Really good food, good service and a very nice environment. They open for breakfast and lunch but close around 6:30pm. The breakfast is really good and if you want to try, the omelette with escamoles is very good. For lunch I recommend the moles. Both the poblano and the green moles are really good

Honestly this was just alright. It is just a standard Mexican restaurant in Mexico. Mexican food is great, but you can also find the same quality and same price just about anywhere. Not really sure why there is a big hype about this place in particular. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Portions were very small.

A cousin suggested to go to this place for brunch. It was amazing. Food really good as well as service. Enchiladas were incredible (all different styles) as well as the home made bread and hot cocoa. A must go place.

Starter pack + more. Great restaurant, rarely english speaking personell inside, so get ready your translator. But everyone super- friendly!!

El Cardenal came highly recommended by a friend, and it didn’t disappoint! I was promptly seated, service was spot on, and they even had the menu in both English and Spanish—smart move. I started with the tacos de suadero, one of my favorites. They give you enough tortillas to make your tacos as hefty or as light as you like. How do I know the meal was great? No food pics—devoured it instantly, no regrets. I did, however, snap a shot of my tres leches dessert, which was delicious. The waiter helped me navigate the dessert options, and tres leches was a win. If you’re after a more restaurant-like vibe with gourmet Mexican food that doesn’t break the bank, this is your spot. Highly recommend!

In short, we didn’t find the food worth the wait just to get a seat. We waited outside for nearly 45 minutes to be seated. As soon as you are seated they would bring coffee and chocolate milk pot and ask which one you want. We opted for the chocolate milk which was delicious. Then one person will bring a basket of breads to your table and ask which ones you want. We had the apricot and pineapple pastries. These happen before you are given the menu so if you are first timer or tourist you wouldn’t know how much these cost. After this they give the menu. For the main order we had a chicken omlette and enchiladas with red sauce. They actually gave the beef enchiladas in green sauce. The sauce was pretty good so we didn’t mind. The flavours in the omelet were very mild. There was an orange sauce which was pretty less in quantity so didn’t make the bites enjoyable. This was served with 3 slices of boiled potatoes which was pretty bland. We also got guava and orange juices which were freshly squeezed with no added sugar. Overall, everything apart from the main dishes were really good.

This is one of my favourites restaurants in Mexico City. The quality of this place is memorable. For start you need to wait usually 30min depend on what time you arrive. The hot chocolate and the Mexican bread is one of the best I’ve ever tried in my life. The Arrachera and Cecina with chilaquiles are fantastic. I also recommends the tongue enchiladas with green sauce. A great place to always recommend and come back for a perfect breakfast.

Fantastic brunch restaurant. Wait time was about 40 minutes but was very worth it. This was my first time to this location as I usually visit the zocalo location. Service and the food was of excellent quality as expected. I recommend starting with the signature hot chocolate and a sweet bread. My favorite dish is the Arrachera with red salsa chilaquiles. The flavors are perfect from the crispy chilaquiles to the savory skirt steak finished off with a delicious flan. Service here was also top notch. Come early as there’s a wait on Sunday’s.
