Authentic Mexican cemitas & tacos on sourdough tortillas
"El Chingon took everything we love about elote and leveled up. Their Papas Chingonas are topped with Mexican mayo, cool queso fresco, Tajín, and a splash of lime. The fries are thin-cut, but stand strong under the weight of all that goodness. Ceviche Tropical and the Cemita Clásica" - alison kessler
"Like the original in East Passyunk, the new El Chingon is bringing bold color and flavors to Fishtown. The tacos and cemitas (on housemade tortillas and buns) maintain the same high standards—the birria and al pastor versions of both are juicy, deeply savory, and have just a hint of spice. And if you’re looking for something lighter, both the guacamole and elote are fantastic. Soon enough, margaritas will be available to enjoy on the small patio, but until then, it’s an easy place to grab a great Mexican spread without the tequila, or take your haul to go." - candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, candis mclean, candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, alison kessler, candis mclean, alison kessler
"More tacos and cemitas are never a bad thing—especially if they’re from El Chingon. The fantastic South Philly Mexican spot opened its second location at a corner patio in Fishtown. They’re serving up the usual suspects: elote, tacos, and cemitas, and will soon have margaritas as well. We checked out El Chingon Fishtown and added it to the Hit List." - candis mclean, alison kessler
"Chef Carlos Aparicio is bringing the flavors of East Passyunk’s El Chingon to a new location in Fishtown, the former Heffe tacos spot. Guests can order Aparicio’s exemplary cemitas, tacos with sourdough tortillas, sweet conchas and more, from the takeout window on Front Street. There are shaded picnic tables to sit and eat, and plans for a jardin de agave, or agave garden in the near future." - Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme
