Absolutely phenomenal. One of my very favorite restaurants in California. Service is always good and the food is OUTSTANDING. This restaurant made me fall in love with Cuban food and I have been trying as many Cuban places as I can but none compare to El Cubano. Pictured: Mojo Chicken (my personal favorite) and Ropa Vieja. The Cuban sampler is also really good!

Google
This is a hidden gem in SCV and our new go to local spot for Cuban food! Mike was our server and he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and overall one of the best servers we have had in a very long time in SCV. The food was delicious. We had the arroz con pollo, empanadas, media noche and flan. Everything came out in a timely matter and was hot and fresh. It was all so yummy. Being Cuban myself, I can say this was an authentic food experience. This should be everyone’s new local casual dining spot for a date night or family. Their prices are also very reasonable and they have an extensive menu with lots of options. I only wish we tried this place out sooner! Highly recommend, just go you won’t regret it.

Google
An impromptu lunch at El Cubano.. we had the lechon asado, 1/2 roasted chicken, crispy yucca frita and all the homemade desserts. Our favorite was the roasted chicken. It was so flavorful, the garlic lemon sauce and marinated onions made our tastes buds go crazy. The desserts were also delicious… the grand finale was a perfectly sweetened cute little espresso coffee shot. The owner told us about their catering and it sounded perfect. Give them a try

Google
We really loved this restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff were great! I had the Garlic half chicken. The skin was crispy and the chicken was moist and flavorful. The garlic sauce was perfect. My wife had the Ox Tail and she loved it. This restaurant has our vote for the best Cuban food in LA County!

Google
Got half a bbq chicken meal and chicken empanadas… the empanadas didn’t have much filling and was a little disappointed… but the meal was very delicious and would definitely get that again!!

Google
Great service in a relaxed cafeteria like dining setting. I love Cuban food and was looking forward to dining here for the first time. but I thought the dishes were average. The Sea Bass was generously portioned and had a nice garlic sauce but the palomillo steak was tough and didn’t have much flavor. Plantains weren’t ripe or fully cooked. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dishes or it was an off day.

Google
One of the best Cuban restaurants in California. Very friendly staff, food was delicious, drinks were done well and overall a relaxed fun atmosphere. We celebrated a birthday and they provided a free flan with candles and the staff sang happy birthday. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
I am so glad my son recommended this place. Ordered a couple of sandwiches to go and they were just excellent! While I waited Mike made me feel right at home. I can’t wait to take the whole family and go further into the menu. What a gem!

Yelp
It is an absolute joy and pleasure to dine at an establishment where you are welcomed and cherished like you're part of the family. El Cubano has a special place in my heart. We've been coming here for several years to enjoy traditional Cuban food made with love. Favorites: A classic Mojito - Vacay vibes in a glass. Roasted Garlic Chicken - Well seasoned and tender with so much flavor! Mixed Salad - A fresh way to start your meal. There's something special about the avocados here - so good! Empanadas - Generous sized, packed with flavor. Sauce - It's not listed on the menu, but there's a delicious green sauce made with cilantro that is a must for me every time I eat here. Desserts - the house made rice pudding, flan, and the tres leches cake are delicious. This is a hidden gem in Santa Clarita for a taste of authentic Cuban food with a warm and cozy ambience, and exceptional hospitality.

Yelp
A co-worker recommended that I come here, I've now been here 3x and counting The Oxtail and plantains are amazing. And they make their own hot sauce!!! So good. I recommend it to all of my clients when they ask where to go for food.

Yelp
First time here and I'm so inspired! I savored the Ropa vieja, my girlfriend enjoyed el Cubano sandwich and her son delighted in the pollo and rice. We also ordered a side of platanos, absolutely divine! Lived here 20+ years and can't believe I've never experienced this before. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Lived in VALENCIA long time. This place was recommended to me and my wife by a friend. Since then we have came here three times all three times we definitely enjoyed it. If you have not tried this place you should. It's good.

Yelp
First time trying Cuban food in general. But let's just say that the place or the service is the reason for the 3 stars. I'd give that 5 starts if i can. i ordered the empanadas (2 beef,1Chicken) Those were very tasty and good. Highly recommend trying them out, especially with the green sauce. (The beef tasted way better than the chicken). Now for the entrees, I'm really not sure what all the hype is about the Oxtail Stew. It's really not worth all that hype. It was very, very bland, IMO. It was definitely not worth it. It comes with 3 sides btw: Yellow rice, Beans, and plantains We also got the garlic-roasted chicken, Now all i can say about that. That it was chicken lol. There's not much to it, Just like any other regular chicken I've had. Nothing special about it. Also, Comes with the same 3 sides. Don't get me wrong again. The place is great. Very clean, very maintained and really friendly staff. That is helping you all the time. It was just the food, I did not feel it. Hate to say that I left disappointed. Not sure if I'll be back here again, Or maybe i will but i'll try to order something different.

Yelp
Still cool spot. Stepped their game up a bit. 1. Oxtails are flavorful and a good portion just wish the sauce was a little more tomato based. 2. The Yuka Rellenas I would drive from far for. Best I've ever had!!!! 3. Salad is huge and hearty. 4. Black beans were soupy and not flavorful 5. Rice wasn't fluffy and flavorful like I recalled 6. You only get a few plantains so if you want a lot order a side. Will be back if only for the Yuka Rellenas!
google avatar

Yelp
I highly recommend El Cubano. Everything is delicious and great customer service. Thank you!

Rushdi A.

Yelp
Authentic Cuban cuisine in the Santa Clarita Valley. Their empanadas are fluffy, crisp on the outside while tender within. The beef steak a La palomilla was a bit off, not as well cooked as I've previously had. I didn't send it back because I was famished, but it could have used a few more minutes to give it that nice golden finish.

Yelp
My first time there 10/10 first time tasting Cuban food amazing very tasty service was excellent very welcoming l recommend thank you very much for everything

Yelp
So we did a little drive to try this place..... unfortunately the maduros were the only hit on both plates The lengua was so hard needed more cooking time I love lengua but not this lengua the rice and beans mix together didn't do it. The ox tails were just ok we had better ox tails else where ...ate a few bites and that was it. My daughter didn't want to eat her portions I shared with her my brother tried both plates didn't like it either he gave it low points too. Lengua gets a 3/10 ox tail 4.5/10 Service was nice and friendly good service but the food was ehhhh Place is really clean and the bathroom smells so good.

Yelp
First time here. We've lived in the area a few years. Not sure how we missed it. We're a fan of the plantains. Also liked the Cubano sandwich, chicken, rice and beans.

Yelp
Amazing food! The place is super clean. The staff is compassionate and welcoming. Definitely recommend. I was helped right away. The portions are amazing for the price!

Yelp
I have loved this place for the longest time. My favorites are the shrimp in garlic butter sauce, empanadas, and the potato balls. The food is excellent, however, I'm writing this review based on the service I received today. My husband and I went to dinner with our newborn and they were so accommodating. They made sure I had a place to change his diaper and asked my husband if he wanted them to keep my food warm because I had to step away to breastfeed. That really meant a lot to me and was such a thoughtful gesture. I will always come back to this place for the food and service. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area. Huge shoutout to our amazing waiter and the owner/manager.

Yelp
I finally made it to El Cubano. I've been wanting to go for a very long time! The food was definitely on point, delicious and served at the proper temperature. I got the roasted pork, and that came with either a side of black beans and rice, or a combination of the two, as well as plantains. It was really delicious and moist. The waitress was adorable, and even though she didn't have a big command of the English language, she did great. Our appetizer of tamales was brought out immediately and then there was a small weight for the food but I appreciate that because that indicates to me that the food is not prepared ahead of time and is made Fresh based on orders. I will definitely come back and I'm excited because they are part of the second annual Scv restaurant week at the end of January

Yelp
Small portions. Service was ok. Ambiance was lonely . Menu was small. Food needed more flavor.

Yelp
I found this cute Cuban place. I'm glad I did! Best vaca frita I've had in while! The service was really nice and drinks were great! I loved this Cuban place very much. Looking forward to coming to it again next time!

Yelp
Food was amazing. Loved the ropa vieja. Also, appreciated the servers being patient with us as we lingered a bit after finishing our food.
google avatar

Yelp
Hearty and delicious food. We had the yucca frita, 1/2 roasted chicken and the vaca frita. Our kids loved the food too. Let's not forget the Bon Bon (espresso w/ condensed milk) I truly enjoyed it. Cozy and clean restaurant, nice lighting. happy for discovering this Cuban gem. Happy with the service too.

Yelp
So it was our first time. Let me tell you what we liked. The empanadas come in beef and chicken and they were both great, the green cream cilantro sauce was super yummy and the red chili sauce so spicy and good, warning use in moderation. The potato balls were yummy too and my bro in law loved the ropa vieja and my sister in law ate the fried chicken with garlic sauce, she would eat it again but warns super garlicky but the rice underneath helped a lot to soak it in. My daughter and husband got the cuban sandwich and my daughter loved it and would def order again. The rice was good. The black beans were bland and my dish were the disappointment. I ordered for $22 the palomilla steak. I would never order that steak again. Thin steak, unflavored, bland and tasted like it was cooked in water with onions on top of it. they said it was grilled. No grill marks, no char. Total disappointment. I would've returned it, but just drowned it in sauce and my son finished the rest cuz he just came to town and was super hungry. The service was good. Both the lady and man were both nice. Overall a good experience but i really wish i hadn't ordered the steak. But sadly the potato balls and cubano sandwich were both better at Porto's and we were really hoping to like it here.
google avatar

Farhana S.

Yelp
I tried the garlic chicken and it was a little sour for my taste but if you like the sourness then totally check it out!
google avatar

Marisol T.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The service is great never disappointed. This place is cute it gives you a senses of a Cuban energy along with Cuban music on the background. I recommend having dinner here.

Yelp
Just ate at El Cubano, it's delicious. I had the fried pork served with white rice and black beans (Morro's y Cristianos) and my wife had a salad, plantains served with rice and black beans. We love Cuban food, we are so happy there is a great Cuban restaurant in the Santa Clarita valley. We will be back!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
El Cubano has become our favorite restaurant, the steaks with rice & blacks beans are so flavorful, plátanos are delicious as well, Jessica the owner and Jeremy gave us great service as they always do. Great sangria and delicious flan as well. Highly recommend it!
google avatar

Alison E.

Yelp
This place was amazing, the ambiance was wonderful and the food so good!!! I had their famous pork and honestly I've never had anything like it. We will definitely be back
google avatar

Yelp
My family and I went here last weekend. We had ordered food from here a while ago and knew it was delicious. I remember ordering their crispy pork the first time. I was a little disappointed that they had sold out that day. So I opted for their oxtail stew. Oh my goodness! That was probably one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life. And this is not an exaggeration. The meat fell off the bones. The flavors were incredible. I literally want to go back soon just to have that again. Their service was great! Very friendly staff. I'd highly recommend going here to anyone looking for some delicious food!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is really good! Potato balls and empanadas and Cuban sandwich was great. Attentive and nice service. We'll be back!

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place if you're debating eating here DO IT!! Food: the food here is top quality & very generous in portion sizes. At first, I thought their prices were a little high but after eating here I can definitely say you get what you pay for. I ordered the beef empanadas & shredded beef plate. The empanadas were SO good!!! Texture wise they were extremely fluffy & soft while being just the right amount of crispy. I also enjoyed how generous they were with the beef filling you really get all the flavors in each bite. Definitely recommend ordering these empanadas! The beef plate was also very good it just needed a little more seasoning or maybe some kind of sauce to top it with. However, with that being said the beef was extremely tender & the rice, veggies & beans they include with it really elevated the flavor. I'd order this again but maybe next time with a sauce to add more flavor. Overall, great food the pictures don't do this place justice. Can't speak on service or ambiance as I ordered through the app. Great experience I look forward to returning & trying all the other menu items! I also want to note I ordered this as takeout so I can only imagine how much better everything tastes in person. Good to know that even when ordering takeout you're still getting quality food.
google avatar

Mariela H.

Yelp
The food is well prepared and seasoned. The mojo is delicious here. They have attentive service both to-go and dine-in. Highly recommend.

Ashley J.

Yelp
Super delicious! My favorite is the oxtail.. super friendly staff, great atmosphere. You don't be disappointed.

Yelp
Amazing Cuban food! Probably the best we've ever had. The Moros y Cristianos is incredible as well as the fried yuccas. Our plates were delicious and very generous served. Would love to come back!

Daysi

Yelp
This was our first time going here. It was so delicious. The service was great. Definitely coming back. The pork was delicious and so was the chicken. We also had a flan and it was delicious. Overall a great experience and great food.

Yelp
Once again, El Cubano came through with a tasty dinner. We had a party of ocho and Mauricio took great care of us. Six of the dinner guests have never been to EC and three are visiting from Panama and they have been to Cuba and they loved the food here and mentioned that they want to come back when they visit Santa Clarita again, which is often. Thanks to the large dinner group of foodies, I tasted a couple other dishes and I can't wait to go back and try other dishes, Pork Chunks with Yellow rice is amazing..... My stomach is growling just thinking about it. We had # 1,8,9,12 and 20 dishes and everyone was very satisfied. A shout out to Jessica for taking our reservation and for introducing herself before we departed. If you haven't been here and you like Cuban food, I highly doubt that you would want to drive out of Santa Clarita to seek it, the portions are good and I'm a big eater and there is no doubt lots of options and great tasting food along with the service. BRAVO!

Yelp
I actually had to go through my reviews to make sure that I hadn't already reviewed these guys. I love their food so much, so I'm actually honestly surprised I hadn't. This is another stop that we made during SCV restaurant week. The idea behind restaurant week was to find new favorites, but we kind of had to hit this place as well, mostly because their offerings for restaurant week were so amazing. For $22, you got an empanada, a choice of three entrées add a choice of three desserts. We jumped at it. And in fact, we went with a group of nine other friends, and made a party out of it. Our group of 11 people ended up ordering at least one of the seven different menu items made available, and there wasn't a single negative word spoken about the food we ate. Personally, I got my longtime favorite, Ropa, Vieja, and it was as good as it always is. Super savory with just the right amount of Tomato base and spice and the beef had been simmered to ropey perfection. On top of my chicken empanada, I had to get an order of Pappas Rellanas (potato balls), which, next to a good eggroll, is my favorite appetizer...when done right. Their picadillo is tasty and always on spot. I will say, the Tres leches cake at the end of the meal was new to me... I usually don't get dessert at restaurants, only because I want to concentrate on the meal and dessert is distracting. But it was very tasty and super moist. I don't know that I'd order it again, for the reasons mentioned above, but if somebody offered it to me, I wouldn't say no. I cannot recommend this place more, especially considering it really is the only Cuban in town... We do have one other restaurant that is very good, but ownership has an interesting relationship with scheduling, and it's never easy to find them open. Which is fine, because El Cubano has stepped up and is easily The best Cuban we have in Santa Clarita.

Yelp
Small mom and pops place located in a plaza. Great food and great service. It was a little bit warm but overall, great experience. Right away was a menu and if I needed anything to drink. I asked for a Materva (soda), said yes and was brought to me in a can with a glass with ice and straw throughout having to ask for it. (A+). I was able to look through the menu, once the waiter came around, asked if he could answer any questions. (Great service). While I was waiting for the food to arrive, he brought over 2 small pieces of toasted bread with butter on them. Once the food arrived, it was good. Tasted fresh. The dish that I had ordered was the palomilla empanizada which came with white rice, black beans, and a few friend plantains. I will return.

Erica S.

Yelp
The food is always great and staff is always amazing! Love this place and both the garlic and cilantro sauce are to die for!
google avatar

Stanley H.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of El Cubano. My favorite dish are the oxtails I've ordered them maybe a dozen times. I ordered the oxtails tonight and for some reason, they appeared a little off . I don't know if they changed chef or what it was but the taste that I'm used to wasn't there.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Such a great meal every time we go. Nico and the rest of the folks at El Cubano are so great. We also do the roasted garlic chicken and the lechón asado but today I tried the yellow rice and pork dish and it will for sure be something we order again and again! So yummy! And they made our night extra special by giving us some off the menu apps to try. Thank you!
google avatar

Daniela B.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with the family and we ordered Empanadas and Fried Yucca as appetizers, both were really good and the sauce that came with the empanadas was bomb too. As the main course my family ordered the Roasted Garlic Chicken and I got the Vaca Frita with Moros and Platanos Maduros. Everything was sooooo good! I got extra of the garlic mojo sauce for the meat, which gave it such great flavor. The staff (I think the owners work there) is super friendly as well. You can tell they care about the food and making sure the customer has a great experience.
google avatar

Super S.

Yelp
The food, the people, and the service here are fantastic. We live in NorCal but always detour to stop here when passing by on the 5. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Noemy G.

Yelp
Wow definitely try the beef empanadas and the potato balls! It's a cute little spot pretty quiet and intimate. We got a Cuban and a steak sandwich which was delicious we couldn't finish it as the empanadas and potato balls got to us first. Our server was on top of it and super sweet, will definitely be back and telling friends about this little hidden gem!
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
Our first time here tonight. I ordered the chicken soup which was good but I didn't think it was worth the $10.00. Our friend ordered the palomilo steak which he enjoyed. My wife ordered the Cuban sandwich which she also enjoyed. The service wasn't as good as I would have like especially as the were only three other tables occupied.

Marvin P.

Yelp
We Love This Place! My wife and I were evacuated from the Altadena fires. Farmers insurance has done a great job and put us up in a hotel in Valencia. We were searching for a good place to eat, to take our minds off of the chaos of the last 10 days. We called to get information, and Mike answered the phone. The service was excellent and he told us if we wanted to order. Just call back and he'd be happy to take our order. We made up our minds called back and he took our order and just took care of us in a way that made us want to really hope that this food was good. So we got there and Mike was supposed to be gone but stayed around just to meet me. It was awesome. Met his mom and his dad, the owners and they were just good genuine people. Now, what about the food? My wife ordered the half chicken. It was really good. I ordered the salmon. It was really good too. The thing that surprise me is that some people who cook salmon like to have it mushy on the inside even when you tell them well done. They made my salmon well done and it was very tasty and the thing that surprised me and impress me, was that it was a good sized portion. So many restaurants today give you that small sliver of salmon and charge an arm and a leg for it. Everything that we ordered, including the empanadas were just really good food. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere. And you couldn't ask for a nicer family to serve you. Will definitely be going back to this place.
google avatar

Karie F.

Yelp
I really wanted to love it. The service was 5 star. Food not so much. Bread was delicious, coffee was on point. I had the "top sirloin" which was supposed to be grilled. The flavor was good, garlic and lime with grilled onions. The steak was super tough and thin, like a skirt steak. And looked boiled, not grilled at all. Really hard to cut through it with a serrated edge steak knife. More like pulling the meat apart. I got literally 3 plantains on my plate also. Beans and rice were just ok to me also.
google avatar

Kamron J.

Yelp
This might be the best restaurant in Santa Clarita. Their food is consistently delicious, takeout and dine in. The service is attentive and friendly. Always clean, and prompt. I don't think I've had a bad thing here, and I've tried most of the menu. My favorites are the ropa vieja, bistec de palomilla, arroz con pollo, lechon asada...everything is good!
google avatar

Yelp
My sister and I stumbled upon this place as we were looking for an indoor restaurant to eat at as it was raining that day. The reviews were good and the place looked good from Yelp pictures so we decided to give it a try. Nice and small place, feels very homey and we were greeted by friendly staff. Apparently the bathrooms smell really good too, never made it there because the food was lackluster overall. The lengua en congri plate was just edible, while the rabo was hit and miss as some of the oxtails were perfectly cooked and others were under done. But the rice and beans with the plátanos was a much better side in our opinion. Wasn't a horrible experience, we ate most of the food but definitely have had better and it didn't quite live up to the expectations that we had coming in. Can't really say I'd be willing to make the drive there again but you never know. Overall it was like a 6.3/10 experience.
