Coto de Quevedo Origen

"Thanks to options such as loaves of candeal wheat flour bread baked in the town’s communal oven, delicious home-produced partridge pâté, comforting soups, and chickpea and bean stews, the dining in this restaurant is very much focused on everyday food, in contrast to its award-winning older sibling (Coto de Quevedo Evolución). It is one of those places that is good for the soul, and one which connects guests staying at this charming rural hotel directly with the countryside, accompanied by similarly friendly and easy-going service. Chef José Antonio Medina continues to focus on game, which is part of the restaurant’s DNA, as part of a more traditional style of cooking that is an ode to time-honoured and home-inspired recipes." - Michelin Inspector

Coto de Quevedo Evolución

"If you enjoy cuisine rooted in the local terroir, this restaurant, part of the rural hotel of the same name, 1km southeast of Torre de Juan Abad, will definitely appeal, thanks to surroundings which provide it with its inspiration. The “gastronomic” dining space (there is a second more traditional dining room called Origen) features just six tables, lots of natural light and pleasant vistas of the La Mancha countryside. Chef José Antonio Medina’s cuisine, which starts with appetisers at the bar, showcases the best local ingredients and full flavours of local Campo de Montiel cooking, including a particular focus on game (partridge, wild boar, venison, rabbit etc) – its undisputed hallmark. Standout dishes include River Mundo trout with roe and a partridge escabeche; young La Mancha goat from the Valbuena estate with cauliflower and white chocolate; green bean and basil velouté; and sea urchin and rabbit. Its set menus (Raíces and Recuerdos y Memoria) are enhanced by the best wines from the local region." - Michelin Inspector

What a great surprise! We went there with our two children, and not only were the hotel and the restaurant fantastic but the staff were lovely as well. We hope to return soon when the pool is open!

Inside a hunting ground, el Coto de Quevedo is a cozy hotel prepared for both family events and intimate celebrations including a very gastronomic one Michelin start restaurant and a more traditional one, both highly recommended. Strong regional traditional roots reinterpreted, focus on game, tasty flavours in a warm environment and kind service mades El Coto a perfect place for a weekend off in La Mancha.

We’ve booked this property directly (not via Booking.com) and were rewarded with a room rate equal to b.com, but our rate included breakfast for two. :-) ||The entire hotel is easy and chic, with simplified, tasteful decor. The rooms and hallways are equipped with qualitativ elements like solid wood furniture and leather sofas to elevate comfort and style. Spanish through and through, with terracotta tiles, finca designs, modern lighting, partridges running free and olive tree plantations as far as the eye can see. A place to get away from it all. ||The minimalist style transcends to the restaurant and lounge areas but shows an added level of sophistication. Polished, high-end plates, cutlery and glasses. Accompanied by friendly, reverted and attentive service. The menu selection refined and anything but ordinary. A firework of ingredients, flavors, and tasty emotions. We walked away realizing that this was and will be by far the best meal we’ll have during our journey through the heart of Spain. ||Compliments to the chef Jose Antonio Medina and his entire staff for making our stay and experience an event that will be remembered for very long. ||Tip: Ease into the day with a cappuccino on the terrace, personally created and served by Jose. It’s a highlight worth mentioning during this unique stay.

Lovely hotel with stunning views of Spanish plains. Jose Antonio and his brothers take great care to serve and to cater to your every need. |Would recommend to anyone who wants to eat well, chill and have a réal Spanish experience ;)|Only improvement would be to heat the pool a little, but hey... this is a personal detail and frankly the air temperature was so hot outside that the water refreshed us. All the same wouldn’t mind a little heating for early morning swimming.|Bravo to the chef and his team. A really nice place and definitely would come back again.

Excellent food, well presented and worth the price. Full flavor dishes and the expected attention. Around 40-50 € per person with drinks and desserts. Will come back when come around.
