El Colibrí Cocktail Bar

Easily my fave bar in PV. I visited on the weekdays and the speakeasy vibe was great for meeting people! The drinks were also amazing, during my trip I had a chance to try 6 of them, none disappointed. Meanwhile the bartenders and staff were incredibly kind and helpful, I loved talking to them and they gave some rad recommendations for things to do in general. They put aside a cup for me to take home from the bar at a very fair price, making it the perfect souvenir. Do yourself a favour and check this place out! I didn’t get a chance to go, but I also heard there is jazz nights on Thursdays 👀

I've been coming to this spot consistently for two years and I love it so much! The vibe is immaculate (music Thursday-Saturday!!) and the service is great. I highly recommend ordering the Margot margarita, although a bit pricey (understandable given how they sourced the ingredients), it was one of the best cocktails I have ever had and will continue to think about it for the rest of my life.

Some of the best cocktails we had in Puerto Vallarta, with a fun and moody atmosphere. As the night goes on the music picks up and the dance floor fills up. A good way to fill up on tasty drinks and dance the night away.

A beautiful spot. It feels like you’re in a welcoming hip jungle. Everything is well thought out. We had Juan to help us choosing cocktails and he was happy to chat with us in the language of our choice (Spanish or English). He was knowledgeable even to the point of explaining the subtleties of the mezcal in our cocktails. The atmosphere at Colibrí is chill, velvety, breezy jungle-y. It feels like you are entering a speak easy through their massive door at the entrance and as soon as you walk in, you know you are at the right place. Colibrí is a gem! It was the perfect date night. We are a couple in our late 30s-early 40s.

Just around the block from all of the clubs that serve disappointing watered down drinks, it was refreshing to find this speakeasy type of bar that makes amazing cocktails. The drinks were all so unique and tasted amazing. Personal favorites were “Tu y Yo” and “Paradise”. Juan made excellent recommendations and provided great service.

everything was very satisfactory. We really enjoyed the cocktails and the decorations/vibes were immaculate. Thank you so much to the staff for making our birthday celebration very special. It was definitely a night to remember.

This is the best bar we’ve been in Puerto Vallarta. Staff, cocktails, music, vibe, the ambiance, everything was amazing (especially Carajillo - soo delicious). Thanks guys, see you next time!

El Colibri is an excellent speakeasy style cocktail lounge. The handcrafted cocktails are all well balance and delicious! Original creations that are truly outstanding. The atmosphere is kinda Jungle House, on dark side with some bangers (EDM) playing on the sound system. It’s not too loud to hold an easy conversation though. Service was prompt and friendly. It opens at 8pm if ya show up at 7:55 don’t panic the gate will probably still be closed. Someone will be along to open it on time. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys craft drinks in a unique atmosphere. We will be back. Thanks Alex and Crew great job!

Not to be rude, but you'd be stupid to not go here if you're a fan of mixology. Reservations can be made online. Just walk or cab here since it's on that downtown street which is busy even at 10 pm. Their inner room has a live DJ and jungle themed, always bustling with party groups and bachelorette parties. The drinks are complex and delicious.

Absolutely fell in love with this hip, speakeasy-type bar in Puerto Vallarta. It has an open-air concept with tons of fresh plants and dim lighting. The bartenders were super cool and down to chat with us. Their cocktail list incorporates an entire spectrum of flavors, and there is certainly something for everyone. They even make all their syrups in house, which makes their cocktails truly shine. We tried their signature passionfruit and seasonal watermelon cocktails and they were both delicious. Super refreshing in the summer humidity. We could definitely taste the real fruit and well-balanced flavors in each drink. Definitely stop by for a vibeee.

This a very modern, hip bar with great cocktails. They play house music and other EDM. The service is excellent. The only issue here is that the prices for the drinks are very high for the area. You could find similar cocktails for lower prices elsewhere.

What a pleasant surprise! I came from Washington, DC, where there are tons of hidden bars and speakeasies. Stumbling upon El Colibri was a highlight of my trip! Definitely will go back with friends! Great drink selection!

The music is loud and you can barely have a conversation. They didn't accept cards when we were there so we went to get cash and the ATM we went to was also a scam. Then at this bar we saw a sign that looks like it says beers are 1$ so we got 4. We pointed to the sign when we ordered the beers. Our bill was way higher than we expected so 5 of the staff members surrounded us telling us we were wrong about the prices and laughing at why we would ever think the prices would be that good. The staff were not helpful or understanding about the confusion. They purposefully try to confuse you about the cost of a beer so they can get you to buy more.

A diamond of a cocktail bar in the heart of puerto Vallarta. Extensive menu with well crafted cocktails that aren't your standard fare. Very few classics, though I'm sure you could order one. My partner had a "Riki Tiki" which she described as an alcoholic coconut milk shake and the best tiki drink she's ever had (talks about it daily) and I had the house Negroni that was also incredible. Nice spin on the original. Overall, loved this place. Juan, our server, was very helpful and provided very friendly service. If I get the opportunity I will absolutely return. Thank you!!

Loved the vibe at this bar. I made a reservation a few hours before and it was so worth it. We got there before it was crowded so we had a ton of space. I heard they could get crowded later in the night. We were there 9:30 till 11 and it was just picking up as we left. The drinks were gorgeous and our server was pretty attentive.

Amazing vibe with intimate feel and spectacular jungle ambiance- absolutely a must visit!! Special shout out to DJ Void Love, Anylu Cruz. She's fire A gem of a place for sure!

Who would have thought I would end up at such a cool speakeasy while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta. This spot was not a planned outing, but after a long day of sightseeing and excursions, my friend and I wanted a chill night with a good cocktail. El Colibri is located very close to where the major clubs and bars are in Puerto Vallarta but the exact opposite of the loud and packed clubs. It's small but intimate, chill and vibey music, but the cocktails were also amazing and so good. Not expensive at all (or so I thought) as we had 3 cocktails and I paid $45 USD. They also gave my friend and me a shot on the house for her birthday. I would definitely recommend and go back if I'm in PV again!

If you love craft cocktails, look no further. I was disappointed with the mainstream Puerto Vallarta nightlife scene, so it was a pleasant surprise to find this low key speakeasy playing more chilled out electronic music inside of a flower store. The cocktails are incredibly thoughtful and they use high quality liquors mostly from Mexico. The bartenders don't all speak fluent English, but their mixology skills definitely make up for it. We had the Miss Yuzu and the paradise cocktail with pineapple. Both were a little on the sweet side but the flavors were fantastic. It was a weeknight so the bar wasn't too crowded and we got a great seat in the patio area and enjoyed our drinks under the stars.

In a part of the city where horrible bars abound and everybody wants 140 pesos for a trash margarita, my goodness, just spend the extra 40 pesos and have a great cocktail here. I had the riki tiki (inveterate tikihead) and loved it. Creamy, sweetness just right, still packing a punch. I watched these guys make cocktails, and they know what they are doing. Now, constructive feedback: turn the music down. Also, don't ask me if I have a reservation when your bar is literally empty. And don't try to sell me a seat with a two-drink minimum when, again, your bar is empty. We sat at the bar and it was free. Hopefully some of the try-hard weirdness goes away and they just relax into chill awesomeness. The drinks are already there.

Excellent cocktail bar in downtown PV. I love the vibe and the atmosphere and the drinks were upscale without being too pricey. They had a fun DJ while we were there to set the tone. I had a Negroni which was also excellent. A must do for drinks.

Saw this bar was one of the top recommended bars in PV. Decided to stop by for one drink as we had been hoping around drinking. The entrance reminds me of a spa so i didn't realize it was a speakeasy bar. Loved the surprise! Once past the main door and into the bar it was so dimly lit (went in the evening). Loved the tropical vibes, green walls, and plants. The actual bar area is small, but the patio area is bigger. We ordered the paradise drink as the picture looked good and it contained an ingredient i had not heard of before. The drink was so good! Had we not been drinking prior to visiting Colibri i would have ordered 2 other drinks to try as much as i could. I highly recommend coming for drinks (didn't try the mocktails). FYI If you want to sit in the patio area that area requires people consume $250 pesos worth of items.

We hosted our pre-wedding party at El Colibri and had the absolute best time. They accommodate our large group of roughly 50 guests, and were incredible hosts. The drinks were delicious and everyone had an incredible time with a great DJ.

Was lucky enough to try this speakeasy. If you're in the area, I recommend it. It had a tropical vibe. Their drinks are good and so was the service. I had luz and it was delicious.

This intimate hideout was introduced to us by our friendly "Secret" Airbnb Experience ex-pat tour guide Amberleigh. You can easily walk by it without knowing that it's even there. There is a semi open courtyard once you enter. Their cocktails are stiff and plenty sweet. Do try the raicilla - another agave byproduct that tastes somewhat reminiscent of their better known counterparts tequila and mezcal. Tip your bartenders generously and you will be well taken care of! I believe you need to reserve in advance. Or you can book a tour with Amberleigh through Airbnb Experience "Secret Bar Tour Sssssshhh".

This place is beautiful, great ambiance and service. Dark atmosphere but alos very chill. Servers are the best.

A really cool bar tucked in the center of a busy block. We went early, and were of course impressed by the cocktails, but also the staff. I can't speak to the after 10pm crowd and atmosphere. Between the five of us, we got to every interesting cocktail, and there are no bad choices.

The street is lined with loud, messy dive bars, with the buzz of their maxed-out subwoofers vibrating the air around you as you walk by. Staff members wait outside of their businesses and usher you in, pushing deals on you with promise of cheap food and cheap drinks and cheap, cheap, cheap... but not El Colibrí Bar. Had we not intentionally come looking for this place, we surely would have missed it otherwise! Walking by, it almost looked like a quiet little spa that was open late at night. The back wall (covered by beautiful plant decorations) opens up to reveal a hidden door - the entrance to inside! Truly like a speakeasy. Upon walking in, it's warm, classy, and intimate. The plant decor and bar setup is beautiful. The vibe is completely different from outside, with a live DJ playing in front of you, but the music is not loud enough so that you can't hear your own thoughts. What a contrast from when you walked in! The mixologists here really know what they're doing, and the drinks selections are highly sophisticated and plentiful. Drinks - My boyfriend ordered the Miss Yuzu, a cocktail with coconut fat washed gin. I ordered the Geminis, a passionfruit and rosemary mezcal cocktail. Both drinks were stunning and more importantly, DELICIOUS! Finding this bar was certainly the highlight of my trip, as my boyfriend and I struggled to find a place with great drinks (meaning you can order more than just a gin and tonic/tequila on the rocks) and fantastic service. The bartenders really love what they're doing, and it's evident! We loved our trip to Puerto Vallarta, and when we come back, this is hidden gem is certainly going back on the itinerary.

Ok this is the best speakeasy in the Area hands down!!! Walk in and you think it's a jungle. Look up, it's open roof (can close if it rains) which it did on us ! Drinks are hands down well made. The bartenders knew what they were doing. Perfect date spot !

Great craft cocktails that did a good job of highlighting quality spirits while remaining refreshing and somehow not too sweet. Our server was great and the ambience perfect.

This is one of the few Speakeasy style bars we have in Vallarta. It has an LA vibe with Mexico prices. The entry way is non-descript, but once the doorman welcomes you inside, you're in an open air lush green swanky space. Craft cocktails are served alongside a DJ in a beautiful setting. It's one of our favorite post-dinner drink spots.

Superrrrr cute speakeasy in PV. The ambience is perfect and the bar opens up to the night sky. Even if it starts to rain, they have a retractable roof that can be rolled out and the problem is solved. The menu had various options for wine, alcohol, spirits, etc but I came here to try their mixed cocktails. I first tried the riki tiki and it came in a tall tiki cup. The mixture of rumchata and licor 43 was immaculate but the star of the evening for me was the Paradise cocktail. I originally wanted Miss Yuzu but they didn't have the ingredients to make it so the waiter asked what kind of flavors do i like and suggested this one and after quickly drinking up the first one, I ordered another. The blend of the raicilla with the cinnamon, toasted pineapple juice, lemon juice- OUTSTANDING. I could hardly taste the liquor but I definitely felt it. This is a nice place to stop by if you're in the area.

This bar is sooo pretty. The drinks are really good and some have different alcohol types that you will learn about. The staff is very nice and super informative. Not a stereotypical tourist bar!

In spite of the loud techno music El Colibrí is El bombo. $7 to $10 USD, the price of a microbrew, for world class cocktails served in a groovy courtyard setting. And for the reviewer whining about no English being spoken even though he/she is in Mexico, get outta here. No English needed. The bar has WiFi. Open the menu on a smart phone and point to what you want. Our server understood every order.

I saw that this bar was highly recommended in Puerto Vallarta and might I say, I can totally see why so. This is such a cool little speakeasy, with all the plants and jungle themed decorations. My friends and I sat in patio area, which was so well themed that we almost didn't even realize that we were outside with the sky above us. The drinks were definitely quality and very well done. We got several drinks during the night and I remember all of them being unique and great to drink. One that stood out was the Miss Yuzu. While the place was enjoyable, I thought that the music was a little too loud. Throughout the night, my friends and I found ourselves screaming to each other to converse despite sitting next to each other. My friend even left the bar with a sore throat. On top of that, if you would like to sit in the patio, they do require a minimum of $250 peso per person in drinks.

Awesome little Jungle themed bar with amazing cocktails. Just a block off the Malecón, it is a great choice for an after dinner drink or two. Zamir and the whole staff will take great care of you while you lounge in a comfortable jungle oasis, along with a DJ playing most nights- makes for a nice evening!

This place is a hidden gem in PV!! I work as a mixologist at a well known speakeasy in San Diego and this place hit all the marks! Decor, ambiance, hidden entrance, retractable roof was dope, and the cocktails were ON POINT. Really chill, intimate romantic spot if you want a quieter place to enjoy some fabulous drinks!

Worth checking out. No sign, non descript door opening up to a green oasis in the middle of PV. Great vibe, great cocktails, chill music and enjoyable environment.

Looks really cool and has great potential. Drinks are meh. Club music is fucking weird. So there's a bouncer with a mask on at the front and I'm thinking what is this, some kind of corona virus themed bar...not the case. You go through one silent room with nothing in it and then walk through a door to an open air bar. As soon as you walk in, your ear drums are assaulted with absolutely nauseating techno club music, which does not go with what this place is trying to be at all. It was so strange, there was one strung out dude dancing to it beside the "DJ" but everyone else was just trying to talk to their group over the noise. The drink menu was concise and just what I'd expect from a cocktail prohibition style place-as this claims to be. The cocktails came in interesting looking glasses but were mediocre at absolute best. There just was zero complexity of flavor. I would not go here again. I'll be surprised if it survives.
