Eating Off Duty with Jon Yao of Kato

"My favorite place is El Flamin Taco in Koreatown. It's pretty close to my apartment so I go quite often. I think they have the best al pastor and I'm a big fan of their tripe tacos as well." - Marisel Salazar

Google
5 stars for the El Pastor! 4 stars for the others. $2.50 pertaco, seems to be the standard price these days. Somehow the quality differs from food truck to food truck. I went to the location in ktown, near the galleria mart and next to the car wash. They're always here and food's good. Be prepared to wait if there's a long line. P.S. Bring cash as it is cash only.

Google
Do not get the burritos. The size itself lacks, there is not much meat, and it still is about $10. The asada fries also did not have much meat, but the fries and guac that come with it are fresh! The tacos on the other hand are worth it! Flavor and quality of the pastor and tripa are on point!

Google
Always pass by, but not anymore! …Menu is easy to read, but there’s no prices. After ordering, Tacos are $2.50 each. Kinda pricey, but when you get it you see why. The meat is portioned with love and seasoned tastefully. Guac sauce is flavor town. The only downside is there is nowhere to eat! Other than that, I would definitely come back.

Google
Best freaking tacos I’ve had in LA, Al pastor !! No prices on the menu, but taco was 2.50 each and you get dress ‘em yourself, two benches in front/sidewalk.

Google
THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST FOOD TRUCK I'VE EVER BEEN! Midnight, after drinking, I stopped by here and enjoyed tacos. It was really spicy but I couldn't stop eating cause it was just too good. I felt spice next morning in the bathroom. Be ready for that.

Google
My go to is the California burrito. It comes with fries, sour cream, cheese, and your choice of meat. And the red sauce is the best in my opinion. It’s spicy but I swear it tastes so good I don’t even care that it burns. Overall love this place (and there other locations) and 10/10 recommend without hesitation. OH ALSO THEY DO PIZZAS NOW! I don’t think they have them everyday BUT it’s like $20 bucks and you can get a pastor pizza.

Google
They have the best tacos al pastor in LA seriously i tried a lot places but Flaming taco la sacaron del estadio!!!! If you visit this place try those Quesadillas fritas they have gringas and a lot more mexican food 😋. 100% recommended Flaming taco

Google
Had to update my review past couple times they been skpping my orders and taking way too long.... Original post: One of the go-to spots especially late night they are usually open till' 2 am. Al pastor always recommened fresh off the trompo and it's great for fresh hand made tortillas as well.

Jarred R.

Yelp
Bar none. The best Al pastor tacos I have had in known memory. The asada burritos were good and well seasoned but those al pastor tacos keep me coming back!

Yelp
Open late between 5th Street and Walgreens(6th Street) kinda busy most of the time in front of the Car Wash and next to Walgreens. Maybe 3 1/2 Stars... lacks a little flavor. Pollo was a little bland, carne asada was okay. Little goofy set up. Pick up Al pastor to the right and everything else to the left side. Condiments all to the far left side. At least an option for tacos At 12midnight or 1am in K-Town.

Yelp
I've been wanting to hit up El Flamin Taco for a minute but never had the chance until last night. Located on the side of a car wash and parked on the sidewalk. There's actually two trucks but the first one isn't occupied. Ordering is a bit confusing for first timers. Go to the window and the lady was talking to somebody inside so I didn't order for a few minutes. After ordering hand your number to the guy at the grill. All of the condiments and salsas are on the truck ledge so help yourself. The Al pastor taco for $2.50 was good. The meat itself had a little char from being on the grill but still was nice/tender. I only got two cause I wanted to try to see if the hype was real. Next time will have to get more. Al pastor is the crowd fave since everyone was getting some. Cash only

Yelp
First of our pastor taco was black and burnt. SUPER TRASH. You should be fired for serving this bs. All I can say is GARBAGE. Better off going to Taco Bell. Glad I took a bunch of napkins to make up for this horrible food. Check my photos.

Yelp
Visited from Toronto, and this was the first taste of LA tacos from my trip and it was delicious. We had an one hour queue for kbbq and decided to walk over for a pre dinner taco snack. The Al pastor was the protein in the meat spinner so it was nice and fresh. I also saw the staff making fresh tortillas. The menu didn't have pricing but one Al pastor taco was $2.50 usd and you can dress it up yourself. This was the best taco I've had during my stay in LA and would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place based on reviews, we went yesterday and the tacos were not it. We ordered 4 al pastor but it was not cut off of the trompo. We ordered asada tacos and the meat was not asada more like beef chuck, it was hard and flavorless. The fries for asad fries were good and the sauces. The older lady taking orders was rude. Definitely wouldn't come back.

Yelp
This truck is right by my place! But they're ALWAYS busy when I drive by. Been coming here while walking our dogs for years. They have their main truck, an AL Pastor rotating grill outside, and a quesadilla truck behind. Really want to try their fried quesadilla someday... Went right at 7pm when they open on Friday. I parked at the nearby Walgreens and walked over. Ordered 2 Carne Asada fries. The fries usually take longer since they have to fry them, but they came out super fast since I was there early! Filled a sandwich bag of pico de gallo, avocado salsa and salsa verde, then got my order. This place is the closest to San Diego style Carne Asada Fries from my college days! Comes with a huge scoop of guac, melted cheese and sour creme. The fries are thick steak fries, fried slightly crispy! Recommend a healthy portion of pico de gallo and generous avocado sauce and either red or green salsa too. Keep in mind, CASH ONLY! And extremely busy on weekend nights, especially after peak drinking hours!

Yelp
5 stars for the tacos el pastor. For tacos only, the pork is sliced right off the rotisserie straight onto the tortilla, piled high and topped with a slice of pineapple, also from the rotisserie. Other items are good. I tasted more bread and lettuce from my torta al pastor. Carne asada fries are always tasty. The thing to get tho is the tacos al pastor.

Yelp
They used to have a truck near my apartment in Hollywood but it's been 'Temporarily Closed' since for a long while now. I've tried other taco trucks and while good there was something missing. A lot of taco trucks have a 'greatest hits' approach to meat options: beef, chicken, pork. I've had the asada and the al pastor, and they've been good with the al pastor being pretty tasty but El Flamin has a variety of different cuts which makes for more interesting tacos: tripas, buche, cabeza, lengua and they've had a tenderness and flavor that's been unmatched. What's more, I like that you can further customize with their wide variety of salsas and veggies.-that avocado one goes well with almost everything but I love it on their tortas. For a food truck they definitely make sure to have space for that as well. I will say though that the location here compared to the Hollywood one is a little on the unfriendly side.

Yelp
Ordered delivery and this is the 2nd time they send NO SAUCE at all!!! DRY MEAT ON A DRY TACO!! You guys should be ashamed of yourself to pack up orders WITH NO SAUCES!!!!

Yelp
The deep fried quesadillas are to die for!!! Soooooooooo freakin good. We ate here a few days ago and we are back tonight too. Late night food truck that's better than many restaurants I've eaten at.

Yelp
Cheap eats, cash only. Pretty good al pastor!! Has a slice of pineapple on top of each taco. The people in line also only came for the al pastor. Parking very limited and the area is very sketchy. Lots of homeless people lingering around. FYI the two trucks are both the same place. Windows 1,2,3 with 1,2 being the el flamin taco truck where you place and pay for orders and window 3 is the truck behind. Kind of hard to hear orders. Toppings are all in the front in buckets. I didn't really bother to place any on because it didn't feel sanitary but the taco itself was good on its own. Sad a taco is like 2 bites though.

Yelp
My go-to taco spot in Koreatown! I've been going here for almost 4 years and the quality has been the same. I always get the cabeza and al pastor tacos. my husband gets the cabeza burrito with everything. The burrito is super hearty and is packed. I love the variety of sauces that they offer -- the avocado sauce is delicious and the red sauce has a great kick. El Flamin' also has pico as well as just a cilantro/onion mix. I go to the truck near Walgreen's -- parking can be a little tricky but we usually just park in a spot behind the truck as long as the line isn't too long. Staff is friendly and they're open late if you need a late-night snack, or second dinner!

Yelp
Heard about El Flamin' Taco from a local. The wait was not bad & we went at 6:45pm on a Sunday. Ordered 5 tacos, Al pastor, pollo & the asada tacos. We also got an order of the asada fries. Tacos are $2.50 according to their website. The fries were $11.00 and I seriously thought that was pricey. The fries were not all that great either.. we didn't even eat it all. The tacos however are great. We live in Houston and have great spots there, but the Al pastor here is one of the best. They only take cash. I wish they would have prices on their menu so we could have passed on the fries. We didn't think to check their website, but now we know better.

Yelp
I went to this place today for National Taco Day. I had been to another location they have in Korea Town as well the one on Alexandria and 6th. I just moved to Korea Town so I didn't know that the OG taco truck location is on 5th and Vermont right in front of the Car Wash. This matters because the one on 6th is pretty trash. Also they really get things going by 7:15 pm not 7pm. So most important thing THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!! Second most important thing, people really come here for the Al Pastor tacos because that's the best thing they have. I ordered tacos de carne asada and they were okay nothing special and to be honest the meat was a little dry. Little known fact not many tacos spots in LA, even the best ones, make high quality carne asada. They usually have another meat that serves as the TACO STAR... So this place fits that bill the pastor was damn good and worth the hype. I'd say top 5 I have had in in LA. The other plus is that all the salsas are pretty good as well. I would recommend trying this place specifically for the tacos al pastor. It's worth it!!! I would give it a 4 but that carne asada experience just took away a bit from this place. I would say this place is a solid 3.5 out of 5.

Yelp
This place has the best chicken muletas. The only downside to this location is that they only take cash. No credit cards and no apple or digital pay at all. So come here with cash on hand. Their salsa verde is a must!
google avatar

Christine N.

Yelp
I tried this taco truck a couple years ago and absolutely fell in love with their tacos! They have a station where you can add your own onions, cilantro, and salsa to make it to your liking and I really like that we can customize our tacos. The meat is always juicy and tender. Their salsa, both green and red, both delicious. I wish I took some pictures but I got too excited to munch on their tacos! Definitely a go to place if you are ever in K-Town in LA!

Yelp
First off, the reason we went there was because our regular taco spot that is half a block down on the southwest corner (across from Walgreens) was already closed by the time we got there at 12:30 am, so we wanted to give El Flamin' Taco a try and as a side by side taco spot comparison. A few things different at El Flamin' Taco that stood out compared to the other spot was the following... #1. They are very tight on the meat for the tacos. The other spot gives you so much al pastor that it is busting out of the taco and winds up dropping on the when you try to eat it, which is great because when you are done with the tacos, you still have a nice amount of meat on the table to indulge in. #2. They charge $2.50 a taco which is outside of the normal $2 a taco and the tacos sizes are very small (almost the diameter "size" of a large Starbucks coffee). #3. They don't even double up the tortillas so that when you eat them the tacos don't break apart. I mean if your charging $2.50 a taco at least double up the tacos and appreciate and take care of your customers. That's all I'm saying and this is what the other spot DOES do. #4. They don't have the big 5 gallon juices to select from (Horchata, Mango and a few others flavors). No collage of what looks like sweating drinks in 5 gallon clear containers looking like they are inviting you to try and drink them. So compared to the other taco stand, El Flamin' Taco gets beat by the other spot that might appear as the underdog spot, but when you go to the other spot in comparison, you realize how expensive, how tight they are, and how lacking in generousity they are for the customers money. The tacos are ok at El Flamin' Taco, and I went along with two other people and I asked for one of their opinions (one of my friends who went with me to the other spot and was trying El Flamin' Taco along with me also for the first time), and we both agreed that the tacos were ok, but they have absolutey NOTHING on the other taco spot half a block away. Even when I told the staff at El Flamin' Taco before I ordered that I was trying them for the very first time they seemed like they honestly didn't care, which to me is a poor and tacky atribute when it comes to customer service because as a business or employees you want to win the customers heart of everyone, especially the new ones. So after eating there, I told them about my 4 key-point issues in comparison with the other spot just to see if they care about a new customers feedback and they simply didn't care. So afterwards, I told tell them that I was going to give then a review in the next day or so, but actually I decided as soon as I got home to write this review right away since I had the experience still hot and fresh in my memory. But yeah, the other spot is much better and sadly it seems like El Flamin' Taco simply does not care about a customers feedback which to me is VERY important as a business alongside customer feedback. If anything, you would think that they would say something like, "well damn....lets see what we can do different to win you over since we have competition right down the street", but sadly they didn't care. So as a way to make up for the not-too good experience, the tightness they have on the meat for the tacos and the tortillas, along with the high prices they charge, I got a few of their plastic sandwich bags and stacked on about half a bag of their green sauce, half a bag of their onion mix, and about 8 quarter slices of lemon ( about 2 lemons worth, actual value at the supermarket about $.50 a lemon) and called it even. So now even though they charged more than the other place and higher than the average price for a taco, at least tomorrow morning with my tortillas on top of the fridge, my cheese in the refrigerator, and some eggs, I will be have some damn good home made breakfast tacos with plenty of sauces and condiments, compliments of El Flamin' Taco. Now were even. :-)

Yelp
I could probably eat here everyday if I lived here!! Just a solid taco truck that does amazing carne asada, chorizo, and al pastor tacos. I love that every single al pastor taco comes with a slice of pineapple! The condiments outside include a variety of salsa, lime, radish, and my fave - habanero pickled onions.

Yelp
I've had El Flamin' Taco bookmarked for quite some time. I was in the area having dinner but it just didn't cut it for me and my little fam. So I opened up my Yelp app and viewed my bookmark to see what's closest distance wise to me. Well, El Flamin' was only .4 mile from me and I told my little family we're grabbing tacos next. Ordered: 4 Plain Carne Asada 2 Suedro 2 Al Pastro 1 Carne Asada Fries I must say everything was super delicious. The meat wasn't dry or oily. Food came out fast and it was the best decision we made. I do have to say it was pretty pricey for one street taco $2.50 each. So it's not something I would say I could eat all of the time as it would hurt my pocket but definitely would be coming back. My kids kept wanting more tacos and already said they can't wait to come back. Only complaint on why I can't give them 5 stars is the customer service is highly lacking. The lady was calling the order number in Spanish and obviously not all customers speak Spanish. She got annoyed because she had to repeat the order number. Then she got annoyed at my husband because he asked for 4 plates. Which I thought was not un-reasonable ask. She gave him a dirty look. Tips: *They have an IG page. *There's another truck next to them and its pretty much the same business. *El Flamin' is located right in front of the car wash. * They have all the condiments available for you to grab and package yourself. *We ordered and parked in the Walgreens parking lot nearby and just ate in the car. * Cash only

Yelp
This is the go-to for late night tacos - more specifically the Al pastor. They are quick and their service is accommodating. Ambiance is just like most taco trucks- people trying to smack tacos and get home after a night out.

Yelp
YES YES YES! If you're reading this and wondering if it's worth checking out, GO GO GO! This taco truck is by far my favorite taco truck that's out here in LA. I always order Al pastor tacos and they are always cooked to perfection. I also love the variety of salsas they have available in front of the truck so you can make your taco(s), the way you want YOUR tacos. I also highly recommend getting theirs nachos and burritos, because those are delicious as well. Just as a heads up, this place only accepts cash. As far as I know, they don't do Venmo or any other type of payment other than cash, so come prepared!

Yelp
I got sick from eating here. Order the hand made quesadilla and while waiting there I observed the woman cook exit and enter both food trucks twice with her blue gloves on, touching all the dirty door handles and the ladder attached to the truck. When she finally returned to work on the food she went right into the masa dough and continued to handle all the food with the same dirty gloves. At one point she was even on her phone...I really wanted to say something or simply walk away but I stupidly convinced myself not to be a little punk. I took a chance on the heat killing any bacteria...at the meal and went home. That same night before bed I could already feel the abdominal pains and today I have been suffering all day next to the toilet and in pain. Please be warned!

Yelp
Best Al Pastor tacos in the area and I love the fried quesadillas and the pizza served on weekends is delicious as well!

Yelp
Super excited to try this place considering the good reviews it had. I was really craving a California burrito and let me just tell you it wasn't the best I've had. Way way way to too many French fries it was basically a French fry burrito. Maybe I will try the tacos next time but not the burritos
google avatar

Yelp
Please go check then out!!! The al pastor is soo good! I love taco trucks, so this was definitely one of this we had to try. The salsas are really good too, so don't be shy when putting some on your tacos. The quesadilla!!!! It's huge and so cheesy. There's a grilled or fried option, kindda want to go back and try a fried one!

Yelp
The last time I visited El Flamin' was 7 years ago according to my 2015 review. I gave them a 3.5 then and today, I give them a 3.0 so basically my 3 star rating remains the same. The food is consistently average and reasonably priced. Some differences are that the truck they use is larger and it's parked alongside busy Vermont Ave. now instead of being situated in its own parking lot at the car wash. 【QUICK TIPS】 # El Flamin' is known for their al pastor tacos, but this time around, I didn't think the al pastor stood out against other trucks. It could be because I ordered it in burrito form, not as a taco with a pineapple piece on top. If you order both types and taste them, DM me and let me know if there's a difference or if the al pastor is indeed nothing special now. # After receiving your order, load up on the onions & cilantro, cucumbers, limes, and sauces. My friends were wondering how I was eating my burrito forever and it's because I kept adding condiments to every single bite. That is the way of my burrito. # Decent late night food for decent prices. # Don't bother paying $12 for a burrito supreme (burrito w/ sour cream, avocado). Just get the regular $9 burrito or order their other items. My friend ordered a burrito supreme and they just filled it up with rice. 【end QUICK TIPS】 I ordered an al pastor burrito for $9 and didn't think it was anything special. It tasted like your regular run-of-the-mill burrito. Their al pastor was their signature meat at this truck and this time, I don't think it hit the same...maybe because I got it as a burrito and not a taco with a pineapple piece on top. If I was blind-folded and given an El Flamin' taco or burrito, I wouldn't be able to tell it's from El Flamin'. It tastes like any regular taco truck. When I'm back in LA for late night barhopping or concerts, I'm not going to go out of my way to seek this truck. I'll either find the closest taco truck or eat my people's food that is Korean.

V V.

Yelp
All right, so I've been coming here for many years like many L.A natives and locals. I have noticed that the quality has gone down a bit in the last few months. Unfortunately, the last 2 times I've gone, the al pastor was dry and the tortilla, stale. I do like their salsas, particularly the salsa roja - it's spicy, it's smoky, and salty. The salsa verde is also delicious with lots of tomatillo flavor. The avocado salsa is mild but you can taste the savoriness. Anyway, for $2.50 per taco, they do put a good amount of meat, but it just doesn't hit the same. It doesn't taste as good as it used to imo. I used to love their Hawaiian quesadilla (gringo), but again - the pastor is dry! I'll give it one last try and if it ain't good, I will definitely be moving on to surrounding spots.

Yelp
Delicious, and hits the spot! Love the al pastor and the chorizo is a close second. Salsas are spicy and full of flavour - wish they had even more locations than they already do

Youjin S.

Yelp
Park at walgreens and walk over to the truck. Their al pastor tacos are a MUST add onions lime and LIGHT GREEN SAUCE and i promise youre going to wish you ordered more. Their cali burrito is also delicious. It has fries and everything else in a burrito but its huge. I usually share with a friend. Make sure you give your ticket to the man w the al pastor if you order some!

Yelp
The only reason I came here is because El Venado up the street was closed. If you look up the definition of mediocre in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of El Flamin' Taco. This place is aggressively mid. I have no clue how a taco bowl can be so devoid of flavor. You can literally walk into the local carniceria, pick up a lb of carne asada, and you can't go wrong. So HOW does El Flamin' Taco miss so hard. I put three different salsas in it because it just didn't taste like anything. And the worst part? It cost $12. I know, I got hosed. Chipotle is right around the corner, costs less, and tastes so much better which is just insulting. Thank me later and go to El Venado instead.
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
This is one popular spot on a busy street. I ordered a carnitas burrito with everything in it including beans and rice. The burrito was pretty good but I didn't like the fact that the beans were not cooked all the way and were a bit hard when they should be mushy. My girl agreed because she ordered a bean & cheese burrito and she had the same complaint. It's still a solid choice for late night munchies.
google avatar

Denisse M.

Yelp
The service was very neutral it wasn't very inviting but nor was it unpleasant. It is a food truck so it's outdoors so you take your stuff and go or you can eat standing up it's up to you. The tacos that I ate were al pastor They were really good. I just wish where they put the salsas Someone is actually over seeing it because people tend to double dip which looks kind of gross to be honest . But overall they're OK

Yelp
I really hate leaving bad reviews, especially at taco locations. Taco trucks and Mexican food are always my favorite things to grab. El flaming has always been my go to, especially for tripas, but I'm a regular at the echo park location. This was my first time here at k-town. First off, my pastor burrito became carne asada. Whatever, I'm not mad about it, but refer to the picture. As I ate through a quarter of the burrito, I saw this white substance, initially thinking it was cheese,m. I don't remember there being cheese in the burrito and resembled a lot like chewed gum. YES CHEWED GUM, mind you I was not eating gum when I bought this. This is utterly disgusting, from all points from hygiene, to covid. I was disgusted and took my appetite away. I love el flaming, just would never go back to this location.

Yelp
Rating - 4 Stars Great stop for a quick and affordable meal at $2/taco! AL PASTOR wasn't as juicy as I thought it'd be, but it had good flavor and you can definitely taste the spice/seasoning. CABEZA was really tender and kinda reminds me of the slow cooked beef you'd find in soups. So it has that neutral beef taste, but nothing else going for it in terms of other flavors/seasoning, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I heard El Flamin, Ave 26, and Leo's are the top spots in LA to get al pastor tacos. And between those 3, I'd say El Flamin was better than Leo's, but Ave 26 has them beat. However, the parking situation and "cash only" for Ave 26 can be a bit of a hassle, so in that regard, El Flamin is definitely still worthwhile and would be my pick for the convenience!

Yelp
If you're ever in Ktown, you must make your way to this taco truck. Two things you must order at El Flamin's are the al pastor taco and the fried quesadilla. I don't know which one is better so just get both. The sliced pork is top on the perfect texture tortilla. The pork is flavorful and with the combo of the sweet sliced pineapple makes this taco delicious. El Flamin' taco sauce is great and adds a bit of heat. The fried quesadilla is so good. We decided on the potatoes and chorizo. Love it. The fried quesadilla was fried to perfection. The fried quesadilla was huge. We had the girl cut it in four for us. Parking can be hard since it is street parking only but a little bit of walking will make the food worth it more. Put this taco truck on your late-night food list, after bar list, taco list, eats in ktown list, whatever list! Just come try it out.

Yelp
THE BEST AL PASTOR TACOS I've ever had. This taco truck is located by the curbside next to a car wash and near the CVS pharmacy. I ordered the carne asada tacos and the al pastor tacos. The carne asada tacos were pretty good but nothing too crazy. The al pastor tacos, on the other hand, were absolutely delicious. Once you order an al pastor taco, the cashier gives you a piece of paper to give to the man standing by the al pastor taco machine. Watching the worker cut off some juicy slices of meat and a piece of pineapple is soothing. The taste was amazing and I could've eaten so many. The price is reasonable and the service is quick. I will definitely come back every time I am in SoCal.

Yelp
I visited this place a few years ago on one of those nights I was craving tacos... I remembered falling in love with the Al Pastor. I took a trip down memory lane to see if it was as good as I remembered. I can confirm. This is one of the most flavorful Al Pastor I've ever eaten, hands down. The Buche is also delicious. The suadero crispy, and juicy, while the tripa has a nice crunch to it. The Cabeza is good. The only mistake I made was eating the Al Pastor first... In my book, it is the star of the show. Another mistake was not getting more Al Pastor tacos... So I guess I made a few mistakes... Live and ya learn :)

Yelp
The place to get your CA style burritos and carne asada fries! It has been a late night staple and now with COVID they give you individually packed sauces as well. My favorites to get here is the carne asada and the al pastor tacos. You can find them parked on Vermont right before Walgreens.

Yelp
Just another taco truck. I got a few carne asada, the meat was broiled not grilled, I don't really expect them to grill it in Fri t if me, but at least put it on the flat top.. Al pastor, the pienso was the most flavorful ingredient on it. I'm bummed I stopped. Not worth finding parking for. No flavor, no passion, low quality...

Yelp
Yoooo ... Since my last visit, they upgraded their truck lookin' mad clean and like a LED lit kitchen. Damn. Plus I was told they had a deep fried quesadilla, so my friend David L. hooked it up. It was so good, but let's call it what it is. A giant ass empanada. I also introduced him to a saudero taco. But again, still not a fan of the single tortilla. Just sayin'. All in all, great spot.

Yelp
I went out here because this is one of my friends faaaaavorite places to get tacos. It did not disappoint, however the pastor was more tough when I tried it. It was still delicious but my friend said that it's been better on the weekends. I got a Cali burrito with chicken and pastor with a horchata. It definitely hit the spot. Just know that they only accept cash so make sure to stop by an atm before making the drive!

Yelp
Such incredible al pastor! Super good toppings selection as well, plus convenient location in Koreatown. (Although remember, cash only!) I looooove the al pastor fries--I don't even live in LA anymore, but I'll challenge anyone to try to keep me away from a serving of these fries every time I'm back to visit. Pretty sure I'll find a way to eat them every time. I think the real key to why El Flamin is so good is just their al pastor--super flavorful and probably the juiciest al pastor I've had. Simple but so well-executed! (Guess it's worth it to mention that other meats here are good too, but al pastor is exceptional which is why that's pretty much the only thing I've been talking about oops...) Parking around the area is okay; I've just street parked for the most part. Line moves pretty quickly too if there is one, and food comes out at a reasonable speed within a few minutes! As is the norm with taco trucks, there isn't really a place to sit and eat, but plenty of people just stand around and gobble up their tacos/food. Or you can always take stuff home! The al pastor fries conveniently come by default in a takeout container--super easy to transport. Go to El Flamin'! Try the al pastor fries! Just do it!

Yelp
I drive all the way from Santa Ana just for Al Pastor, every time I crave it. And to be honest with y'all I don't like al pastor, but El Flamin has the best Al Pastor I've ever ate. I usually go for the deep fried quesadilla! I love it, if it's not the quesadilla it's the good ol Al Pastor tacos. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
First, let me say I've been here about five times and the food was very good. Flavorful clean meat and fresh ingredients earn 5 stars. Thank you. Unfortunately, the service leaves a bad taste in ones mouth. My first few visits I thought they were filming one of those prison movies, where you try to be nice but the server looks right through you, then the guard yells "Move along!" as your smile slowly fades. By my 5th or so visit, still no smile, still no "thank you," little or no eye contact, served with the emotion of of a dial tone, or Ben Stein from those "Clear Eyes" commercials. I'm sorry but small business customer service must be as good as, if not BETTER than, their product. We want to support YOU, and what you offer. I don't want to feel shamed or feel like I'm the villain of chismosa just to get my burrito. I shouldn't have to feel like I have to lick someone's tinga to get you to appreciate my business. It's simple. Smile. Talk to me -- not at me. Treat me like a human. Like the people at Blue Bird Burgers on Berendo and 3rd, or the taco place on Council and Vermont, where you leave smiling, happy you gave your hard earned money to down to earth people who appreciate you as much as your dollar. Be the change.
