The 19 Best Restaurants On Bird Road

"There are several El Floridita locations in Miami, but this is the original Cuban seafood spot that’s been around for decades. The restaurant is filled with regulars who come here for attentive service and some of the most affordable fresh fish in Miami. The fish case near the entrance and the way servers ask couples for updates on their grandkids are evidence of this. If the entire family is in tow, order the lobster or fried whole fish to share. But if you’re looking for a deal, get a combo. It comes with your choice of soup (chicken or fish), an entree, and two sides for about $15. Go for the enchilado de pescado and also make sure you order the meaty lobster croquetas." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

The Best Croquetas In Miami, Ranked

"Price Per Croqueta: $3 Lobster croquettes are common, but a Cuban-style lobster croqueta is a rare thing. So what’s the difference? We’d like to picture a lobster wearing a guayabera while holding a Cuban cigar between its little red claw. But the boring reality comes down to the masa’s consistency. El Floridita’s Cuban croqueta has a thick masa that isn’t heavy on the bechamel. You can actually see and taste chunks of sweet lobster meat. And the croquetas are crunchy enough to carry around in the pockets of your very own guayabera if you so choose. " - virginia otazo

The 10 Best Hidden Gem Restaurants in Miami | Eater Miami

"With three locations in South Florida, seafood lovers can enjoy a reasonable three-course meal for $12 any time and any day of the week. Begin with the traditional fish soup or opt for the lobster bisque, cheese bisque, or red pepper and tomato soup for an additional $4. Continue on to mains such as fish filet, shrimp “your way,” or lobster and crab ravioli, with most entrees including two sides. Finish off the meal with choices of flan, Catalan custard, bread pudding, or espresso." - Stacy Moya

This place does not exist anywhere else. This restaurant truly deserves a Michelin star. The food is always fresh, natural and organic. The service is wonderful, everyone there is amazing and the quality of the food is spectacular. This place deserves all the recognition it can get because there’s is no place like El Floridita. Truly a 5 star restaurant.

I love this place so much. From the service to the food which is really good!!! I come here at least once or twice weekly. The cuban beans are so homie, and the fish is delicious!! The lemonade is like homemade, who does that anymore? Will definitely recommend.

I recently visited this wonderful Latin restaurant with a friend and had an exceptional experience! We enjoyed delicious mussels, shrimp with sausage, and a rich, creamy lobster bisque. The highlight was definitely the rice with squid ink—flavorful and perfectly cooked. The ambiance was lively and inviting, and the friendly service enhanced our experience. Highly recommended for authentic Latin flavors and seafood lovers!

El Floridita offers top-notch service that genuinely enhances the dining experience. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making sure you feel well taken care of throughout your visit. However, the food falls short of expectations. Despite the impressive presentation, the dishes lack the bold flavors you might hope for. If you're seeking exceptional service and don't mind a more subdued culinary experience, El Floridita might still be worth a visit. For me, the lack of flavor in the food is why I’m giving it three stars.

The restaurant was very nice and nicely decorated, very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and kind. I'm from New England and used to different fish choices and don't really care for what they had available. I ordered lobster bisque and I probably wouldn't order it again, it was a bit sweet but a very nice presentation. My friend ordered fried shrimp and that came with chicken noodle soup which she didn't want so I ate that and it was delicious. She also go a salad and it was a good size and very fresh. There were six shrimp on her plate so we split those which were tasty but a bit greasy. I would say that you should try it, they do have lots of options and there will probably be something you might enjoy if you like the fish options they have. Everything looked fresh. One more thing, the rolls were served warm with the most delicious garlic butter 🧈 😋 I'm sure if you wanted to try them you could call ahead and inquire about what kind of fish 🐟 they are serving that day and it would be easy to decide.

Took family here since we were in the area. Menu looks expensive ,but they also have a lunch menu with good options and it included a soup we had arroz Frito with shrimp, fried shrimp, grilled chicken, blackened fish fillet with mash Coach of those plates was $12. Unbelievable that they came with soup each. Taste was great so we will be back soon.

I went to the window to grab coffee and had the best service and experience. Marlene was super nice and attentive. Her service was excellent. Coffee and croquetas were great
