"This local favorite has been serving up food from Oaxaca and Jalisco for more than 40 years. The interior is spacious with a central bar and a small handful of seats, but you should sit on their excellent patio when the weather is great (which is almost always in Healdsburg). Don’t miss their mole oaxaqueño, a rich chile-chocolate sauce incorporating more than 20 ingredients, that’s especially delicious heaped on top of carnitas. Wash it down Oaxaca-style with a mezcal-passionfruit cocktail, or try a hibiscus-tequila cocktail for a taste of Jalisco." - allison green

"El Farolito, the name of which nods to purported super burrito inventor El Faro, took the original Mission-style burrito and perfected it. These burritos are grilled to perfectly combine their ingredients, with rice, beans, and meat (carnitas and al pastor recommended) into a messy whole that’s far more than the sum of its parts. There are several Bay Area locations, including two that are close in proximity in the Mission, with the newest outpost in North Beach. Go for the super — an incredible value — and bring cash." - Lauren Saria

"Earlier this year I noticed North Beach welcomed the latest outpost of the legendary Mission burrito purveyor El Farolito, known for its famously enormous burritos." - Lauren Saria

"The beloved family-run Mexican restaurant expanded with its long-anticipated 12th location on Grant Avenue near Columbus, continuing the Farolito tradition of oversize burritos and daily hours from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m." - Paolo Bicchieri
