Clean restaurant, decent menu, great vibe and food delicious. It was my first time there and I truly enjoyed it. The chips and salsa were good, the Queso dip was amazing. I had the steak quesadilla and it was good. Lots of cheese and the meat ratio was perfect. Good flavor. My friend had the chicken tacos and he said they were really good. Ocean size are decent for the price. Service was great. Highly recommend this place.

Thanks to one of my favorite podcasts (Between Us Girlies), I knew it’d be the perfect spot to check out before our visit to the Eastern State Penitentiary Halloween visit. We got the 64oz pitcher of Mango Margarita (it was strong and delicious), chips and guacamole to share (9/10) and our own entrees. Not only was everything super affordable but the portions were perfect. I got the Baja Fish tacos w/ complimentary beans n’ rice and traded a spicy shrimp taco with my friend. Everything was so good, and the rice and beans were basic (not crazy flavorful). I can see why this is a Philly favorite and would love to come back to try their barbecue portion of the menu.

The food here was mid at best. We ordered burritos and apparently a burrito here is 2 tortilla wrapped taco looking things. Very weird. The food tasted good but the portions were small. They also got our order wrong and then we had to wait a long time for a single order. The server was also unpleasant. He gave us 2 free drinks as a consolation, which were mini coronas…

10/10 The food was delicious, the margarita pitchers were great and the service was good. First time but it definitely won’t be my last.

We popped in for lunch on Tuesday. Very good service and excellent food. The short rib burrito style tacos were fantastic. The carnitas tacos were really good but the short rib was the best. The house margarita were tasty as well.

The mussels are everything! Coupled with a zombie margarita.. perfection! The smoked BBQ chicken was pretty good too nice an crispy

This was my first time experiencing happy hour here and I must say I was a little disappointed. Happy hour only consisted of 3 discounted food and drink options. The burrito was bland and the Smoked wings were too big for my liking. The queso dip was Okay, nothing to rave about. I also got the pitcher of strawberry Margarita which was good for the discounted price of $23.

I’ve enjoyed el Camino real many times, but today we ordered take out, and they didn’t put cheese in the quesadilla, making the other fillings fall out since there’s nothing to hold it together.

I was really excited with the selection of trying El Camino Real on a Friday night. It seemed like it was a very busy, bustling hipster, Mexican restaurant unfortunately being at an outside table with a short staff team made for a challenging night. I ordered the guacamole and chips which was absolutely divine. Hands-down, some of the best guacamole that I have ever had, and the chips were perfectly seasoned For my drink, I ordered Cadillac margarita and unfortunately it was lime forward and was missing the Grand Mariner. Our server was hustling to get out the delicious Nashville Hot wings and fries. The wings were cooked perfectly, the sauce was spicy and unique, and oh the fries. That's right the fries were crispy and seasoned perfectly. Although the drink wasn't as advertised overall, the meal and the service was good. I will try on my next visit back to Philly again as the recommendations were high, and the vibe of the restaurant was very cute.

One of the first places I ever tried in Philly! Food is tasty and has great portions and the drinks are super yummy! The rotating happy hour and deals make it fun to come back every couple weeks and try something new for a lower price. They have outdoor and indoor seating, but I prefer to sit outside if its nice out.

Dined here this past Saturday. Parking: very hard. Find a parking lot or take a ride share. Atmosphere: very loud Service: Tommy was good. He forgot to mention not that we see a sign notifying people that they include $20 gratuity. I did not like that. Drinks: tequila sunrise. It was good and had a little kick. They bring chips and salsa to the table. Food: 1. brisket birria Taco with consomme. They both lacked a robust flavor. 2. Tijuana 'Caesar' salad with romaine lettuce, crispy tortilla, pickled onion, parmesan, Caesar dressing, garlic-butter grilled Texas toast. It was ok. Overall, I was not impressed. I'm not sure if I'll go back to try something else.

Food is solid but this place is great due to the fun vibes and ambiance. The server I had was also very on top of things. Would come back again!

The menu is a bit confusing but look past it because the food is really good! I got a spicy skinny marg that was perfect, and the chips and salsa that included a pico de gallo and a tomatillo salsa. The plain quesadilla actually came with a good amount of veggies and beans, which I loved. The service and vibe were great.

Came here with some friends to enjoy the Taco Tuesday specials before the 76ers game. We were delighted by the Margarita pitcher deals and $2 tacos. The beef taco came out first and I had immediate flashbacks to being at a Taco Bell (not a good thing). However, once the next two came (chorizo, calamari) out, I was surprisingly pleased. Pros: strong drinks (I'd recommend the Blood Orange, don't get anything Mezcal related unless you are into your drink tasting like a Smokey cookout) Cons: salsa, frighteningly quiet waiters, and being charged for an extra pitcher that we didn't order

The food is inconsistent. The same items are great one night and bad another. The enchiladas are consistently bad. The atmosphere is nice and so are the staff. And quiz night is cute

Came here because surprisingly there weren't many other options to choose from around the area. The food was OK and the service was above-average. It seems like they're going for a Mexican/BBQ theme and while not a bad combo, you're not getting authentic Mexican or authentic BBQ in my humble opinion. The best comparison I can think of is that this place is probably closest to a Mexican Chili's except this place does not give you free chips and salsa. In fact, they charge you $5 per person for chips and salsa! I've never seen that type of pricing before for chips and salsa and it's pretty egregious in my humble opinion. Maybe it's a tragic move due to inflation but still not cool. We got the Texas Chili, Nachos, Brisket Tacos and Short Rib Birria Tacos. The chili was $15 and not worth it at all. Skip at all costs. Nachos were pretty good...the crema was a nice touch. Brisket Tacos were also good if you like brisket. The Birria Tacos were not good or prepared the traditional way. I could see myself coming here if the prices were a bit lower, but at the current prices, I can't see myself coming here again. But it is a decent option for the area.

Very bland food but decent ambiance. Would not come back. The carnitas tacos tasted watery and bland. AUTOMATIC 20% tip, do not be fooled. Gross tacos

Well, overall big NO. Service, food or anything. We thought to give it a try but we got a extremely overcock short rib that felt like microwave warm, cuz the inside was cold. Coleslaw salad that felt expired. And service that took forever. First and last for me. That's for sure.

Probably the best Mexican on 2nd Street. Pretty good margaritas and their portions on the food is pretty heavy on the meat so if you're a meat eater, I would highly recommend this place!

In with a coworker this evening for a very late lunch/dinner. The neighborhood streets are terrible parking is scarce. Potholes large enough to lose a person in. We sat at a table in the back corner against the wall in the Christopher was out bartender/server. He greeted us promptly with a great smile.

I hate to leave this because El Camino was one of my spots when I lived in Philly 10 years ago. Having just moved back to the city, I was excited to bring my husband to my old stomping grounds but was left questioning if El Camino was as good as I remembered it or if it had just gone down hill since the last time I was there. The nachos are still good but that's the only thing I'd suggest here. Definitely better Mexican (or TexMex) food to be found in the city.

The drinks are strong, the venue is cute, they have good happy hour deals. My last experience with the staff was not good. Our waiter tried remembering our taco orders, but couldn't get our orders correct. When I politely said he may want to write down our orders since we were ordering pitchers & tacos in batches, he got rude and put the blame on us. We got 2/3 of what we ordered and waited 30m for a side of sour cream but after multiple reminders asked another waiter who brought it out right away and was way nicer about it. He didn't take off any of the food we never got from the bill and took our %20 tip and charged my credit card and extra %20 tip. It was already tense & uncomfortable so I just paid the bill but I won't be coming back.

Came here to grab dinner to go and had a terrible experience. Cons - they don't take to go orders over the phone or at least they strongly discourage you to do that. Instead you are directed to use their online pick up service - this online order system provides super inaccurate pick up times. I show up and waited 20 minutes with my 2 kids...then after 20 minutes they bring out the food and the chef runs after me and asks to wait longer because they forgot something. So we waited a grand total of 30 minutes!! - food portions are tiny. I ordered the fried avocado tacos and I felt like I was eating more of the fried batter instead of the avocado. - the inside of this place is dark with interesting drawings on their windows...definitely not a kid friendly place The worst part? They automatically tack on a 20% gratuity for a pick up order. I was shocked. So I'm tipping them for making mediocre food and extremely poor timing? Great. The only great thing about this place is their queso is so good. Not sure if it's worth me coming back for that though.

After not being able to get into another restaurant for Taco Tuesday, my friend and I gave El Camino Real a try. Around 6pm there was a 30 min wait for an outside table for 2 - since it was a day it wasn't a big deal. Apparently they need to scan your credit card to 'lock in' your outside table in case you dine and dash...can't believe that happens. After reading the reviews, I was expecting long delays in ordering food, receiving it and drinks, delayed waiter check-ins, etc but was pleasantly surprised that it was all good!! No complaints with service. I ordered the Nashville Hot fish. It's a nice servicing of fish and I'd say that it had a good kick. Overall I'd say it was good but it wasn't great. They were very stingy with the ketchup (that seemed to be mixed with bbq sauce and franks red hot?) because they used small disposable sauce containers filled about halfway. When it was time to head out we remembered that the restaurant automatically adds 20% tip to the bill. Thought that was interesting! Id be up for going back and trying something else!

This place is the worst place to go to down to the people that are serving us! they have nasty attitudes and they literally force 20% tip on your check when they don't need to because the people that work there are rude! this place needs to hire new people and new managemen! I will not be returning here Again.

Oh, El Camino! I see it's my 3rd review even though I've been here 1,000 times. I have a different experience each time I come here. I keep coming back for the overpoured Tequila pitchers. El Camino seriously needs a front cover for their margaritas. This visit was extremely weird though because of our waitress, Zoe. Wow. When my sister and I think about this night we still cannot believe it happened. In the beginning, Zoe was very sweet and then she started DRINKING ON THE JOB. Her personality would also change for each table. Two black men sat down next to us and she started to call them "bro" and from here on out I knew it was only to get worse. The "bros", my sister and I actually started talking and drinking together. We asked Zoe for another round of drinks and she forgot. She tried to blame it on us saying "we were drunk" and we all looked at each other and we're like ummm no, that's you. At one point we needed to get another waitress because WE NEVER SAW ZOE after that. When Zoe saw another waitress helping us, she popped up behind us! She goes, "I was just sitting over there, if you need me let me know." Why are you sitting down with other people when you're on the job?! The dessert. Terrible and frozen. I had to stab it so hard with my fork and the brownie was able to be picked up all together because it was stuck together. Zoe was at least helpful with that and took it off the bill. I'll always come back to El Camino for the drinks and the overall good vibes but I will steer clear of Zoe.

I generally try not to give bad reviews with all that's going on in the world these days, but my last visit here really left me needing to say something. I went in to buy a gift card. I told the bartender the amount I wanted. She added a 20% tip surcharge to the gift card (which isn't reflected on the gift card amount, it's just a separate tip) and told me AFTER she charged me. It wasn't worth the money to argue at the time but the more I thought about it, the more messed up it seemed. Either: 1) the bartender stole tips from the waitstaff who will be working the table when that gift card is used or 2) they double dip on the tips from gift cards since most people wouldn't realize the tip was "prepaid" on a gift card if it isn't on the base amount. Neither is acceptable. They have good food & happy hour specials. Outdoor seating area is nice. I've been in a few times but won't be back because of this.

I went to 2nd street festival this weekend with a friend. Northern liberties was very crowded and we just wanted a quick cocktail to quench our thirst after a day in the sun. El Camino is nice for a convenient drink in No Libs. Currently they have an extended outside due to COVID seating. We sat outside and got to people watch the scene. I had two of the Koffee Koolatta. It reminded me a lot of a dunkin donut coolatta. I think the alcohol in the drinks made wasn't very strong unfortunately.

Overall, El Camino Real is a fine Tex-Mex restaurant. The chips and salsa was probably my favorite part of the meal. The drinks were not very strong at all (the mango margarita was SO SWEET), and even after 3 different ones, just felt like I paid for three expensive non-alcoholic drinks. The tacos were fine. Not bad, but not great. Not a huge portion for what you're paying for. I think I'd give another star if the quality of food and drink had matched the price that they are charging.

Finally I had the chance to dine here. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us in a safely spaced seating area. They adhere the social distancing guideline as each tables has nice space in between. Appetizers: my favorite is the elote. Corn is sweet smothered with creamy flavorful topping sprinkled with cojita cheese. Special for that night was smoked salmon pastrami tostada. Beautiful presentation. It comes with 2 fried tortilla chips with slices of smoky salmon pastrami with spicy slaw. So good. I hope they make it as permanent menu. Guacamole was fresh with plentiful chips. Our table ordered fried pickles and stuffed jalapeños. They didn't disappoint. Main course: Texas chopped salad with goddesses dressing. I added shrimp. I love everything about this salad. It has chopped apples, crispy fried Brussels sprouts, sweet corn, pumpkin seeds that gave the crunch. My husband had fish sandwich. The fish was big and perfectly cooked. Dessert: tres leches. At a glance it looked like a tiramisu due to the cream cheese frosting with cinnamon dusting. Cake is moist and not overly soaked. Not too sweet and enough sweetness in the cream cheese. The best I've ever had. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The cocktail drink was not too boozy and not too sweet either. Great balance Dessert:

Rarely do I leave short reviews, but if you're looking for quality food don't go here. Waiters were nice but it's no surprise it only took 3 minutes or less for the cold food to come out. Then after trying to eat the crap, it was definitely just thrown together. The manger is also rude and nasty. My stomach is sick from undercooked shrimp..hope you don't go here as they're better spots around. This place is a dump aside from their drinks

I previously ( approximately 1-4 yrs ago) had fair experiences. It's been a while. few places in the area I patronize for many of the same reasons. I had an incident today. The manager was gracious. Very stellar. I dropped in to order take out. My bill came with a 20% gratuity. They do clearly charge a 20% gratuity when dinning, but I am unclear why a grat of 20% to pack an order to go? It was even more upsetting to get my food home and discover unseared pork belly ( 3 pieces ) could not be Eaten. An extremely dry and tough piece of short rib, a piece of moist brisket that was dry, and last a side of quac watery with a large pit inside. It also had several outside end pits. I should have taken all of it back, but at this point, I am just done The manager was gracious and refunded the gratuity. Start really planning where you go and patronize only the businesses that provide consistent service. This place has seemed to have gone way down.

Large portion Tex-MEX style food. I tried the gringo style shrimp burrito and wasn't super impressed, but my husband had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese and loved it. The restaurant is very spacious indoor, and has plenty of outdoor seating!

Much to update, as my old review was 3 years ago. Came by for late lunch on a Sunday. Sad to hear they took away the unlimited chips and salsa deal. The workers were slammed! Came around 3:30, ordered our smoked meats at 3:50 and we weren't served our food until 4:40. Apparently there was a kitchen mix up and they didn't put in our order? but about 45 minutes of waiting for one plate of food while others around us were served multiple things was a bit unfortunate. Had to head out and grab to-go boxes upon serving. Once we were able to eat it, the pork shoulder was my favorite and the brisket was alright, but the flavors of the potato salad, cole slaw and beans was pretty on point. Food is good, though the timing and pricing don't necessarily match up.

Stopped by for an late lunch/early dinner this weekend. Their outdoor eating area is nicely decorated and has a cute vibe, but we ultimately decided to eat inside because it was a hot day out. We were seated right away and our waitress quickly took our drink order. Their blood orange margarita was delicious! I liked that it was a mix of Mexican, Texas bbq, and Tex-mex...the menu had tons of options that looked really delicious. We order chips and salsa to share, I liked both of the salsa. My boyfriend ordered a cubano and he loved it said it was the best Cuban sandwich he'd had in Philly. I had the shrimp quesadilla which was good, way bigger than I expected had to take half of it home. The decor was nice, the safe was speedy and efficient, the food was good. I'd definitely return here, can't wait to try more of their menu!

Hmmm I've tried the Mexican food here and i was hardly impressed. I've heard the bbq is good I'll try that at some point i guess. The other day my friends enjoyed their food. But i didn't have this supper cool drink that came in a boot shaped glass.

I don't understand the good reviews of this place. I went recently and the food arrived cold and chewy. We tried brisket tacos and they did not look like brisket or taste anything like brisket. It tasted like a reheated steak that was cut into pieces that resembled dog treats. The only reason gave 2 stars was because the service was attentive.

I was there today was not satisfied with my lamb that I had the manager sent it back cuz it was tough she brought me back another one with all this fat on it I just asked her to take it off my bill and she refused the manager customer service was terrible and I was not satisfied with my order and my bill was $100 y'all have to do better

El Camino is always a great go to the food is always great and the service is always nice. The servers really listen to you and help to provide a good experience. the inside of the place is dim and cool so bring a jacket. I typically sit outside. We went for happy hour, the fried pickles were delicious. the margarita pitchers were great and did the job!! We ordered strawberry and mango and they taste great mixed. Everything was a 10/10

We used to go here a lot with a larger group. Casual and fun. Great margaritas. Food is ok. Definitely go for the Tex Mex vibe stuff instead of full Mexican. I did really like the bean dip.

I liked this place and the servers were great. The drinks were good too. I liked the shrimp tacos a lot. Not too spicy and just the right amount of flavor. I wish the queso came with chips instead of tortillas but it was good. I'd come again and try something new.

The food is good, but they have some very scummy, underhanded business practices. They include a small-print 20% gratuity on TO GO ORDERS. I didn't even have a server- who is this fee going to? Greedy business owners, that's who. I don't mind tipping a few bucks occasionally for take out, but a mandatory 20% fee is both unreasonable and underhanded. I'll be finding more honest businesses to go to from now on, thanks.

My friends and I only ordered starters for us all to share and everything was DELICIOUS. I can only imagine that the rest of the menu is just as good!

I don't usually give restaurants 5 stars, but they deserve it! Me and a friend went here on a Tuesday night and we sat outdoors. It was nice and warm and comfortable. We started off with the guac and it was AMAZING! the chips were so good and fresh and were seasoned. We got a drink (strawberry lime-ade margarita) it was good. I'm not a strawberry person but I still enjoyed it and it got me a little lit. I ordered a lemon drop 5/5 ! The star of the show were the birria tacos. They were short rib birria tacos and it was the best thing I've ever had it's nothing bad to say about this place. Good food + Good drinks is always a vibe.

This wasn't my third time at El Camino however this was my best time at El Camino. The last few times at this establishment I always order the shrimp tacos because they are really delicious. Whenever I order the shrimp tacos I get the Spanish rice and black beans along with itI didn't know that they sold seafood on the menu until I actually had time to redo the entire menu. El Camino as a well-known Mexican restaurant in the north liberty section of Philadelphia. The servers are always hip and well spoken and really cool. The menu is very large but yet easy to read. The bathrooms are always clean and smell good. While here I order the prince Edward Island muscles with sausage. The muscles came in a very savory Tuscan like broth with tomatoes, onions, parsley, and cilantro. They were really tasteful and huge! The broth was absolutely delicious. I was completely stunned at how good they actually were. I highly recommend these mussels, maybe even two orders lol. If you ever find yourself in Northern liberties wanting some great Mexican food please check on El Camino and tell them Shimmy sent you!!!

I recently went to El Camino after having a mediocre visit a few years ago. I went in on a Saturday afternoon kinda during off hours to get a late lunch. The place was a little loud but relatively empty so we were seated quickly in a booth. I quickly saw the brunch menu that ended at 3pm and was stoked to see mango guacamole. It was a little expensive at $12 but I wanted it to I splurged. They give a perfect amount of guac for sharing and the chips are seasoned well. We ended up skipping the drinks but they have a ton of margarita flavors and it seems like they were doing a shot advent calendar...which is interesting haha. The main I ordered was a gringo burrito with seitan. I;m a vegetarian so I am grateful for all the options El Camino has to offer. Honestly, this was just what I was craving and was DELICIOUS. Everything tasted fresh and not too dry. Maybe I'm a gringo but I loved this burrito. Definitely a solid Mexican place in Philly and I'll be back!

I hadn't been here in years! Probably since they first opened and my husband indulged in a memorable (for him) skillet of brisket mac & cheese. My girlfriend and I had missed the window for opening hours at a newer sushi spot around the corner and this filled in as a nice, casual, back-up place, one I'm happy to have back on my radar. It is one of my good friends old favorites and since she was treating me for my birthday, how could I possibly say no? It wound up being the perfect place to nosh, drink and chat, in a fun, colorful atmosphere without being rushed! Happy accident. I actually wasn't very hungry, but found myself rather intrigued by their Mexican fusion offerings.... I started with a seasonal pumpkin brew after a busy day. They had a few on tap in October, which I appreciated and love. I forget what it was called, but it was a delicious cinnamon spiced IPA for $6. We shared her favorite, the fried pickles. They were a decent sized portion and remained juicy and perfectly dill and sour. They had a lighter coating that didn't over power the round and weren't dripping in grease. In fact, if I didn't know better I would say they were even baked. Loved them! I was shocked to see so many vegan and vegetarian offerings. I didn't remember them! We shared a plate of the veggie 'wings'. We chose the buffalo (they also have garlic and honey something)and they had an awesome kick. They were made of seitan and had crisped edges! Absolutely tasty and a plate I would love to share with hubs when we return. (And he's a meat-eater!) She also got a totally stuffed smoked chicken quesadilla to go. It was oozing with cheese and had an aioli drizzle atop. I noticed their tequila tastings, which sound fun and blood orange margs, which are my favorite! Would definitely love to come back for both! I also noticed the quizzo sign! We are always looking for new spots to play! So fun! I love the murals and lights in the place...so would my kidddos. And the outdoor seating, which will be calling my name come spring and summertime. Definitely heading back soon...for another plate of those wings, some tequila and a round of quizzo. Just my kind of place! Yum!! A good, laidback, less expensive place for a casual bite, or just to grab drinks with a friend and catch up! Nice to have one of these places when we're in the No Libs area.

Last night was my first time at El Camino, and I had a great time! The strawberry margaritas are great and the location is perfect. But buyer be warned, the food is outrageously over priced. I understand covid has been tough on restaurants, however, a 15% covid fee and price increases seem a bit much. I wish I could say the food was worth the price, but it was not. My burritos were made sloppy and only had 2 shrimp in them. The mac and cheese was also average for the price. El Camino does have a bbq side to their menu, which may be better, but my experience on the Mexican side of the menu was not pleasant. Overall, El Camino is a great spot to hang out and grab a drink, but I would stray away from ordering food at least until the prices match the quality of the food.

Place can get super busy so service can be slow but since the vibes are so fun, I never mind waiting. Their food is delicious - I love the option for both Texas and Mexican. We always do a combo of BBQ and tacos / chips/ fries / apps. The margaritas are no joke!!! Tons of drink options and each one is delicious. I love it here!!

A solid happy hour. As a Texan, I wouldn't come here for nor rave about the food. It's definitely a Tex-Mex menu, with Americanized versions of your Mexican favorites. The only thing I've ever had beyond chips and guac here was a BBQ brisket quesadilla. It was rich, greasy, and tasty, but I just imagine all the departed abuelas turning over in their graves. I've been here heaps just because it's convenient to where my friends live, not necessarily because we LOOOVE it. They offer half-price margaritas and pitchers until 7pm, and they have dog-friendly outdoor seating. This makes it a pretty nice place to converge. I will say, the inside acoustics are terrible. It's so freaking loud inside the restaurant. The vibe is nice, but it's very laidback casual - like "servers in cargo shorts and t-shirts" casual. If I wasn't always in this neighborhood, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. But for its convenience, it's alright.

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday a few days ago. The food and drinks were good! The Nashville Hot Fish sandwich w/fries was still tasty, though it had less food than I remembered from my first visit last summer. They were nice enough to bring a slice of pie (they were out of their current dessert, creme brûlée) with a candle for my friend. They automatically added a 20% gratuity to our bill, which seemed a bit much considering we were two people, not a group.

Just had the most unpleasant experience at this restaurant. The server came up to us and didn't even make eye contact, tell us his name, or welcome us. I would call him out here, but I can't! When we got our appetizers, I asked for small plates. The woman who brought them just rolled her eyes and walked away, and then did bring them back. When we got our dinner, we needed a sharp knife. the waiter said that he searched the restaurant, and there were no clean sharp knives at the moment, so my son could not eat his dinner. Nobody came over to ask us how things were going. I had to walk up to the bar to order waters because our drinks were empty for a long time. Finally, I had to go up to the bar to ask for my check because no one came back to our table.I was planning on giving a small tip, but they kicker is that this restaurant includes 20% gratuity. It's a wonder why they don't make any effort towards service!

I'm in Philadelphia visiting my best friend, knowing I'm a lover of all things Tex-mex, she decide to make reservations for Friday at 8:30. We arrive, only for 3 hostess to tell us that they don't take reservations on the weekends. My friend had proof that she called, however we were told several times that "all staff knew the reservation policy." My friend then asked to speak to a manager, as we didn't think a 45 minute wait for a table was acceptable when a reservation was made. We then met Cecil, the manager. We explained to him our situation, he was kind to apologize and had us seated within 2 minutes. I appreciate the way Cecil handled this situation, as he told us he was "solution focused." Moving on... The food was amazing! I had the shrimp quesadilla and tried the calamari tacos. The shrimp quesadilla was super cheesy, with black beans and large cut shrimp. Every bite, was a gooey, seafoody happy place. By far the best quesadilla I've had. The calamari tacos, I thought were unique. The calamari was very tasty, with some sort of glaze! Excellent texture and flavor profile. The frozen margaritas were pretty small for the price and underwhelming. I'd recommend this place based upon the food.

I give this place a "4" overall - a "5" for the concept and vibe and a "3" for the food. This is a drum, festive place in the heart of the NoLibs neighborhood and has a Mexican/BBQ fusion menu. Again the vibe is great and the food, while not awful, could be better. I got a "bbq mixer" with pork shoulder, pork belly, and sausage. The sausage was quite good but the other two meats were rather dry. The decent sauces saved them somewhat but was hoping for more. We did get jalapeño poppers as an appetizer which were quite good. A lot of potential here, just gotta focus on some of the smaller things

Good happy hour place for Margaritas. Its half off 5-7pm on week days. So a pitcher is around $12 which much cheaper than places around. We added a extra flavor for $4 . We added mango and the drink came in way to sweet. Alcohol was less. So was not up to the mark. You get bottomless chips n salsa for $1/person. Was a good deal. Chips were nice n crispy. Some chips were seasoned like Dorittos. Liked it very much. We ordered spicy shrimp burrito. Loved the sauce inside. The only complaint was that there were pieces of tail left on the shrimp. This was unusual as you should not expect people to open burrito wrap to remove the tail. Overall decent place for happy hours
