"I'm just going to say it: this is pretty much a hipster dive bar, although you can find a healthy amount of oldtimers here on an average night, also. There’s a giant backyard for outdoor vibes, pinball, and one of those digital jukeboxes that’s actually okay because it has a lot of Misfits songs. When a breakup coincides with a need to budget, there’s no better place to do it than at a dive bar. Fishtown’s El Bar has multiple drinks under $5, and it’s the kind of low-lit place where everyone just keeps to themselves—even if one of you blurts out, “I tattooed your name on my lower back!” Grab a few shots of bottom-shelf tequila, tell them you’ll always be friends (not true), and start looking for a new person to split the rent and make out with." - candis mclean

The dimly lit watering hole place has a few $6 options—including PBR and bourbon and Tectate with tequila.
