"After shuttering its much-beloved Oak Cliff outpost, El Corazon de Tejas is being resurrected in McKinney. Last year, the restaurant announced that it was heading to McKinney, and now El Corazon is ready to open its doors. The restaurant is set to debut at 1222 North Central Expressway in McKinney, occupying a former El Chico just like its predecessor, notable because the Cuellar family founded the popular Tex-Mex chain in 1940. “April 29 last year was an emotional day for our family and customers,” said co-owner Gilbert Cuellar, who will operate the restaurant with his cousin John, in a statement. “The support we received from everyone was overwhelming.” El Corazon will continue to serve the dishes that made it a Dallas staple, including the much-beloved Tacos Nortenos, mole-sauced enchiladas, and fajitas. For folks with dietary restrictions, vegan and vegetarian options are on offer. The famous margaritas will also make a comeback, along with fluffy flour tortillas that are made daily at the restaurant. El Corazon de Tejas opens on Tuesday, February 6." - Amy McCarthy

A truly historic Dallas restaurant from a distinguished family that has inspired an amazing line of TexMex restaurants. Sad to see it close. A pox on CVS for tearing it down.

Absolutely wonderful experience. I had a create your own combo plate and loved it. My wife had super nachos and decided it was the best she ever tasted. My daughter the fish tacos which we all got a bite of and determined were superb. Service was excellent without being intrusive. Prices are good and portions are large. We love this place!

Very nice! We liked the new look of the restaurant, so inviting, clean and fresh! We were greeted and served by Gloria, who is the best of the Best!!! The salsa is the most flavorful and fresh in Dallas. The tortillas are hand made on premises. We loved the chicken fajitas. One cannot go wrong spending time eating and drinking at El Corazon de Tejas! Thank you for the fine experience.

We dined here yesterday and the food and service were amazing!! I love dining here - can't beat the value. Always more than enough for the price. The manager came by our table several times to check on us and she was so friendly and made sure our drinks and chips/salsa were always filled. See ya'll next week!!

Ridiculously good, nostalgic Tex Mex. I love that there salsa comes in a carafe, so each person can pour just as much as they want. The fajitas for two special on Saturdays is definitely a solid reason to drive this far south and Dallas. However, my only complaint is that the frozen margarita does not have very good texture. Really, I would skip the adult beverages and just save room for more delicious food!

Absolutely the most delicious margaritas in town. I recommend a peach margarita. They are divine. The wait staff is friendly and prompt. Fun atmosphere. We had a terrific time there. The night we were there was very lively. The food is delicious. I think it has the best corn tortillas in town. Very generous servings. We will go back again and again.
