday and had a weird waiter that was not only over bearing but awkward with his approach . He was a terrible comedian and crossed boundaries and said a lot of weird racist joke along the way, now to get to the food we all only ordered tacos . One person got two and I got three for 9.99 and my friend got three . Now I never been to a Mexican establishments where they make you pay for the applied cilantro that should originally come on the taco but not only did they charge 2.50 for the cilantro on the tacos but they charged for the onions on the tacos as well too . I'm fine with the sour cream being a up charge cause that's normal. but the worst part is he never told us any of these things was going to be an up charge at all and that the steak taco was 5.00$ instead of 3 . Morale to the story if your looking for a cheap taco night out to hang with friends do not come to this location go to a club or lounge that's promoting it because the lack of information from the waiter and weird service and weird energy and how empty the restaurant was shows they shouldn't have had my business in the first place . The only thing slightly good about this place was the chips that were fresh but under salted and the 4.99 margaritas I mean you can't possibly fuck that up but some restaurants still manage to do that so yea the food was 1-5 a solid 2.8/3 .... service was a 2 out of 5 and the establishment itself was a 1 . Robert was a weird waiter

Yelp
El Bandido is located in the trendy Little 5 points neighborhood on Euclid. That being said, it does have it's own parking lot and there is also another lot attached to the side of it, so unlike other places where parking is a problem, parking is a little easier here. We brought our meetup group for one of our monthly meetup dinners. We had called ahead and we had a reservation for 30 people for a Friday night at 8pm. They were amazing! They were more than happy to accommodate our group. Waiting on a group that large is not an easy feat. However, they attempted it as best as they could. All in all, they did a pretty decent job! People got a plethora of stuff and so many people tried so many things. No one complained. Everyone LOVED their food. However, there were some dishes that stood out amongst the rest: El Bandido is clearly a Tex Mex kind of place. However, they go out of their way to try and make things fresher and better. Here were the best things on the menu: Tableside Guacamole!!!! OMG!! Can I say YUM??!! They put this chunky guacamole in a huge lava bowl and it is freaking amazing and made with fresh avocados, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, garlic, lime, and everything that guacamole should be made with! El Bandido Pollo- Chicken cooked with bacon in a white cream sauce topped with shrimp served with asparagus....Need I say more. That stuff was amazeballs! I mean...seriously... Lobster Enchiladas- These were filled with succulent bits of lobster and cheese and were stellar Ceviche- The absolute best thing that I tasted! Hands down some damn good ceviche!! Loved Loved Loved! Will for sure get it again! Booze was also really good and reasonably priced! All in all, this is a great place to take a group and a great place for a party. It is also a great place for decent Mexican food. We will be back with our group!!

Yelp
Subpar Mexican food. I ordered a plate of 3 taquitos with rice and beans, and couldn't eat it. The best tasting items were the complimentary chips and salsa. I'm not sure how this place has 4+ stars...

Yelp
In the last year this place has gone really downhill. First of all.... Y'all need to clean up your tables. Walked in there one evening at 530 and no one was in there except for 20 tables full of dirty plates and wait staff sitting on their phones. When I asked them to please clean a table outside on the patio they rewarded us with a hefty eye roll and a side of explosive diarrhea afterwards. Would def recommend if you're a masochist.

Yelp
This has nothing to do with the food, food here is very solid. Service however is pitiful. We live in the area and over the years have come here many times. While I am very understanding of the impact of COVID and how that has affected staff shortages, the experience we have had the last few times we've come here has been TRASH. There are genuinely maybe 3 servers for the entire restaurant and wait times are very long for service. We have waited between 20 and 30 minutes to see a server multiple times, whether we sit inside or outside. What makes it bad is not even really the wait, it's the lack of communication about it. It's also the obliviousness of the wait team in general. It's almost like they avoid looking at you even when it's clear you have not been serviced at all. At the very least someone could check in with us or offer to get us drinks, but none of that happened. So today, after almost another half hour, we walked out and will not be coming back. I genuinely like this place, but this type of experience is unacceptable. If you cannot at least prep your patrons and communicate, please cap the number of people you can take at a time. The food is good though and they have cheap margaritas on Tuesday's

Yelp
Expected more from this restaurant. Ordered guacamole and it tasted like old fruit the chips taste cardboardish and the waiter was not attentive. They got both me and my friends orders wrong. We were the only people in the restaurant. There's also a lot of places that have steady drips from the ceiling. Disappointing

Yelp
After an extended weekend trip to the ATL our last stop before our drive back to Maryland was this nice Mexican joint in Little Five Points. There is plenty of parking on the side and we were welcomed warmly and sat immediately upon entering the restaurant. We had chips and salsa as soon as we sat down! The salsa was not a typical salsa. It had some heat on it and I absolutely loved the flavor. I ordered a vegetable trio which included a bean taco, bean burrito, and rice. I did forget to say no cheese on my burrito and simply took it off the top. My wife and I were both satisfied with our meals plus if you check into the restaurant via Yelp you get a 10% discount which is an extra bonus. This was an easy 5 star review!

Yelp
I have tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt so many times. Each time I am severely disappointed. The service here is awful. On a Friday night, they had one server and one bartender for the entire restaurant. No one is helpful and the food is underwhelming. I will not be back ever again.

Tanner is amazing!!! He was fast and very nice, he refilled our chips and salsa before we ran out! His conversation was pleasantly relatable, he knew the menu by heart!!! This was our first time here but it's our new spot! The drink was also strong and good. THANKS TANNER FOR WINNING US OVER WE WILL BE BACK TO SEE YOU!!!!!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. My girlfriend and I were looking for authentic Mexican food and this place popped up on our radar in Little Five Points. Regrettably, we forgot to take pictures of our enchiladas verdes but they were amazing. We also treated ourselves to a pitcher of the classic margarita. Our server was wonderful and attentive. I will make sure to visit again! Much love from Miami!

Yelp
Long awaited opening of El Bandido results in a solid addition to L5P's restaurant scene. They have free parking in the lot surrounding (mostly) the restaurant. It's pay-to-park only if you're not going to El Bandido, according to the lot attendant we spoke to. El Bandido is surprising spacious given it's small facade. There's a small bar just off the front door, another dining area next to the bar and a larger main dining room towards the back. Small patio in front. Nice setup with the tables, mostly four-tops with a row of banquet seating to accommodate a group. The bar area has a large high table. TVs in the bar area and one large screen in the main room, all with the sound off and all showing football on a Sunday. Mexican music playing, not real loud but above background. Quick, friendly service. Standard Mexican fare plus some restaurant specialties on the menu, which is a high-gloss affair that's easy to read. Many margarita choices, plus beer, wine and booze. 'La Clasica' margarita a little weak and a little uninteresting. Probably why it's relatively inexpensive. I upgraded to an El Bandido for the second round - much better. The tables have huge guacamole stone bowls on them - you can get guacamole made at the table. We did not do so. Chips & salsa are complementary. Thin chips, not oily. Salsa is tasty with a fire-roasted accent but not very picante. Chicken fajitas - large portion, very well prepared. I liked it. Opted for corn tortillas but they fell apart a minute or two after being filled. Still, corn might be a better choice than flour, which tends to be too heavy for me. Cheese and spinach enchiladas are delicious but not very large. Wife ordered a crispy corn tortilla bean taco as well. If you're a light eater, that might be enough for you. El Bandido offers limited vegetarian choices, which might be a mistake given the locale. The tamale is not vegetarian. None of the three beans offered as sides are vegetarian, we were told - apparently they use a fourth variety for the vegetarian bean taco. Food came out without too much delay and our server checked up on us a couple of times. Prices are reasonable. Recommended. Welcome to the neighborhood, El Bandido. 2016 #1

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch yesterday, Wednesday, 8-19-20. No masks. Not the guy who seated us or the woman who took our order. None of the servers, hosts, nor bartenders. We were both famished and enjoyed our meal and our server was enthusiastic and gracious. I've eaten here a few times: enjoyed the food and the hospitality. Why would a restaurant owner/manager endanger staff an customers? Money? COVID-19 soon to follow.

Yelp
This was place is a hidden gem. Tucked away on a side street a block away from 5 points, this restaurant was a great surprise. I got the lunch special #5- beef Chimichanga along with some Mexican rice. It came with a small tortilla edible shell that had sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce and avacoda scooped in it. It was tasty and was only $8.99. Decent size also. While I didn't have any alcohol, there were 4 ladies sitting next to me that each got 4 different frozen drinks from the bar. I overheard them saying they really liked them. So if you can find this place, definitely check it out. Worth the trip. By the way, They offer FREE parking, which is rare if your familiar with the shops & restaurants in 5 points.
