El Corazon de Tejas Makes A Triumphant Comeback In McKinney - Eater Dallas

"After shuttering its much-beloved Oak Cliff outpost, El Corazon de Tejas is being resurrected in McKinney. Last year, the restaurant announced that it was heading to McKinney, and now El Corazon is ready to open its doors. The restaurant is set to debut at 1222 North Central Expressway in McKinney, occupying a former El Chico just like its predecessor, notable because the Cuellar family founded the popular Tex-Mex chain in 1940. “April 29 last year was an emotional day for our family and customers,” said co-owner Gilbert Cuellar, who will operate the restaurant with his cousin John, in a statement. “The support we received from everyone was overwhelming.” El Corazon will continue to serve the dishes that made it a Dallas staple, including the much-beloved Tacos Nortenos, mole-sauced enchiladas, and fajitas. For folks with dietary restrictions, vegan and vegetarian options are on offer.
