"Come to this Argentinian steakhouse in theWest Loopif you like to party. It’s more casual than a stuffy white-tableclothed spot and has plenty of room at the bar to loosen up and be a little loud. And if you’re sitting at the kitchen counter, you’ll get a view of the staff constantly feeding the live-fire grill like it’s hungry for burnt wood. Everything that grill touches is worth ordering, likeoystersthat channel the flavor of sour cream and onion chips, smoky morcilla with tangy salsa mostasa, and, of course, the delicious steaks. They’re all served with a zesty chimichurri, and our favorite one to share (though we’re calling dibs on the last bite) is the 32 oz bone-in ribeye." - Team Infatuation
"My beef-filled week included a visit to chef John Manion’s ode to Argentina’s traditional asados. Opened in 2016, the restaurant recently underwent an interior renovation, but the menu — thankfully — remains as stellar as ever. A wood-burning hearth powers the kitchen, cooking steaks as well as a variety of other offerings. The grilled prawns were the standout: served halved and simply dressed with olive oil, cumin, and a hit of citrus. "This Argentinian spot is fun and a little loud, with a live-fire grill putting out some delicious food in the open kitchen. Everything that grill touches is worth ordering. We like the steak, but don’t overlook the grilled oysters or sweetbreads, and breaking up the meat-fest by ordering plenty of sides is a good idea. El Che works for a group since everything is easy to share, but it’s great for date night, too. No matter why you’re here, it’s an easy place to have a good time.
